RB is not to blame over the fuel crisis-NICA president

Share

National Initiative citizens Awareness (NICA) president Kelvin Sampa says his organisation is not pleased with the blame game that has emanated over the fuel crisis in the country.

Mr. Sampa said it was unfortunate that Republican President Banda’s administration was being blamed by sections of society and individuals over the fuel crisis in the country.

He said it was a known fact that there are people trying to undermine Mr Banda’s leadership and his government by blaming him fr causing the fuel crisis.

He urged government to fully carryout an Audit of the Energy Regulations Board ( ERB ) saying its operations was worrying the Zambians.

He added that the ERB Board wrongly advised Energy and water development minister Kenneth Konga over the fuel crisis in the country which led to the President to be misinformed on the matter.

He said this at a press briefing in Lusaka today.

Mr Sampa noted that it was disappointing to note that ERB could not apologies to the Zambian people over the crisis saying it was unfortunate that it had to take President Rupiah Banda to apologies to the nation on the crisis.[quote]

He said his organization wondered why the ERB existed as its purpose has failed to work to regulate energy in the country.

Mr Samapa said the leasing out of the Zambezi Oil Transport (Z.O.T) to Samfuels, a company allegedly owned by a named business man, by the ERB is strange as the matter was in courts of law.

Sections of society are expressed concern n the continued fuel shortage that has gripped the nations. Some concerned Zambians are calling for the resignation of Energy and Water Development minister Kenneth Konga over the crisis.

On the other hand, Opposition Forum for Democracy and Development leader Edith Nawakwi , has pointed an accusing finger at Mr Banda who she says is an inept leader who has failed to manage the fuel crisis.

  1. ZANIS, what level of education are your journalists? Their language structure, tense usage as well as adjective use is atrocious, to say the least. Innocent Mwewa, look into this please.

  2. He may not be responsible for the fuel crisis but the responsibilty to deal with it squarely falls on his shoulders. As the president, he is expected to delegate his government to act in order to set the right course of action to ease the crisis.

  3. Iwe Sampa we mbushi wee!! then tell us who we should blame and kick for this fuel crisis. If your RB was serious he should know about the operations of each ministry! he does not know yet he claims to be in charge!! Iwe Sampa, what does this mean: National initiative Citizens Awareness?????? Please bloggers, help me understand this NICA!!!!!!!!

  4. Nawakwi should not just play the blame game to gain political mileage. Its a known fact Nawakwi has lamentably failed to manage FDD.Under her,FDD has slid from a powerful opposition party to one of those parties.

  5. Ba Sampa dad ala umuchinshi mwene umuntu aipela. Your boss Nyama Soya RB is incharge of our great nation Zambia. Who should we blame? RB was denying the fact that there was fuel shortage and on top of that he directed the ERB to increase the price of fuel. What a leader we have in Zambia. In the whole history of Zambia, there has been no fuel shortage to this embaracing extent. BUSHE NAGU NI BU BOOTLICKER NIFI imwe ba NICA??

  6. I wonder how much this man was paid to say this nonsense! The president is incharge of his ministries, those minister are just there to help the president run the nation i emphasize the word ‘HELP’. So ba Sampa tata the responsibility of running the nation falls in the hands of the president. So we blame the president because his not in control of things, if he were in control, things would have been fine, the fact that his getting incorrect information from his ministers and tolerating it, means that his a weak president whose job is seeking help on how to rig elections while important things like energy matters are getting messed up! so Mr Sampa just SHUT THE F@&% UP if you have nothing to say.

  7. Has RB got any control on anything in our Country??? Kaya kaya kaya we areon autopilot for a long time know if we are not carefull we shall crash land and very badly. Mwebantu we should do something Ubufi!!!!, Now shortages!!!, not long ago strikes in the nation. One wounders what will be missing or what scandal will be next. Iyi DRAMA YACHILAMO each time I see the letters RB in the title of an artical I even feel SICK. All the best my country men

  8. Sampa you must find better ways of defending R&B your thinking is very very shallow. Do you know the responsibilities of a president? a grade 5 pupil would give you the correct answer in case you are not sure. Revisit your grade 5 civics. Thats the problem iya cut and paste ( ukukopa) we cikopowe

  9. Sampa just apply for a job, don’t start by putting butter on the face of the appointing authority. This is the tactic of your villagemate Siulapwa, unfortunately he is yet to be honoured. I like that the President once said “I am the most cheated person, even one PS who didn’t like me when I was VP is now saying, I am a good leader.”

  10. Mr. Kelvin Sampa comments on the continued fuel shortage countrywide is annoying. I dont who he is trying to please or is job seeking. We vote for men and women who offer themselves for public service -ie to provide us with quality leadership not to be mislead. Timely mobility of pipo and goods in this modern world.

  11. Where is this Sampa character from, kansi? Its people like him who are taking this country backwards… and all because of ka brown envelope. If there is no food in a home, a man must take responsibility. Finshi alelanda? Dont annoy me! Thats why RBKB (Rupiah Bwezani Kanitundila Banda) LP (Lost President), has no clue whatsoever on how to run this country. To even answer a simple question on the Fuel crisis, he needs to read a speech!!

  12. Hey pipo, this guy is related to a high ranking Governemnt Official , so you will understand where this is coming from … i can cinfirm this

  13. He has a brother who was just appointed to a hogh Position by RB, So the rest explains itself…besides he looks like he has political ambitions by the tone of his language.
    “country men and women” etc

  14. To National Initiative citizens Awareness (NICA) president Kelvin Sampa plese read POST:
FORMER Republican vice-president Enoch Kavindele has said President Rupiah Banda and his sons’ greed is about to bring Zambia’s economy to its knees.
In an interview on Saturday, Kavindele blamed President Banda for the current fuel shortage the country was facing.
“It’s unacceptable that Rupiah and his sons’ greed is about to bring the economy of Zambia to its knees,” Kavindele said. “Banda must immediately give the same concessions he has given to his sons to the oil marketing companies OMCs so that we have fuel,” he said.

  15. ala kwena ba sampa zoona,so who do we blame if we cant blame it on the BOMA?we cant blame it on the alcohol thats for sure.brown envelope receipient awards shud be introduced i tell you, with characters like this.

  16. This is what you expect from old guards, these men and women are not matching with modern times. One wonders what the so called special advisors and the PS’s are doing. These are the ones who are supposed to be on top things the problem is most them are party cadres they understand lito of the issues which these shotages are going to have on the who economy. We may not be able to achieve project economic growth and bringing down inflation. Imagine being on the mobile phone finding out where the fuel is. We are being taken back to UNIP era of essential commodities shortages. What has happened to those strategic fuel reserves scattered around the country? They are just empety gathering rust.

  17. Imagine they are just gathering rust and we have people like kelvin sampa who are busy boot licking so that he can be considered for a post in the government to enjoy the benefits like his colleages.its a shame really.this country cant go forward with peolpe like sampa saying that we shouldnt blame the BOMA.I hope he does read this.

  18. I blame LT for all this.iwe LT why do u even waste time publishing some n.o.n.s.e.n.s.e.  talk?pipo like this mbuzi NICA shud not be given platform to talk.
***NB : NIKA is an old name for a dirty, smelly girls’ underwear.Just like “bamba” is an old name for a boy’s underwear.

  19. Kelvin Sampa lisaka these guys with brief case NGO’s are failures l think no one is funding him so he is panicking to have a job otherwise pa nganda bakulalalila impwa ngata chenjele. Just start a ka small business or just look for a proper job if you have qualifications, otherwise what he has started is a none starter he will neva be given a job he should ask his friends, sakwiba, nawakwi, siulapwa etc

  20. You know this is what corruption can do, no civilised Zambian voted for RB but corrupt characters like VJ, were in the forefront to rig elections to bring their friend into power, and poor villagers who know little about Zambian economy see what is happening.. no controll things have follen apart
