Clergyman calls for spiritual counselling of gay couple

Share

A Ndola based clergyman has said there is need for the church to pray and offer spiritual counselling to the Kapiri Mposhi gay couple.

Pastor Jimmy Simukonda of Hope Ministries in Lubuto Township said this in an interview with ZANIS in Ndola today.

Pastor Simukonda said the young people, James Mwape and Philip Mubiana both aged 21 needed to be taken for spiritual deliverance.

He said any act against God’s intention for man and woman was sinful and should be viewed as such.

“What they have engaged in is against God’s intention for man and woman therefore it is sin and it should be viewed as such and those two need to be cleansed of their sins that is what the bible says,” he said.

He however said being jeered and mocked by the public would not help the situation but that what the two needed was to be taken for deliverance so that the devil could cease to use them.

“One thing that will not help the two young people is to jeer at them, mock them or even insult them because the devil is using them and what they need is deliverance and to be shown love that is what is important,” he noted.

Police in Kapiri Mposhi over the weekend arrested James Mwape and Philip Mubiana both residents of Ndeke Compound in Kapiri Mposhi for engaging in Homosexuality.

The two were arrested after a tip-off from some members of the public that they were engaged in homosexuality.

According to a tip-off from members of the public, the two had been living together as man and wife in Ndeke area.

Central Province Commissioner of Police Standwell Lungu said medical tests conducted on the two proved that they had been having sex against the order of nature.

The Police Commissioner said Philip had been acting as wife while James as man in the relationship which he said had existed for some time.

Meanwhile, Police had to revoke police bond granted earlier for the two men arrested after they were found engaging in “unnatural” sexual acts again.

Mr Lungu explained that police had to revoke police bond which was granted earlier and re-arrested the two men for again engaging in the act which they were arrested on in the first place.

He said the two will remain in custody until they appear in court.

He said the couple was discovered in the act and was apprehended by their relatives in Ndeke Compound.

Kabwe-based Principal Resident Magistrate John Mbuzi set May 22, 2013 as date for commencement of trial after the two pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The two are reminded in custody.

    • It has such attitudes of “leave them alone, its their business” that has destroyed european society in terms of living as human beings. Teenagers are left alone to make their wrong immature decisions, family life has disintegrated. and I do not want that to reach mother Zed.

    • Actually European teens are so much more mature than Zambians. They start work at age 16. I know some Zambian 40 year olds who still live with their parents. So I do wonder why someone would thumb their nose at European culture. You also refer to European society as destroyed. I do not quite understand what you mean. Maybe you could clarify because last time I checked European society was much more advanced than Zambia.

  1. Please leave these men alone….we have serious problems in hospitals, filth and uncollected rubbish on our streets, ingrained corruption in all sectors and we are concerned about what two adults are doing behind closed doors. C’mon now Pastor Simukonda the people who need your spiritual counselling are the corrupt officials in gov’t.

  2. Prayers are needed for Zambia righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to any people.

  3. If these two boys with their pink boxers are stopping Zambia from progressing then imprison them but they are just going about their business and you are all creating this drama then this is a country of fools

    • Kwena those pink boxers te sana. LOL! But even more importantly is this a national security issue? Is anyone other than the participating parties getting hurt? If the answer is in the negative and not in the affirmative for both questions then I do wonder why we are expending tax payers money persecuting a couple for loving each other.

    • @Nubian Princes.. you are demonic! you need prayers, moving to the USA changes nothing.. wrong is wrong, sin is sin.. Your should be thankful to God.. if your father was deeping himself in a fellow man`s bums.. you would not have been born,,, kupusa!

  4. why are they covering their faces. They don’t need counselling. iwe pastor, they need deliverance and not counselling, but they should lock them up first

    • Lock you up fool. One day it will be anti homo bigots like you that hide behind Jesus that will have to hide there faces . How many homosexuals does God need to make before these satanic anti homos shut up or just die.

  5. The bible says love your enemies. Surely a society that calls its self Christian should show love to these people. Its only through love that these people will be able to change. If we care for them and tell them importance of the love of Jesus these people will surely change.
But if we continue to treat them like outlaws, they will continue to do the same in hiding places. Christians please show love. love your neighbour as yourself & next tell them the good news of Christ and pray for them so that they can change is the best solution.
They are a lot of people in Zambia who are gays. I do not support gay-ism but we should surely exhibit Christian qualities at this stage of time and forcus our energies on very import issues affecting Zambia. Not these stupid issues.

  6. I am A south African and Believe That the Church set the morale’s of the law and the Ten condiments in God wish And the Church should call on There congregation to stand up and speck out at this sin and seasickness! Thy can force the governments in Africa and the World to out law this gay sickness! Thy should with hold there TAX money and hit them in the pocket! Money Talks and And as F**kes & lesben must rote in Jail and the Islam Would follow To NO TAX’S till thy comply! Just thinking !

  7. This pastor is full of $hit. Go deliver Dan Pule who is obviously being used by the devil or Nevers Mumba who is definately upto some devilish schemes. Go deliver RB from his thieving ways, go deliver “Bishop” Imakando from his use of the Lord’s name in vain. I think a lot of Christians get this sense of superiority on h0mos3xuality because it is an easy one to pick on. But who among you holier than thou hyp0crites woke up one day and decided you were going to be heteros3xual? So, assuming the likes of these kids are bound for h3ll, they will be in good company with Benny Hinn, Paula White, “Bishop” Imakando, Nevers Mumba, RB, FTJ, the poverty stricken pastor in this story and the rest of these conmen and women who thump the Bible and think that a few harsh words against…

  8. It is the church that needs counselling. What happened to “Love” in Christianity? I want to know why not a single clergyman has spoken against those calling for the killing of homosexuals. Clean up your own house then come and lecture the gay community.

  9. Hi The Zulu in south Africa Had no word for Gay ore Prostitute be for the withe Man came hear ! Thy had Christian faith! But thy new that homosexuals and Prostitute were rowing thing to do thy killed the decease at grass roots There for Fathers must be screaming in shame!

    • South African Backward Kaponya! What are you doing on this blog? Go to a S.A blog to complain about your tu ma useless president who thinks HIV can be cured by showering! GET OUT USEDLESS

  10. Tell this pastor that its infact our lazy politicians who needs prayers!!! The issue of homosexuality in Zambia is a non stater, so dont waste our time with it.. Instead feed us with info on national development…

    • Martin Luther King once said, “There is nothing more dangerous than to build a society with a large segment of people in that society who feel that they have no stake in it; who feel that that have nothing to lose. People who have stake in their society, protect that society, but when they don’t have it, they unconsciously want to destroy it”. Zambia can never progress if marginalised groups like homosexuals feel they have no stake in Zambian society.

  11. Hi The Zulu in south Africa Had no word for Gay ore Prostitute be for the withe Man came hear ! Thy had NO Christian faith! But thy new that homosexuals and Prostitute were rowing thing to do thy killed the decease at grass roots There for Fathers must be screaming in shame!

    • Yaba! They also had no word for clothes… And no clothes even for that matter! This peoples could not even read or write… so how do do you know this for a fact? Listening to your ambuya’s fairy tails??? Kakakakaka

    • How times have changed Ba Garry! To much Zulu Prosecutors and gays to South Africa! I am glad to live in Zambia where such things are limited!

  12. blacky, you are a f(cking m0r0n. Maybe it has to do with the fact that they are surrounded by h0m0phobes and the more people see their faces, the more they are danger of bodily harm. Are you really that dumb? Come on, just shut your pie trap if you have nothing sensible to say ….

    • I agree, but why leet? It’s almost as annoying as writing in ALL CAPS.

      See what I mean…

  13. This is the best advice I have heard in a while about the gay issue. The church has been too passive and allowed politicians to provide guidance over this problem. These people need our love and not hate. We are all Gods children and we need to support one another

  14. Just cage de dogs & every homo dog that will dare 2 pop its head in zambia.we ar watching u homo animals, b carefull

  15. Indeed they need God’s intervention immediately. Walls of police cell or prisons will not deter the demons from using them.
As you can see on pictures, they trying to hide their faces because they fully know that what they are doing is not correct and it belongs to darkness (Satan) and not light (Jesus, the Mighty Deliver). Again, the only obstacle that might arise is that unless themselves so desire to be delivered, they will continue being used by this same spirit of homosexual.

  16. JULIUS CAESAR was also Gay (the same one Jesus said “give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar” in Mark 12:17). They called him husband to all wives (of Rome), and also wife of all husbands because he was a womanizer & a gay (Bisexual).

  17. They definitely need some counselling but from there lawyer. Do these chaps even have a lawyer? The all thing is just a big drama nomba. Elo for those of you judging innocent until proven guilty. Which brings to this point; How is this case going to be proved in a court of law. Is they such precedent for such cases else were. The lawyers on here can help with that.
As for the two individuals concerned we must stop judging them. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. Those of you calling yourself Christians should adhere to that. We should be more tolerant of other peoples view and differences. More than 10 million people and you realistically expect everyone to be the same. Wake up people. Ku gona too much
