ambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) in Mufulira district on the Coperbelt Province has kicked off campaign awareness on the Zambia Demographic and Health Survey (ZDHS) for 2007. The long awaited campaigns will take place in the selected wards of the three constituencies of Kantanshi, Kankoyo and Mufulira. Mufulira District Health Information Officer, Damaris Lungu said the district is ready to start the campaigns following the release of funds by the Central Statistical Office. The campaign awareness which commenced today will aim at providing information to the general public on the importance of people's participation in the survey. ZDHS is a nation wide exercise that will be conducted between April and September this year. It will help government to identify existing health problems in communities and also assist in planning for better social services provisions. It will involve collection of blood samples in the selected households in order to test for HIV/AIDS and syphilis. ZANIS
