Muteteka faces an insubordination charge – Teta

Share

MMD Chisamba member of Parliament (MP) Moses Muteteka faces an insubordination charge over his ill remarks  alleging that President Rupiah Banda’s admission that Zambia is facing problems is a sign of leadership failure as published in one of the daily tabloids.

Briefing journalists in Lusaka yesterday, MMD Spokesperson Benny Tetamanshimba said MMD National Chairman Michael Mabenga has with immediate effect directed MMD National Secretary Dr. Katele Kalumba to charge the Chisamba MP and ordinary member of the party, Moses Muteteka for under-mining the party communication channels.

According to Mr. Tetamanshimba, MMD National Chairman and Acting Party President Michael Mabenga has further directed MMD Deputy National Chairman Kabinga Pande to call a Committee to look at the charge letter and report to the National Executive Committee (NEC), the highest organ of the MMD party.

Mr. Tetamanshimba stated that Mr. Mabenga not taken kindly the sentiments of Mr. Muteteka because the MP is fully aware of a forum through which he can express his feelings on the governance of the MMD party.

He said Mr. Muteteka should have expressed his feeling through the MMD caucus meeting where political issues are discussed as well as the parliamentary Liaison Committee with the Head of State emphasizing that President Rupiah Banda was duly elected and voted for by the Zambian people to lead this country, Zambia.

Mr. Muteteka is quoted as having said that leaders are there to create hope, confidence and trust to the citizens because the Zambians  are waiting for solutions from the government of the day to solve the country’s problems.

  1. why is it that all the time whenever a person expresses their opinion in mmd – everyone goes haywire? as a leader its true that you need to be positive – giving hope and confidence – how do you expect the masses to behave when the top leader fears for the worst?

  2. What is wrong with Teta? He thinks he is everything in this country. this man should be sorted out because i think he is gone too far. [-x

  3. teta ni opportunist bad – he loves to listen to himself blubber – when are we going to have politicians agree to the truth maybe mu 2020 otherwise everything is viewed negatively – shame.

  4. Teta is so dull and a bootlicker. The man is a disgrace to our country and is fit to be a District Commissioner not a minister.Levy was no dull not make a minister.Muteteka meant well and should be praised for advising Banda to work rather than crying foul.

  5. I know this may sound crazy, but I have to share it with you guys.Yesterday for going to bed I had to spend some time complaining to God about my complicated relationship. So I asked God for an option.Hey He(God) showed me all the bloggers on LT,of course Female bloggers.Hey guys BabyC,Supergal,Sweet Thang,Sarah Jones,Lisa,Norah and Girly Nimbama. Its like when God was creating them He had to Involve Jesus as His chief Engineer, and the Holy Spirit as a Chief architecture.I ended up ukufilwa ukusala.to be contd

  6. ba Teta if there was another name for the backside,it would be u,cause all the nonsense seems to come from u. [-(

  7. Teta is a boot liker who would say anything to protect his job. Its true this MMD government is not giving any hope imagine they are already affected by the global financial crisis what if the real situation comes down to us? Shame. Let people express their own opinion which everyone is entitled to.

  8. :-?Rupiah’s leadership is failing – muteteka
President Rupiah Banda’s admission that Zambia is facing problems is a sign of failure of his leadership, Chisamba MMD member of parliament Moses Muteteka observed yesterday. They should give us hope and should not be the ones crying before the people start crying. What will happening if the people start crying?” Muteteka asked.
“There will be disaster. So they should not indicate elements of failure, they must be seen fighting for that cause which put them there. I want to speak independently; leaders are there to create hope, confidence and trust to the minds of citizens. Zambians are looking up to the leaders for solutions. 😮

  9. Muteteka challenged President Banda and his Cabinet to prove themselves instead of crying that they were facing difficulties.
“When Mwanawasa got into power, Anglo-American pulled out of the country. There was an issue of HIPC completion point, hunger, GMO but he [Mwanawasa] worked so hard to bring life out of that kind of disaster,” Muteteka said. “These mines they are talking about were closed. Ramcoz, you can name them. But he re-opened them and created more mines. He did not cry but he worked hard. So if someone says we have so many problems, which problems are they talking about compared to the problems that Mwanawasa found?” Muteteka asked. =d>

  10. Forum through which he can express his feelings do not work, the party has no President, no Veep and all who in influential positions in the party are no where in Countries leadership. Teta should just admit that RB is not capable of leading both the party and the nation. What happen to Teta when he spoke about a new president before LPM died is that case over? The MMD called for his blood for putting across a painful fact in the media. Muteteka has done the same; this same Teta is calling for Muteteka’s blood. People who are rough on other people’s skin want to be tender on theirs. Muteteka’s right RB should not be a cry baby.[-x [-x

  11. For once guys there is sense in what Teta is saying. MMD is an organisation and it is not right for Muteteka echo those sentiments against his leader/boss. If everyone in MMD expresses his/her opinion to the media then their is no descipline in the party and you guys would be loughing off the party. If it was sata who said those words i dont really think teta would have said those words.

Dont just critise to its sake sometimes its importsnt to read between the line. Muteteka made a mistake in some countries he was going ro resign from his position.

  12. What Moses said yesterday made a lot of sense and for talking sense, the guy will be canned. Am I surprised? No, I expected this. Teta, now that he is a full cabinet minister will try and strangle everybody and anybody who does not speak the same language as him

  13. Teta seems to be getting away with his utterances and when you sit down and think about it, he does not reprensent himself in his utterances, instead he represents some higher force, so i guess we may as well stop condemning him. He speaks on behalf of RB and his croonies. I think if he didnt have the support of RB, he would not be so outspoken over everything. I dont remember him being this vocal during Levy’s reign.

  14. I also had a Chance to see my fellow gentelemeni,I tell you Rashid is handsome as if he is one of the angels in heaven,Sony Eric Phiri very handsome chap, the only problem he had tail ya mbeba inthe mouth,Nine Chale naba Chewe Hey the guys are handsome as if they are Jesus’brothers,Pumpy naba Moze are very beau…oh sorry handsome,if you are not careful you might think ni nkece.Father Christmas This guy is handsome he looks like all the pictures of Jesus.Unfortunately I didnt see myself. This was a vision in form of a dream.Good day guys.

  15. “According to Mr. Tetamanshimba, MMD National Chairman and Acting Party President Michael Mabenga has further directed MMD Deputy National Chairman Kabinga Pande to call a Committee to look at the charge letter and report to the National Executive Committee (NEC), the highest organ of the MMD party.”

I think we should not only condemn Teta, we should also condemn the person who sent him to deliver the message to the media, who happens to be Mabenga. I am surprised no blogger has mentioned or condemned Mabenga.

  16. Matworld-Nice guy!, You are very funy my bro. Today i want to propose Sarah Jones, so remove her on the list and remember that Baby C has alot of market therefore you need to work hard. I feel sorry for Muteteka, but anyway what do expect from people like Teta?

  17. Leave him alone, the man knows what he is talking about because he has seen what is happening in his party. He knows the policies these guys are making and knows they are not going to work.

  18. Matworld you are right my bro, last night MR Sata was on Muvi Tv’s Matter at hand and the man has ideas. The country would not be where it is today had he won the October presidential elections, i can assure you that.

  19. How come Mutetekas case is rushed while Tetas case is still miles away from the MMD NEC? Just becoz he is an LPM sympathizer? we are watching mwee

  20. TETA MAFWENKE,your time will come soon..jst wait..u will be reduced to nothing..u are nt the first one to think u onw zed, balesa kabili futi balaya,be careful..the people of zambia are watching u.muteteka is rite and we all know th@ things are nt ok pa zed.

  21. I have decided with immediate effect to denounce this govt,it is not my govt, but I will remain a proud Zedian.Father Chrismas travel well bro, please extened my condolences to your relatives pa ZED.

  22. Muteteka is just a bitter man coz he is part of the Levy family tree which is not getting the priviledges as they were getting when Levy was rulling. He cant handle the sidelines. Its as simple as that!

  23. If this was a test in school setting, Teta will get a 0%. Muteteka 85% and michel mabenga 12%.

Marked and complete! Why is it some people are so bent to seing things in wrong way??. Even plain facts, you have to screw them some how??.

  24. #49. Ordinary MP where? He should be dealt with accordingly, even in a home children do not stand on the mountain top and denounce their parents with impunity!

  25. Had it not been for the late Mazoka introdcing him to politics Teta would have been looking after cattle in the village

  26. #57. Am not bringing in LPM in vain. Am just driving to the point that Muteteka is just not happy because he did not get an appointment in Government, had he been appointed, he would not have criticised RB shamelessly in that manner. Why didnt he air his views inside the Party? Why rush to the press as if his agenda was to embarass RB?

  27. Teta needs somebody who will put him in his place but apparently, there dosen’t seem to be one just now. Teta is just like that grown man with a ka-childish voice, Chibombamilimo.

  28. Father Christmas, condolences. Atleast you will come and see for yourself the problems that your friends are going through here in Zed. Its terrible my brother

  29. Freedom of speech is no longer granted by citizens. The man is talking his mind. The have failed to charge Teta for various utterances why him? just because he is ordinary member. [-x:-@^:)^**==

  30. Father Christmas, my condolences to you and your family, but while pa Zed, nga bapwalala ukabateke and make us bloggers your cabinet so we can show them how it should be done. Safe trip, we will miss you.

  31. Teta should know that not everyone is a bootlicker like him. Mr.Moses has obviously seen something wrong in RBs style of leadership and he openly castigated him.

  32. :d:)):d:))=))=d> If the American President as young as he is, he is willing to tackle the world economic crises. Our very own RB as old as he is, he is scared to lead Zambia.:)):)):)) No wounder the man withdrew from hosting the all Africa Games.

  33. Teta with his red mouth and old fashioned red shoes should just shut the hell up. He has failed to clean Lusaka. Viva Silvia. Teta is no comparison to anyone anyway. 😮

  34. Cont 68. Sorry Ladies and Gentlemen, I couldn’t help it. I should have started by greeting my fellow bloggers. Greetings to Father Christmas, Matworld-Nice guy, The Zed Parrot, CHE GUEVARA, Baby C, Rashid Jones, Bruce Lee and all those I haven’t mentioned.

    Mapoliticians bani sekesa!! :))

  35. Muteteka is a brave man indeed!! RB should work, after all he forced his way to state house, Did he expect it to be a picnic? Don’t waste our time Please we need development!!

  36. Baby C, Greetings pretty one, just thought I n I should make I intensions known coz Matworld is already dreaming about you. but then why not beca you so irie just like me herb. I f yo nah dig Rasta, I n I will still respect mama Africa and all her prencesses. Jah guide

  37. Muteteka is wrong, he does not understand chaneels of communication. Fire the boy, LPM and maureen and not there to protect you. We wont even adopt you in 2011 in Chisamba. You will be replaced by a woman Baby C. Dont abuse the freedom of expression.

  38. # 86 you are spot on. The bloggers here are all blinded by their hate for MMD that they cannot even recognise a wrong for what it is. Muteteka was wrong and he should apologise.

  39. Jah man Dont worry ba Rashid warned me earlier so kuti wasenda Baby C but umutima eko icili.I’ll try Girly and Lusaka.Nomba Ka girly kalemoneka ukushupa.lusaka nizzii.

  40. :(|)Zambian politics are really boring if political parties fail to adhere to the principles of democracy within there parties can we honestly expect them to do so on a national level this is very sad.Whenever someone says the truth in these parties they are expelled.Always happens in MMD and recently in UPND shame shame shame.

  41. IYO KWENA NACHAFYA BA BACY C,MULI NA FIMARKET.MMD THINKS THAT CHALLENGES ARE TO COME FROM THE OPPOSITION ONLY,IT DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT .THAT IS WHY THE MMD IS FINISHED BECAUSE IT DOESNT WANT WANT TO BE CHALLENGED.JUST ACT ON THE CHALLENGES.

  42. All of you green horns on this blogg, if you were President, would you allow your own MP to call you a leadership failure, when he can say so within the Party.
Can’t you see what is going on. Muteteka can not accept that the family tree is gone. He never said any of those things about LPM and there were plenty of things wrong he could have talked.

Muteteka pliz accept that there is a new reality. It is thw will of God. Who Jah bless no one curse!!!!! HE picked RB from the village to shame all those who thought they were ba some of us — That is God.

  43. Imwe ba PF. whenever an MMD member criticises his party, he is right and has the truth. you are busy victimising some MPs and the ejected the former mayor. You hypocrites ! You will never rule this country. god protected us from a dictator like Mugabe. Of course most dictaors have very sweet ongues to hide the hate inside.

  44. No. 112 NKOLE WA MAPEMBWE, you have a point Muteteka has just come to his senses. I wounder if he was going to have the same view had he been in RB’s Cabinet. The family tree is no more, how sad Malume Amuteteka.

  45. The man said it is a sign of failure and not that the man had failed. Some astute lawyer can take this one up and they stand a chance of letting ba Muteteka off the hook. Just that most people always back who ever they stand to benefit from and completely disregard all else.

  46. :)]Hello Muteteka. Are you Moses Muteteka the former Deputy Lands Minister who is married to a niece of LPM’s widow Maureen and was sacked over allegations of illegal allocation of housing plots in march 2007 by the late LPM?You may not gain political mileage on you attack on RB administration because of your political career that is dented with corruption. I like your angle of attack though .It makes sense our leaders should not reach the condition of learned helplessness. We want solutions to our problems so that the welfare of the average Zedian is uplifted and reflected in a higher life expectancy than the current 37 years. But with hunger, cholera and credit crunch, kaya:((

  47. Hey Zed Parrot, let’s take it the guy is reformed. He had the dent ironed out. You can’t tell where the dent is now. The issue at hand is, is it indeed a sign of malaria oh sorry, failure? Kuli the emperor’s new clothes, it took a kid ukupunda ati ba emperor tabafwele. All the adults were full of praises.

  48. President Rupiah Banda was duly elected and voted for by the Zambian people to lead this country, Zambia.
Hey please not me i never voted for RB and will never thats why i never think of returning to zambia.. will come when RB is out of power..why are you starting to charge people who are saying the truth about Band ….weaked minds, no plans uhe has failed and will not manage full stop.

  49. the iraq minister of information teta has spilled worms again. let muteteka talk who told teta that its only his big wide lips that should always be bubbling.
rb truly is failing and has failed. he has even admitted that its not possible to have fertiliser for 50pin.
where is mulongoti is he still sick . i miss his wafflings combined with his friend tenta.
the clibre of rb ‘s ministers leave much to be desired mwandi

  50. #119, You are welcome to vote for a candidate of your choice or not to vote at all. That is our system.

The people voted for RB. You may not like him. Kaunda did not like Chiluba, but people voted and he had to hand over.

By the way, do I take it you always like the leaders they elect where you are or are you one of the shallow people who think the red light districts of Europe are the greatest idea since the wheel was invented.

  51. Bane Dicspline is essential in all organisations political parties alike. Muteteka, may be right but he is out of order. he needs to learn I know he lacks political experience, except for his marrying Maureen’s niece Naomi, that he found himself in Parliament. By the way Ive never heard him debate issues in Parliament. Teta is very right and he shopuld be commended for the good works in party organisation.

  52. Bane, discipline or no discipline, the truth is the truth, the leader should be the last one to shout ‘mutule’. If it were Shakas time, most of our so called leaders could not even be advisers to a chief, they lack balls.

  53. I am trying so hard to support the MMD government but I am despairing. This kind of behaviour from Tetamashimba is typical of Sata’s when he was MMD general secretary. I deplored it then and I will again. Muteteka knows that RB is weak that is why he can do what he has done, but he has the democratic right to say what he wants to say. He even has the right to challenge RB for the leadership post, but what he has no right to do is to destroy the very basis he is in parliament right now, and that is his party’s manifesto. If and only if, RB has gone against the MMD manifesto, a sitting MMD MP should criticise him. For now he either resigns the seat and/or leaves the MMD.

  54. Teta must not think that he is clever than ALL MMD members by suggesting very quickly to have Moses discplined when he is the first in line.He is a disgrace to the people of North western province. Kaondes are not as talkative as Teta.I think employees of his company are in big trouble. If he can behave like this on “national” level then as a “DIRECTOR” of the milling company, employees must brace for the worst.

  55. So MP’S must keep quiet when things are wrong? The fact that moses decided to use this channel means the other ones have been ineffective.MMD should just act and stop waste time responding to critics. critics will always be there and if you dedicate three years fighting back you will not do your job!! what a bunch of simple minded “leaders”
Can any one please find Teta some medicine for diarrhea of the mouth disease?

  56. Zambians you ve a kangaroo govt court because the verdict is always known. The end result is failure in the govt.Let these jackals & bootlickers sort themselves.Mark my words if we shall reach november next year with these trial & error leadership at hand.

  57. As much as Muteteka is right,he erred by openly saying their is a leadership crisis in MMD(if that’s what he said as he disputed that in an interview). Our democracy is still so young that it is almost taboo for a jnr member of the party to come up with such allegations so i expect Muteteka to be expelled from MMD especially coz he is Levy’s nephew(in law).
Muteteka is not a threat to MMD coz he’s just a youngster,he was a small time businessman who found himself with a good opportunity to be in politics when Levy was chosen by Chiluba otherwise he is a nobody & will easily be kicked out of MMD though african leaders must learn to accept constructive criticism.

  58. in bemba they say fumya akali mwiso lyobe elyo winga fumya nakamu nobe ba teta how can u change your friend ur all faceing changes mr muteteka is light rb has faired to rule the country when chiluba come into power they was chorela that was 1992 mwanawasa it was hipc but the all over come the situation.

  59. Leave this MP alone. In a Democracy there is free speech this man is telling the truth. Tetamashimba is a dictator.

  60. Moses is write.let him express his views.he is zeddian and all that freedom of speech.teta is just fighting 4 his job.let him fight.

  61. #117 You are right. Who is moses muteteka to champion the cause for us today when he was fired by his uncle over allegations of corruption. Let Teta talk thats his job as party spokesperson. When Teta and Shakas were in UPND all of you hailed them as think-tanks but now that they crossed over the the ruling party all you do is attack them. It is not wrong for RB to admit that things are bad infact he is being honest. Even Obama admitted that things were bad in America and said that it will take time to re-build the economy,’help is on its way but it will take time to reach’ he said. :)>-:-?

  62. #132, Moses has never been a businessman before. He was just picked by LPM because (in-law) and he used to carry the money bag for LPM. He got his promotion to d/minister community, then d/minister Lands, but due to corrupt practises, he fell out of favour with late LPM.

But on this issues, Moses has every right to his opinion, since he is an MP for a Chibombo and he is usually in his constituency helping he poor people.

Exit All Africa 2011!!! Who is now going to get those buses they bought for All Africa 2011 games? DIANGAMO and company spil the beans please.

  63. This blog is now becoming a circus. No wonder many serious minded people have stopped posting. How can any one surely condone such indiscipline displayed by Muteteka? Party politics are (sic) very straight forward. You cant publicly criticise a President coming from your own party in the name of freedom of ‘whatever it is’! If you have serious misgivings about his leadership, you can seek avenues from within the Party to address your concerns. The alternative would be to resign your party membership altogether. Its not a question of one being right or wrong, but rather party discipline. Kapiert!

  64. Mr Mateteka, I salute you for your courage and boldiness and for issueing that statement based on the truth and facts. Remember prior to the demise of the late LPM HON. Tetamashimba issued a statement and the entire M.M.D blamed him but after sometime people believed what he was saying.
