The Community Response to HIV/AIDS (CRAIDS) has funded HIV/AIDS projects in Gwembe District in the Southern Province K350 million.
National United Nations Volunteer for Gwembe district Ricky Mapulangu made the
disclosure to the National Agricultural Information Services (NAIS) in Gwembe.
Mapulanga said the seven funded projects have been implemented to address the
HIV/AIDS scourge in the district.
He told NAIS that the projects have been implemented in chiefs Munyumbwe and
Chipepo’s chiefdoms.
Mapulanga named the projects as Gwembe youth HIV/AIDS, Musisa behavioural change for widows and Lukonde orphans and vulnerable children.
Others are Twapenga orphans and vulnerable children and Naka home based care projects.
Mapulanga noted that the activities include community sensitization on HIV/AIDS,
home based care, provision of food stuffs and support for school going children.
He further noted that Lukonde project in chief Munyumbwe’s chiefdom is supporting 30
children at secondary school and providing food stuffs to 124 households.
