Mwata Kazembe calls for High school in his chiefdom

Share

Senior chief Mwata Kazembe of the Lunda people in Mwasabombwe , Luapula province, has called on government to construct a high school in his area to enhance education for all.

The Mwata Kazembe said there was need to construct a high school because there are only basic schools in his area.

Speaking at his palace when Luapula province Minister Dr. Boniface Kawimbe paid a courtesy call on him in Mwasabombwe yesterday the traditional ruler said that land was readily available for building a school.

Mwata Kazembe noted that his area required a high school with boarding school facilities saying education was key the development of the nation.

Mwata said Mwasabombwe needed a boarding school because boys and girls walked long distances with an aim of attaining an education.

He said that Mwasabombwe has been asking government to construct a high school for a long time adding that he was confident that the current administration would consider the plight of the people of Mwasabombwe.

  1. Where did Criticles Mwansa get his education? Is the Mwata learned? Now I understand why these pipo are more into fishing, manipulation, gossip and deceipt. this now explains. Zambia we made a mistake to vote for that little giant in the name of FTJ. More mistakes in aquitting him

  2. Good words from the chief. Give him a high school but let him participate in building it by mobilizing his subjects to provide free labour. They can at least make pan bricks.

  3. #2 MY OWN STYLE: If you dont know anything just ask insteady of being sarcastic from ignorance. Mr Mwansa was educated at St Clements in Mansa which is like from Ndola to Kapiri Mposhi from Mwansabomwe. Dont belittle the Chief. His approach had no fawning like we have seen in Chiefs like Mwanachingwala.

  4. Deja Vu,
Did you see question marks in my posting? Or may be you have decided to ignore even the little English you learnt at one of the Basic Schools in Mwansabombwe!lol

LOL. I think Deja Vu has a point regarding your #2. There’s no mention of Criticles Mwansa in teh article, so it’s possible you implied he got educated from Mwata’s area. Yes I aslo know that Criticles was at St Clements because I saw him there.
You may also be interested to know the Kazembe is anot a typical fishing area for what I know from Geography studies. Nchelenge, Samfya are big of fish. Other town s just import from them.

Yes the chief is correct to ask for a high school. I hope he can also mobilise some donor money, instead of it going into Kapoko’s pockets. I dont come form Kawambwa but I wish him well for development’s sake.

  6. Criticles Mwansa is a big name in Zambia and he comes from that area and mentioning him is encouraging others to get a better education as they should not wait for the school to be completed toget to school. By the way do you know the elder brother to Criticles? He is called Pardon Mwansa as he is the current World Vice President for SDA Church based in America. Where did he do his education? Where was he going to be if he was still waiting for this RB school to be constructed. Please donot think for me. You are good people. Viva Mwansabobwe. Mwansabombwe is a big fishing area. Do you Matuka the short sized black breams? Donot just read books visist Mwansabombwe during Mutomboko or any other time

  7. The chief is very wise education is key to any development we need more schools in zambia and more colleges universities I wait for a time when every province will have one

  8. Very very good words from the loyal highness but where are the Member of parliament from the same area cause i believe him should be on yhe consultations part

  9. what a clever chief, the govnment has already mobilised funds for the long overdue school, however the chief needs some basis for his new support to the Govnt. Watch his moves the next thing you will hear is that the chief has thrown his weight behind RB because the govnt had listened to him over the school.

  10. Thats a very good calling .Mwata Congratulations thats the service we need for our poeple .I only hope the government will attend to your good calling for our poeple.I thank you Mwata for that .

    You are a good man.

Its good that people travel to schools far from where they live. Some Lusaka and Copperbelt people attend boarding schools in Luapula. Even when the Kindom has a high school there will be some people who will opt for schools further. But local schools are needed for day scholars and employment.

#9 BK. You are spot on – where is the MP for the area. A school is so big that everyone should come on board. Who is the MP for Kazembe?

  12. Every child in Zambia should be in basic, high school, or college. And the money to make that possible should be made available to local government directly by the ZRA, without interference by central government. If half of all revenues were made available to local government, everyone would have education, healthcare, security, public utilities and administrative ussues could be dealt with locally, instead of going through the ministry. Also, if MP tasks were reduced to lawmaking and representing their constituency in parliament, a lot of money can be saved. And a lot of single appointing authority functions that were all about party control could be scrapped.

  13. Kalombo Mwane Mwe lunda. When the area MP is more interested in NNC, then why wait. Anyway I will get in touch with the Mwata as I usually do. I hope our people in Mwansabombwe will know who to vote for in 2011.
