President Michael Sata going to lay a wreath at the Freedom Statue in Lusaka

President Michael Sata this morning led dignitaries, senior government officials and service chiefs in laying wreaths at the Freedom Statue in honor of the country men and women who died during the struggle for the country’s independence.

The 48th Independence Day is celebrated under the theme “celebrating 48 years of independence with vision, hard work and unity”.

In attendance were Vice president Guy Scot and his wife Charlotte, acting Chief Justice Lombe Chibesakunda and deputy speaker of the National Assembly Mkondo Lungu among others.

And in delivering a sermon, Director of Chaplin at the Zambia Air Force Eugene Nyambe noted that there is no worse evil against national unity than citizens dividing themselves on political, tribal, regional and social economic grounds.

Fr. Eugene stated that the nation would be headed for doom if citizens start engaging themselves in acts against what the freedom fighters fought for.

  1. Thank you Chaplin Eugene Nyambe for reminding us – wise words indeed. By the way, since Her Excellence Banda bounced us, did we have any replacement guest of honour? I have in mind the types of Mr Bob Mugabe.

  2. This means nothing to me, I am busy looking forward to the St Georges day in UK here

I have tried to meet Zambians here , but it seems they segregate me and have unfounded hatred for me, when during the conversation I remind them I am studying for my PhD and engaged to a whiteman, they quickly get in the withdrawn syndrome

A few women I have also met work in nursing homes, are cleaners etc when they see me they hide I don’t quiet understand this

    I need answers

    Thanks

    • Nkumba tikudya not ma ofoz; by Petersen will help you. you are not marriage material. You are  full of sh##$$t Mushota. I sometimes wonder if you are a Zambian lady, or just some over zelous ugly foreign man. So, for you doing the so called PhD in prostitution is good enough to be a brag of everyday!!!

    • @ #3 Mushota
The only explanation I can come up with regard to your comments is that you just want to rile some people up and obviously get a lot of satisfaction from doing so. Most of your bigoted, extremely offensive, downright ignorant and racist sentiments have me believing there is something gravely wrong with your head. And if there is any modicum of truth in the statement that you are studying for a Phd then, I sincerely question the credentials of your university and your supervisor. I pity the poor Whiteman you are engaged. My heart bleeds for your children who will grow up under your tutelage, licking the whiteman’s ass.

    • What a fake you are; you claim to live in Scotland and you claim to date a Scottish man and you are looking forward to an English feast day St George’s day which the English themselves are too embarrassed to celebrate! Grow up boy!

    • Don’t worry Mushota at least you celebrate something even if it makes you in the minority. Next month (Nov 30th) I will celebrate St Andrews for you.

    • Hehehe careful what you wish for Mushota, St Georges day is when they send foreigners home (most especially black ones who live in Scotland) hahaha

  4. @ Mushota you are pretending to be a coconut, let me tell you why Zambians are avoiding you.. ITS BECAUSE YOU SUCH A PAIN IN THE BUTT TO THOSE WHO KNOW YOU..! this can only mean one thing to a sane person like me…you suck..! its not unfounded truth rather try GROWING UP and stop rubbing in the faces of people…you act like the first person to be highly educated and engaged to a white chap…Black is bigger and better Mushota…

  5. I would like to salute each and everyone who is contributing on this fora except MUSHOTA.
Guys its our indipendence day and nobody else’s. we will only have one zambia, please do not be swayed by greedy politicians like Nevers and HH stop our country from attaining greater heights. They did thier part thus, fattening their pockets. now its our time to do the right thing. SUPPORT THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY…PEACE TO U ALL

  6. I had a beautiful dream last night that we will certainly get to the promised land under the stewardship of this great man Michael Sata. We have come a long way indeed and happy 48th Independence Day.

    • @11. Maxwell, I am afraid to bust your bubble. Indeed what you had was just a dream! With that step in the above picture you will certainly get to Ukwa’s promised utopia but only in a 100 years from now! That is certainly a dream but in my book ; it is a nightmare!

  7. Mushota the reason why Zambians in the UK dont want you near them is that they know you are studying a PHD in prostitution! You also have a bad mouth and sound uncultured. You are a shame not only to the womenfolk but to your family as well. You have no manners not even bad ones!!Shame on you.To be frank you actually very hugry!!

  8. why are comments being held hostage by the site moderator yet Mushota’s silly comments are uploaded in a blink of an eye…? get real ba LT…NOW!!!!

  9. People ignore number 4 Mushota, she suffers from psychological disorder called attention deficit, hence she wants to attract people’s attention a sign that her cognitive is off the rail line to an extent where she exhibit anti-social behavior so as to get recognition. Happy birth day Mother Zambia and respect to our freedom fighters and our presidents present and the past.

  10. Happy independence day to all Zambians!
While on the same I’d like to advise people not to comment on this Mushota figure! I honestly don’t think she even exists at all! It’s must be a fake profile or if she does really exist, then she is looking for attention because she does exhibit psychological anomalies! Some inferiority complex…Anyway, whoever is behind that name is feeding off the comments and reactions…they are probably sitting and laughing out loud! It keeps them going! Honestly, no normal person talks that way…come on! Well, I have never come across any myself! The best treatment to give them is to completely ignore them! Who knows! Maybe it’s even a creation by LT themselves (and I am just saying!) to make this forum entertaining!:-?

  11. Happy independence day – celebrating or not. Don’t worry about Mushota. There is proof that a point of no return exists…

  12. Mushota, thank you for your educated insight, but your comments, on a daily basis, are snobbish, a show off, unattached to the Zambian identity, spoilt, etc!! For all we care, you can go ahead and celebrate the “Gay Pride” day!! So what if some of the Zambians you know or have met work in the fields you “show-off-ishly” talk about? One has to eat, bills to pay. It’s good that you’re studying for your PhD and engaged to a white man, bravo!! Maybe you deserve all the credit for being where you are, but, if you have nothing constructive to say, SHUT UP!! Besides, you have already said you have nothing to do with anything Zambian, so here’s advice for free: Leave those of us who have Zambia at heart talk. After all, we care enough to know and embrace where our roots lie. Happy B/day Z!!

  13. Before I answer you, I want you to let you know how much I sacrifice for doing, knowing that I’m not even 30% as important as I am to you like you are to me, but you asked me to be honest, and I will be so here is my answer
Regrettably I am being tried pointed at, questioned and have the most unwashed masses I could ever meet anywhere anytime anyplace on this blog
Let me educate you, and apologise that my doing well, has rubbed most of you the wrong way. You may call it boasting, but I am merely trying to arouse your appetite to aspire to the heights I have reached.
I wish Zambia well, but It means nothing to me.
Most of you are remnants of people that troll, utter frivolous without a purpose all in the name of understanding the omniscience and elegant success I enjoy

    Thanks

  14. Mushota is suffering from a chronic verbal diarrhea and needs a personality transplant. Fellow Zambains from today please ignore her comments. Her best qualification ever has been bagging a white man (only God knows what his family and friends REALLY think about her). I can see her sitting with them putting on a fake accent and sounding like a Chinese, feel sorry for her, she came from the compounds and managed to get on a plane to the UK, and has obviously not been back for a while. In the UK a girl like her it called a slapper!

    • BOOM
You are tool, remnants is correct, and go away you bug
      You walking vomit
Find out what Remnants are, the remains…

You are debunking me, yet learning, Your yearnings at disparaging my vocabulary is going to land you in trouble, cringe and stop fawning with your little manhood

      You are ignorant

      Thanks

      Go away you bug

  15. @Mushota#21
You have no clue as to how simple punctuations marks are used in a sentence. You cannot even spell the term/word ruminant correctly, instead you spell it as “remnants”. Who is your supervisor? What is your research topic or your dissertation? What are you sacrificing? Please, Mushota, carefully study your first sentence in your above post number#21. The entire post does not make any sense, it is absolutely hog wash. Which person will avoid another person for no apparent cause? You seem to be trapped in self defeating imaginations.

  16. Mushota. Rubbish stinks! Some Zambians are shunning you? From the stink spewing from you writing, need we say more?

  17. @Mushota#21
You my number one chosen gullible character and I will make you unhappy every time you think of blogging on any Zambian site. I will be your shadow because you are insulting yourself and other concerned figures who respect Zambians or Zambia. If we all pretend to ignore you, it will not work in our diverse interests but it will be viewed as approving your lies and madness. Everytime your post your trash I will respond in the manner that fits your low life character. By the way, you live in a town near the border between the UK and Scotland. Your vocabulary is not of academic standards, and it is clear that your boyfriend is just using you for nothing because it is cheaper to keep you unlike a typical British woman.
