RB playing double standards on political violence, SACCORD

Share

The Southern Africa Centre for Constructive Resolution of Disputes(SACCORD) has accused Republican President, Rupiah Banda of playing double standards in dealing with political violence in the country.

The organization has also questioned the national leader’s authenticity in fighting against political violence in the country.

Commenting on Lusaka provincial chairman, William Banda’s decision to send over 2500 ruling Movement for Multi party Democracy MMD youths to Luapula province, to counter any violence, SACCORD information officer, Obby Chibuluma says that it is surprising that President Banda seems to have not take note of that action.

Mr. Chibuluma indicates that president Banda did assure Zambians that the MMD would never engage in violence and it is very shameful that he has decided to keep quite over the transportation youths.

He says that President Banda should have stuck to his word and recalled the youths who have been sent to Luapula in order avoid the situation in Mufumbwe recurring.

Mr. Chibuluma has also challenged government to allow an independent board to inquire over the violence in Mufumbwe.

  1. These youths ferried to Luapula are unemployed and maybe their level of education is very low. The youths are just being used by the ruling and opposition parties to actually kill themselves. This is shameful and the trend should come to a stop. Protection of individuals and the country’s internal affairs should be done by the ministry of home affairs and the police. It does not paint a good picture to know that the police is overtaken by the youths in dealing with political matters. Police department is a professional department and would actually know in advance if there will be a problem or not through its investigative wing. Please please stop using the youths!

  2. Love or hate it, wapya munzi Sata and his PF are in deep trouble while the PACT has degenarated into a political shell of hopelessness and doom.

PF strategy of sending 200 cadres to go burn Mansa and kill Chiluba on the Luapula soil has backfired as Chiluba takes a thunderous reception from his own people. On the other hand, the head of State His excellency President Banda is enjoying a wave of consensus meetings with Chiefs, the grassroot and voters around the country.

  3. Fr. Bwalya said RB Muwelelewel in Nyanja means Chizende is it true? Elo lwanya!!!!! Viva pact.**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==**==

  6. Why is it that non of the MMD thugs has been questioned by teh police except those from the opposition parties? Do it make sence really?? we need nothing but change, way with RB and MMD..:-h

  7. Paying evil for evil is the worst thing this so called RB and his group did by send hundreds of Movement for Mad and Disfucntion (MMD) thugs to Luapula. What are they trying to show!! Is it not the police’s job to maintain law and order, why caders?? This person is ready to sucrifice young people’s blood and drive our country into civil war and capable of doing whatever it will take to continue in power. Wake slumber zambians, for how long are you going to keep sleeping and dream peace in the middist of wa!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)>-

  8. Chiluba, RB and William Banda are deliberately causing anarchy in the country. What Chiluba is trying to do or discuss in Luapula is a recipe for physical confrontation among party members of different parties. Something is wrong in Chiluba’s head because he always wants to be associated with power. William Banda is openly talking about his violent behaviour while RB is pretending not to condone violence but he is not taking any action against his violent people. The contributors of violence are the police officers who are not acting professionally, they have been brain washed by the MMD. We need to record a lot of violence activities by MMD on video cameras to shame them on world stage.

  9. If true, this is a very worrying trend.

Violence does nothing but breed violence. Can we please hear from the IG. I want reassurances from him that there will be no evidence of violence in Luapula.

  10. IT IS REALLY SAD.LOOK AT GHANA,BOTSWANA HOW THEY HAVE PROGRESSED!WHY ARE WE INTO STONE AGE WAY OF DOING THINGS?CHACHACHA AND THE LIKES?AGAIN ZAMBIANS AGE IS A FACTOR IN MODERN POLITICS.THESE GREY HAIRED GERIATRICS ARE HEARDING US NO WHERE.

  11. Why is the MMD not using the police to maintain Law and order in Luapula. Is an admission that the Zambia Police have no balls. Chi RB, Ka Kunda what kind of a leaders are you

  12. Patriot
My friend I heal from Luapula and I am constatly go there. 2008 Election I was there Chiluba came try to campaign for your boss but failed even to tall to 4 or 5 pipo for fear to be harrased. Chiluba is not a factor any more in Luapula. That meeting has no impact on the Luapaula pipo may be to chiefs and you. The thunderous reception you are talking about are MMD sent by william banda from Lusaka and those pipo are saying its they money they now enjoying which Chiluba stole from Zambian. Thank you for embracing the Man who never did anything in Luapula closed Kawambwa tea mansa battery and stole our money. Christ said love your enemiy, but not embracing your enemy

  13. #4 what goes round comes round. If ever your kaponya leaders who introduced this kind of language became president, exactly the same language will be used against them. If you were a decent fellow, you would not take pleasure in such language, but then it is obvious that you have never heard of the words manners and decency.

  14. SACCORD, what do you want an independent inquiry for? Didn’t you read my previous blog where I questioned how the members of an independent commission would be appointed? With NGOs like SACCORD it would take years of fruitless debate. We are all anxious to find out what happened in Mufumbwe. The quickest and most transparent method to investigate that violence is through the petition before the courts of law. Why are you afraid of the petition?

  15. aha??! ba RB ba sanduka ichi nyawu? ati he doesnt use arvs him, he goes to sangomaz ku sasaflika, castle ama easterners. deuces bane:)>-
