Milingo castigates Priests

Share

Former Lusaka Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo

Former Lusaka Catholic Archbishop Emmanuel Milingo has castigated Catholic priests practicing partisan politics.

Archbishop Milingo says the move is not only wrong but also has potential to divide the whole nation.

The Archbishop said the Catholic Church is a universal church adding that all Catholics should embrace politicians from various political parties.

Archbishop Milingo said on Friday in Lusaka that clergymen and women should play the role of mediators among politicians to promote peace and unity.

Meanwhile Archbishop Milingo has cautioned Zambians against engaging themselves in vices that may jeopardize the peace and security of the nation ahead of this year’s tripartite elections.

He said Zambians should desist from any forms of violence if the country is to continue enjoying peace and freedom.

  1. Farther Bwalya yena achilamo. I think he has realised that he wasted his time becaming a Priest as its not profitable. He wants to have a short at politics to make quick money and compaset for the time lost during his priesthood. Ni strategy ka. Ba Father kosani mungankale ba next Kaingu in the next PF led GRZ. Minister of Community Development or maybe because ba Sata nabenve bazachita uphold declaration ya Zambia as a Christian Nation Mungangankale ko ba Minister ba Christian Desk mu State House. Kabili nabenve Ba Chiluba benze na Vendors Desk. Sebana ulye Father.

  2. so millingo is affectionately loved by state media. anyway way the man is a failed priest who pretendered the whole lot of his life that he does note cherish orgasm. anyway thats not my business it’s between him and his god

  3. What is this disgruntled Archbishop saying? He literally came out of the Catholic church because of sex. He has no moral right to condemn other because he is very immoral nimself.,No one should listen to this man after losing all the reverence he earned himself because of the lust of women. Who is a traitor or a hypocrite here. The defunct Archbishop has openly endorsed and supported the current president as his preferred candidate. Now what is wrong with Fr Bwalya who is advancing interests of the poor, the poor who can not be heard by advocating for change.

  4. In fact Fr Bwalya has a democratic right to campaign for or de-campaign any one of his choice has long as he is within the confines of the law. This is a democracy bane. Secondly, Fr Bwalya is acting as an individual and does not in any way act on behalf of the church. Therefore, what he is doing has got nothing to do with his religious affiliation. We have seen before right here in ZED where some disgrunlted BA pastored have been used to cover the dirty and mess of those in political power. They continued until God had to put a stop the nonsense. Where was this archbishop that time? Is it because he was excommunicated by the catholic church that he wants to rage his vengence on innocent priests like Fr Bwalya? Please Archbishop say something else.

  5. When some few men of the pulpit speak pro-government, they are not partizan. But when the majority of the clergymen just point out what the government haz done or not done for the people, they are labeled partizan.

  6. Ba Milingo wesu: The church speaks for the voiceless and that is what the church in Zambia is doing. Without this voice the voiceless are doomed. In the 21st century the church has a role to regulate the activities of the govt.

  7. Ba Milingo you are no longer the respected person we knew and admired. The clergy is not there to just mediate but to be the voice of the voiceless and vulnerable in society.

The church cannot just watch from sidelines when MMD is busy destroying the country with impunity. NAY!!! Like the MMD govt, that will be gross dereliction of social and spiritual duties and God cannot allow that.

Ba Milingo you did not just disagree with the Catholic Church over celibacy but you broke the celibate vows as well. The Church ex-communicated you and you left went ahead and got married.

I hope you new life is not interfering with your normal thought process.

The clergy in Zambia wants to see govt being responsive to peoples needs

  8. At least I realised at the age of 35 that I needed a woman. Others talking above realised at 70

  9. There is the problem, a monkey laughing at another monkey’s bum. Milingo could not keep his vows and went around the world trying to discredit the Catholic Church hierarchy after being caught sinning and yet he tries to present himself as being credible. Religious leaders cannot remain removed from the aspirations and needs of their flock. If they do that, they become irrelevant to society. Remember the NAZIS and the Catholic Church, ex-Father?

  10. Milingo plz keep quiet. Which true man of God would keep quiet when the masses are suffering as a result of selfness of those in govt? If you have nothing good to say just keep quiet. Milingo you are just a pretender leave Fr Bwalya alone he cares for the poor

  11. Those who are enganging in partisan ploiting should heed warnibg from Archbishop Milingo. Infact most of those clergy men who are politicting are from one tribal grouping. I dont know if its just by chance.

  12. Its so sad that now Millingo can see, I appreciate other priest who are speaking for the voiceless like Fr. Bwalya. by opening that mouth and try to advise others in that way, it must be something to do with sickness, old age, or mental problem. there was a time when Millingo spoke spitual words, now after that Korean Sex, all has bn lost. Continue seeking Go’s face than what you have started.

  13. Iwe milingo, utatushupi swebo wnvwa te, try vatican may they can forgive you. This time you wud have bin a cardinal, manje uchende. Anyways thats wat you wanted. Never dare us, we are mafiosoz. you can disappear ka.

  14. There is no need condemning milingo. He has the right to speak and share his views, just like anyone else. A word of encouragement to the clergy, continue speaking for the voiceless. You are the light and salt of zambia. You have a prophetic role to play in the nation.:)>-

  15. Milingo lishilu, the guy has no vision and he is old no life. He failed to be a truly respected priest and now he is a RB PR.

  16. No problem guys, but you cannot use the pulpit to support Sata and claim that you are speaking for the voiceless. I mean, do you know who Sata really is? Do you know what he really stands for? The voiceless, my foot!

  17. #17… Have you forgotten how the church heavily supported and religiously campaigned for MMD in 1990-1991?
Sorry maybe you were not born yet. MMD has disappointed all of us with the way it has managed the nation and the right thing to do is get it out of power

The church cannot support repressive and retrogressive ideas that are not congruent to the norms and ideals of modern day democracy.

MMD, you have cults that support you. So what is your complaint?

  18. Milingo you have popped some cherries now be quiet and wait for your own judgment from God. Stop condemning others you hypocrite.

  19. But Zambians common zambians are found in churches the church that keeps quate when the poor are being abused is no good to God or the nation

  20. Country men and women lets give Mr Michael Chilufya Sata the vote in 2011.Trust me this man will change Zambia. Lusaka will be totally clean, hospitals will have medicines, roads will be built and govt stealing will be a thing of the past. Please lets give this TIGER of a man a chance in 2011. Vote SATA!

  21. Milingo failed to keep his laws in catholis church, who is he to instruct pastors in Zambia. He is failed bishop who is now making a living as private church. Man of God, you time is finished to instruct pastors in Zambia!! By the way, do you pay taxes for your church?

  22. Ba milingo amano yalipwa bushe tamwishe ati umupatili nagu pastor abantu amona ebaba affectected sana nama politics. what is wrong for the clergy to speak for his own people? dont bring comfusion as you did mu catholic were you could not keep ur celibacy vowels and went on to marry and formed ur own church. we are happy wth any clergy who speaks for his own people.

  23. Men churches are not taxed in Zambia and please stay way from insulting a man who stands on what he really means and not doing things in dark corners.Bwalya is Zambian, RB is Zambian,Sata is Zambian,H.H is Zambian .We are all one so let us learn to embrace each other’s views.

  24. Point of collection this shit is no longer an Archbishop he has been redused not even to the level of an alter boy, he is an hopeless and dissapointed shit! he is still hiding in the name of the Church bakamba ba milingo just know now how you are going to keep your home! You are misleading the people of God in order to pretend not regreting a silly mistake you made..now you are Nothing chikamba.

  25. Mr. Milingo please stop speaking on behalf of the Catholic Church which you voluntarily left in pursuit of the pleasures of the flesh. Similarly, tell the mmd state media embracing you today, to stop calling you former archibishop and just call you Mr. or else give them a new title con fred on you by your new church.

  26. As a Zambian, albeit disgraced Zambian, Milingo, is free to campaign and support the party of his choice. What people find questionable, and even objectionableis the man’s insatiable desire to speak as if he was still a somebody in the Catholic Church when he is not. He clearly has issues with his image and the state media is all over this “fallen angel” like flies on s.h.it. We’ll see how far this will go.

  27. In his calling on Zambians to desist from engaging in acts of violence, this once respecgted milingo forgot to call on another important player in this game to do the same: the mmd government and its state police who have only in the recent few weeks have actually killed innocent citizens. It’s a two-way street.
