  1. IT’S WAS ACC ,Now DEC FIRED! Well done ,clean up the corruption Mr president ASAP! wooow hope Mr president you will also put into the constitution security of tenure for technical and professional positions like the BANK GOVERNOR,Auditor General etc. (The issue of Dr Fundanga,an intelligent and an accomplished man,now messed up by RB and MMD make sad reading indeed). Can Zambia attract qualified and dignified Zambians in its current constitutional influence from the executive ARM?? Also on all the Boards don’t put people you can easily control but men and women who can stand up for Zambia. Men and women with values and integrity, academically qualified to sift through matters that are hearty to our country. The issue of FINANCE BANK like all investments in Zambia MUST be protected.

  2. With Sata ,dealing with straight forward issues like William Banda, naming airpots, returning stolen property back to the owner etc etc will not go to court or parliament.people have been stealing Govt funds unnecessary in the name of consultations, commission of equerries  which at the end of the day findings we not used. 100% I believe the rule of law has to prevail but Sata has very little time for that. I have seen people found guilty and sentenced by our courts only to meet them free in Cairo road and dancing rhumba at kitchen parties

  3. The issue of FINANCE BANK like all investments in Zambia MUST be protected by the law. Investments or businesses should never depend on the mercy of politicians but must thrive on merit. Laws must be strong enough to protect businesses and their security of operations, making it hard for any politician to abuse them. H.E SATA must transform the institutional legal framework to achieve this goal and strengthen DEMOCRACY. Our caps off for the Actions so far…..next is the new Constitution within 90days Mr president, plz act ….act ….act, its the action that will speak come 2016!!

  4. if zambians we accepted this rubbish for years I don’t see why we can’t stand changing airport name or firing corrupt people. Not long ago Govt worker only  got subsistence allowance when they travel away from home but under MMDsomeone leaves woodlands for a budget meeting at a Lodge in kabulonga and amasses millions of kwacha in 5 or 8 days of sub,how do we win as a country?wait that is ending soon!

  5. I was wondering why it took this long. Get rid of the corrupt dead wood. Infact there will be questions to be answered. Again well done H.E MCS.

  6. Rule of law,how many zambians plunders who our learned Judges sentenced to prison but never served their terms? 2,7 or may be 50. Let us be realistic people with our country what is the point of taking William Banda to court and the case delayed for 3.8 years before he is sentenced when cadres can just give him a good beating for his foolishness under RB term.if at one time I witnessed a protest about the activities of William during MMD , I  would understand when people call for his human rights now otherwise it’s hypocrisy

  7. thats ship in its cruising speed, please Mr President do not slow down otherwise the other cockroaches will hide. do all your best within the 90days period in cleaning all the instituitions and later continue until the five year time

  8. Rule of law,how many zambians plunderers who our learned Judges sentenced to prison but never served their terms? 2,7 or may be 50. 9. My point is we  tolerated fo0lish things for far too long why are we suffocating with Sata in two weeks. I would get a dictator to clean the cancer of corruption and greedy in Zambia, and vote him out if the ordinary citizen are not helped after 5 years. Why do people cry loudest when someone tries to stop corruption than when it is promoted? Mwanawasa was met with this noise but bwezani was left in peace because he left all do as they please. Now Sata is attracting the same noise, you people who are learnt surprise me

  10. Chiluba followed the rule of law while abusing our cash through ZAMTROP and SLASHFUNDS while corrupt politicians built mansions but you let him rule for 10 years. Sata comes with his formula and puts aside your rule of law that never worked for mother Zambia and stop the greedy now you cant even give him three weeks. The man did not rig elections all he has done todate is what he promised during his campaign, did you ever attend his gathering or listen to his promises or you voted blindly? Let us give him the chance we gave to others!!!

  11. To Lusaka Times Administration
Please don’t just news feed us with third party media feeds at least show some passion in your work and include a small profile (CV) of the newly appointed Official in this case Ms. Alita Mbahwe. Don’t you chaps read articles in Forbes, Times Magazine Online etc

    With warm regards
    Jay Jay

  12. Lets not just comment blindly gentleman when H.E was being inaugurated he swore to uphold the constitution which is our guide..how can u justify short cuts that break the law just to justify “the clean sweep campaign,c’mon! the law must be upheld at every cost.simple.everyone is innocent until proven guilty this is appalling

  13. We all want to see corrupt elements purged from office however we all have to acknowledge that a wrong is a wrong and Mr Sata is going about this in a wrong way. We have all been lead to believe by the post that the previous administration was corrupt and indeed issues like NAPSA, sale of FBZ did raise eye brows in favour of that view. But Zambia is now a democracy and despite the acceptance that rogue elements should be removed from office, evidence in support of alleged corruption should also be availed. Otherwise, we will start to believe that there is a concerted effort to fire anyone appointed by MMD. Which is wrong

  14. U change everyone because u suspect they never supported you.u create so main enemies and make your governance difficult.

    • Its just bearly two weks since mmd lost, and u hav started condemini PF govt. first of all wat did mmd do for PF whn it was in Govt. Sata was called all sorts of names, was tried in so many ways bt neva felt sorry for him. PF neva won any electoral petition at all. all thins wer corrupt so wat can u tell me 14 & 15. Let him work i hav nt seen any thin wrong so far. Look at wiiliam banda the way he behaved wer was mmd? out of the stupiditness of him we lost a brother. so plz kip quiet if u hav nothin to blog here. Give H.E M.C.S chance and peace to work. viva pf

  15. in certain extreme cases, the law is inadequate and to shame its inadequacy it is necessary to act out side the law……. H.E. MCS, please do all the necessary short cuts if that will make Zambia a better place, ignore those who have a problem with your patriotism for mother Zambia! complacecy has killed us all and now is a time to mushroom from our slumber and carry our country on our shoulders. the old garmets must be removed otherwise pathing on new cloth on old ones makes the whole picture ugly, FIRE, DISSOLVE,FIRE, FIRE please keep FIRING….

  16. Well done Mr. president! And to you Ms Mbahwe, I would say work hard madam and make us proud. I have known you to be a hard worker and I know that you will perform to the expectations of the Zambian people. JM

  17. #11 JAY JAY – exactly! I don’t understand why all these online and paper newspapers are fond of rushing to regurgitating press releases, many times even mis-spelling names carelessly, and yet provide absolutely no extra detail beyond the regurgitated press release. It is one reason why the journalism profession continues to struggle in terms of numbers of journalists that are flourishing outside Zambia or on the international scene, unlike if you compare most of the other professions. Journalists in Zambia do not take their work seriously, beyond just chasing press releases and press conferences. 99% of the news is hard-core politics and the reason is simple – politicians are very good at press releases. However, ask a journalist to do a more creative piece and you will get nothing!

  18. Well done the president. But one things, why is the president appointing only journalists from The Post? Is it a confirmation that The Post was sponsored by the PF to cover them during the past general election?

Amos Malupenga, George Chellah and next is Fred M’membe.

Watch this space and proof me right or wrong.

But am not saying I support corruption.

  19. Just an observation, Mr Sata has been very active castigating fellow Zambians on account that they are rough and corrupt, something that should be welcome if done on firm evidence and through laid processes – One thing he pledged when in opposition. However, I can’t help but observe that he seems to have taken a soft approach on the mining companies and the windfall tax that he promised to impose if elected! Surely this, will undoubtedly bring in real resources into the public coffers. Word from Mining Minster is that the tax paid by mining companies is low and should be revisited… Why the cautious approach there despite the overwhelming evidence? Also the Chinese – It appears that they’ve only been asked to respect our already weak labour Laws. Where are the decrees on that?

    • Be patient if you have been following the articles and reading messages from the bloggers you will understand that we as Zambia may have to be tread carefully. THe govt will meet with the investors and agree to some changes.

  20. Bane these guys were bad. let Sata purge them out. i will give you an example,at Disaster Mgt & Mitigation Unit under VEEP: DMMU in the final days of 2010 they elevated the position of National Coordinator to PS level to facilitate plunder, abuse of office & resources. Relief maize was distributed to no hunger stricken areas. K29 billion was released for constructing bridges, grading of roads. buying culverts from Zimbabwe @ US$500 when infraset in Kafue sales the same culverts at US$120. Relsed vehicles 4 campaign. they abused the army in Muchinga Constituency to repair bridges that where not even damaged but left uncompleted by Lupando Katoloshi. Grading the Chisomo road & distributing saudi arabian dates with impunity. Can we leave such a person and expect him to perform!!!!!!! Viva M

  21. # 19 …. to people who understand the ruthless chaaracter of the MMD govt and the galant and fearless way the Post and its team confronted them, then you would know how the country should be indebted to them. Their sucrifisial efforts is just up there and while most of us chose to hide or compromise to protect bread and butter they put theirs on the line. Lets give credit where it is due.

  22. Please, come and fire the Senior Medical Supritenedants (SMSs) and Medical officers (MOs) in the referal hospitals such as University Teaching Hospital(UTH) Ndola Central Hospital (NCH), Kitwe Central Hospital, Lusaka General Hospital and Many other Health institution Kindly Let them help us to with th stuation. Things are really in MESS! We dont want ba shu shu shu ba MMD. Kindly and please we need your help.Ba SATA HELP BY FIRING SUCH SENIORITIES AT THESE INSITITUTIONS.

  23. Things are really in MESS! We dont want ba shu shu shu ba MMD. Kindly and please we need your help.Ba SATA HELP BY FIRING SUCH BA SAKALA AT THESE INSITITUTIONS.
    PSs,

  24. Whats this am hearing about the 10th province to be called Muchinga. You bet Mpika will be the HQ and will be turned into a city just like Chipata under RB.

  25. Remember in 1991 FTJ also removed all the patriots who had worked so hard for this nation. The results are well known & now i worry so much when i see MCS making the same mistakes. 2016 is so near & if it isn’t proven through convictions that these innocent zambians were corrupt MCS will be disgraced.

  26. its SATA not SATE check your headline spelling for SATA…too quick ya!!

anyway those that benefited from these guys obviously are not happy but its life time for pipo you denied justice to also celebrate,,relatives,,friendz,,girlfriend n boyfriends,,,mufuna mweka mukazidyela…kekekekekeke

  27. #19 You are right. The President’s pronouncements on DCs and PSs are that he wants to put in Civil Servants instead of cadres. I wonder if the guys from the Post are Civil Servants. He might be doing good actions but the decision to appoint Post journalist is a minus because they not Civil Servants. Directors in the Civil Service were looking forward to go up as PSs but only to see Amos Malipenga get their position. I hope it is not a situation of a pot calling Kettle black. I know that the Civil Service commission should recruit PSs and other Civil Servants. As we praise we should point out mistakes so that the mistakes of the MMD do not haunt us. We know that Membe is waiting for his reward and it will be big. I hope its not the right off of the debts Zambian Airways owes NAC.

  28. “Mr Sata also said there should be continued reforms in the Zambia Army, Zambia National Service and Zambia Air Force in terms of sustained medical and educational service as a means of curbing corruption”

Its seems corruption can be cured by medical means… this guy must be give a Noble Peace Prize in medical science

  29. Sate terminates the contract of DEC commissioner . Which Sate are talking about. My President is SATA not SATE. Next time you write like this you will be fired ok.

  30. Phew,at this rate of fast and furious terminations i am waiting at any moment to be dismissed by Sata from my duties of holding him accountable or blogging on LT.

  31. Enka you are actually replaced too do not even blog in another name, bye bye. Do not worry even mushota will blog and blog as much as he/she wishes. It only those whose interests were misplaced who will be fired from public offices. In any case he is just not sure they can align to his program. Even coaches sale good players who they have no plans for.it’s not like he fires and leave the vacancy empty he replaces with another better person.

  32. Please it is firing. All political appointees are replaced when government changes hands. This will continue until all political offices are filled. Would you work with your opponent’s friends? It is politics and that is how it works. Sorry guys but it is the reality

  33. Please batata baSata, can you also move to the Daily Mail and the Times. At the Daily Mail don’t spare Mataka. He is the one who used to concoct stories about homosexuality, witchcraft and such rubbish. He was working in cahoots with Sam Phiri the PS. Twakunkula fwe bana benu, banyompolenipo aba bamukuukulu, bamwansakabinga, bantalamisoka.

  34. Chinekeeeee LT your headline pls did you just call my dad oooh sorry my president SATE ? change it you will be replaced or fired. Don’t say I did not warn you oooo.

  35. Kwandangala @42, the idea is to let them first stew in their own piss. They know they have no jobs for sure. But like the saying goes, a coward dies a thousand times. So this strategy is truly killing them inside but there is absolutely one fat big ZERO they can do about it except await their fate – ZNBC, Daily Mail, Times, Mail, ZANIS, Army, Air Force, ZNS, OP, Citizens Economic (dis)-Empowerment Commission – I love it! And, oh, Kwandangala, let’s not forget all those MMD cadres now polluting our diplomatic service!! I have it on good authority, they are ALL coming home!

  36. some bloggers have gone back to UNIP days…blind support.Whatever Sata does they will shout amen even if he dropped shit in your mouth you will still be happy.Try to be analytical for once.Sometimes its not what one does but how he does it.This is just a general observation

  37. Chi #46 u ar a cadre jst by readin yo sensless response to the article one can tell. Pipo on LT do nt spend time on this useless Chills he neva tho Mr Sata wil rule the country. U lost and its over. and u tell u the truth, mmd will never exist again chalipwa

  38. Mr. President please deal with the army too. Those soldiers that just roam and just seat around the barracks doing absolutely nothing but drinking and having sex with school kids and other peoples wives should start doing something productive PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
