Zambia have beaten ten-man Ethiopia 1-0 in a friendly played away on Sunday in Addis Ababa.
An Allan Mukuka goal handed Zambia coach Honour Janza’s his eighth win from 18 matches at the helm.
The Green Buffaloes winger headed-in the winning goal in the 45th minute to score his second goal in a Zambia shirt in 2015 since ending his five-year exile in March when he also scored in a 2-0 friendly win over Rwanda in Lusaka.
And the day also marked striker Emmanuel Mayuka’s return after a six-month layoff following his recent recovery from a groin injury he suffered in January at the 2015 Africa Cup in Equatorial Guinea.
Mayuka came on i the 65th minute after replacing Lubambo Musonda.
Meanwhile, Ethiopia wasted a great opportunity to get an equaliser in the 75th minute when Binyam Assefa missed a penalty.
Ethiopia were later reduced to ten men in the 85th minute after Mujib Kasim was sent-off for a second booking after receiving his initailly yellow card in the 27th minute.
Zambia head back home on Monday and will fly straight to Ndola from Addis Ababa to set up base ahead of their 2017 Africa
Viva Chipolopolo!!! Soldier on Boys.
Janza, keep working at it. Please don’t get distracted by haters: but whenever they make a genuine point, please take note. Opportunities don’t knock too many times. And remember, sometimes the best advice is from your enemies. Viva Chipolopolo!!!
what viva naiwe bu colour bobe, this chi dishonour janza will always dishonour this country when it matters most.
@Tubulu, we like Janza that is why we are disappointed that a gentleman like him can’t score just 44 % wins.
Let us try Chris Katongo as coach for Chipolopolo.
We should just have a Zambia National Friendlies Soccer Team, I think it will excel…
Viva chipolopo that’s a good start, soldier ahead boys forget criticism.
That Allan Mukuka, from no where, hes start scoring. Janza should keep same team, especially goal keeper Danny, the lad has never lost a match.
Kalaba, Mayuka and Chisamba can come in as super-subs, even though Kangwa annoys me.
Well done boys!!atleast now Zambia soccer fans can smile!!do it again in Ndola on 13th June 2015 by beat Guinea Bissau!!Once more congrats boys!!
This Janza, he’s just good at winning friendlies.
Let him away from FAZ offices.
Yes, Janza is an expert at winning friendlies and practice matches. Let him just go and be replaced by nobody because the team will be better without him.
Phew! Something to take me away from the violence in our politics & the unfolding scandals at FIFA. Congrats to Barca as well.
I agree with Air Mukwai, Zambia play well in friendly games would be surprised if we loose our next game. I love Zambia nevertheless we do have players who can score. We play names.
What a big shock!! Yangu mwebantu!! Zambia win a game! It can’t be! Ni Lesa! They can’t win a match those boys!
Awe chakupapa! It must have been an own goal by Ethiopia
Let’s not get short sighted merely sweeping dirt under the carpet will not get rid of the problem…Zambian football needs a total total branch and root overall starting from the empty suits in Football House….ZAMBIA is going NOWHERE.
Zombies wake up!!
jay jay,Zambia has won the afcon. Why still the hate, ure pathetic.
So trajic to see Ethiopian football failing to reincarnate. I’m heart broken soccer fan for being Ethiopian and Liverpool’s fan
