Collins Mbesuma today signed for SA club Mamelodi Sundown’s for an unspecified period.
SportSoccer confirmed the deal between the 8-time South African league champions and the Zambian striker.
However, full details of the contract have not been disclosed.
Mbesuma has been training with Sundowns for the last 3 weeks hoping to impress the high-spending side from Pretoria.
The Zambian striker has been club-less since May after Bursaspor of Turkey terminated his contract just a season into a 3-year-deal.
Mbesuma will be making his first return to the South African league after 3 years where he made his name with Sundowns rivals Kaizer Chiefs in 2005 with whom he scored 35 goals in one season after joining from Roan United in 2004.
He went on to play for Portsmouth in England before being loaned to Maritimo of Portugal and later sold to Bursaspor last season.
-Faz disciplinary committee chairman chairman Sunday Nkonde has warned Mufulira Wanderers and Kitwe United officials from discussing their abandoned 1-1 Faz division 1 week 16 match played on August 3 at Shinde Stadium in the press.
Nkonde cautioned in a statement today that both United and Wanderers should show restraint over their pending disciplinary hearing.
“It is therefore advisable that interested parties show restraint and leadership in the manner they make comments on the intended disciplinary hearing,” Nkonde said.
“Unguarded comments by interested parties especially club officials are not only undesirable but may even result in disciplinary offences.”
A pitch invasion ensued followed when United equalized in the 87th minute away at Shinde last Sunday after Wanderers had earlier taken the lead in the second half through a 52nd spot-kick of their own leading to post-match violence.
United’s team bus and the visiting team officials cars were damaged during the post-match riots.
A date has yet to be set when the two clubs will appear before Faz’s disciplinary committee.
However, both Wanderers and United have submitted their respective reports on the riot.
-Zambian Breweries has pumped K300 million into the 2008 Coca Cola Interprovincial schools football championship kicks off this coming Monday in Kitwe.
This years Coke Schools championship will be held at Garden Park and will run from August 11-16.
Defending champions Ndeke of Kitwe will be hoping to make good use of homeground advantage to retain their crown for a record equaling 3rd time and record an unprecedented three successive wins.
Naboye of Kafue currently hold that record of three Coke schools titles but will not be in Kitwe this year after failing to qualify a year after they bowed out at the group stage in Lusaka last August.
Ndeke beat Sekela of Chingola 1-0 in last year final played at Woodlands Stadium to successfully defend their title.
In this years tournament, Ndeke are in Group A with Solwezi (Northwestern), Mwata (Southern), Kalonga (Central) and Nchelenge (Luapula).
Sekela are in Group B with Libala (Lusaka), Petauke (Eastern), Kambule (Western) and Mungwi (Northern).
Ba colley lyapuma nafuti twafweni nomba.you can do it c’mon dude.
Where is Chamboli Secondary mwebantu. For years, it was the dominant force in Nkana and Zambian Football. Recall, Shadreck Chungu, Benard Mutale (Tools and Hardware), Jerico Shinde, Wisdom Chansa, Dominic Mutale, Boniface Malitoli, Johnsone Katowando, Austin Chishimba, Daimon Chiboni, Clement Sungubele, Godfrey (Spear)Kangwa or Dunga as he was known at Warriors. Sholud I go on? I mis those days. Chamboli yandi ee!
I meant Johnstone Katowando
Hello, what about my former school Samfya? We used to hammer those days in the 80s. Shino nshiku it seems abaice napwa. Kuti bapwa, ulu lwakutemwe mpopo!!!
Why dont you form an alumni rather than boring us with your monologue of names which we dont even know. Get your self started by contacting the *****s you have mentioned and then register the chamboli alumni club. I know you will have to contribute handsomely towards your schools projects like borehole drilling.
thats why u r kod rubish. wats wrong abt mentionin old skool fellas? let those that hav been 2 skol say it. i gues u went 2 a skool that has nthing 2 write home abt. nite skool indeed. 4ma chamboli pupils r doin wel. tok of those that were stayin in wusakile most r engineers. kip ur gabbage rubbish!
Hope we can tap some talent from this tournament. All those academies should have scouts to this even.
It’s the Legends match-Germany 3 England 1 with 73 minutes gone.
Rubbish, if you have never heard of the names mentioned at # 2, you are really rubbish and do not know anything about Zambian Soccer! I take pride in where I have come from – to where I am now – not that I am in the USA but my academic and profssional achievements. To think Chamboli secondary played a big part – I owe alot to it. I, however, really appreciate your suggestion of an alumni. Something to think about. At a personal level, I have already started helping out at the school. Soon you will hear about this – really soon.
YANGU #9 I agree with you sir the likes of Sungubele Clement {Maradona} I was in Zambia recently I met Bashinde, Sungubele, Austin Chishimba.Am just happy my brother you can remember these heroes. Have a nice day
Is jericho Shinde still ‘breathing’?..middle-field giant! He can do a good job drilling our sheepish central defence today.
Ba uncle jericho is alive and kicking. His immediate young brother is ba moses working at kitwe central hospital as a clinical officer.Phone him on mobile no. 0966946045 and he might connect you to ba jericho. The die hard witch fan.Ba jaricho made me to like the first zambian musical band to produce an album – Introduce.
#5. Uli Fontini_ There is nothing wrong with one recalling legends. Every team does that just listen to Man Utd how they keep talking about their greats.
Yangu -I am a die hard ” Rokana” I am suprised you did not mention Ben Chiteule. Nga te ma pint he would have been a great succsess!!
Can you leave number five alone! The man simply feels left out because you are narrowing your posts down to your history. Make them more general. The guy may be young and may he is only growing his interest in soccer now, so should he take all that beating from you bamwana shimaini. Am a former Ndeke Sec School pupil and though I may not be as young as you, I do recall some of the big names from Chamboli and Nkana. But thats no reason to yell at those who have not heard about your “greats”. Grow up ‘grown ups’.
And please stick to the issue at hand. You can use skype for your narrow comments. You can do conference chat for all the former ‘center’ inhalers.
Its not only Chamboli my fellow blogger that is worrying, think about my former might mukuba in kitwe with the likes of Thomas Bwalya,LLOYD Malama,Reuben Sakala,Brain Chisenga,Enerst Miti,Jaulani Sibande and another Goalkeeper named James once played foe Mutondo Stars. Also other great footballing skools like Matero boys-lewis Shambulo,Matthews Bwalya (GK), Chililabomwe-the late Ashouis Melu, the Mwanza brothers-Kenny and Simon,Katanshi-Kalusha Bwalya and Butondo-Quick Silver Ama bay-Beston Chambeshi. Can Chicken Joe(GEORGE Lwandamina)do something for 4mer skool Ndeke, like donating the teams complete set of attire-boots,jerseys and the likes. It was good watch this felas shine those days.
Where is chassa boyz? Legends will remain who they are, it is not a crime remembering the smiles they brought on our faces in the stands.
Rubbish says somethin valuable which I think you should heed. I am talking to yall former centre inhalers. Form an ALUMNI (tho i know this is not yet a Zambian thing)and make others’ dreams come true. then, should the Lord Tarry, others will have the memories you have
# Probably Alumni (the word) is new but schools have had OldBoys(Girls) Association for a long time now. If you mean changing the names from Association to Alumni to suit the current (adopted -copied) American language – that is another thing. #12 Mbuzi, how could I have forgotten my own classmate! Thanks for the reminder. Diggers Town, that’s a good line up of former school boy internationals you have. Now wonder we had such a strong National Team base.
If only RUBBISH @ #5 had exercised wisdom & restraint in putting across his comment, it would have been well received. Some of the illustrious names mentioned did the nation proud and have since passed on. Decency requires some respect for the dead and a little humility would have helped you to avoid such a stupid remark. I was not yet born when some of these greats were plying their trade but being an avid follower of the local game, I know alot about them. Lets be wise.
Ala abaiche ba nomba makulafye mumano “ba Mbesuma tebukula bulengele iyo bukopo!!dude has been ripped by the so called agent.its important to sit behind the test…
Renard & Ba Kalu lets now call Sinkala to add value to the team or else it will be difficault to qualify.
# 21 is right. lets forget about personalities and if we are serious then we call ANDREW SINKALA to play in mid field with abena chris rainford mbesuma tana and the rest.
Kalusha please forget about the past. Forgive those two players.
Assess Sinkala and Sichone now or else we are out of the world Cup.
#2, thanks for reminding us of the yester year players.I feel so nostalgic lovely stuff.I recall my gifted cousins; Pele Kaimana,Francis Kajiya(Mbesuma’s dad,Milton Muke, etc etc,Clement Soweto Banda,Ghost Mulenga etc etc uuh those were days!!!!!!!!

bola yalipwa fye pa zed
What about serenje school club
Please, Great Kalu consider Lamisha Musonda in under 20 chipolopolo national soccer team. The young boy should start being part of our team for our future chipolopolo team. Batila akafumbe ukunona katula kubwaice.
Lets not just look at the current team, the boys playing at chiparamba under 17 are damn good, but i doudt if the corrupt FAZ will even consider grooming any of them, they just won a tournament
Ba jericho is still alive and kicking in kitwe. His young brother ba moses is at kitwe central hospital working as a clinical officer. His mobile no. is 0966946045.
I last met my lost friend at chamboli. That austin chishimba nicknamed as Garth Crooks.Hope you all remember Bucktown, one of the few rastafarian to have graduated at Chamboli secondary from 1979 upto 1983.
