MMD thanks NW Province but Chief Mpidi not satisfied

Share

The MMD leadership in Northwestern Province has thanked the people in the Province for electing Mr. Rupiah Banda as republican President.

Provincial Secretary Obert Mayambu said that the people of the province were happy with the economic and good governance programs embarked by the party throughout during the years it has been in government.

Mr. Mayambu said that the Party has promised to work with the new President in improving the lives of the people in the province.

Mr. Mayambu further said the Province has endorsed the proposal by the Chairman of Information and Publicity for MMD Benny Tetamashimba that President Banda should be the Party’s Acting President because he has shown that he can organize and make the party tick throughout the nation.

Meanwhile Chief Mpidi of Zambezi District in Northwestern Province says he feels neglected due to lack of development in his area.

Chief Mpidi said this when Northwestern Province Permanent Secretary, Jeston Mulando, paid a courtesy call on him at his palace over the weekend.

Chief Mpidi claimed that feeder roads, especially from the Boma leading to his area and palace, were in a deplorable state and needed much attention.

He observed that feeder roads in his chiefdom were cardinal because they enable farmers transport their farming inputs to the market outlets, adding that the area produces a lot of maize.

Chief Mpidi has since appealed to government to consider putting up a pontoon on the Zambezi river to connect Mpidi to Lukulu district in Western Province to reduce the long distance and enhance transportation and promote trade between Zambezi and Lukulu.

The traditional ruler bemoaned lack of qualified officers at Mpidi Rural Health Centre, adding that the clinic was being manned by unqualified Classified Daily Employees (CDEs).

Chief Mpidi added that there was need to expand the rural health center and eqip it with qualified personnel to avoid preventable deaths.

And Northwestern Province Permanent Secretary, Jeston Mulando, said government has already mobilized machines to work on Mpidi/ Zambezi road which would be graveled  by April next year.

Mr. Mulando said a team of experts would also be sent to Mpidi to go and assess the site  so that plans to put up the pontoon would be considered.

Mr. Mulando said government has plans to construct high schools, local courts by 2009 and also expand Mpidi rural health center.

  1. are they sure they are happy with the Economy?! Maybe that side things are moving well, pantu Ubunga pakabwe ni K75,000…mmmmmmmmm!!!!!

  2. Chabipa Baby C you are not number 1 napa.Congrats Sylvia masebo for being number 1 though its like it is offending pipo in Great Britain.

  3. Ba chief you have to be Strong your area will remain under and undeveloped, maybe 2011, they might do some emergence works on the road and a few things here and there, three weeks before ELECTIONS!!!

  4. The spectator you are a Geneius.I like your # 5 comment. Why don’t you come back home so that you can stand for presido in 2011,I will be your campaign manager.

  5. Bafumu musa kufwa nazala. We told you to vote PF so that we can distribute developent but you ignored us.That Mutanda chavuma road has taken how many years? It started before i grew pubic hair and now am growing gray hair.Shame on the governments (MMD).

  6. Provinces like North Western draw as back in development….. iiii…..vote bapela nyama soya…… ukutemwa ubuchushi…. Even when they are developmental projects kwati lumwana but ukuchula kule ilako pamulu….. some1 tell these chaps in north-western to consider voting for some else…. bane we are in a crisis in this country the government has lost revenue in billions due to the irresponsible nyama soya during campaigns— NI BIG SPENDER- kapala nyama soya…. watch the prices of food, taxes and other commodities rise…..

  7. isnt this “road” dangerous? Only wild animals would see this road and say that there’s progress! Bakapoli, nangu ba kwindi. Imisanse ubutali!!! I guess there are even hyenas nearby… its dangerous to people. Bakateka, do something about it!!!

  8. that fine, zed should now realise that agriculture is key to economic progression.Minerals are diminishing assets and worse more zed does not obtain any value out of minerals.

Its just economic sense that prices are going up coz zed only imports. We are headed for economic doom sooners.

  9. Thanks northwestern. just wait, our practice in MMD is that the one who delivers an entire province gets the VIP position, there are a lot of capable men in Zambia from every province but only one is required at any given time and this is the criteria that seperates them. so in this case the vip will come from one of the following provinces N/western, Western and Central. The MMD might just honor you with a VIP this time around and then a presdo in 2011 or 2016. We want to move the copperbelt to that Area now our copper on CB has gone too Dip and if price remains down then it will be economically unviable.

  10. thats what happens wen u dnt vote on merit,a few chaps are enjoying the vote at the expense of poor chaps.look at people who benefit from from zed monies, its those along the line of rail.i know am lunda but i wud urge my tribes men and women to open thier brains and vote on principal

  11. I see that some of us do not know how a government operates. A Govt is not like a Kantemba. A Government is an Institution which is supposed to work for the whole country through its ‘National Development’ So its not about who voted for it those crooks in power! Like i said on the Western province road, the whole bloody Zambia needs good roads and not Western or Northwestern Provinces no!!!!! If this government will be a government of appeasement and segregation it will fail lamentably!!

  12. Georgia Russia,

Whats good with you my brother, I hope all is moving well withya and that you enjoying what you are and what you do! I am super, today seems a bit on down note for me!

  13. Bene chalo , the mutanda road has seen contractors come and go. it is like the Choma/namwala road how many years have you waited for the road to be worked on?

  14. #11,

    That is true, bayama ba Nyama Soya ni ba Big spender and indeed we lost a lot of revenue during the campaign period, which even rendered useless the basis of certain chiefs endorsing RB…ati we don’t have enough money to hold elections and let the money be taken to developmental projects ifyabufii fye…and you go and over spend like that…This one is CLASSIFIED{Do you know that there was a big argument in some meeting Government during campaigns,where it was suggested that more Kwacha be printed…to…nshalande?!}

  15. That road is just ok pipo moreover those pipo just need a path for collecting fire wood. Who ever made that road did them a very big favor otherwise they dont deserve it.

  16. # 20. The Spectator!! am great my good friend, just waiting for the year to end and go for my xmass break, the political tension is slowing down day in and out,for a simple reason that zambians forget easily, but that shud not be taken for granted by our learders coz one days pipo’s tempers will errupt and its gona be bad.development shud go to corners all of the country, they shud feel appreciated as well.other wise there many pressing issues govt and other stake holders need to look at,like ncc, employment creation, improving health conditions and probably coming up with a strategy to expand the road network in our cities, coz by the time i get my car,it will tek 2 hours geting 2town

  17. Sony Ericsson Phiri my Brother, whats going on?! are you good?! I am JAZZ…N/Western will not develop under this government (MMD) the same goes for the Whole country…watch this space…

  18. They promised to change things for you so dont complain, am sure meali meal will only go as far as K150.000 so we see who you will complain to,75000 for meali meal lelo come January it will be 200 pin

  19. The road looks like a LION can appear any time. Anyway thats a village what kind of a road do you expect there and for what.

  20. The chief should be patient.
Mwanawasa did his best to improve the economy after Chiluba and his colleagues including Michael SATA ruined the economy.
Now we have Banda who came only on Sunday last week, he cannot develop the nation in one week.
What the chief should be happy about is that his people contributed to keeping SATA away to avoid him taking the country back to his rule with Chiluba.

  21. That road is really good for an economy like Zambia. Mind you a road is a social good. Most rural roads in Zambia lead to nowhere and give no one any returns at all such that even the Government finds them a liability to have around. I tell you, only elections and not policies of MMD, UPND or PF save such roads and other rural infrastructure. What benfit is there in improving a road that only tusulwe and mbewa frequent?

  22. 35. Fine!

If you have heard the chief quite right, which i wish to assume you have, he is not asking RB to develop the nation or the Province in a week NO! It is just that he has not seen what MMD has done in his chiefdom for the past 17 years and RB pledged to continue on the promise which is not seen in Mpidi’s area…well i don’t why attach Sata to every comment you make, is it some sort of personal Feud we are unaware of? Don’t let that mess with your balanced if at all you wish to go that direction…

  23. we will have two vice president and Magande wont be finance minister but Mutati, mark my words.sata for life mpaka fye mumanda

  24. 10. PF Die Hard
Your Sata would even be worse. We have not forgotten his statement about Kavindele’s wish to be president. Sata insulted the people of North Western Province and has not yet apologised. We shall always remember those insults.
PF would be the last party to be voted for in NW province.
Bye bye PF and your Post.
At the rallies for PF in NWP, people where going simply to have a glimpse at the cobra or is it the Black Mamba.
    Change the leadership.
we do not want an illiterate in state house.
    Viva HHHHHHHHHHHHH

  25. “Mr. Mayambu further said the Province has endorsed the proposal by the Chairman of Information and Publicity for MMD Benny Tetamashimba that President Banda should be the Party’s Acting President because he has shown that he can organize and make the party tick throughout the nation.”

I just hope we will not hear calls from NW Province for Tentamashimba for Republican and MMD Vice President very soon with the rate at which Tentamanshimba is working with President RB Banda though he has a right to be one.

  26. PF DIE HARD,REMEMBER SATA WAS ALREADY IN GOVT WHEN ALL THOSE DEVELOPMENTS WERE HAPPENING(The development of pubic and the dilapedation of the road)SO WHAT WILL SATA DO THAT HE NEVER DID I ALL THESE YEARS?,UNLESS SOMEONE ELSE NOT HIM,MAYBE GIVEN LUBINDA!

  27. #41, I support your “Change the leadership.
we do not want an illiterate in state house.
    Viva HHHHHHHHHHHHH”

Surely let us all VOTE FOR ZAMBIA by endorsing president HH in 2011 for Zambian Presidency.

  28. You people you have been used by politician from you area to vote for rotten government. You will continue suffering if you are not carefull. you fellow country they say no to rotten govt hence they have a bridge if you continue voting rotten government kaya.

  29. #38. The Spectator!!,
I must correct you, I dont mention SATA in all my comments, but instead i do in most of them. Now, why do i keep mentioning SATA in most of my comments? Simple, SATA seems to feature in most of these subjects. For example, I cannot avoid mentioning SATA when I am discussing ‘Third Term’, or Chiluba’s economic mismanagement, or vote verification, or Kanyama matchet saga, or 90 day promisses, or reconciliation with Mwanawasa, or Fly-over bridges, or differences with his MPs, or holding no elections in PF for over 7 years, etc. SATA is at the centre of these matters. So avoiding to mention Sata is avoiding to talk about all these topics

  30. Viva CB, viva lusaka, viva luapula, viva northern province, viva southern province. We rejected rotten govt and its crooks.

  31. Following #42, Maestro Hhehhehhehhe, and the issue of Tentamashimba.
“He said the MMD in Southern Province feels Mr. Banda should act as party president until the party convention next year which will make a final decision on the matter…MMD Information and Publicity Chairman, Ben Tetamashimba has written to the MMD National Executive Committee proposing that Mr. Banda be appointed to act as party president.”

  32. the repeat of 1986 food riots is looming with mass job loses at KCM the MMD will have to find solutions to this problem. SATA had an answer to this. waite and see.

  33. Governance is the process of decision-making and the process of implementing that decision through different institutions in the management of the resource endowment of the state. Governance can be used in several contexts, such as corporate governance, international governance, national governance and local governance. Government is one of the actors in governance and other actors involve in governance vary depending on the level of government. Local level actors in governance are cooperatives, NGOs/, religious leaders, political leaders, financial institutions and above all local elected bodies…that is a semi description of good governance, now MMD is far from this well known because of

  34. …one prominent feature they have carried with them for the past 17 years and that is CORRUPTION! which undermines development, so ba chief try some else not MMD!!!

  35. You see FINE! Good governance, a normative principle, is an efficient management of nation’s resources and affairs such that it is participatory, equitable, accountable, transparent, and responsive to people’s need. Good governance ensures the formulation of appropriate policies and priorities to support the activities of the people to enable them to earn a decent livelihood, their access to state resources and opportunities and help them lead a long and productive life. Good governance encompasses the mechanisms, processes, and institutions through which citizens and groups articulate their interests, exercise their legal rights, meet their obligations and resolve their differences…

  36. After 17yrs of neglect by the MMD the poorest people in the NWP still vote for MMD hoping for better! This should change if there is going to be progress. The Solwezi-Zambezi Road is taking for ever to complete and the people still accept lies from MMD.I really don’t understand.

  37. There is someone talking about Veep Coming from NW Province. I think having Veep coming from your province does not help matters. For instance under LPM’s rule, the late President appointed two Veeps from Northern Province (Nevers and Mr. Mwape) no development happened in NP can be attributed to them. If anything it is only their lives and family that improved.

  38. …follow me fine! and don’t give up on my long postings. the point I am driving at is that this government you are saying will deliver in reference to comment # 35, will not because it lacks the attributes of good governance!!!

  39. A black and white fact!!! MMD will not deliver, hence the chief has all the rights to be inpatient with your government!!!

  40. A maximal definition of good governance would include the following: checks and balances among various organs of government, legitimacy and authority of state institutions, rules and norms that determine who holds power and the exercise of this power, relationships of accountability among state functionaries and between these functionaries and citizens, the capacity of government to formulate policies, manage administrative and fiscal affairs of the state, and deliver goods and services…The MMD definition is, get your cut and run!!!I pity people in rural Zambia because they always fall for the same things LIES!!!!

  41. I am telling fellow Zambians, when good governance in in this country is ensured, then corruption will be at minimum level and the views of minorities and the most vulnerable section of the society will be reflected in decision making…not ifii tulemona MMD is a failing government and a total opposite of what good governance entails, that is why the chief is crying the loudest…

  42. You see Fine! that is why I am anti-MMD, because that grouping virtually depicts every thing wrong for development, to make matters worse ati Nyama Soya, eefinshi ifii!!!

  43. Let me Burn this thread alone, the only party that can develop Zambia is PF PERIOD! not two ways about it!!!

    PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

  44. Mr The Spectator!!
I follow you very well my friend. Now, do you know that policies are on paper and even if these policies may be briliant, the leadership you have in place matters? For examples democrats and republicans in US have been around for ages, dont tell me because bush has failed to meet people’s aspirations the republicans have never had a good leader who has delivered in the past. If you agree that they have had, it follows that it does not necessarily follow the part but who leads at any given time. You dont condemn MMD but who leads MMD at any given time. Eg the time of SATA and Chiluba, they failed terribly.

  45. MMD thankin th refugees at maheba 4 voting for them ka!they rili tink we ar dul..nw,imagne teta as vp,kwena kuti naseka!awe,it wil b a dsgrace indeed..and al u mmd were is ur presidnt-RB,he is too quite, hop he is nt slepin.

  46. Tell me if there have been any elections to chose the leader HP , if not why do not you talk about it , except for PF . VIVA MAN OF ACTION . WE ARE BEHIND YOU

  47. SATA cannot change because he has come up with a different party.
It is not a party that does the work, it is people.
SATA mismanaged the country for 10 years, and now you can trust him.
Sata believed that there was nothing wrong with what Chiluba was doing, and support and advised him wanting him to continue mism, anaging this nation.
And you say that SATA can make an alternative change to MMD rule, NO!
I have no problem with PF if management of the party changes. I am confortable with MMD now because SATA and Chiluba are not the players in the party.

  48. 63.Fine!

You are at it again, you have somehow devauged the truth correctly by saying strides
made in a systems are as a result of who is leading, right?! if that is the case then Sata does fit the blame profile of MMD’s failures but Chiluba…because he was a Minister and the latter the PRESIDENT!!! Blame SATA, in his capacity as Minister and I am sure you will fall short of blames…because the man can deliver!!! VIVA PF!!!

  49. The whole nation is in for a high jump.We needed a change of government be rest assured that RB has no back bone. This is just a circus. Am sure he is being controlled like a remote for tv.LETS TIGHTEN OUR BELTS.PEOPLE ARE TALKING ROADS WHEN BASICS LIKE JIK,GLOVES AND NAVEL PEGS CANNOT BE FOUND TO HELP A PREGNANT MOTHER GIVE BIRTH.I HEAR NOW THAT INFACT THE PATIENT HAS TO GO WITH THE PLASTIC MAT FOR THE NURSES TO HELP HER DELIVER.THE COUNTRY HAS GONE TO THE DOGS.

  50. 66 Fine
U say sata mismangd the country for 10 yrz..bt ur the same person supportin the 17 yrz of MMD..nw wich is wich banee..b remindd tht MMD reachd a point thy stopd functioning, and PF is the best alternative ryt nw..ur party has js gne rotten nw..

  51. LT, firstly thank you for doing your best in providing information, particularly for us in the diaspora. However, i find it inconceivable that you have allowed thugs and generally other retards to hijack your site. Its not unusual to find silly posts such as “nambala one”, not to mention swear words. You must find a way of filtering these posts which are not only ambarassment to your site but to the nation as a whole. Surely the quality (or lack thereof) of these posts cannot be a reflection of the average Zambian’s intellectual level?…

  52. Mr The Spectator!!
We are both for the development of this country. What we differ about is the question of who is likely do the job of leading this nation to achieve our apsirations. All our parties in this country have good policies, in fact they differ only slightly but same in most respects.
What differs greately is the leadership; and that ia what matters most. In america, you will not hear manyb people complaing about parties but mostly about individuals. that is why you hear, bush admin, clinton admin, Obama admin, etc. this because they know that the parties have good policies but what messes things are the people at the helm.

  53. you my Friend FINE! that is why I am throwing in a bit information here and there so that you know that my arguments are on merit not emotional, like when you look at the lack of transparency by RB within 2 months he had mismanaged Billions of Kwachas….

  54. #4. i ve got better things to do other than surfinn the net all day and waiting for Lt to post a topic. looks like you are a grade 12 Failure who ve got absolutely nothing to do apart from poking your nose in other people’s business. get a life!

  55. #68. The Spectator!!
It is simple logic, yes Chiluba was the one leading and ideally Chiluba should have taken the blame, but SATA approved Chiluba’s leadership. Sata was satisfied with chiluba’s governance and he was ready to do anything to make Chiluba continue. This is where SATA takes the blame, his approval of Chiluba’s rule tells me that they have the same style of leadership. He saw nothing wrong with chiluba that is which he faught forn Chiluba’s third term.

  56. Fine!

I am not speaking from without you see poor governance stifles and impedes development. In a country like Zambia where there is corruption, poor control of public funds, lack of accountability, abuses of human rights etc, development inevitably suffers. The RB government has totally shown the lack of transparency, you don’t need to be a student of Politics or Economics to understand what RB has done in the past 2 months and how he is likely to plunge this Nation into total disarray if he goes unchecked and unopposed with his charlatans…

  57. 75. Fine!

So is that the reason you hate SATA, by the fact that he had to work with his boss rather be antagonistic to him…SATA, yes has made some wrong moves just like anybody else…even the so called PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA has errored at one point, but should that error be yardstick?! I think that is unfair if you ask me…

  58. #71 maybe the posts do reflect the intellectual level of the average zambian. This is how zambians talk uncensored. From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.Perhaps us as zambians have to search our hearts. Its not a delightful thing to look in a mirror and see how ugly one is.Maybe we are tribalist, can’t talk on a blog without insulting other peoples intelligence, rush to be number 1 to comment on newly published stories, vote MMD despite deplorable standards of living, oops now i’ve got carried away but you get my point eh?

  59. #73. The Spectator!!
You seem to lose me in your lpgic when you tell me that SATA can make alternative just because his party is not called MMD. It is not about what name you call your party, but you character. I cannot approve of Obama if I do not believe that what Obama is doing is correct. In the Same way I dont expect SATA to approve of Chiluba if he did not believe in what chiluba was doing. SATA believed that the Chiluba way was the best way, therefore according to him Chiluba needed to continue because he felt Chiluba was doing a good job. Now, how do you expect SATA, after approving Chluba’s style, to do things different from Chiluba. To me, your logic is a bit shy on this one.

  60. #77. The Spectator!!
You see, I dont accuse you of hating RB, so i wonder why you think I should hate SATA; I dont hate him. But what I can tell you is that I would not like him to be president of Zambia, because of the dangers I see in his leadership style. If you stop your child from carrying glassy cups because you want to avoid them breaking, can I accuse you of hating your children? Of course I expect a simple NO! because you dont hate them, you simply dont want to lose the glasses. this is that same with me regarding SATA running this nation. I dont want him to break it. But as a man I love SATA, in fact I alwas listen to his conferences and interviews bcoz he is very intertaining.

  61. # 63 Ba Fine just knock off and stop abusing other people’s computers. Are you so blind that you can’t see what has been happening in Zambaia or are you in the diaspora.
For how long are these politicians going to preach about poverty reduction and all sorts of promises. Sound minded person can not vote for the MMD, that is why they just being voted by rural people who doesn’t bother whether they have got roadsor not, provided they get fitenges during campaigns n sugar from ba sugar dad. Rural area will not be developed in anyway because they know that literacylevels will increase and poeple will no longer vote for them.

  62. Oh spectator and Fine i luv the analysis…
Please help Spectator the imporatance of character. any one who comes into public office must go under strict scrutiny… Given that all are evil doers, our job is to choose the lesser evil..

  63. In zambia we dont seem to take politics seriously.People just wake up in the morning and make an endorsement.Let parties have systems, structures and constitutions which will not make individuals above the party.

  64. I attended a school who motto was ” let us all by our deeds be judged” That i why we look at the past to predict the future…. everyone can say anything in politics but you have to marry what they have said and done in the past with what they are claiming now…

  65. Choma 1 i agree with you. It seems easier though for most to just start there own party. It we’ll be health if the parties on the scene continue… the trouble is most of these parties are personality cults. if one person dies then the party dissapears. lets see how PF does, Levy and Mazoka died and we’ve seen the outcome… let the big man resign and lets see how the party performs – Just for the record i still want the Sata alive

  66. For a better future guys . Lets go behind the young HH.
VIVA HH. i guarantee you the young man we’ll deliver… and doing two elections and running a political party is enough experience… Lets go for the best ain guys.

  67. PF wil cntnue even wth Sata nt around..reason..we shal nt take the UPND path of sucesion, the party constitution wil dictate the way forward..sum blogaz here ar unda MMD payrol,so they wil do everytin to make pipo c sense in their fathaz affiliates,as 4 us in Pf we stand 4 the majority..no wanda we aqe the most sucesful opposition party in zed..POWA TO THE PIPO…

  68. UPND had elections. With national wide representation… yes two people who are nolonger in the party made rascist remarks but pipo voted…. PF from 2001 has never had elections… no structure that is followed. Its all in one persons heard.

  69. The party was founded by SATA, the manifesto is in SATA’s head, the team is handpicked by Sata , no elections or conversion. The party spins around one person. You guys need a structure that is firm… when the big man seizes to be vocal and entertaining , the party we’ll fold…

  70. Wth their elections-UPND hu dosent knw wat traspird there,no wanda thy js got 3 hundred pin votes wth their so called ‘Obama of Zed’..aceptin ur pitfals wil make u stronga bt wth ths atitude,in 2011 u wil hav 150 pin votes..

  71. Sata’s disregard for the law and love for power is very evident and must be checked. In MMD he championed the third term and ensured the two term limit in the party constitution was amended. In his PF Sata does not see the need to have elections to elect leaders eight years after it was formed. At national level Sata feels the NCC is a waste of resources. is this the man we want to rule us? what can he do with the presidential powers?

  72. # 23 No Kaunda pulled it off without being in power before. why are you such haters!!! the guy leads the third biggest and consistent party. he has lead successful boards in various industries in Zambia, the guy knows what the country needs to develop… on top of that he knows how to run organisations effecttively and efficiently….
He has what it takes… what is he going to learn in parliament… how to say hia hia??? come on get real and stop hating!!!

  73. As govt we dedicate our efforts in areas where we arent popular so that we win favour. why panic abt N.western province when we know we will get their vote even in 2011?? N. Western forget for now…we are busy in CB, LSK, LP, Southern & Northern provinces

  74. If leadership reflects society can we as Zambians proudly say that ba shi Chilufya is a representation of zambian ideals and aspirations? Sata did not campaign on issues rather he hoped to mesmerize people with kaponya mentality on a scale never seen before, that is why at his rallies the main feature was a boat playing around. He hoped that zambians would focus their eyes on the entertainment but thank God we still have people who know what it means to focus on the ball. It does not require much discernment to know that Sata is a shameful relic from our past. What we need going forward is vision, clarity of purpose, integrity, well articulated policies & inpirational leadership. L’sali teni

  75. # 96 lay your claim on the ground.

Even SATA didnt get it ryt the first two times. People need to hear your name more often to remember you. The guy is known by more people now than he was at first. and yes we’ll learn from the mistakes… 2011 we’ll be better believe me!!!

  76. We are nt interestd in hs boardroom achievements ryt nw.we want hm to learn polithcs..then mayb he may…if busines sucess was the criteria,Bill Gates wud hav bn US presidnt by nw…

  77. 101
If he is beta knwn, then why the deteriorating performance?ur fighting a losing battle…u hav failed to leave up to the Mazoka powa, find antha candidate..

  78. #100 walasa! tell them. the man took his eyes off the ball. what issues did he focus on if i may ask? ‘more money in your pockets.’ how? he thought one marathon run in western, another one week in Northwestern another in Eastern and Southern would give him the presidency? bushe efyo bawina bola ifyo?

  79. Let us give Rupiya Banda chance to work and avoid hero worshipping.Imagine if we all became hero worshippers?Lets guard our country against such people, they are a threat to national security. As for now they shud say that a personal holding such a post should become an acting….in case of…..and not proposing a a particular name becoming ……

  80. #74 Baby C what have I done to deserve all these attacks from you.Lets not fight, but unite we are Zambian full of peace and harmony. For your own Info Iam a student doing Bachelors of commerce specialising in accounting at UKZN(university of Kwazulu Natal).Of couse you have better things to do may be more than what Iam doing, but respect has nothing to do with those things.I will respect you for who you are not what you have or do.Thank you.I you still feel offended attack me through my email address not pa public tuleimweneshamofye,we are adults.God bless you.

  81. Pankolokoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
    Pankolokoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
    Pankolooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Pankolooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Pankolokoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  82. #106 absolutely right. Remember he was the last to leave UNIP in 1991. He gave 17 reasons why people must not ditch UNIP.
In 2000/1 remember the third term issue, he fired all potential presidential candidates because he wanted to succed Chiluba. Thats why people of N/W province are wise they not be cheated by those people in a sinking boat. Central province, Western and Eastern will also not vote for him in 2011.[This man is Sata].

  83. have you heard RB is going to meet the Litunga tomorrow! my guess is that he is going to tell him that he has chosen a lozi for a VP and therefore would like to have his endorsement..

  84. #104 I had to go out a bit. But am not here long. There are a lot of pipo who are pro HH that voted RB because the thot of having sata as president was depresing. in there reasoning they thot the ruling party had a better chance of bittin sata. i can assure you that most of the HH supporters would vote RB if there was a re- run( 50+1 situation)in 2011 UPND we’ll be stronger and SATA wont be there. if RB decides to stand again then that we’ll be the end.

  85. #108, Matworld(Faimat), if you have time try to find the first Zambian to have gone to antarctica R. Musumpuka at the Physics Department, West Ville Campus, the UKZN.

Be blessed and have a good day.

  86. Speculations about meeting the litunga and Lozi appointment makes sense. But whats wrong with that? isnt any Zambian entitled to be appointed veep if he qualifies? Anyway i hear the Litunga has powers to Veto? so in all this two names or three must come to mind.
Akashambatwa or Sakwiba Sikota and that Lungwangwa guy but i doubt.

  87. #144-GOODEVENING.
MY HUMBLE COMMENT FOR MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS FROM NORTH WESTERN IS THAT—DEAR FRIENDS THERE IS NOTHING TO BE HAPPY ABOUT,OUR COUNTRY IS IN TROUBLE,HOW MANY MEALS CAN YOU AFFORD IN A DAY?I MEAN GOOD MEALS-NOT THAT RELISH WITHOUT COOKING OIL….YOU MAY BE FINE BUT IS EVERYONE FINE.MIND YOU I’AM NOT AFFILIATED TO ANY POLITICAL PARTY BUT LET US FACE REALITY.LONG LIVE ZAMBIA AND GOD BLESS YOU.

  88. 116. Wewewe iwe dont just say that Lungwangwa guy ,thats where we go wrong, the man is a prof no jealousu and no hinderance

  89. We get affected by different things. people in villages get affected by floods and some of the people in towns? global food crisis!

  90. #121 whats ur problem? as for now just support the President of the da RB,the man is working so wewewe dont worry urself.you are not the appointing authority.

  91. Tentamashimba and the Northwestern Province have done a lot for President RB Banda to be Zambian President and so I will not be suprised if he becomes Zed Veep.
This is similar to how President RB Banda came in as Zed Veep when Eastern Province helped in giving late Mwanawasa the Presidency after the MMD panicked when Chief Mpezeni said “namukonda” for Zambian Presidency to president Hakainde Hichilema. Otherwise, I doubt if Saki can be installed as Zed Veep considering that he is far from MMD ranks.
Keep in mind that Tentamashimba made sure then Veep Banda becomes Zed President to keep the MMD and possibly Zed Republican Presidency remains open to everyone in the MMD for the 2011 elections.

  92. #122, Gridlock, I suspect I have contact details of him somewhere. Send me email on [email protected] and I will try to get you Remmy’s address. I AM VERY sure that he is at the UKZN in south Africa though. My names are Mugungulu H. Mwaanga.

  93. Choma one you misunderstood my question. somebody said RB was going to consult the litunga on the appointment of Veep and our question is so what? so what are you responding to? muletekanya yama!

  94. 124. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe .Zambian politics has lost direction.Where was Nevers Mumba when he was appointed vice presido?124.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe u did alot for hh and i would not have been surprised if u were …. its a pitty you went for a reject and political misfit.Saki has the energy to be veep and we in livingstone brought down hh.

  95. 128
True,we seem to hav suprises 4 vp.i wudnt b shockd if al these names being floatd here are by-passed 4 an unknown…its lyk a game of cards…

  96. #128, flag Choma1, nice comments but be careful for we (me and president Hakainde Hichilema or anyone the mighty UPND will sponsor then) will appeal again, by God’s grace, and see what you will achieve in 2011. I will however beg to differ on your sentiments that president HH is a reject. Many people just got alarmed at the Kanchibiya MP by-election and the current Sata’s mouthpiece, Sata’s imagebuilders The POST’s opinion polls which put Sata at about 46% favourite position to win the Zambian Presidency. With this in mind, many well-meaning Zambain citizens opted to vote for President RB Banda to make sure Sata became a ZAMBIAN-POLITICS-EXCLUDE and reserve Sir Hakainde Hichilema for 2011

  97. Its ok Choma 1. I think Saki delivered livingstone and i dont think he is a bad idea apart from the politics. He is a knowledgeable and accomplished lawyer. He would put alot of people’s hearts at peace when it relates to issues of human rights violation and abuse of office. I think. ( just thinking aloud) it may not be him after all.

  98. Choma 1 am not bemba so i didnt mean to impose it on anyone just that i like using the languages that are not my mother tongue for fun…

  99. 132.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe just tell me in which city you are I can pay you a weekend on these fine coming day n we get to talk yebo hachilongwe and i know you mean better for zambia.People used to think that zambian politics depends on bembas or on the copperbelt but things have changed individuals will count.

  100. #134, Wewewe, great contribtuion but what about Saki’s involvement in ICASA or whatever 1998 that was held in lusaka if I am not mistaken about the year?

I also think that Tentamashimba has worked hard to just be dumped by President RB Banda at this stage. So installing Saki as Veep will serious jeopardise Tenta’s plans for 2011 MMD hopefuls.

Anyhow, President RB Banda has the last say on all issues now for he case has been done for now.

  101. 135.Wewewe I am feeling you man.its just people are trying to tribalise the site but in tribilism people will always be at loss.We are all hoping for the best for our country and lets share ideas

  102. #137 i agree with you i also remember the ICASA saga and there is something around the Gabon families? well but given to choose between Teta and Saki many would go for Saki he is more credible and less annoying. Teta talks too much. but again it may not be him assuming people’s gossip about consulting the litunga is true. There is Milupi, there is Aka there is lungwangwa. And away from the west there is Bwalya Chiti and there is Kabinga Pande in Northwestern. dont rule out these guys.

  103. #136, Choma1, thanks very much hachilongwe for the offer but it appears like like my contribution to Zambian politics is now coming to a brief end and may be for good. All I wanted was to make sure that Sata does not become Zambian President and this has been achieved. The rest will be taken care of by the NCC in which learned people there will put a clause to block all people who have not reached grade 12 to stand for Zambian Presidency – a thing I hope will be in force by 2011 election time.Otherwise, drop me a mail at [email protected] and let us see if we can meet.My calling is on the Holy Bible side of things and until I get clarity on my possible involvement in politics, this is it.

  104. 137. Maestro Hhehhehhehhe hero worshipping, you began with mazoka to hh and now tenta.so many people campaigned in NW province and there are so many factors there.Dont tell me that tenta created the mines in NW.This is a problem we have, some tribes they want to have gods in place of God

  105. Guys much as saki may be a gud lawyer and al..politicaly he is lost,he dosent stand ground 4 lng before jumpin to antha party, and such are signals of one’s decision makin skills, imagine hm as vp,wat advise wil he gve,if he cnt even stand 4 hs political ideology for 5 yearz.

  106. Saki is cool.He wont embarass Zambia and he is strong politically.saki is above tribal ,Imagine him defeating that tribal grouping in the name of upnd in sp.140.Maestro Hhehhehhehhe yeah you are right, you are behind school schedule and you have to put your house in order

  107. #139, Wewewe, I see. I would actually be happy if Milupi takes it up. I believe Milupi is well educated as an Engineer with a masters degree, I think. This would be a right choice for we would have an economic at the top and an engineer next to him. All that will be remaining is to find a Physicist (like me) – of which Dr Habatwa V. Mweene could do as number 3 in line. Dr Habatwa V. Mweene is young too having only finished his undergrad at UNZA in about 1982 or so and obtained the best undergraduate distinction degree (39 points out of 40 total in Physics under NS) the UNZA has ever offered since UNZA’s inception in 1966. This combination would certainly move Zambia. Let us wait and see.

  108. Mopani copper mine to retrench workers this this monthend in Mufurila (that is Mufurila mine will be closed) and if copper prices don’t improve, the next plant to be closed is central shaft in Kitwe. If the situation does not improve, SOB plant is the next.

  109. #146 continued.
… I will maintain that I do not hero worship. President Hakainde Hichilema is just the best we have right now an it is a pity that Zambians especially those of Northern regions do not understand this simple fact. On late Mazoka, I never supported him like HH and I still have my 2001 voter’s card to show you and all my skeptics that I did not vote for Mazoka or anyother. I was considering voting for Inonge Mbikusita Lewanika then but just to prove later to you and others that I did not vote for Mazoka and knowing that Inonge would lose anywat, I kept my voter’s card intact. On Tentamashimba, I believe he is the one who talked about choosing someone to replace late LPM.

  110. ati ng’andu peter magande tendered his resignation but apparently rbb has not responded to it. it appears as if he just wants to leave him out of the cabinet so that it looks like he has not been given a cabinet position. RELIABLE SOURCES.

  111. U knw as u blog here…neva neva discriminate pipo based on education, race, tribe, physical disability o anythng, coz pipo are al difrent and wil cntribute purposefuly in tht way..

  112. #14 continued.
Later after late LP Mwanawasa died, Tentamashimba brought in the issue of supporting President RB Banda for Zambian President if I am not mistaken. By the way,I was in Zed then for a short recess.
So, cool down choma1 and just write me email so we can meet some day. have a blessed day though and regards to yur fa,ily if they are with you.
By the way, I am for Milupa in MMD. Milupi is a LOZI and part owner of Copperbelt Energy Corporation if he has not sold his shares there and also if that company is still operating. So, I like successful men and women both educationally and in business. A good example is president HH especially on seeing the might UPND’s manifesto – the best.

  113. #149 and 151, Gridlock, I hear you, but I tell you that I am serious on Micheal Chilufya Sata not only because of his level of education but because Sata was with Chiluba all the way until Chiluba handpicked late Mwanawasa for presidential candidate in 2001. As long as Sata does not allow PF to have a convention and also does not show understanding of the Zambian Republican Constitution, eg he said whoever wins this election has the right to rule until 2013, I will never endorse MC Sata for Zambian Presidency. However, if if if Sata ever wins, it wont hurt because Sata is a human being. What I want Sata to do now is to register for Grade 7, 9 and later 12 exams so that he can learn also.

  114. “UPND denies media reports
The UPND has dispelled media reports suggesting that the party is pondering on an electoral pact with the Patriotic Front (PF).Party Secretary General, Tiens Kahenya, said in a statement to ZNBC that his party is not contemplating entering into a pact with any political party.Mr. Kkahenya said UPND is currently conducting a post mortem of the last presidential election. He said the party is also focusing on the 2011 tripartite elections.Mr. Kahenya however, said his party will always remain committed to genuine proposals for alliances.” Source: w w w . z nbc . c o . z m / media / news / viewnews . c g i ? c a t e go r y = 8 & i d = 1226342342

  115. “And Mr. Kahenya has advised the Patriotic Front to stop commenting on the failed pact between the two parties. He was reacting to sentiments by PF Publicity and Information Secretary, Given Lubinda over the failed pact before the just ended elections. And UPND Secretary for Information and Publicity, Charles Kakoma has advised Mr. Lubinda to be mindful of what he says about other parties. He maintains that Mr. Sata walked out of the pact meeting, because he believed he had confidence that he would win the election.” Source: w w w . muvitv . com /news / Nov2008 / 10thpnews1 . h t m l
The UPND men are speaking now. Zambians, we are not poor thus YES we all can prove this with president HH.

  116. The problem we have in Zambia is politics of tribe. If Obama was standing in Zambia presidential elections we could have started by asking what tribe he was. That is how petty we are and that is what makes us poor. “I will vote for that one because nibayama or he is my tribesman”. We forget that poverty doesnt know tribe. Whether we like it or not this is an era for educated people to take over leadership. Just imagine if Sata had won the elction and was to meet Obama, what would they discuss and what language would they use. Powerful countries are voting for young leadership but us we stuck with bayama or ba mbuya. Even God’s blessings can’t come to such a poeple.

  117. 156Maestro Hhehhehhehhe expect a mail from me,i got ur address,it was really great, you kept us moving. We ill definately meet and thar night hachilongwe we ill talk coz not only are we not looking for the best for our country but i am part of those that mastered the tonga people by their faces ant not by their h ok names

  118. #162 you are avoiding my issues. I did not say that HH is Obama. What am saying is that in our country tribe overides other important issues. Secondly you mentality of thinking that what American achieves is something beyond Zambia is the problem I am pointing out. If you dream small your reward is small and if you dream big your reward is big. Americans know their biggest problem is their battered image abroad hence the election of Obama. In Zambia our problem is poor economy but we think the solution lies in tribe and old leadership. In our life time we have seen Putin change the economy of Rassia. The Zambain economy can be improved.

  119. 163 chris not Ecomnomy, its illiteracy boss.Kaunda is to blame. I dont know why that man hated zambians and loved the neighbouring countries.yes he made a name for himself but where are we as zambians?the poorest in the region

  120. 163 chris just at faz having havin hanif was an issue,Dont dare compare America with that place.Even on their money its written in God we trust. We can only learn from America as for now.

  121. #164 now am on the same wave length with you, discussing issues. If you recognise illiteracy as a problem then we need to pick a person who can resolve this problem. Get me clearly, this person COULD be HH, Bwalya Chiti , Felix Mutati, Caleb Fundanga but it CERTAINLY won’t be Sata or Ruphia Banda. Sata has had a “successfull” life and he thinks his level of education is adquate to attain that success. The world is now very competative and without education you can not develop a country. Lastly I will insist that in Zambia tribe drives everything and that is why we make decisions that only tribal countries can make.

  122. #166Chris you are a right in one way or the other.I conquer with you to some extent but some face you have mentioned is a political misfit and if not properly handled it can cause a miserable volience in Zambia.Dont worry with Sata and forget about the so learned people .REMEMBER CHRISS I NEVER SAID EDUCATED OR LEARNED BUT I SAID LITERANCY.The so called educated people have failed of late and lets have a united Zambia regardless of education qualification.

  123. #167 I agree with you that we need a united Zambia, but how do we achieve it? Do we leave it to old or young people? It is just my personal observation that at the moment education is not a subsitute. The people that I gave as examples may not be the best but my point is that we need to shift to young educated people for leadership. This fit will not come by itself unless those of us who have been exposed to education and its benefits can start talking about it. In USA it was the young people who embraced Obama and went home to convince their racial parents that they had nothing to fear about Obama presidency. We can do the same in Zambia

  124. It’s only UPND that can develop N/West, those roads will be tarred. We have alread stated to appreciate our pipo by donating an ambulance to Nangoma of central province. Soon w are moving to N/West.

  125. There is no good reason for thinking of erecting a PONTOON and yet we have qualified Civil Engineers in the country who can come up with designs for bridges. Also I am sure we have local Civil Engineering companies that can erect bridges. Let us use our local talent and stop acting dull like people without education. Shame upon you chaps in decision making who subscribe to erecting PONTOONS. As Zambians we should not submit to PONTOONS.

  126. #168.Chris great contribution.Yes zambia needs some kind of revolution.Zambians are known to have brains and talent but in implementation we tend to lack. You are right chriss but now how do we implement and when?

  127. N-western a let down.Change yes we can:If u watch regional politics u will realise that Zambia no longer counts at Regional level when we use to be the Regional Superpower liberating countries like RSA,ngola, Namibia, Mozambique, and many others;Change yes we can;We use to manager to feed ourself, whenever there was a continental meeting nations wanted to hear what Zambia would say;change ys we can and learn if as Zambians at whatever levels wedo not respect each other, no nation we respect us as a country. This why those who have been put into positions need at whatever be reminded to respect the commonman of the street.

    God bless Zambia

    I thank you

  128. Someone who thinks properlly should nt blame N/W for voting RB.You carders want them to support your candidate who has no regards for them. He thinks he can do without them and they have also taken that route so watch out.
