Sata accuses RB of not respecting traditional leaders

Share

satarallyPatriotic Front (PF) leader Michael Sata has accused President Rupiah Banda of having no respect for traditional rulers in the country.

Mr. Sata has said the MMD under Mr. Banda has failed to improve on the social infrastructure left by former UNIP government.

Addressing two separate rallies at Chitambo hospital grounds and another at Fisonge basic school grounds yesterday, Mr. Sata said in 1991, government gave back the respect chiefs deserved and stopped them from engaging into active politics.

He said it was sad that chiefs were now called to meet president Rupiah Banda at any place instead of the president paying courtesy call on them at their respective palaces.

He said UNIP under Dr. Kaunda built a lot of schools, roads and hospitals which the MMD were failing to improve on adding that government had even failed to make a road that would join Mpelembe from Chitambo hospital.

“There should have been a road by now joining Tuta road from here (Chitambo) but government has failed forcing people to still to go via mukando, a long way,” he said.

He said schools did not have adequate staffing while many trained teachers were still roaming the streets adding that government allegedly refused to increase workers salaries while the first lady Thandiwe was getting salaries when she was not working.

Mr. Sata urged the people of Chitambo to vote for PF candidate Chanda Mutale who he said was there own man and not to vote for MMD candidate Solomon Musonda because he was alleged to be a Zimbabwean.

“Vote for this young man, your son. Both Musonda and Rupiah Banda come from Zimbabwe so do not vote for Musonda, ” said as he introduced Mutale to the crowd.

Mr. Sata told Mutale to remain humble to the people saying people of Serenje did not want money from him but wanted leadership and somebody who could speak fo them.

He told him to ensure chief Muchinka’s palace was electrified and also ensure a road joining Serenje/Mansa road from Chitambo was made.

And speaking earlier, PF national chairperson, Samuel Mukupa wondered why people in rural areas continued to vote fo MMD when those in towns rejected.

He said it surprised him to find that people who were allegedly not cared for by the MMD government voted for them.

And Lusaka province chairperson, Paul Moonga, told the audience at Chitambo and Fisonge that the MMD had no love for them because even the late Nasim Hamir and the MMD candidate were not Zambians.

Mr. Moonga who praised people of Chitambo constituency for their hard work and construction of good looking houses said he however was disappointed that government had failed to help the people uplift their living standards.

He said while they were hard workers, they lacked support in terms of inputs from government thereby forcing them to face hunger all the times.

Mr. Moonga charged that MMD government respected animals more than people at Chipyapya where he alleged that people were being chased to leave land for animals.

The Patriotic Front (PF) team was in the constituency to drum up support for Chanda Mutale who is one of the four candidates vying for Chitambo parliamentary seat that fell vacant after the death of MMD Member of Parliament Nasim Hamir last May.

Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set August 13th 2009, as polls day in the by-election.

  1. At least they are discussing issues and no mention of any ‘Chimbuya’ politics! Though I would not vote for Sata as President, this one I would support their Pabwato candidate because we need good opposition in parliament. The only problem I have is – what message did the candidate himself have? Its not good enough for us to listen to a person who has campaigned all his life speak for somebody. Sata will not think for the PF candidate, so let him speak so that we can judge him on his own merit. haha haha. Amusiyale fo no Malozi!!!

  2. The president dished out brown envelopes to chiefs in Serenje each containg K1million and they were not impressed because they expected more. Was that meant to be some bribes to win the reelection? You can imagine what it will be like in the 2011 elections.

  3. When will bickering politics ever end in Zambia? Sata & HH, stop playing to the tune of the MMD. That’s what RB & his entourage, Mulongoti, Teta, Ronnie & company want. You need to start selling you alliance to the Zambian masses. Go to convention to cement your pact as a true representation of those that belong to you parties. If you need a political advisor hire one now. This passing of blame is not going to win you votes. Go to convention so that you have ample time to sell you part in all corners of the country. Do it now so that you can start campaign money. As a Zambian in the diaspora, I want to help a formidable opposition with raising campaign monies so I hope PF/UNPD followers get this message.

  4. #4, Sata may probably have made a good president 15 years ago. But now, this generation does not need leaders like him or Rupiah Banda. The country needs you and I (35 -55) as this is our generation and every generation has its own challenges which Sata or RB does not fully appreciate. I would therefore implore you to look at quality leaders in that age group and elimnate anyone above that age regardless of party affiliation or their association with you. That means assess Prof. Chirwa or HH and decide. For Sata ‘nako ifelile’ meaning for Sata time is gone. Amusiyale for no malozi.

  5. He is not the only one. I dont either! Just because some dumb a.s.s was born in a certain family doesnt make them special.

  6. The only reason why people in the rural areas support MMD is because they do not understand what goes on. If the opposition are serious about winning them to thier side, they need to spend more time in those areas and evangelise the reason why MMD must go. Those people dont listen to the news, they dont have internet nor buy papers. They probably dont even know about Kapoko nor the other scandals. You can not miss what you never had, they dont even think there is anything wrong with thier area because they have never had it better…Sata or any other opposition must not just make dry promises. they must put thier money where their word is.. They must be practical, theories are boring. Give the people in the lower LSM regions a need to vote for you

  7. I like Satas ideas but not him as a leader. If he really cares about Zambia and its welfare then he must step down and find a leader within his party who is full of enthusiasm and passion for change..then we will all vote for them…And , they must refrain from this manga manga business of pointing figures at each other and….. Its a waste of time and its so unprofessional..makes them all look and sound illiterate.. And parties need to have firm norms.

  8. The problem is Sata knows all Zambia’s problems but has constantly failed to articulate them each time he has been part of govt. To me this speaks volumes about the character – he is a shing’anga pakanwa. He has perfected the art of lying in such a way that he can convince a blind man that once elected, they will have sight and birds will start flying backwards.

  9. it’s time we zambians started demandind sensible politics from these insana polititians.every time one ass is on the platform the only language is exchanging ugly words.why do we tolerate such no wonder even in this era we still living like we are in the stone age.SATA and RUPIAH should not be wasting our time that’s why moraly upright people in zambia shun politics.we will always be having people like saviour chishimba, sondashi, cosmo mumba and siulapwa.it’s a shame.

  10. Sata always has good, formidable arguments and he is closer to the poor people (who make up more than 90% of the population!) than RB. Zambians, I beg, give the man the land and let him rule it.

  11. MIKAELI SATA.just remember that money talks nowadays, without money you can’t do anything . you can’t marry, look good, buy a car,do GOD’S tithe,or anything .we are tired of you reminding us of the past. ISHAMFUMU NOMBA NASHISHIBA ULUBONE.even if Banda ask them to meet him in the Hotel they can do so,coz they know that chi president chesu chilatulishamo.

  12. Is the impeachment process on or off? This kind of flip-floping does not make Sata look like a leader you can trust. You cant say one thing in the morning and then change in the afternoon, you lose all credibility. Also politics of xenophobia in this day and age seem rather atavistic to me.

  13. Bemba proverbs. Lesson I
Icintu cintu umwene: a thing is that which you have seen.

meaning: your hands can’t touch what your eyes can’t see.

  14. #22 Hammer, Opposition does not only mean arguing anyhow. Anyone who has no realistic chance of forming govt cannot be a good opposition because they only disrupt progress. I am slowly putting Sata in this category unless he partners up with progressive minds with real prospects to lead. That is my view but I still can’t see that bite in the PF/UPND pact unless they find a leader who is an alternative to both Sata and Hakainde. That is the challenge they face but whoever stronglyopposes MMD without splitting votes should form the next govt easily. Teta, Mabenga and Mulongoti have ruined MMD completely.

  15. Sata appears to have alot people but where do they go on polling day.Oh i think they lost their NRCs.

  16. Chi Miss Daisy. I bet you wish your mother was only 25% as beautiful as the woman you have in your gravator. Ububi! Why would a man have a womans gravator? Are you g a y?

  17. Still debating who i should vote for in 2011.No one promises to be the saviour of this country where the majority are wallowing in poverty. There dont seem to be mature politics in Zambia, there is too much politics of personality assissination and not real issues. Please abash insults opposition and ruling, you are letting us down on international scene. As leaders we look to you for guidance, direction and good conduct.

  18. Say what you may but Sata delivered results what ever he touched. And those that worked with him speak highly of his get it done abilities. I dont care about rhetoric, looks or what school one went to. If he can deliver badly needed infrastructure, drive growth and the doubling of our production numbers(Agric, Agribusiness, Secondary mineral processing + education), all within free market competitive principles, but ensure a fair share of economic benefits accrue to Zambians (10% increase in formal employment indices, 5% reduction in inflation both consumer + Industrial, 30% eduction in illiteracy+ 10yr increase in lifeexpectancy at birth. Then he’s the guy for me. And this person needs to smack slacking Zambians. I believe SATA can deliver. HH is begin. to see . be a DOERS nt Talkers.

  19. Even God the almighty does not approve of Sata to rule us otherwise he would have been president yonks ago. Anyway let him dream on and mislead Ichilema with him.

  20. #28 – If Sata is a doer as you say, how come he has not delivered the impeachment process in 14 days as he said he would?

  21. Sata even missed the three-time lucky attempt. Very unusual but truelly the man who betrayed SATA is Chiluba!! But, again, may be Chiluba was right because Mazoka won those elections and people were not going to accept Sata being imposed on them by Chiluba. Mwanawasa was a bit of a compromise because he was a calm man but for Sata, yaba, it was going to be hard to accept that he had won in 2001 for sure!!!

  22. Yes those that Sata(na) speak volumes about how deadly he is. Ask the people of Chawama where he unleased his militia with pangas. Apparently the militia has followed him to his Poor Finishing (PF) and they are waiting to pounce. Remember the generals Tembo, Miyanda being hounded out of Mulungushi in Kabwe. That is the cobra but he will go with his dream to make peace with his maker soon without sleeping at Plot One Independence Avenue, Lusaka. How about that? Sorry but this is sooooooo true.

  23. Ba Sata awe mwe,you dont seem to give up uncle, good points there though, consider our chief Litunga of the Lozi for example, nothing much happening there, when i was growing during the time of Kaunda, the Litunga was really feared & respected by his subjects……but now,all is threatening to go to waste because of the policies introduced be Ba Chiluba.really sad indeed.

  24. Kalembo if you are MMD fine. If not stay wherever you are. MMD is going to be around for a very long time as long as your fathers relatives live in the village. Yet they will send you their son`s for you to buy them school uniforms!

  25. for whatever reasons i would vote for PF,but iam not happy with satas utterances regarding permanent residents and other non zambians (by birth ).this is a gobal village and people migrate and can live where they like .this has never been a cause of the problems zed finds itselfs in .zenophobia is one bad thing anyone living outside knows.on that point abash sata .
the indians have provided stores for our poor villages.even in chitulika where sata comes from ,where i come from bamwenye has the shops.ba moonga tekanyeni

  26. Zambians can be lazy.. and very laid back with no ambition at times… with a mosi nakabwali kankoko, nakagelo nothing could be wrong in life. thats it!. nabalesa kuti baisa.. in an era when one needs to be aggressive and get things done .. like nike .. JUST DO IT.. We needs a leader that will keep people on their toes. who will aggressively not accept failure. who take personal interst in the intelligence of the kids coming through school. reward the top 200 pupils that had the highest marks at GRADE7, 9 & 12 exams.. addrress the nation regarding the stet of education. those taht have excelled. be intersted in the medical profession. redevelop TDRC-Tropica Desease Researc Centres and not leave it to donors. I dont know Professor Chirwa. I dont know if he’s more than just a…

  27. I dont know if Professor Chirwa is more than an academician.. He needs to communicate with people like me what actions he0’s taken n the past what projects he’s sponored back in Zambia. Community deveklopment projects he started or sits. eg Zambia National Aids Network. Biomedical Sociaety, Engineering Society. Key legislation, he’s spearhed, communicate this to us .. so that we know him. His achievement at Aerospace does not mean he cares about or have interest in developing areas economic activity relevant to our growth. There’s no aerospace industry in Zambia. Will enjoy and pationately deliver to the cause of the Blind for instance or issues mental health. is he broadbased?

  28. Every zambian knows that, Sata is a performer in politics give him chance for presidency zambia will turn arround for prosperity; he is the rightman for the job not these pleasureseekers: RBs,

  29. #13 miss daisy,U are 100%right,what the eyes cannot see, the mind does not bother, they can hear, but they can`t understand, they can see but they cant perseve,4 sure our people

need the information system,so that they may not be moving or voting at a blind pace.

  30. # 39,i dont agreed with you,Sata is not the right man for the job,he will never be,the likes of Sata better not be given power, right now Zambia needs a new leader who will bring new ideas for the development of all.where are all fellow bloggers, are the majority of you Lt bloggers living abroad?Zambia needs the likes of you, your views, opinions, come form or join a party & vote for a better person,MMD has been in power for 18 years we need change & only us can do it,for the future our children and their children…..

  31. Iwe #’25,26 kukalale what has Miss Daisy done for you to be so unkind to her? That’s not the way to treat a lady. If you have personal problems, please stay away instead of coming to vent off your frustrations on LT bloggers.

  32. #25 – Kukalale – we are supposed to be adults here and able to discuss issues that affect our country without resorting to insults. Miss Daisy is allowed to give her opinions as much as anyone. If you can not deal with divergent views then go and blog somewhere by yourself.

  33. Sata is more connected to Zambian people and more hardworking than any of the Presdos we have had. The problem with him is that he also did very bad things on others. Those things will always come to hount, that is the rule. Even if he does not become presido, we need him badly now to rid this rot of a government we have. Unfortunately all the presidos we have had are selfish. They dont groom anyone. That country is always vulnerable. Now you have George Kunda in line of command and that is what you have to deal with for the next …..years??

  34. I really wonder why people have not come to accept that SATA who was born under the tree has that political brain which no person in the present political arena has. SATA ofcourse has no degree like RB but I see more sense in what SATA says concerning the economy than RB. And really it is suprising that the people who are enlightened vote for Sata than the villagers who are at his level? Why do the opposite happen? We expect the villagers to vote for Sata but the enlightened vote for him……VERY PARADOXICAL INDEED! The fact is that they see sense in SATA than others period.

  35. SATA served in chiluba’s goverment at the highest level.vice presidents like kavindele were paper weights to him.so in short he was a catalisty to chiluba goverment’s failures.and i read somewhere one impotent mind trying to justfy that he realy did good for this land.not dwelling on what good he is perceived to have done.the bad is the guy championed chiluba’s cause.he had his nice time witnessing chiluba raping this economy and abusing power at will.that’s why i praise levy for having lumped that motor vehicle case on him so that he knows how legislation meant to hurt your opponents hurts.i hope it applied to chiluba as well in the TV case.so characters with a past like SATA’s can only parade themselves in AFRICA.that’s why we are called third world countries.in advanced…

  36. Kalale I dont know any Zambian who does not have a village. You have to say your village to get an NRC card. I dont live in a village but am not the kind of person who would look down on somebody who does or who does not speak english. After all we are all humans. Villagers have their own interests just like you and me. If they feel that MMD will fulfil their interests then they have every right to vote for them. If you disagree then that is your own indaba. For your information, I am not MMD but dont support Sata because I feel that he is not the right person to rule Zambia. That is my opinion but should the majority of Zambians vote for him to be president then I will accept that because I understand the tenets of democracy.

  37. kupaya njoka ni kumenya kumutu……i always sense that the MMD will continue to be in power for more than 25 years.Reasons; They have imposed a silent divide and rule type of POLITRICKS of funding small parties with a view to spliting vote, confine villagers and the chiefs to total poverty so that during election, small gifts such a half kilo of salt corrupts the mind of the villagers to vote for them…they have formed a dynasty type of a kingdom from the glass root to the top…many more reasons..we are held for ransom we need to hammer the snake by the head…..

  38. There seems to be a contradiction here – people are quick to say that villagers are ignorant and illiterate so they dont know how to vote and yet they support somebody like Sata who is not educated and displays his ignorance on a daily basis. People say that they are pro-poor and yet when the poor Zambians make their democratic choice they are vilified -how ironic!

  39. In Zambia, it is very irational to say, like RB and many iliterates say, if you were a minisater or some governmernt official you could have made the development during period of service.. This is really cheap thinking. As a minister or who ever, there is nothing that is attributed to you directly. Sata did well but everything is watered down. Now we RB and everyone else is just a dog baking and bitting his opponents. That time at least ministers could do something on theri own. But now they just have yell and baking at everything. When you say Tandiwe is getting a salary iligarlly, then OH It will be BU BU BU BU ….. BU

  40. Just spare Miss Daissy. She is as beautiful as the gravator she is. Thas primitive of you chi number 25. She comments constructively.

  41. If the picture in the article is current and was taken ku Serenje, which I doubt, King cobra’s yournger man is headed for victory. Good evening

  42. Number 55. Just look at the flag of Mis Daisy and compare with mine. We are worlds apart and dont even know her. I comment as I wish without fear or favour.

  43. “The problem is Sata knows all Zambia’s problems but has constantly failed to articulate them each time he has been part of govt”

#17 Kachonga Wabantu, the above is untrue. Sata has practically shown great performance whichever ministry he has manned. Ask the nurses and doctor. Lusaka residents can also tell you that when he was governor the town changed. Sata is work and results oriented man. Of course lazy people don’t like him.

  44. Besides, Michael Sata wants to trully do something for Zambia and I believe him because if he can do a lot as a minister and governor, then when he has full control as apresident he would demand that every minister sweats for what he/she’s paid for.

  45. sata and banda are from politics of bitter divisions of the past, banda’s intention is to makesure apesha sata not development, that is why he is flying every day so that sata can feel pain and that is why they want to impeach him without reasons so that he can feel shame.Their politics don’t benefit our people that is why we need a generation change a clear breakaway from these politics of bitter divisions of the past. The new generation had hope in chishimba but because of his strong inclination with kapwepwe who was part of these politics of bitter divisions of the past amongst kaunda, kapwepwe, kamanga and mundia.Kapwepwe and mundia teamed up to remove kaunda and kamanga, when kamanga and kaunda realised they were loosing they changed the constitition overnight to bar kapwepwe and…

  46. #19 LUKOMBWE, but thats where everything has gone wrong. Can you imagine Gordon Brown instructing the mornarch to come and meet him at a political rally for handouts?

  47. #28 Digga, you are spot-on. I personally, worked with Mr Sata in Lusaka City Council. I can assure you he makes people work, he make things move, he wants to see you really working, and he wants to see the results of what you have been doing. If you have a negative attitude towards work, he will definitely ask you to leave, and just leave. I personally, liked him because I love hardwork. And its hard work that brought here. Lazy people hated him because he has a nose to sniff laziness no matter how you would pretend.

  48. Lusaka time, why is my comment in moderation? # 64 i was just saying your world wide web is not coming up…i hope LT will let this one pass.

  49. The other plus for Mr Sata is that he’s not that educated but he loves surrounding himself with highly educated men and women so that he could use them to produce intended results. It’s un common with many people. Many people are not comfortable with challenge. But, Sata is and looks forward to that intellectual and professional challenge. If you are in doubt just look at RB’s cabinet. If you are still not convinced, look back at KK’s cabinets. When MMD came in they had a lot of highly educated men and women. Levy started flashing them out. RB, has completely flashed them out due to fear of challenge.

  50. #66 Peter, I think you do not understand management hierarchies at all. At governonr level, Sata could have been likened to a line Manager. At Ministerial, you have a functional manager where a function is a Ministry. At the presidential level, you are the chief executive officer and deal mainly with strategic decisions. You need to understand the thinking in each functional ministry well enough to be able to digest what opportunties could help move the nation forward. Above all, you need to have your vision on how things should be done and how you want the nation to develop – so what attributes do you need? An analytical mind, good listener, comminucator, delegator, people touch and some very good degree of wisdom – and all these require intelligency and sufficient education.

  51. Continued from #70 – Chiluba failed because he lacked vision, wisdom, was not a good listener but a manipulator, very poor at delegating genuinely, created mistrust among people and lacked sufficient education to deeply understand systems. Even up to now, I can tell you that Chiluba does not fully understand Zambia’s real development backbone – he was a panta panta president full of lies. The man is a liar and can lie at any level. Can you imagine a guy telling lies to a person like Mandela ( a very principled man) and hope the world can give him respect – he must forget or die early may be he will be buried sympathetically.

  52. #33 Madame Lara. That’s the fighting spirit we require in a fighter. Never giving up. People who believe in themselves that they can make a contribution to improve things never give up. I personally have that spirit of never giving up and I have move, thus far.

  53. One piece of advice to SATA and RUPIAH – Please do not apply for a job you know you can’t do. You will only embarass yourself. Learn from other people’s mistakes and judge yourself. Chiluba knew he could not make a President but applied for it and we carelessly gave it to him. Did you see the results – Chiluba is now disgraced person. Rupiah applied for the Presidency and we gave it to him. Can you see what is happening – he is busy galivanting as if there is no work waiting for him. Sata too could be making a mistake if he applied for that job again because he will also embarass himself. KK was a real President and he used to tell you – this seat is hot, no jokes about it. Did we listen? If only we had, some of our colleagues would still be alive today!!!

  54. #69 PETER … you are very right. Sata is a leader as #70 has given the qualities of a leader. All these qualities are in Sata thats why he was able to perform in all Ministries. The man has special polical-leadership qualities which are lacking in the educated people like Sondashi, Nawakwi etc. If really Sata was nothing in the political arena, he would been coming last and villagers would have been his mates. PEOPLE JUST OWN UP TO THE FACT THAT SATA HAS CONFOUNDED YOU THE EDUCATED ,period.

  55. #47 Kambongolo, some (few of course) people hate SATA and you don’t need to go far to know why. The man is not formerly educated but only informally educated. Despite that SATA is endowed with abundant wisdom and intellect-whether one likes it or not. Despite his lack of formal education SATA has exceedingly, many pluses. He’s a performer. Few people (if any), can break away from the main party as strong as MMD, form up their party and even be second strongest opposition. Few men/women can be uneducated but still command such respect from highly educated men and women like SATA.

  56. #75 Peter, Being a party organiser is not synonymous with being a President. Anyone can mobilise our jobless masses and promise them heaven on earth and they will follow. That is the easiest part. Jacob Zuma is one such good example. We are yet to see if he can deliver what he promised when he wanted to be elected. Running a country requires that you understand systems, their constraints, perceive opportunities and exploit them. Analyse issues and respond to them, line up your priorities and make sure the whole game is not derailed by uncalled for emergencies. And that requires tact – I doubt it very much if these are qualities Sata possesses. Reflect, if he can fail to mange 46 MPs, how can he manage 12million people. He might be a good micro manager but not a macro manager worth of leade

  57. SATA has also experienced life abroad (unofficial) in the UK for an appreciable length of time, people say. Therefore, he understands the meaning of hardwork and high standards. A few people I have spoken to say Sata earned his money through sweeping the streets of London during the time he used to live in London. To me and many people this is a big plus as compared to someone who attained his 1st, 2nd, and PhD in Zambia without any outside life’s experience. Travel is the best teacher, (or, umwana ashenda atasha nyino kunaya).

  58. #75 PETER…. Just look at the parties of the educated Nawakwi -FDD, Sondashi, Sakwiba etc. Who can match with Sata? Nawakwi and Sakwiba as educated as they are went to worship RB. Their parties have failed …why? THE FACT IS THAT THEY LACK THE POLICAL-BRAINS WHICH ARE IN SATA. I am educated but I have to give paise where it is due. SATA IS NOT JUST UNEDUCATED PERSON TO PUSH , HE IS A FORCE TO RECKON WITH. What is needed is what the UPND has done. Working together with SATA.

  59. SATA found populace among the unemployed in urban areas and the petty business souls in urban markets like nakadoli, main masala, soweto town centre you name them.it has nothing to do with quality leadership but knowing the tone to use to convince these poor souls.telling them what they want to hear.that once i assume office life will change in 30days,you will have new houses.you will grab all the stations and markets.on the other hand villagers remember that before levy came in.chiluba and sata were not buying agriculture produce.so after toiling and spending the little they had on fertilizer in the end they were at the mercy of brief case business people as chiluba and sata called it private sector participation.so the villagers are now benefiting from FRA and are very intelligent to…

  60. #76 Kachonga wa bantu. Contribution #75 isn’t my only contribution. It’s just one of a few. #75 is particularly attributed to #47 Kambongolo.

  61. After levy revived FRA despite it’s inconsistecies.the villagers are now at least assured of selling their produce.now even in villages you find malata roofed houses and at least a black and white Tv and bicycles which they were not buying when chiluba and sata left them at the mercy of the brief case scavengers they so called private sector.so the people in the villages are more inteligent than those in urban areas who believe somebody can put more money in their pockets.

  62. #79 AKAPONDO……what fertilizer are you talking about? I have done some rural research on FSP and the stastics on the people who receive FSP-fertilizer are shocking? Do you know that less than 50% of the FSP-fertilizer goes to the poor peasant farmers it is meant for? Do you know that the MMD guys also benefit from the fertilizer you are taliking about?…..any way let me end here man.

  63. Kukalale
there you are, hurling insults and obviously feeling good about it? My ego won’t take a pounding from your insults and I can assure you that I’m strong enough to resist the temptation to post insults on this site: I used to be like you, but now I’m a grown man, a mature blogger, so to say. Peace be with you, Shalom!

  64. kambongolo,
Did i mention FSP in my posting.i didn’t because under chiluba-sata goverment it was none existent.the villagers used to fight on their own.yes i agree with you,in the present set up it is been abused because it has been politicised.something which even SATA can continue doing if he were to ascend to power as he is a master at cadre mobilisation.only that god forbids he cant rule.so the only man who took it to the people was kaunda because he involved chiefs and the church.credit to him

  65. #70. I am not talking about your hierarchies, but what one can do within the bounds of authority. Don’t be so academic and confuse yourself in the process. Take it real and simple. Poor people don’t feed on academic theories.

  66. #85, do you really think the way a governor works is the same as a President? Do you think the job of a minister who has several governors under him is the same as that of a governor? If you do not understand at level you are operating then you end up interfering with each and cause confusion in the process. That is why you have people like Tetamashimba quarelling with marketeers when in actuual fact marketeers are supposed to argue with their councillors. When Sata was LGH minister, he created by-laws about street vending, right. What happened with those by-laws and why are they not being enforced?

  67. I think we should learn to accept one fact that, some people are born leaders and I promise you that Sata will one day rule Zambia. If there has been any politician who has been so consistent and well knowledgeable about issues in our country, it is the man no other than Michael Sata. We all have enough evidence of the achievements that this man had attained in his tenure of lower leadership, why can’t we just accept that this could be the man to save our lovely country. He may not posses a degree in his life, but he is one of the best leaders Zambia will ever have. We must also note that a person with education may not always match a person with intelligence. Sata is an intelligent person.

  68. #78 Kambongolo. Thank you. Thats what we are saying. I am highly educated, too. But, I do admire the brains of SATA to say the least. Those who say they don’t are just lying or jealous of him. Those educated just don’t have it. Their parties are just bief-case ones. Because of their education they are so foolishly proud and ashamed to join the uneducated but successfull SATA. Lawyers!! Economists!! What b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t.

  69. KACHONGA WA BANTU,
You dont have to wait and see if jacob zuma will deliver on his promises.the man has been invaded by red ants(impashi)he is always praying for nightfall he doesn’t want to see the day because the hungry souls pour on the streets looking for heaven he promised them.he made a lot of promises and aligned himself very much with the under priviledged ecking out a reputation of a messiah.typical of SATA.he pretends like he has a clue of how to pull out these delusioned poverty stricken relatives of ours from their squalor but he forgets that he first has to fix the economy for it to yield surplus monies for charity if they can even be there.
But him is not a fool the fools are the people who buy his crap.

  70. Party mobilisation in a country where unemployment is rife is a question of telling people what they want to hear and Sata, no doubt, is very good at it. Mind you he has been around for so long and knows issues people talk about and seizes every opportunity to talk as if he cares for them. The reality is Sata in leadership is very dictatorial, very cruel, lies a lot, no diplomacy and highly inconsistent. You do not want a President like that do you? To make people work with you as a President, people must feel they belong to a genuine system and NOT be dictated upon like kids. Have you ever wondered why PF has never held a convention? How do you think all surbodinates to Sata feel? They are powerless without the King Cobra. If that is good leadership, then we better stop breathing and die

  71. “SOUTH African President Jacob Zuma’s spokesperson and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs yesterday said they have no confirmation of an appointment for President Rupiah Banda to hold bilateral talks with President Zuma.In a telephone interview from Pretoria in South Africa, President Zuma’s spokesperson Vincent Magwenya said he did not know anything about bilateral talks between presidents Zuma (left) and Banda. When asked about the meeting between presidents Banda and Zuma and what would be the key issues during their bilateral meeting, Magwenya asked: “When is that? When informed that President Banda had already left Zambia for South Africa to have a meeting with President Zuma, Magwenya responded: “When?…I will have to come back to you on that chief. I haven’t received any confir

  72. “”When?…I will have to come back to you on that chief. I haven’t received any confirmation on that one.””

  73. And you just have to look at the same educated people surrounding SATA.sheer opportunists.just dive on every vehicle that looks like it is headed for state house.you count how many parties they have been to as members and it will give you a clue as to what type of people they are if you’ve got brains.

  74. “And South Africa’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs department of international relations and cooperation spokesperson Nomfanelo Kota said her desk did not have any information about President Banda’s trip to South Africa for a meeting with President Zuma.”

  75. #90 Akapondo – well said, the rest is for the doubtint thomasses to digest. Sata simply cannot make a good president and I believe that strongly. He has a lot to learn about governance in general, building systems and institutionalising them and learn how to get the best out of people at different levels without bullying. He is simply NOT a transparent democratic person. He might have other qualities but without the aforementioned qualities, the whole nation will be run by the police and soldiers and NOT the cabinet. In short Sata would simply bring anarchy in Zambia and may end up being overthrown.

  76. #88 Shisa Clofford, Walasa mundala, people who fear Mr Sata thats one thing they forget. The man has been consistant with Zambian problems and his leadership style has been proven in what he archieved when he served in GRZ.

  77. DEAR BLOGERS
So much has been said about SATAs Education.Does it mean good or bad leadership depends on ones level of Education? How Educated was KING SOLOMON to be called the wisest king in the history of ISRAEL? Was it education or experience in life that made him to be called the wise leader? PLATO once said “Education improves the standard while Experience improves and maintain the standard of leadership”.SATA can be a good or a bad leader not because of his EDUCATION.Leadership is all about experience and pragmatism …..

  78. # 88 shisa clifford. Bushe mune niwe ani weulebonfya gravator yandi. Iyee tata mayo eeh!!! Efyo mwipaila nabantu. Napapata mune shimya ako kantu ubikile apo. Alla chikope chamwana wandi icho waiba. Mune shisa fimo fimo.

  79. # 88 shisa clifford. Bushe mune niwe ani weulebonfya gravator yandi? Iyee tata mayo eeh!!! Efyo mwipaila nabantu. Napapata mune shimya ako kantu ubikile apo. Alla chikope chamwana wandi icho waiba. Mune shisa fimo fimo.

  80. “But according to President Zuma’s diary on his presidential website, there is no appointment for a meeting with President Banda.President Zuma’s diary is blank today and tomorrow but on Friday he would meet school principals from across South Africa in Durban and on Sunday he would deliver a keynote address at the National Women’s Day Celebrations in KwaZulu Natal Province.US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is next week expected to visit South Africa and hold bilateral talks with President Zuma.” READ THE WHOLE STORY IN THE POST-ITS FREE

  81. #101, In this day and era, unfortunately you cannot run away from education as a vital ingredient to understanding things. In Sata’s case, it is not so much about his education, he has enough basic education to communicate but it is that cutting edge that helps one analyse different options in order to make an infoirmed decision that he lacks. Sata would order someone to kill another person over a pot of nshima when just a little bit of dialogue could solve the problem amicably and you call that leadership – have you forgotten the Chawama incidents? It was Satamania.

  82. In a civilised country where issues are the conerstone of the nation’s political framework RB and SATA should not even be people to talk about as candidates for the 2011 elections.Ka HH should abandon the madness he has entangled himself in.Given lubinda should also tone down his abrasive rhetoric and start talking about policy matters so that these can jump on the political platform and square it up with profferssor clive chirwa and convince us as to who realy has the vision to move this country forward.serious issues only.no name calling or insults

  83. At this point Mr Sata should accept that his time to rule has gone coz now Zambia needs a young commrade to take politics to a different level, thou we appreciate his consistence with talking about problems in our country and his active contributions to zambian politics.
its time for HH to utilise this Chance and sale what he has to zambians. In 2011 we need a president who is not starborn and selfish like Rupia Banda.

  84. Ba Rupiah Banda balikwata ifima Degrees. Necalo cili pa break-neck speed ya development. Nsala naipwa mu Zambia. I think kateka afwile ukusoma sana nga ba RB, mwe!

  85. #101 ASHSASHIN you have a very good point there.
It takes a lot more than just academic qualifications to be a good leader. A good leader is one has a vision and will power to do the impossible. One who combines integrity, enthusiasm and success: a good leader is hard to find.

  86. ONE WILL GO HANG JUST BECAUSE OF SATA. People you are educated why cant you whip SATA? Listen to what the uneducated SATA promised people on the high prices of fuel. SATA said ” I will reduce the price of fuel when I come into power.” MMD and others laughed at him and questioned how he was going to do. SATA said ” I will remove some of the TAXES imposed on fuel” the MMD-guys laughed the more and again questioned him where he was going to find the money coz Govnt’s money are taxes?. SATA told them ” I am going to tax the mines since they dont pay tax on their profits” . The MMD- guys laughed the more as the uneducated person told them how the govt should be run. What did the MMD govt do…….they went in their offices and implemented want SATA had said. SO WHO IS WISE HERE.

  87. Reading the mood of the people correctly is a virtue in leadership. If Sata observed correctly, 2001 was an election year for UPND – Mazoka had the game plan slashed out very nicely. Chiluba the crook was told about this. The FDD guys misread the mood and Sata too misread the mood. A direct contest between Mazoka and Mwanawasa that year would have guranteed landslide victory for Mazoka. But the inclusion of the many spoilers some of whom were even funded by Chiluba spoilt the game for UPND – very annoying feat. But as peace loving Zambians we all later accepted LPM and he tried his best BUT that illegitimacy still haunted him so much that it actaually slowed his performance. Chiluba killing the nation using crooked means again. So the number one ENEMY to zambians MUST be Chiluba, hahahaha!

  88. Kukalale or whatever you call yourself, you are such an embarrassement to Zambia and to yourself. Dont you have a life? This is not a platform for fools like you to insult people you have differnces with. You really are a chicken head and with people like you we cant develope. You must be a G3 drop out .so go back to G3 where you are staying as an asylem seeker or refugee, bukaboyi nabukupesha? People like you should have their heads shoveled where the sun never shines. work your math.

  89. #103, ASSHASSHIN, King Solomon was the wisest man not only in Israel but the whole world. However, he also did foolish things (like having 1000 wives/concubines) especially when he drifted away from the lord. I agree with you that leadership is not about degrees. Wisdom and character outweigh the need for degrees in leadership.

  90. SATA always castigated the mwanawasa goverment as lacking vision and treating the mines with kid gloves before they started taxing mines.when magande passed legislation to that effect.there was an uproar from the mine owners and even threatened to withdraw their investments.sata suddenly changed and started siding with the mine owners prompting THE POST then to wonder if he had principles at all.the problem with sata is that he always tend to speak off the cuff.his rhetoric is never on record that’s why he can say something today only to change the otherday depending on his audience and what they want to hear.and those who want to paste wisdom on him must be serious.a wise leader does not butcher his subjects with matchets no matter how they differ with him.

  91. In the next elections we should not entertain characters who masquarade as having wisdom even if they lack academic qualification.this is not the post chachacha era.we are in era where everything is moving at a fast rate both economically and scientifically.so it does not only require wisdom but advanced refined education qualifications because the president wont be presiding over clan or tribal matters but over global related economical and scientific matters which requires an interlectual understanding.so non educated, certificate holders, keep your dreams off the presidency.diploma holders please upgrade your qualifications.but not in fields like zobotany, zoology or catering. You can try your luck at councillor level maybe you can become mayors.

  92. NINE CHALE 112 that very much correct mudala. You dont have to be a calculus maniac to make an impact politically.

  93. Some zambian Traditional Chiefs are a disgrace to their subjects. how dare you parade yourselves for one ngwees, mwebakalamba fye-muleibwelamo. Can someone convince me if at all such people can teach the young generation integrity apart from begging. what a shame to such desparate leaders. i feel Zambia has a long way to go. it is up to the young generation to redeem themselves because no one will. that am sure because we have enough evidence to show for it.

  94. Rupiah Banda was born in Rhodesia now Zimbabwe, did he denounce his citizenship?i don’t think so he still has property and investments there, zambians wake up- KK malawian.FJT Zairian LPM Zambian(he had the country’s interest at heart)RB WTF?…

  95. African borders are pretty much porous because they were created by foreigners for their own interest. There are Lamba people in Congo so one could accuse you #124 of not being Zambian. Levy used to favour his own ethnic groups – Lamba and Lenje. How is that in the intrerest of the whole of Zambia? We need to look for the bigger picture. No country in Africa is going to develop by itself thats why we need to examine pan Africanism. Zambia as a landlocked country and its relatively small and poor population is not in a position to champion its own destiny whoever is in charge.
