North-Western Provincial Patriotic Front (PF) Youth Chairman Victor Kayekesi has strongly condemned the attacks on President Michael Sata and his government by North westerners.

Mr Kayekesi said is very unfair for people in the province to start attacking President Sata and his government and claiming that he does not like them by not appointing anyone from the region in his cabinet.

He told ZANIS in an interview in Solwezi yesterday that PF government is barely two months in power and must be given a chance to implement its developmental policies effectively with the support of all Zambian regardless who they voted for.

“It’s very unfair to President Sata for people in the province to rush and start attacking him and his government barely two months in power.

“ Unnecessary attacks on government will not do us any good as a province, meaningful development will only come to this region if we support the government of the day,” Mr Kayekesi noted.

Mr Kayekesi has since appealed to Traditional leaders in the province to desist from being used by selfish politicians who are inciting people in the province to revolt against the PF government.

He said Chiefs play an important role in issues of national development and that government stands ready to work with them in all matters of national interest aimed at improving people’s lives especially in rural areas.

Mr Kayekesi has since warned people in the province calling for the Mushala rebellion way of presenting their grievances to government to desist from doing so as the law will catch up with them.

Meanwhile Mr Kayekesi said the attitude of calling for the transfer of some non-North westerners holding influential positions from the province is uncalled for and that it must be condemned by all.

“North-western province is not an island, we need to be accommodate other people from different parts of this country who have come to work here as this is the only way we are going to develop our province,” Mr. Kayekesi advised.

  1. when are you appointing aba ku 6 oclock? please take this seriously mr. this is not an random incidence. these small voices are representative sample of democratic majority of zambia. better act quickly and not ignore.

  2. well spoken Victor, we are alive to the fact that you single handely to Mwinilunga and honestly speaking you deserve aka POTO. BA BAND LEADER.When are we expecting another album.?

  3. Why is Zambia being a victim of tribalism and all this nonsense. I mean, is it a must to put someone in cabinet just because he is from a certain region. Let the man choose people he is comfortable with, and not some pain in the ass!!!!

  4. Where does this Kayekisa live? On Mars or Jupiter? All positions of power have been filled in by people from other regions and you cannot see that? How blind are you? Two universities are going to be built in provinces where the president comes from with government funds that mainly come from your province and you are not seeing that? Northern province has been devided into two provinces to increase the amount of money going to northern province to improve the lives of the people there with money that comes mainly from your province and you dont see that. Northern province is one of the provinces that provides the least into government coffers but will have roads, universities and infrastructure including funds to run the new muchinga province and you dont see anything wrong with that.

  5. this kayekesi is a f.o..o.l who has been bought with 6 pin. This boy has never travelled to other provinces and he is making unsound noise. Where does he live?

  6. @ jomie. Dont try to be a smart ass with you shit tribal analysis. Use your brain to think and not your tribe. If one part of the country develops every citizen is free to go there and settle. Different tribes have permanently settled in Lusaka, Livingstone and CB because of development. If we go by your shit analysis it will be very difficult to take development to different parts of the country. Use your brain and not tribe. I thank you

  7. WHEN WILL THE PRESIDENT STAND UP AND SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE EMERGING TRIBAL RUMBLINGS AMONG ZAMBIAN PEOPLE. THIS IS A SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS TREND WHICH OUGHT TO BE STOPPED QUICKLY. WE NEED LEADERSHIP NOW!! WE CANT HAVE A PRESIDENT WHO PERPETUATES TRIBALISM AND KEEPS HIMSELF BUSY BY ENGAGING IN TRIVIAL MATTERS ON THE EXPENSE OF NATIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND RECONCILIATING THE ZAMBIAN DIVERSE CULTURES. WHAT HAS ZAMBIA DONE TO DESERVE SUCH A MEDIOCRE GOVERNMENT? I HAVE NEVER KNOWN ZAMBIANS TO BE TRIBALISTS AND YET THAT IS ALL I READ WHENEVER I OPEN LT OR ZWD AND I CANT BELIEVE THE DIATRIBE COMING ESPECIALLY FROM THE BEMBAS. IAM A BEMBA MARRIED TO A WOMAN FROM EASTERN PROMISE AND THERE ARE LOTS OF ZAMBIANS INTO MULTI TRIBAL MARRIAGES. ONE ZAMBIA ONE NATION!! THAT IS ALL WE HAVE.

  8. What the majority of the North-Western people are saying is being voiced through their chiefs, so what type of people and aurthority is the PF youth League chairman representing? Is he saying that he is wiser than the elders? These chiefs are not looking for favours from the PF government, they are looking at what affects their people whereas the PF chair young ‘man’ cant stand with the people because he has wrong motives (Muzungu ani konde). Don’t forget there in NW province “Muzungu wakubula kajo kumusebenzela ne”! Ooolo! Mwanyike kukosama. Gues what it means. The seat will be very hot for this young man very soon.

  9. YOUNG VICTOR KAYEKESI DONT PORTRAY THE CHIEFS FROM NORTHWESTERN AS PROMOTING A REVOLT AGAINST PF GOVT AND SATA. THE FACT IS THEY HAVE HAD ENOUGH REBUFFS FROM THE PREVIOUS REGIMES. ALL THEY ARE DOING IS DRAWING THE ATTENTION OF GOVT TO TAKE MEANINGFUL DEVELOPMENT TO THE PROVINCE. NW IS CONTRIBUTING ALOT OT THE TREASURY YET OUT 7 DISTRICTS ONLY 3 ARE CONNECTED TO NATIONAL GRID. NO UNIVERSITY, MILITARY BRKS, NO BIF AIRPORT. TRUCK LOADS OF COPPER LEAVE THE PROVINCE AND PIPO ARE NOT BENEFITING. VICTOR YOU WONDER WHY U ARE LEFT OUT EVEN FOR DIPLOMATIC POSTING YET U ARE A STAUNCH PF SUPPORTER. WE NEED A BIGGER SHARE OF GOVT POSITIONS AND DEVELOPMENT. SOONNEWLY CREATED MUCHINGA PROVINCE WILL SURPUS NW. WE DONT VE EVEN A BIGGER TECHNICAL COLLEGE TO BOAST ABOUT NOT EVEN TEACHER/NURSING SCH. WAKEUP

  10. AS LONG AS NORTH WESTERN IS PART OF ZAMBIA AND IF THE PROVINCE DOES NOT RECEIVE A BIGGER SHARE OF NATIONAL CAKE ITS PEOPLE REGARDLESS OF TRIBES WILL KEEP ON PRESSURING THE GOVT OF THE DAY FOR ITS DEVELOPMENT. SATA SHOULD GET IT CLEAR THAT HE IS FATEHR OF THE NATION AND NO LONGER IN THE OPPOSITION AND SHOULD LEARN TO LISTEN TO CRIES FROM ALL CORNERS OF ZAMBIA’S 10 PROVINCES. SOLWEZI IS CONGESTED WITH MINING ACTIVITIES AND GOVT SOULD CONSIDER MOVING THE PROVINCIAL CAPITAL TO KABOMPO. ITS MORE CENTRAL LOCATED AND ONE CAN EASILY CONNECT TO MWINILUNGA, ZAMBEZI AND CHAVUMA, KAOMA/LIKULU, KASEMPA/MUMBWA AND LUSAKA. NATIONAL GRID CAN EASILY BE CONNECTED TO ZAMBEZI/CHAVUMA AND MWINILUNGA VIA SOLWEZI/KASEMPA – MUFUMBWE. WE NEED MORE SAY IN NATIONAL AFFAIRS AND NOT THREATS DONT SILENCE PIPO’S CRY

  11. What people are crying for is DEVELOPMENT.It does not which ever province voted for PF or MMD.Resources have to be shared equally. Why should a province that contributes the least to the national coffers be given a lion’s share.98 % all the electricity produced in Zambia come from Southern province! The province deserves a university in Livingstone,Choma and Mazabuka.People don’t damn care about political posts but real development. My advice to the young man,Victor Kayekesi is don’t think with your skull but your damn brain .Don’t think your chiefs are foolish by their cautious approach to supporting Sata.He is a ‘Cobra’

  12. Let NW speak with one voice. Say NO to intimidation, NO to resource plundering, NO to government that undermines it’s people. We need development equal to resources being realised from the region just as copperbelt was developed. You think we eat dust left behind those monister trucks which create craters all over that 1975 tarred roads.90 days is comming to an end, NW people are seing money leaving their pockets instead of otherwise.

  13. Cheifs are our fathers. Why should you disrespect them. Just because the president has done so doesn’t make it right. I respect our president Mr Sata but I don’t just support him blindly when he errs, because doing so is corrupting my moral and ethic values. Until we learn to be truthful in our hearts will continue looking for change that rsults only in retoric. The Victor type and father Bwalya mentality is just another version of the William Banda that stands to sprinkle darker spots on the PF ‘white linen’, if at all it’s white as some see it. Colour blind people.

  14. ……every year the profits that are realized from N/western mining, a good percentage must be retained in the province for improved infrastructure, tarring roads, colleges, universities, housing , hospitals, recreation facilities and safe environment it terms waste dispose. These are the issues chiefs and MPs from the province should table. Kayekesi should be bewitched, gone and forgotten. He is playing with peoples lives, so treat him first. N/W is good with magic. Do it no him and see no more nosense from anybody.

  15. the pipo of western province requires more economical and other development to be happy, but imwe balozi do u think u can make yo own zambia, that is not posssible stop decieving the young one u elders.fight for yo promise not creating yo lozi country impossible mweeeee.
