CEEF funds unutilized in Chavuma

Share

Funds under the Citizens Economic and Empowerment Fund (CEEF) in Chavuma district are lying idle at the Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO) in Solwezi because people in Chavuma cannot access the required forms.

Chavuma District Commissioner (DC) Frobisher Fulayi confirmed the development in an interview with ZANIS in Chavuma today.

Mr. Fulayi said the district received funds for programmes under economic empowerment but the funds are still lying idle in the bank because Chavuma district does not have a commercial bank from which the forms can be accessed..

He said the CEEF guidelines require people to access the funds through a commercial bank.

Mr. Fulayi, who is also the Chavuma Citizens Economic and Empowerment Fund Committee Chairperson, said the people are eager to kick-start their investment projects but lack of a financial institution from which to access forms has proved to be a draw back.

He proposed that forms be made available at the Office of the District Commissioner (DCs) so that more people can access the forms in places where they are no commercial banks.

Government released funds under the auspices of the CEEF to districts across the country.

  1. This chap is strange. Isn’t he the one who was quoted when a young boy had his legs amputated/blasted by a landmine? I no wonder he was saying there is enough food in his district. All he was thinking of was money in the bank laying idle

  2. Please, make the forms available so people can start their businesses and feed themselves, pay taxes and contribute to the Zambian economy.

  3. Just what has gone wrong with baka lubale kanshi? kalubale songola meno kalubale songola meno, lelo, muli mudoti munansaka RB ati mphuno azamipasa vo kudya, muza chiona manje.

  4. No. 5 Che Guevara grow up man, times are changing. Chavuma, its more economical dealing with Angola (Luena) than Zambia (Solwezi). Zambia will never stop amazing me, just look at the progress the Great Country of Angola is making because of its seriousness to its Citizens. People in Chavuma will never stop having dual citizenship.
You can insult them if you want but they are much more organised than you.

  5. #6 Black mans Child, well look at this situation, an innocent boy loses his leg all in the name of hunger driven hunting while CEE Funds are locked up somewhere in Chavuma. For how long shall we live expecting good from the govt we institute? Why shud the dream live on instead of waking up to reality? Just see how suddenly all those areas which were visited by politicians and donations were made have turned out to be hunger stricken areas. Chadiza is not spared, Gweembe is not spared, Chief Mumenas area is not spared yet they are bragging that they voted the right person. Let this person deliver them coz they voted on expectations of the fulfillment of the promises made by RB and coy
