The Patriotic Front (PF) in Chinsali District of Muchinga Province has endorsed Edgar Lungu as PF candidate in the fourth coming presidential by-election.

The PF members who took to the streets of Chinsali town this morning singing songs of solidarity and chanting slogans in favour of Mr Lungu said they will rally behind the party Secretary General as a person to take over from President Michael Sata who was put to rest yesterday at Embassy Park.

PF Chinsali District Chairperson Janet Mulonga said the PF in the district want Mr. Lungu to stand for presidency in the by-election scheduled for next year.

Ms Mulonga said the late head of state left the blessings and power in the hands of Mr Lungu because of the trust he had in him.

She has since appealed to the National Executive Committee (NEC) to follow what the party members want by selecting Mr Lungu as the suitable candidate to stand on the PF ticket.

And PF Chinsali Central Constituency Chairperson Richard Chanda said the party in the district wants Mr. Lungu to continue from where the President left him and prove to the people of Zambia that indeed President Sata was not wrong to appoint him to act as president on several occasions.

Mr Chanda has since urged the PF leadership at national level to be united and ensure that the person they will select will not fail but keep up the good works that President Sata has left behind.

  1. He is the only one so far that makes sense and shows a personality of a uniting leadership sober to bring together the ruins of PF factionalism. We are yet to see any sober competitor in the PF rank and file.

    • What sense are you talking about?? This guy has NO TRACK record. Imagine what he was and doing in 2007? Comeon guys you need a person with a firm record with some assets too. What has the chap been doing all this time?? Actg S.G and Justice Minister only for two months. Actg Defence minister only 6 mths or thereabouts . What was he before??
Just guzzling all sorts of alcohol in compounds and being Satas’ senior cadre during Panga time in Chawama. God help us. He will just use this opportunity to empower himself and drinkmates , period.
Even Chikwanda can be better as a stop gap measure

    • After doing some consultation and evaluating the grave problem that has inflicted our dear friends in PF, I have come up with answers for all their troubles.

      (1) Nominate a presidential PF candidate from all 10 provinces
      (2) Group the nominated candidates together ( all 10 of them)
      (3) Let each one of them choose a name other than themselves of the suitable leader amongst them and the victor is one who draws majority votes
      (4) If there is a tie go back to number (1)
      (5) Hurriedly present another CNP as a preferred presidential candidate

  2. The blessing of Satan stays in PF, as a country we are done with the pathetic fools. These thugs think Zambians are foolishs, rigging the elections won’t be easy, just like how kanitundila lost that is what is going to happen to these problem failures, I rest my argument.

  3. No MORE PF . Its burried at Embassy Park with its founder who couldnt find a heir !. Though still, Rest Well ba Sata. GOD GIVES AND TAKES HIS OWN !

Its HH NOW OR NEVER ! Its a DO OR DIE !

    • @ MJ banda,

      You are absolutely right.
He has ALL necessary qualities to follow in the step of his “democratic” predecessor: Absolute lack of integrity, honesty and love for alcohol. That is the “best” candidate in Zambia?

  4. @citizen I under that you don’t mean what you say that he is the only one just as ladies don’t belive it nowadays when a man says Ur the only one in this world. We can already see a dictator in the making. How can you praise a destroyer of constitutionalism? Edgar is a finished man just as our frend HH.

  5. Edgar Kaminamisa Drunkard Lungu for president!!! Come on let’s be serious here. It’s time we represented ourselves well as a nation with a credible leader.

  6. Chinsali PF members are sick like the one they have endorsed. The enforcement of Lunga is in itself an insult not only to Mwansa Kapwepwe but also to the Goddess Lenshina. I now know and viciously register my complaint to whoever made Munchinga a province because that in itself has diluted the pure bemba thoughtful and determined tribe to a total mockery of bemba intelligence. “Bemba twasebana” is the title of the new book I’m writing now

  7. I like it PF each province with its own endorsement, what a batch of disorganized Party. 90 days we gave you is long gone dont worst our time just continue endorsing one another until time beats you. Last kicks of a dying Horse.

  8. Lungu is a strong candidate. Those putting up a spirited fight against him know very well the strength of this man. It may appear that some PF members may think their jobs may not be given back to them if Lungu took the mantle or may be an issue of protecting businesses, hence the panic. PF needs a calm , well balanced and acceptable candidate to continue the vision. The more they fight the more time they waste and in desperation may end up having an unsellable candidate.
If Guy Scott listened to his spirit and not driven by external forces, can do a better job to oversee the transition. PF we the people bank on your orderly ways of doing things for continued peace and quiet working in the Country.

  9. Well done Chinsali.

I was expecting an endowment from Chipata, Easter Province by now. I hope they are not making the mistake of backing RB INSTEAD!

Edgar is pretty much the underdog using a comparator of wealth, but he is an honourable man with great integrity. Sober, in duty, he will provide a great calm over PF, and the country after such a turbulent period.

What PF needs to remember is that we are really talking about 2 years tops, before the General Elections.

After the terrible time PF has had over the last 8 months due to the unjustified attacks on President Sata’s health; it would be irresponsible to put forward Scott or any other contradictory character. That would kill the image of PF.

Zambia remember he is the chap that GAVE us the Contitution Draft! He…

    • Well done Chinsali.
      It should read:
‘I was expecting an endorsement from Chipata, Eastern Province by now. I hope they are not making the mistake of backing RB INSTEAD!’

Zambia remember he is the chap that GAVE us the Contitution Draft! He was magnanimous towards all interested parties. Deftly handling the emotional process and rounding everyone around that cause this man has the gift of a peace maker. Please do not demonise him. We so need a character that has no fire and spit as we have had all we need in the history of The Office Of The President.

  10. Look the fact is Edgar Lungu is the majority people’s favourite!go round the streets and proof this fact.majority wins so let Guy Scott and others accept people’s choice for the sake of peace!many voters want Edgar Lungu!

  11. The man is humble and gentle at the same time respectful. He has on average what it takes to be a leader. No one can remove this fact. We now have two strong contenders. The two traditional cousins EDGER LUNGU and NEVERS MUMBA and A referee HH in the front line.

  12. Not a bad choice for two years and he is the only one so far GBM /Kambwili/Miles etc serious JOKERS and should stop wasting their money and time

  13. for the first time am behind HH why lungu coz sata made him acting president for a short period or is it coz guy scott attempted to fire him nangu its these illitrate chaps on the street making noise awe mwe HH all the way proven economist is better than a freaking party cader
