Forum for Leadership Search Executive Director, Edwin Lifwekelo says Chongwe Member of parliament; Sylvia Masebo is planning to defect to the opposition Patriotic Front (PF).
Mr. Lifwekelo says his organization has information that Ms Masebo is likely to cross over to the PF on Saturday or Sunday.
Ms. Masebo is currently Movement for Multi-party Democracy (MMD) Chairperson for women.
He told ZNBC News in an interview that Ms Masebo has betrayed MMD members who voted for her as chairperson at the MMD convention.
Efforts to get a comment from Ms Masebo failed as her mobile phone went unanswered.
Ms. Masebo has also not applied to re-contest her Chongwe parliamentary seat in this year’s elections under MMD.

The most likely outcome is for Ms Masebo to cross over to the UPND or stand as an independent. Masebo is/was an important member of MMD, an influential member it must be added not only in her constituency but in MMD at large going by her victory at the Mulungushi convention against all odds. However, MMD is a big organisation and no one member is bigger than the party. If her position in MMD was untenable she is right to leave. She will definately be missed but MMD will still win the coming Elections even without her.

The death of Chiluba is symbolic to the end of the MMD era
Chiluba is indeed dead! True, there is a living god out there in the heavens who listens to our every prayer. This chap gloated over the demise of Levy and soo happy a heart attack has taken him out. His seemingly triumphant and malicious satisfaction from Levy’s death pained upright men like us. I have never felt such satisfaction from the demise of another fellow man since Tetamashimba died a few years ago. I hope Chiluba’s soul, together with his under wears, suits and shoes all fry eternally in hell. GOOD RIDDANCE! And all thieves beware, if we cannot get you through the judiciary, we will haunt you until a heart attack visits you.
The Associated Press and Reuters have also confirmed the death of Chiluba. The article in AP is slunted in a very negative way. Part of the sentence in the article says, “Chiluba who was Zmabia’s democratically elected but later turned into an autocratic ruler and crushed the opposition….” He reluctantly gave up power following his faild bid for a third term of office..”
I guess this is not the best time to talk ill of Chiluba. Let us remember and celebrate his life as our former head of state. He did good and bad things during his time as president. Fo sure he liberalised the economy and opened the market to the outsiders. During KK, we never had an apple or coke but Chiluba made all these things flood our markets including in tuntembas. MHSRIP.
