The Environmental Council of Zambia, ECZ, has approved 12 projects that include the proposed establishment of a 33KV electricity line at Munali Hills Nickel Mine in Mazabuka district. This is in accordance with the Environmental Protection and Pollution Control Act Cap 204 of the Laws of Zambia Regulation 3, 1, of the Environmental Impact Assessment, EIA, Regulations, Statutory Instrument No. 28 of 1997. ECZ Senior Communications Officer, Justin Mukosa, announced this in a statement to ZANIS in Lusaka today. The other approved EIA include for that for the development of of the Mwambashi Copper Deposit in Chingola, Diatomite Mine in Mongu, Katanga Resources Large Scale Prospecting, construction of a Waste Rock Crusher Plant in Kitwe and the Construction of a 33KV Power Line for the Electrification of Zambezi Portland Cement.
