The MMD in Ndola has with immediate effect suspended its Vice Secretary for Publicity and Information Alex Mubanga for threatening to beat up Former Vice President Enock Kavindele at the fourth coming national convention.
The suspension has been announced by Ndola District Executive Chairman Cephas Katongo thursday.
Mr Kayongo says the MMD is a responsible party which should not condone irresponsible statements from its members like the one attributed to Mr Mubanga in Thursday’s issue of the Post Newspaper.
Mr Katongo said the MMD has no crack squad and people should ignore such utterances which he said are misplaced.
He said the ruling party will continue to protect everyone in Zambia and will not habour any militia.
Mr Katongo said Mr Kavindele is free to attend the national convention and contest any position of his choice.
He however said no one will vote for him because the district has already resolved to support President Rupiah Banda.
And Mr Mubanga has accepted his suspension saying he is a loyal member of the party and will respect any action taken against him by any organ of the party.

Dont waste time going 4 the st..yop.et convention then.That Katongo guy is in it for business.Everyone knows how he is struggling to pay back the loans he got to buy the buses.
You MMD chaps vote for a party president who shall deliver the following 5 needs; 1. Create employment, 2. improve health care provision, 3. Education promotion, 4. Rural development, 5. Check crime and corruption. If Kavindele is the guy to achieve the afore listed, vote for him. Bukeni you chaps!

Just FYI MMD supporters, we hate your party for good reasons: MMD protects thieves, protects thugs who harm other opposition cadres, has infiltrated the judiciary, MMD Leaders do not condemn violence for as long as is done by one of their own.So this government can built schools , clinics,etc but if they continue pepetrating these evils against pipo with opposing views then 2011 isn’t for them. This suspension is not convincing unless it is issued by the party president, otherwise this is just window dressing.
Going to the next MMD convention will be lending legitimacy to an illegitimate predetermined election. You would think Kafindele (Kavindele) understands that point.

Meanwhile, MMD cadres harassed and nearly beat up Kitwe deputy mayor John Mwape for raising the PF fist during the singing of the national anthem at the commissioning of new markets.
MMD Ndola District information secretary Alex Mubanga, popularly known as Shimpundu Pa Nkoloko, said he flushed Mwape from the mayor’s tent at Nakadoli Market because he raised the fist when singing the national anthem.
“He was so terrified and he asked for forgiveness, we were very disappointed with him…. said Mubanga.
But….claimed President Banda provoked the raising of the fist when he flashed the MMD’s the hour symbol.
