A thunderous welcome awaits the newly crowned Champions of African football when Air Chipolopolo touches down at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport at about 13:15 from Gabon.

Zambia emerged victorious in last night’s Africa Cup of Nations finals against Ivory Coast.

The Chipolopolo boys shot down the elephants via penalty shootouts after 120 minutes of entertaining football ended in a stalemate.

The Chipolopolo Boys Coached by French man Herve Renard made history by ending Zambia’s wait for the elusive prestigious African trophy.

Celebrations in the capital Lusaka and other towns have continued from the early hours of today when the Copper Bullets were crowned Kings of Africa football.

Fans blowing vuvuzelas and Honking have characterized Lusaka as fans express their excitement at what will remain a memorable day in Zambia’s history.

And QFM News reports that fans have lined up along the Great East road to catch a glimpse of the victorious Chipolopolo boys.

The procession from the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport is expected to proceed to the show grounds were some activities have been lined up including the official presentation of the trophy to Vice President Guy Scott.

And scores of jubilant fans have walked to Kenneth Kaunda international Airport to welcome the champions of African football.

And some of the fans talked to said the national team had done the nation proud by winning the cup for the first time in Zambia’s history after making it to the finals in 1974 and 1994.

Love Tembo has Told QFM that Zambia’s victory has put the Chipolopolo boys under spot light especially with the European clubs.

He said that should opportunities come up it will be important that the boys are exposed to western soccer to advance their skills.

Another soccer fan Mutale Monde has observed that recalling of Herve Renard was worth it and that government should ensure that it revises his package to stop him from going for greener pastures.

He noted that the French coach has built the confidence of the team a situation that caused the team to beat African soccer giants Senegal, Ghana and Cote’ d’voire during the tournament.

And more fans have congratulated the national team for doing the country proud and have hoped that the team works towards making its first ever appearance at the next world cup.

The fans had this to say to the chipolopolo copper bullets.

  1. # 1 i agree with you. Zambian football is now on a different level. It is encouraging to see pipo wear our own Zambian t-shirts and NOT SOUTH AFRICA. This shows that we are finally proud of our flag and team

    • aha but iwe ***** you have nothing to say ai..wats wrong with tongas kansi?you pipo you will die of heart attacks even before sata finishes his 5 term tenure of office.

    • N.yi.ni Yamako Iwee. Why are you so st.u.pi.d, whats wrong with your fu.ckin., brian?? You waht to get Insults?? st.u.pid Fo.ol

  2. while zambia featured players from african teams, save for mayuka and chamanga, ghana, senegal and ivory coast featured players plying their trade in europe with various big clubs. name them, they are there.
so its only prudent to state here that WE HAVE CONQUERED EUROPE! viva chipolopolo.

  3. Job well done Guys. You have made us happy. Its great to belong to a country like ZAMBIA. Two happy moments within a space of time. Don’t kubeba, don’t kumwambila

  4. @5 Kashimani
HE MCS will not attend this function because he does not want to steal the boy,s thunder
The President does not want to hog the lime light or make it about him
What is strange about this mwebuntu leave our President alone ! Instead of celebrating you want to bring the our head of state into your empty non-sense
You are the strange one mate

  5. WELL done Zambia.Wish I was there in Lusaka to give that thunderous welcome.Never mind that Sata won’t be there though all eyes on the country are on the national team.Zambia is proud today, negaative comments on Sata are reserved for another day.I walk tall in the streets of capetown with my chipolopolp cap!

  6. MATURE 5.1 YOU CAN NOT TELL ME TO LICK HH’S ASS FOR WONDERING WHY SATA WILL NOT ATTEND THE FUNCTION. SO AM TELLING YOU TO FU.CK YOUR MUM AND LICK HER ASS BECAUSE THAT IS YOUR LANGUAGE YOU BASTARD

    • Kashimani,
if I were you, I would not lose my dignity over a person who insults and has no manners. Others might now bundle you together with insolent chaps.

      Sorry mate.

  7. @5 KANSHIMANI????You want to Mess-up can’t you just celebrate properly? Some of you ZAMBIANS REALLY SURPRISE US HOW YOU ARE SO NEGATIVE? THE PRESIDENT WHAT TO INVOLVE EVERYONE?? HE HAS GIVEN TASK TO FORMER PRESIDENTS AS RESPECT FOR THEM.

    • Well said bro, the man even burried the hatchet and invited RB to attend the final alongside KK, what more do you people want, let the boys take the limelight this is not political, this is about the boys having made us proud, this is about football unifying a nation…. i guess this idea is foreign to some minds..!!!

  8. I also think SATA should be present at show grounds or whereever the boys are going. This goes beyond politics-it’s a NATIONAL achievement for crying out loud. Fine, we understand why he chose not ot go to Gabon by sending the former prezidos and Scott, Kambwili and all of them. But now, our NATIONAL team has brought glory and honour to out COUNTRY-ZAMBIA. He (Sata) should be the one to lead the celebrations. Instead he is campaigning? True SATA is a strange one! But all in all, he’s not as brainless as chi HH, i cant stand that mothelicker with an ‘f’.

  9. May be Sata will have a surprise for the team. He can’t just keep quiet. He may even be at the lunch organised by his wife. Wait and see.

  10. kashimani, gundix has made my day . LOL!! anyway, its a cost for always being negative on everything. positive acts need positive responses my bro. you are on the wrong side of everything positive. iam sure you do not even appreciate the fact that you are born.

    • OH I GET ANGRY AS WELL WHEN SOMEONE LIKE USES INSULTS. IF YOU INSULT ME FOR GIVING A DIFFERENT VIEW YOU WILL RECEIVE DOUBLE THE DOSE AND DO NOT CALL ME BROTHER, BROTHERS NEVER CALL EACH OTHER NAMES AND NEVER LICK OTHER PEOPLE’S ASSES.

  11. All these so called African giants namely Senegal,Ghana and Ivory Coast have bn beaten by Zambia b4 and makes me wonder y they underrated us.We beat CIV in 1994 on our to the final against Nigeria so they should have known better.

  12. Great Kalu mwana waku Mufulira ku Mufcane has delivered where many have flopped! The comments on the sports blogs were:
Kalusha is just a good footballer he cant adminstrate. Some people think just because you are a great footballer then you can become a good manager. We will form our own national football league. Kalusha has never won any thing. With Kalusha as FAZ chief Zambian football is going nowhere. Look how we dropped on the FIFA ranking it wasn’t like this during Mulonga’s time. .Amishimya bonse bangwele. The great footballer has shown you how to MANAGE national football to ultimate success. Where are all those blabbermouths that featured prominently under any football story? Baingila muchani Some of them kept reminding us that Renard was just a PE teacher.

  13. The PE teacher has delivered where coaches have failed. Those going to the airport please wear white shirts for the fox!

  14. Chipolopolo wiil b the first african team 2 make it in the World Cup semi finals we have now reconnected the past and the future is now bright. Thank u our beloved team ….2013 ili mubackyard ka.

  15. Let them not even let us go to the world cup semis, cause we will be on our way back home in 2014 with the world cup, pele and maradona escorting the team; Brazilian women remembering their motherland home shaking their other big booties that reside outside Africa to a Chipolopolo song Samba style on the streets of Rio.

  16. Where is Simata Simata, Gift Kampampa, Kamanga, Mr. Sichula, Pivoty Simwanza and all those good administrators who were saying Zambian footbal is going to the dogs? I end there and let every one make their own judgment.

  17. Forgiveness bane. Forgiveness. You and I don’t know why God allowed it this time. This profound performance certainly goes beyond and above human talent. Let us not ruin the spirit of celebration. Any institution will have differences of opinion. Miti Ipalamene taibula …… Its absolutely true that one way or the other you likely to rub someone the wrong way or step on their precious little toes. For now it’s Forward bane Forward……God bless Zambia, God bless the National team, God bless the Leadership.

  18. God is so wonderful, I hope a great Zambian preacher would step up and preach a message of how masterfully God designed this African cup win. From beating Senegal the team old Chipolopolo were going to play. To being underdogs, and Winning in Libreville for the whole of southern Africa. Ine namu Senga Mutumbuka na temwa chomene. Thanking the Chinese for being real even treating Zambian workers harsh like their own because our labor laws were weak. But they Chinese are helping build Zambia too. Stadia.

  19. @ Destiny well Amen to Jesus. I didn’t even see it that way. At times we forget you don’t need a multitude for the word to be spread just one voice and a set of ears. The here goes :

Zambia was to face Senegal in 1993 but the team Perished of the Coast of Gabon, Libreville. A French Speaking nation. We started of by playing and defeating Senegal God had this planned out as only he can masterfully for his glory. Oh!!!!!! We have a French Coach, who also now believes there is a God out there on his way to salvation. Then we played the Final in Gabon were our heroes perished and God also let the game have drama for he is a cheerful humorous Jehovah. Drogba missed a penalty, then Mweene saved one as our savior was shielding him. Glory to Jesus we won in Gabon.

  20. I might have a calling to be a teacher of the Word of God after Witnessing a miracles and wonders and more wonders and favor from Jehovah over Zambia, southern Africa and the whole of the continent. Africa won Yesterday, even Ivorians should be celebrating because it shows like the Egyptians have for hears that now the continent is truly connected from the Cape to Cairo Road to Cairo Egypt. The other country with the seventh wonder of the world mosi-o-tunya has won the Africa cup. Chipolopolo iyeeeeeeeeeeeee. Tears are rolling down my eyes again God is great imwe Bantu.

  21. God did not make zambia win neither did he make ivory coast lose. God did not make drogba or kalaba miss penalty. Zambia won bcoz they played well and took well their penalties resulting in goals and eventually a win. God is beyond time and space. Do not confine God to zambia or rather blessing zambia alone at the expense of other teams.

  22. Congratulations Chipolopolo and Zambia. We watched the final here in America on the edge of our seats. Both teams played well and you must give the Ivoirians credit for they did not roll over and let you win so easily. But what I saw also is that you can take what your team did on the pitch and apply it to everyday life. Zambians do not give up. Zambians do not stop trying. Even when the difficulties mount, Zambians dig in, bear down and keep the pressure on. And because Zambians don’t let up, Zambia can and will succeed! God bless Zambia!

    • Hi Ashley,I just thought I’d mtienon that triplets are not rare in the caprine world:) For a deep bodied, hardy doe like T-Bell, I expected triplets she can handle them easily!!

This site is controlled and filtered of most negative comments, just like the president’s staged town hall meetings, where Democrats are gathered and given questions to read by the White House staff. It is interesting that most of the blogs come from overeseas, where Mr. Obama is more popular than he is here in the US.
