Supreme Court Judge Elizabeth Muyovwe has nullified the 2011 election victory of MMD Petauke Central MP Dora Siliya.
This was after Losing PF candidate in the 2011 elections Leonard Banda petitioned the election victory of Ms. Siliya in the courts of law.
Mr. Banda had appealed to the Supreme Court after he lost the original petition in the High Court.
In delivering judgement this morning, Judge Muyovwe stated that there was overwhelming evidence of widespread corruption in the run up to the election in Petauke Central.

Can Zambian coutrs just call for another generally elections. The courts have seen that 2011 general elections were characterized by BUFI, corruptions, killings etc, it will be for the better interest of the country to have fresh general elections sooner than latter. We can have more than 1/3 bye elections in less than two years.

Yes ! You are right Presidential Material. If the courts are nullifying all these MMD & UPND MP election victories, let them declare all the 2011 election results Null & Void ! so that we can have fresh elections !!! This means even the presidential elections must be declared null and void !!!!

I was also surprised when the High court let Dora go. Now the supreme court is working. This is a warning also to PF that if you will use corruption to win any seat, it shall be nullified. PF dont be corrupt in the way MMD was, learn from what is happening to MMD.

THE JUSTICE SYSTEM IN ZAMBIA IS WROTTEN. IT IS SAD THAT ONLY THE OPPOSITION IS LOSING SEATS AND NOT THE RULLING PARTY. I THOUGHT THAT IT THE REASON FOR SUPREM COURT JUSTICES TO BE THREE AT LEAST WHEN DETERMINING CASES TO AVOID THE ONE MAN JUDGE ERRORS WHICH HAS BECOME PART OF JOB DISCRIPTION AT HIGH COURT AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS COURT. IT DEFEATS THE PURPOSE OF HAVING A LEGAL WHOSE DECISIONS ARE A ONE MAN SHOW. AT LEAST ITS GOOD TO HAVE JUDGEMENTS IN DESCENT.

In fact for me I was expecting about 50 seats to be successfully petitioned by the PF. Its very easy to prove corruption when you look at the manner in which the MMD was abusing state resources during elections. I know what im talking becoz I participated in that election fully. In Zambia if you use corruption to get to Manda Hill just rest assured that you lose it if you are petitioned. Good chance for some clean corruption free elections. Sorry my dear Dora time is up. We all know that the MPs that were in cabinet or very close to RB run very corrupt campaigns. It is interesting that the High Court Judge that threw out the case saying that the plaintiffs had failed to prove their case is Charles Kajimanga, one of the judges accused of corruption himself and passing favour ale judgements to the MMD. Now a very objective rising star of a Supreme Court Judge, Justice Elizabeth Muyovwe says that there was rampant corruption! Very interesting! I think that the judgements of Philip Musonda, Charles Kajimanga and Nigel Mutuna must be reviewed going back 2 – 3 years.
Stupid Dora! I have never been happy like this before. The news of Dora leaving parliament is the best news I have ever had in my life! Today, God has humbled you Dora.
