President Michael Sata has delegated Youth and Sports minister Chishimba Kambwili to represent him at the closing ceremony of the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

President Sata was invited by his Gabonese counterpart to attend the closing ceremony and final of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will take place in Libreville on February 12, 2012.

“Since I will not be availbale for this engagement, I have instructed the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports to represent me at this important event,” President Sata said.

And the Head of State has sent his best wishes and luck to the Zambia National Soccer Team in this evening’s quarter-final match with Sudan in Bata in mainlaind Equatorial Guinea.

“So far so good and as President of the Republic of Zambia as well as Patron of the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ), I wish to encourage the nation to rally behind our Chipolopolo boys even as they aim to lift the 2012 Orange Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) trophy,” the President says.

“Our boys have worked very hard to reach this stage and we can only wish them luck and victory. If our team reaches the finals, I pledge to fully support and facilitate the entry of the Zambian soccer fans into Libreville.”

  1. ‘Youth and Sports minister Chishimba Kambwili ‘ lol

I suppose now his job will be to scream at the chipolopolo if they loose….especially if they are ‘rude to a minister’…lol

  2.  Playing a poker game as usual. Why can’t he just go there himself. He would rather send him to a game of football instead of sorting out the welfare, dignity and restoring the pride of workers.

    • iwe chama this is not rb chende yende iwule. Sata just came from Addis. it is too much. Ngani RB he would have just connected straight without coming to Zambia.

  3. Thats what we need to send the most favourable minister Kambwili ahahahahahaha…so we are winning AFCON this time with this baffoon in the stadium. Players will be serious to avoid punishment from Kambwili

  4. Ulukasu still has a job contrary to the speculations of the bloggers on the previous article. let him get there instead of fighting with chinese at home. hope he does not fire mousour harve r.

  5. No, players do not need intimidation when they play for their clubs or country. They must have fun and enjoy the play.

  6. Sata is not a soccer fan. When last did you see him at a soccer game or which team does he support locally or internationally. none.

  7. Hippo kambwili now sent as a supporter..maybe u can do fyn in vuvuzela.the labour min requires intellectuals not kaponyas.

    • Liz, yeah, I think the same thing but I have a feeling that would be a treribly tough sell for a 6 year old. AND: I would be the one doing it, and considering how Tom doesn’t help with the poultry butchery, well, I am just not up for it. One day, though.John, I agree. I’ve been kind of busy around here and appreciate the help!

  8. It is not a sin for Sata not to be a soccer fan. Don’t make an issue.he quit smoking so no fears of legalising ganja. Next he might quit lying and he becomes the best.

  9. Our very own Tiger Kambwili is really biting.three ministirial positions is 90 days..!! he must enter the guinness book of world records lol!! Goodluck to
    you sir….

  10. He should not be allowed to speak in Gabon! Lest he will throw a salvo against the Chinese or just say something un toward and embarrass us again! He was demoted from the Foreign Affairs Ministry to Youth Sport and still had a department of labour removed to render him totally powerless. He is having all his wings clipped at every turn. Would it not have been better to slide the “bull in a china shop” off the radar altogether for being uncultured, crude and incompetent? The man has demonstrated he is not cut of “ministirial cloth”. Let him go, why is he being shielded mollycoddled?

  11. Excellent! Kambwili has been behaving like a hooligan so this job sounds about his speed. Plus we get him out of the country for a few days.

  12. Zambia iam in support of you up to the final, bring the trophy in respect of those perished in Gabone on 28.04.1993.And its a good idea for the PRESIDENT to send someone to represent him on his behalf.ZAMBIA GO FORWARD

  13. Sorry ba LT,,, I’ve to do what you know me for……. NOT; “Since I will not AVAIBALE,,,,…” in the 3rd sentence,,but; “available” sounds more suiting to the situation…

  14. “Mwebantu sata neva creatd the dnt kubeba slogan,he jst adoptd it frm musician frm the copperbelt, frm there the sayn went 2da streets.any1 cn adopt it cz no1 knws the true owner of dis sayin(dont kubeba) if fact pipo frm copper/b cal it donchi kubeba.” I COPIED THIS FROM ZAMBIANWATCHDOGS ONLINE BLOG. “DONCHI KUBEBA” WAS COINED BY Dr GUY SCOTT IN ONE OF HIS POST ZAMBIA EDITORIALS. Under normal circumstances I would have comment right there on ZWD. But ZWD is such a stuupid blog and mostly better left for fuulish bloggers who seem to out number descent ones on that blog.

  15. Nevers Mu mba is a lia r and a mon ey lau ndering ma chine

Him and the de puty Mr Nz oya are ste aling tax pa yers money. They had fired Mr Tem bo beca use he knew about this sc am and was aga inst it. They also have a office slut , Caro lina Rod- riguez who is also abus ing the money. The Ottawa Zam bian mis sion are th ieves

  16. Here is someone who has been demoted from Foreign affairs to Labour humiliated to Sports and he sees no need to resign, only in Africa only in Zambia. So what happens when he has an argument with the incompetent FAZ committee?? Why not just go to the back bench and represent your people in Roan, who will appreciate your efforts.
The president has opted to move ministries around just to accommodate one man at our expense, just because Sata fears that Kambwili would be far deadlier as a rebel backbencher…really disappointed with Sata and his so called useless advisers; just too much deadwood in cabinet.

  18. Good afternoon

At least today we can all join hands with our Head of State in support of our boys in Gabon. It will be a great joy to see Rainford & Co. dismantle Sudan very soon…

Muhammad Ali used to say “it ain’t bragging if you can back it up!”… so let’s go Zambia! Back it up again and bring that trophy home!

  19. He can send him to AFCON but he must keep away from the team. We do not want people interfering and pointing fingers at the coach and team.

  20. Very soon sport will be taken away from kabwili. After sometime youth will be taken away too.Them he will remain mimister of nothing.Shiiiii!!!Donchi kebeba.

  21. Just imagine if after a team of soccer players who were on a trip for battle, who were stopped by unexplained force of nature/human. Then left for dead because of misinformation. Just imagine if another team, but this time comprising of the children of the dead heroes, was sent back to the same place where they conquered the Africa cup in the same place where they left the bodies of their fathers. If this came true I would call that story “Libreville”

  22. Zambia is good but not good enough. They might reach the finals with luck but never been good enough to win the cup. Nuff said.

  23. By the way, (in addition to my comments @41 above) Zambia’s colonial master (England) is that way too. The English just don’t win international championships.

  24. Let Kambwili go. But he should never visit camp for the boys. Because Herve Renard is another, he can send Kambwili home and after the tornament Kambwili can send Renard home.

  25. Look people seeing Kambwili represent our Presido ba shikulu ba Sata at Afcon is excellent move in both ways. First ba Sata has truly demonstrated how the country should be governed. It’s now always the case that the Presido has to attend such events, send yo Min of Sport that is why he’s there for plus it’s just a distraction because the whole thing then becomes political and subsequently playing protocol. Zambia team needs tootal concentration. And am sure Zambia will beat Ghana as long as Kalaba plays.

  26. wtuaasmaem on November 29, 2009 Hyundai, Kia have virtually got nothing to blame these days, actually the best car money can buy,, but any other choice?you are simply throwing away the best value option, period, Don’t be a fool to go by old stale name brand, You can not afford to fool youself in the toughest economy now

  27. Excellent way of telling, and nice paragraph to get information on the topic of my presentation subject, which i am going to deliver in institution of higher education.|
