Former Rupiah Bwezani Banda, has said that he wishes to thank all Zambians for the solidarity shown to him during the period leading to and after the lifting of his immunity.

The former Zambian head of State, whose immunity was lifted by 80 of the Zambian Parliament’s 159 members on Friday evening, says he is deeply touched by the support that has come his way since the debate over the subject began.

“I watched the immunity debate on television in the company of my family and young colleagues. I could not help but admire and pricelessly appreciate the manner in which the opposition members of Parliament debated. I also received numerous phone calls of solidarity. I can give back nothing but my gratitude for the gesture,” President Banda says.

President Banda has further appealed to all Zambians to remain calm and show love towards one another. He adds that while he has the strength to withstand his new status, he wishes to remind all Zambians to equally have the strength to exercise self-restraint at all times and remember that Zambia is more precious than any individual interests.

  1. You shouldnt be thankful Rupiah ! You should face the law.No need to ask for sympathy now. That will happen after it is proven that you are innocent after all.Let the law take its course for now.You will have the victory to celebrate if you are innocent.Your fear is making some of us to believe that you are guilty afterall. We want the court to determine that. All the best bwana.

    • you are a moon yellow boi….. just like the evil forces that are at the helm of things in this our country..

    • Ha ha ha.Funny how people are rushing to defend this man.Personally i`m not saying he is guilty. That up to the courts to find out.No need to have sleepless nights over a man you don`t even know apart from him being your former president and your perceived ally by virtue of your hate for the current government.Think above partisan politics.

    • Indeed Zambia is more precious than any individual interests, but you put your own interests first when looting,You never had a heart for the Deaf like in the picture but your Mpundus only ,if only you had built a trust for all the orphaned children in Zambia. You chose to hide our money in Singapore ,you are worse than the devil himself.

    • Sad that our attention has been diverted from real economic issues at hand.
Price controls and shortages, political killings, carnage on our roads e.t.c.
It’s the usual dirty political game!

    • @masala mwaiche! am sure these are exciting times for you to a point of sleeplesness. Its going to a very long road for everyone and i can tell you now, that PF govt will lose, in that they won`t recover nothing compared to the amount of money and time they will send.Nchito will be made rich once again.
Get me right, am not a RB worshipper neither am a PF disciple, am a free head. For YOUR zambia to develop and develop properly, there must be a rule of law which should applies to all! All those will corruption questions marks on their heads should be made account for their actions,, eg kabimba, GBM, mmembe, HH, RB,,,etc and for Sata he better die in office, otherwise i see him in the hague.. wait and see

    • ….I AM SO HAPPY THAT THIS I.D.I.O.T WILL BE TAKEN TO COURT. HE STOLE TOO MCUH WITHIN 2 YEARS. I REMEMBER MEETING HENRY BANDA AT POLO GRILL AND THEY WERE BRAGGING ABOUT THE MONEY. THANKS MR PRESIDENT. YOU HAVE MY VOTE…

    • The lack of equal treatment before the law is DIAMETRICALLY OPPOSED to the “law taking its course”.Why is Mmembe & Nchito not subject to the same standards?

    • Elo nga nabamulasafye naka child abuse. 59 years diiference with his so called wife for a sitting president, ni child abuse. I think this is an interesting case to consider.

    • Elo nga nabamulasafye naka child abuse. 59 years diiference with his so called wife for a sitting president, ni child abuse. I think this is an interesting case to consider.

    • Suffering because of who? you are just a punk, muzayamba kunya manzi chabe – already no mealie meal, and yet RB left a lot of maize. The reserves at BOZ have already been chewed by PF and yet RB left US dollar 2.5billion. Mulibe nzeru imwe a Shi double!

  2. the solutions to zed’s problems lies in the earliest death of pf figureheard president(sata) and the ashering in of a new president who can make a decisions without worshing the false god at bwinjifumua.all the four presidents never worshiped god mmembe, why?

    • But what’s wrong with u guys.? How can u wish someone dead- well God is in control u might actually die before Sata and treat this as fact…stay blessed in the mean time

    • we are milions wishing this evil one, tribalist, vengeful man, hypocrit, liar, dead, are you teling me that we may all die b4 him?infact wait and see how many wil celebrate after his death.

    • Dont wish for the death of others. You may find yourself dying earlier than the person you wish to die. You have caught a dry fish because SATA is not dying soon.

    • @the truth hates… Sata will die weather you like it or not, the man has cancer and pray that its not related. One clear sign that his death is near is that he is scared of people without hair. People who are just about to die do and say strange things….

    • Everyone of us will die at one time or another. Wishing Sata death wish will not solve any problem. And lest we forget, Rupiah’s corruption and extravagancy was there for all to see and he was not even ashamed of it. And tell the families of the lozis he murdered about his innocence. Funny how we want to idolize him now when everyone was crying foul when he was president including his own party members. Ask Mulongoti, Mpombo, Magande etc.

  3. I have no sympathy for a thief
I know most black men are thieves and especially Zambian but this man has lost my support, arrest him and let him rot in jail for all i care

Pathetic ,another reason one would be insane e trust a Zambian man

    Anyone with a puke bucket?

    Well done Mr Sata
    Thanks

    • I we mushota or whatever you call yourself waba akanyo ukufota how can you say such trash about we Zambian men where have you seen Zambians men stealing so na bawiso nishi nibakabwalala ka? bushe ngaba kutomba ku tusungu utukote nishi wasalapukasana ata. respect yourself bitch and never insult as Zambian men.

    • @mushota,,, No bananas for you my monkey girl, thats not a balanced PhD comment. one question for you for half a banana if you answer it correctly, when is one called a thief ?, Donot laugh at black men again, let me tell one thing you donot know about your white men,, they love anal sex, so donot go back to zambia with matumbo hang dropping with cancer from your back bottom,, donot say i didnot tell,

    • I AM SO HAPPY THAT THIS I.D.I.O.T WILL BE TAKEN TO COURT. HE STOLE TOO MCUH WITHIN 2 YEARS. I REMEMBER MEETING HENRY BANDA AT POLO GRILL AND THEY WERE BRAGGING ABOUT THE MONEY. THANKS MR PRESIDENT. YOU HAVE MY VOTE.

    • Since your father is black then he is a thief includng your badhikulu, bayama bobe, abepwa, nama brothers yobe.

    • This Mushota was hoping Sata can start bonking her but unfortunately, the guy wants all men castrated so that like him no man should use their third legs.
RB has himself to blame; a Ngoni was old a long time ago that you never leave an enemy behind- Shaka always practiced this concept. He needed to clear Mmembe and clique when he had the powers; now he has to dance to their tune until the Zambian people see in these guys pants.
See what Sata is doing to his ‘enemies’, he is locking and possibly poisoning them daily through the prison officers. No opposition leader will be alive by 2016 elections.

  4. President of all Zambians, some say its the beginning of the end. Sometimes we cannot control what happens to us, we are all but players in this game called life. The don’t want you to retire peacefully, so come back to the political ring.

  5. thought of commenting and get some likes so kindly like my comment as you did like Mr. Sata when he in opposition!!!!!!!!!

  6. Our dear RB is our God-given torch bearer of wisdom, genuine kindness and peace. Our memory is clear when FTJ Chiluba, through the advice of Sata, tortured RB along with Senior Chief Inyambo Yeta during the Black Mamba saga. This prompted RB to live a humble life in Chipata. Apparently, the new Catholic Pope Francis shares the same attributes of RB for opting to live a simple life with the poor.

The year is still comprised of 365 days – NOT a 1,000 days. These trials are ephemeral. Besides, the deaths of Mwanawasa and FTJ were too sudden to the shock of the nation. If history repeats itself those who are feasting on the PF’s dining table at the expense of our tax payers money will suddenly find themselves ecologically grazing on dry pastures impregnated with cyanide.

    • @mwansa… well said, but Telling PF disciples to think clear forgive if possible and do the right thing is like telling the jews to forgive and not hang jesus at the time. The Devil has hardened their hearts

  7. I dnt understand zambians..real issue z,shud we jst leave pipo & let em’ walk freely even if they have stolen 4rm ‘us’ jst bcoz we may waste mo resources in tryin 2 correct a wrg??4 me i feel its bst RB 2 face de law..whether losing mo resources o nt..we shud len 2b acountable

    • we are not against the removal of rb’s imunity.but the selective persecution.mmembe and nchito are criminals condomed(protected)by cancer infected sata.

    • MerzafY, you do not need to necessarily still from government to launder money. Money laundering simply means money one has comes into without explaining its source.

  8. Should we be comforted by these words from Bwezani that justice will prevail or he’s trying to make us feel intimidated? Anyway, the truth will always rise above whether innocent or not, i for one am very calm because when all is said and done, atleast a part of that which was stolen will be recovered, be it now or after 20years, am also very happy that those with intentions to steal can now think twice, this is better than Anti corruption, cos they only probe after one has already snatched the bag!

    • You’ve already convicted him yet have haven’t formally had proceedings, seen the evidence or adequately and objectively weighed the balance of probabilities.

  9. I HAVE NEVER SUPPORTED RUPIA B BUT APAPENA YOU ARE JUST MAKING HIS LIFE DIFFICULT FOR NOTHING. WHY DON’T CONCENTRATE ON DEVELOPING INSTEAD OF
TYING TO JAIL INNOCENT PEOPLE LIKE RB. TO YOU MR. RB WORRY NOT GOD WILL FIGHT FOR YOU. SAY HAI MADAM TANDI I MISS YOU GUYS

    • You are not serious. If we let Rupiah scot free, how much do you think Sata or the next president will still. How can you forget so easily when his corruption and extravagancy was there for all to see. Why not let the courts decide whether he’s innocent or not.

  10. & since many “zambians” claim t@ w@eva he stole z less than how much wil b used.now my concern z,shud leaders nt face the law in such cases bcoz mo resources wil b lost?meanin t@ leaders shud continue stealin since they wot b taken 2 courts in de name of “mo resources/monies wil b wasted” so y evn lift their immunity??is this how far wil b embracing thieves??

    • You have fallen for Mmembes propaganda. Your ancestors chose Barrabas over Jesus. You will forever be part of a mob and never think on your own.

    • Merzaf, and you have fallen for Judas. Let the system determine whether he is innocent or not because his corruption, abuse of office and extravagancy was there for all to see. Before elections, everyone including HH and his party were crying foul about Rupiah’s abuse. What has changed now?

    • Coachez. How can he have a fair trial when even from your comment it is clear you have already judged him as being guilty? Try to exercise the wisdom of Solomon.

  11. Accountability and transparency are vital for our develoment as a nation. This should start from our leaders. We need to ensure that we put in place mechanisms and institutions that strengthen our democracy. When FTJ’s immunity was removed LPM addressed the nation in parliament. That is the gravity of the situation. MCS has to address the nation. Let’s take governance seriously and not continue with this mediocre dispensation we have brought onto ourselves. It should not be about the removal of immunity but about making sure that corruption is difficult. It should not be about retribution bt about improving the quality of life of our people. 5 yrs from now the case will still be going on or due to lack of concrete evidence be thrown out. What will the state of the zambian people be then?

  12. The zambian legal system needs rehabilitation. The President is supposed to be the custodian of the law. Presidential Immunity should only apply in matters patterning to presidential erraneous functions and not culpable personal crimes. If the President indulges in any criminal activities, should resign or face impeachment and consequent legal prosecution. This nonsense of an ex-President being granted immunity for known criminal activities is primitive and ridiculous.

    • Does anyone really need this immunity thing if it can be so easily removed?
Let us remove everybody’s immunity so that we have a level playing field. A serving president should never have immunity so that if they misbehave while serving, they get booted out immediately. This would be a good incentive to promote good governance unlike what we see today. We should not wait until a lot of damage has been done.

  13. iwe wantalashi why can’t u also ask gbm and kabimba about the allegations against them. The former president, has again showed that he is a statesman, unlike ur cobra, whose ending will be bad. RB never stole from u,if u were a lizard in mmd, nothing will change ur status even now,u will still remain a lizard.

  14. I would like all those who are supporting Rupiah to tell us what they would rather see happen, let him walk.? Then what precedence are we setting as custodians.? Come on let’s get real fellas

    • What good came out of Chiluba’s case and he really stole. We see PF abusing office everyday, from the fact that its Fred Mmembe giving orders to the president so he doesn’t pay the K14billion,to the fact that we have a justice minister who had a crooked hand in the oil tender,we have a president who just swears in people. He isn’t leading the nation, giving us direction. We have a judge Chikopa here on the expense of tax payers. If you add everything up I’m sure PF owes us more.

    • We should treat him the same way as Wynter and GBM. Can you not see the hypocracy of the movers of the motion?

    • I do not know much, but my observation is that whatever is touched by the state is a bad thing, can’t we get started from somewhere to shoot an epoch out?

    • Big L, natural justice demands that your accuser cannot simultaneously be the judge and jury. The issue here is the lack of due process AND selective prosecution. Wynter freely admitted that he failed to report an “attempted” bride, yet the laws have not visited him on the matter (NB: attempting to break the law is a crime, and failure to report an attempted crime especially for a public official is also a prosecutable offence).

Justice should not only be fair, it should be SEEN to be fair!

  15. RB is a true statesman. We were truly blessed to have had him as president. You may not have been the best but you certainly aren’t the worst. We are sadened that what you achieved is being overlooked. You left sound reserves in the coffers,we never had mealie meal shortages like now,we had investor confidence and rule of law was observed.Political opponents were not persecuted like they are now.As more tax payers money is squandered with useless court cases we pray your strength and protection.

    • Rubbish Rantings…RB sold Zambians to foreigners. Chinese shooting Zambians and RB supports them, His children selling companies for a song just coz they a cut , etc. This is the man you say was a states guy…..Mmmm guys???

    • Let it happen now…..so that when it is their turn….we shall take the same course !! What goes around….comes around !!!

  16. My opinion-This gentleman RB enjoys playing to the gallery. I remember when he went out rightly on his knees begging for forgiveness on behalf of Zambians by what he deemed as insults by Sata to Bush. Now he is telling Zambians to cool it in their support against the lifting of his immunity. I mean, which Zambians his he addressing those in his support? He is full of himself. Time to humble yourself RB may be we may sympathize. You are“ internationally respected” by by those who see the intelligence in you and not all of us. Zambia will now set a record that its no place for long-fingered presidents and will internationally be recognized as such. We dont need good orators who are thieves.

    • It is not possible for RB not to have supporters. He has loads of them with you and fellow PF coribants and zealots excluded. Watch this space.

  17. zambians are so weak, how kud u forget so easily how this RB carelessly n corruptly handled zambian governance affairs? his children, friends, etc turned zambia in mafia style of state. let him answer and be cleared if inocent. he knows well what he did and he is scared.

    • Perhaps Zambians like other Africans are forgiving as they are godly. What benefit will Zambians get by incarcerating an old Presidents in retribution and hate?

  18. He is the one who ordered the shooting of those people in Barotseland and the Roger Chongwe commission found him culpable, together with Mr Lungu who is now deputy speaker. They should all face murder charges now. About this immunity, I would actually suggest we remove it completely from our statute books. Nobody should scale the political lader, murder citizens and loot their coffers and try to hide behind immunity once out of office, never!

  19. RB please just shut up. You were so corrupt a president. You never defended the interests of Zambians but those of foreigners. You gave your children power to steal from poor Zambians and now you want sympathy from Zambians, heey man , you were eating alone , so go defend yourself in the court of law period.

Peace and Prosperity to Mother Zambia.

  20. What is needed is a law whereby NO President is immune from prosecution for crimes against the State – which is of course the people of Zambia — or , that the moment a person ceases to be President their immunity is lifted. The latest ruling, covering only one person , was costly , time wasting and badly thought out .

  21. between RB and SATA who is making us suffer mostly….this case is RBs own and the state will lose more than he will….sata and banda are not different…atleast banda reasons like a man than a criminal mind we have in state house

  22. HATS OFF TO GBM AND CHIKWANDA,THATS THE WAY TO GO ZAMBIA .YOU RE STARS .MULI BANTU IMWE NOT TO BE PUPPETS TO WINTER N MEEMBE.U DID WELL NOT TO VOTE.LOOK AT BA LUBINDA SURE U RE TREACHEROUS .SYMPATHY FRM MEEMBE .MEEMBE AND WINTER YOU WILL NEVA RULE ZAMBIA.VIVA GBM ULI CAUMENOT THE SO KOD PUPPETS OF MPS JUDAS ISCARIOTS AND OTHER MINISTERS MACHENDE YABO .PLUS KA HULE MASEBO NA UGLY WOMEN JEAN N LUO HIPPOS .WILL VOTE FOR YOU GBM .MEEMBE EVIL.DONT BE FOOLED GBM.U RE A MAN GBM

    • Win respect from who? Former president of United States, Jimmy Carter?

I doubt RB has won respect of the majority Zambians. Especially after the C/Wealth press conference blander in RSA. Not many Zambians would consider that act “statesmanly”!

  23. How much was this chap getting to steal $2.5M. If he stole $25M, I would understand. Cheap thief, no wonder he was crying when he left state house.

  24. Interesting! Which Zambians is this fellow refering to? When Rupia and his minions were in power they thought that they were over the moon! Look at how they treated sata to the point of trying to establish crimes about him which happened before the country Zambia was born!
They organised all sorts of discreditable elements to spew insults on Sata but they failed! This is the same Rupia together with some visionless chaps who organised a press conference in the streets of J’burg to insult the intelligence of Zambians! Now that he has seen that ya zanda, thats when he want people to sympathise with him, the same people he was dressing down in the streets of J’burg? Never! Over my precious manhood! Kosafye mdala! On monday you are wanted! Ngawakana ukuya……..you know what it means now!

  25. Some of us are very calm and sober, sir. All we want is to see u clear your name if at all you are innocent. Just present yourself to the probing authorities and let the law take its course. I, for one, cannot sympathize with you due to very valid reasons.

  26. Don’t hide your emotional worries and feelings shame at those activities laid down in parley.
YOU NEEDED TO BE STRIPPED OFF-OF AN EASTERN PROVINCE STATUS AS WELL.
WE SHALL CONVENE IN CHIPATA AND DISCUSS YOUR STATUS ON 1ST APRIL (FOOLS DAY).

  27. The greed of his family!!! He was literary controlled by his children which is a shame, especially that he fell for it. Money is indeed corrupt.

  28. Let me say this, bangwele supporting and shielding RB have actually been castigating the Speaker. The Speaker, in simple language said JUST AS PARLIAMENT CAN NOT DEBATE A MATTER THAT IS BEFORE THE COURTS OF LAW, THE COURTS CAN NOT ALSO DETERMINE WHAT PARLIAMENT SHOULD DEBATE ABOUT! In this case, the constitution specifically says IMMUNITY CAN BE REMOVED BY PARLEY. So the courts have no business on wether or not parley can debate the issue. Of course he was being diplomatic! THAT IS SEPARATION OF POWERS.

    • In court there’s painstaking weighting on preponderance of evidence by very educated fellows who don’t have an eye on the next election. In parly there’s abuse & bullying of dissenting party members, political slugfests by very ill educated MP’s and as always politicians tend to do stuff with an eye on the next election.Flawed as it may be,that is the law as it stands now.But there’s no doubt which side should be trusted to handle this matter far more professionally & fairly.

  29. It is so sad!
While the majority of Zambians suffer in abject poverty,
one family can amass such illicit wealth!
This immunity is best removed for all, if such tushimi
or dikgang will be exposed of such unheralded gluttony!
This is the beginning of financial discipline.
It will take time, but it is the right step!

  30. Only thieves are suspicious of their colleagues thieves. Sata is no different to Banda and Chiluba. The next president will remove his immunity and considering his age, he will die of heart attack during the process.

  31. Zambia is officially a banana republic where equal treatment before the law is an impossibility and its in conflict with the proverbial “law taking its course”.Some animals are more equal than others in this farm.

    • Indeed, AKAFUPA WAMININE UBUPANGALUME, NOKUKALUKA UKAKALUKA UBUPANGALUME! Ba RB no need to fear. Court should be a soft bone for you to chew, since you claim you are innocent!

  32. IWE RB, NO ONE IS SUPPORTING YOU. OPEN YOUR EYES BIG MAN. WHY DID OPPOSITION MPs WALK OUT? THAT WAS A CALCULATED MOVE TO MAKE SURE YOUR IMMUNITY IS LIFTED. THEY WOULD HAVE STAYED AND PROTECTED YOU

  33. DULL RUPIAH.HE SHOULD HAVE GONE FIRST TIME HE WAS SUMMONED,THIS MOTION COULD HAVE BEEN DILUTED,BUT AS USUAL ARROGANCE DOES NOT PAY.

  34. Attention to every Zambian and listen to my wisdom. As much as I think RB is way better than Sata in every way imaginable, some of RB’s actions were against the very people who gave him the privilege to govern. That said, we shall leave to the courts to independently determine his fate. However, the fight against corruption has not yielded any beneficial results other than lead the country incur more legal costs and enables failed governments such Micheal Sata’s to divert attention from the real economic and social problems. Mr. President please let this not be an excuse or a way to show people that you are working. Convicting a person does not help Mr. X or Y get a job or have 3 meals a day. If anything, I would rather you make RB retain every cent perceived to be misapplied than jail…

  35. RB you better be careful, you are being naive, you have been BETRAYED BY THE oppositiowho pretende they were protesting thereby coming out with clean hands. UKO USHILI, IMBWA YOBE TAIBUTUKA. Opposition MPs have been HYPOCRITES on this one. Phone calls don\t mean anything!

  36. Azayamba kudwala mambala,na kugwa ,fainting and feigning illness.Kekekekekkeke.
kosani Chris Hyune is in jail over a parking ticket together with his wife, who are you mambala? At least you will go to the new prison.

  37. Ladies and Gentlemen , it is good that our former President is able to come out as a humble person. Thank you sir. I want to congratulate Mr Sata for lifting his immunity too. I say thank you Sir. President Sata has reinforced the whole idea that when you steal today tomorrow the law will catch up with you. Chiluba did not go into prison for stealing from Zambians yet R.B and his clonies acquitted him. R.B is on record refusing to register the London judgement. All these things were done to insulate himself and family from being prosecuted for institutionalised stealing he had implemented.just think of it how much Green Mbozi from Agriculture stole from the farmers and he is a simple Director. Zambia needs every coin to develop.

  38. All the important stuff is covered so there is only one question on my mind. Are there any lollipops left – by this of course I mean where are the suckers now?

Would it be unfair for me to make a buck with a solidarity tee-shirt depicting a lollipop and the words: Lick this sucker!

To be fair I have tee-shirts for the other lot too. How about a half burned spliff next to a pot hole with the abandoned workman’s toolbox saying: Back in 90 Daze

  39. X get a job or have 3 meals a day. If anything, I would rather you make RB return every cent perceived to be misapplied than jail him

  40. Please Lord get rid of Sata, Kabimba, Mmembe, Nchito, Sakani, Matibini and Mhatani. They are devils who don’t deserve the oxygen they breath. Otherwise our country will be parallyssed completely. Amen

  41. @37 with a long rumbling name. I appreciate your explanation on how speaker arrived at decision. It makes sense actually. Imagine the kind of precedence it would cause if people were allowed to go to court to stop parliament deliberating such and such a motion by way of court injunction. There would be total chaos. Now back to RB. Listen, up and until the courts find him guilty, he should be seen as innocent. In politics TIMING is important. You can’t ignore it. The timing of removal of immunity may be costly to PF in the long run. There’s so much conflict right now of Kabimba, GBM cases, By – elections, political violence, ethnic tensions, uncertainty about H.E.’s health, prosecution & incarceration of opposition leaders, banning of opposition political rallies, commonwealth…

  42. Mr. Bwezani and family to be honesty, mwalituvobola…fellow Zambians if you look behind and reflect on the FTJ case acquital, this was done in view of trying to cover even himself in the nearest future like today.I am sure ba Banda and children had externallised public funds bwezani ndalama za ziko bane tubombeko. If this sugar dad thinks is innocent let him go and prove it in court and him must stop incinuating that Zambians are not,we are more than happy that is what we have been waiting for,why ranning up and down if you are clean.

  43. Attention to every Zambian. If anything, I would rather you make RB return every cent perceived to be misapplied than jail him

  44. I WILL ONLY SHOW REMORSE WITH THIS MAN IF HE IS CLEARED, IN MY JUDGEMENT BASED ON THE WAY HE LED, HE IS A CORRUPT OLD MAN WHO MUST PAY BACK FOR HIS CRIMES AGAINST THE PEOPLE OF THIS GREAT NATION. HOW DOES HE EXPLAIN HOW HE BECAME RICH FROM POVERTY IN RETIREMENT?

    • Who said he is rich. Are you saying Obama is rich because he raised US$1 Billion campaign funds? Break away from the pack.

  45. Which is the most violent party in Zambia going by the recent killings. In Rufunsa PF killed its own member and accused UPND. In Livingstone a PF cadre killed another PF cadre and PF accused UPND in Livinstone PF cadre related to a PF senior cadre was found killed by PF and PF accused UPND. In all the three scenarios senior PF members including the president and the minister of justice went on anthills telling the nation that UPND should stop the Killing and yet the police established that PF is killing its members wherever there are elections. It that not reason enough to de-register it Mr Drunken Minister of Home Affairs? Why can SATA and Kabimba apologize to the nation that we lied to you that UPND killed but it is us who slaughtered them for election purposes.

  46. RB had an agenda to steal & steal big. He was willing to give his all to get a second chance but fate would only give him 2 years. This man raped more than 50% of the Zambians’ minds hence voting him out in 2011. Look back at what ZNBC had become, an RB image builder. He had the audacity to even nullify the ‘abuse of office’ clause from the statutes just to lay ground for his thieving. Everyone knew how dramatic FTJ’s case ended, he didn’t go to his grave a clean man. Let everyone aspiring to go to Plot One know that they will be sent to jail if they steal, what ever the cost.

  47. If RB stole, the courts bazaweluza. Let us stay calm. In the meantime, PF restore economic fundamentals to where RB left them; budget and balance of payment surplus, bfast mealie meal at KR38, dollar at KR4.3. Now debt high, bfast mmeal KR85, dollar KR5.3.

    • RB left the USD at KR5.2 and you can check the BOZ site for evidence. Zambia does not have unserviced debt, get the right.

  48. rb was politely asked to appear before the investigative wings before his immunity was lifted. Instead of complying he was misled by his lawyers. Now he should just face the music instead of seeking cheap public sympathy. I am very much sure that in the next few days he will start limping to court using a walking stick pretending to be sick. These politicians they always do that when they have court cases. I like the egyptians. They were taking mubarak to court on a stretcher! Let us emulate them and cage the plunderers. 49. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME AND RESOURCES. AS CHEWAS SAY. CHAONA MZAKO CHAPITA, MABA CHILI PALI IWE? (WHAT EVER YOUR FRIEND HAS SEEN SHALL PASS, TOMORROW IT WILL BE YOU) DON’T BE TOO CONFIDENT PRESIDENT SATA, YOU HAVE SET A PRECEDENCE that will hate you. CONCENTRATE ON REAL ECONOMIC ISSUES THAN THIS. PF I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH YOUR APPROACH. WYNTER AND OTHERS ARE SET FREE N YET TROUBLING THE OLD MAN? WHAT A SHAME.

  50. RB you think we are in support of you sorry sir. In the first place you were not supposed to refuse the summon by the task force before your immunity was removed to show innocence. No wonder you removed the abuse of office clause surely how could you do that if your aim was for the good of the people. Zambians let us be real. How could you amass such wealth within three years of your rule with your madam? Abuse of office clause was the first to be gotten rid off surely how? Honestly RB never thot he will be out of power that easily. Remember its just a small portion of Zambians who are supporting u but the majority were waiting for the right time when you can be dealt with and that time has come Mr RB.PF don’t fail on this case because Zambians are waiting anxiously. Bravo.

  51. Zambians wake-up!Mpombo is to be used as witness in RB’s case ,surely no one can link the drama which is unfolding in RB’s immunity case removal! Remember that George was Defence Minister and the cartel wants to cook some allegation against RB.No wonder the outsiders view Zambians as gullibles ,how can Mmembe hold the whole Nation at ransom? Wake-up and smell the Nandos spice in Town!!

  52. Honestly speaking, RB really carried out ‘questionable’ dealings during his three years in office and there is a very high chance that high profile witnesses will come to the stand. From the way I see it, UPND must watch closely its position because if credible evidence comes up against RB, they will appear as having sided with corruption.

  53. BA ZAMBIAN, REALLY YOU CANT SEE BEYOND YOUR NOSE. RB WAS VERY POOR AT HIS FARM, WITH IN TWO HE CAN SO RICH? KWENA BA ZAMBIA MULICHIPUBA.

  54. GRAB HIS PSSPORT FIRST.STOP HIM FROM GOING OUT SIDE THE COUNTRY.LIKE OTHER POOR PEOPLE SUFFER JUST FOR STEALING A CHICKEN WORTH ONLY 25KWACHA ARE THROWN INTO THE CELLS, DO THE SAME TO HIM. SPEED THECASE HEARING. WE WERE PAY ING PAYE AND YET HE WITH HIS FAMILY WERE CUWING THE MONEY FREELY. ONLY THOSE THAT PARTICIPETED IN YOUR GIFTS ARE NOT HAPPY ANT LIST ME AND MY FAMILY AND MAJORITY OF ZAMBIANS ARE HOPING THAT PART OF YOUR RUTE WILL COME BACK. STUPID MAN, HOW CAN YOU SO CARELESS. KUNDA THE MAN SHOULD THOUGHT WILL HELP IS CLEVER HE DECIDED TO LEAVE ALL THESE THINGS TO FOR YOU TO FACE. IKNOW HE HAS LOST HAPETITE EVEN FOR TWANI.

  55. Who says that removal of RB’s immunity will deter other politicians from dipping their fingers in the national treasury, do they ever learn or care for that matter? You can rest assured that you have not seen the last of these guys in courts of law, even the men and women who spoke loudest during the parliamentary debate, they know themselves. Why do you think that bazungu (Europeans) say that the most lucrative business in Africa is politics? Even if you have no skills or education, it’s the only business that will guarantee you a good living. Well at least while it lasts and until the law catches up with them they will have educated their children whom you cannot question for the sins of their fathers!!! kekekekekeke kikikikikiki. It’s a curse bane!!!

  56. MUSHOTA you are a Zambian woman with a difference, you don’t screw Scots for their money. Zambian women are very honest. Your scottish guy is very lucky. I wish I was Scottish man.

  57. Mr. PRESIDENT What about Austine Sichinga who used to hold ‘CABINET MEETINGS’ in the presence of prostitutes in the show grounds with JIMBO. How has he escaped the net and he is suddenly quiet as a permanent Secretary in North Western Province. Is it because he betrayed Bwenzani Banda, while he was his advisor, by giving you information when you were in opposition. How will you balance the scale. You have now sidelined Given Lubinda for passing information to the opposition. Lubinda was merely just playing your game and you are sick and dying because of the words you used to say about Mwanawasa.

  58. Too much rhetoric 1 to 68. Sata and RB are cousins. All of u will be shocked by the outcome. Be warry with politicians. They will always hoodwink u into believing what yo eyes can c. Dig dipper, and u will never trust any. Its all about cash. Concentrate on feeding yo family and taking them higher and higher. Forget about Rb an Sata dying or not dying. If u dont heed my advice, you will end up laughing at yo self.

  59. Which Zambians is RB appealing to? Dora? HH? $11m is a lot of money. Let him state where it came from and why he spent it on elections.

That could have sorted out a lot of problems.

  60. Banda is not special why all this argumentation no one is above the law let him face the courts . Innocent souls are in jail I hope his innocence takes him to jail not a mistake.

  61. …………….Oh well..we all have to die someday, Some will die before others. We all cant die at the same time.

If former president RB is innocent, so be it. If he can prove his innocence, then its just a fair game

  62. Why is Banda asking us to remain Calm..Who told him e are in a state of panick..I hope they lock him up as an example to future leaders. Thou shall not abuse of resources
