Share

Struggling FAZ Division One North side Mighty Mufulira Wanderers have fired coach Emmanuel Nthala together with his deputy and club legend Fredrick Kashimoto.

Nthala confirmed his dismissal on Saturday.

“The executive has spoken to us but they are yet to put it in writing,” he said.

Nthala is the second coach Wanderers are firing this season having parted company with Israel Mwanza in April.

Mighty are in danger of suffering demotion to Division Two.

Wanderers are 14th on the 18-team Division One North table with 26 points in 26 matches.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Erick Chimimba has been made caretaker coach of the Mufulira side.

  1. it takes more than just a coach to win or lose…wanderers don’t have the financial capacity right now to enable them put together a winning team, you can bring in alex ferguson or jose’ murinho, to work with the current crop of wanderers players, they still wouldn’t achieve any good results.

    • You are spot on my brother, KCM has pumped more money in Nkana FC but almost nothing for Mighty hence the poor results. If the situation continues this club will follow clubs like Zamsure, Strke Rovers, Vitafoam United ect. No good player will continue playing for a team that is paying peanuts. The coaches are inocent and moreover even good coaches will also go to the clubs that are paying well. So Mighty at the moment will continue grooming players for well paying teams and continue sacking coaches every three months. And the supporters are ones that will suffer more which is very bad.

  2. There is nothing wrong with either the coach or the players. Its the executive’s fault. They are a bunch of losers who feel that they own not just wanderes but mufulira too. mopani should engange independent care takers for atleast a season. This is free advice from a BRAVO supporter

  3. It’s the entire executive which has messed up things at wanderers, even if they fire and hire the best coach in our local league they will not improve or change things at hand. Even mourinho, fergie, wenger etc can fail to turn tables at the ounce mighty wanderers. The problem is entirely in the hands of the executive members, mopani should come in just like they have done at nkana.
