Zambia squad for Ghana CAN 2008 Group 11 qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville

1. It looks like a team that can deliver if only they engage in competitive friendlies with formidable teams not teams like Namibia.FAZ CONSIDER incentives to the teams so that they become motivated.At the end of every game, there are so many squables that our players have with FAZ over allowances. I hope this will be a thing of the past.

2. If Phiri can leave out Andrew Sinkala why can’t he call Ian Bakala in the midfield and call Chaswe Nsofwa to strengthen the strikers? Ian hes a natural midfielder who will dribble and feed the ball to the strikers without hardship and if an opportunity comes his way he scores. In my opinion I feel a player like Chaswe will be a plus to the national team because of his ability to score at any given opportunity. Has Phiri forgotten how influential Chaswe was in Zambia vs Angola COSAFA cup final 2006? Phiri this is no time of experiment players call players that have experience, and players who have creativity. In Malaysia we have a lot of Zambian players who deserve call up to the national team e.g. Philemon Chipeta, Zachariah Simukonda, Francis Kombe, Kazimati Kabwe etc…Besides that the Zambian players in Malaysia competitive soccer then the ones in local leagues. Please call the players on merit for Zambia to qualify to Ghana 2008

Isaac Chansa is one of the best Zambian players around and hes moving to Europe in the summer to play in the same team as HenrickLarsson yet he is consistently ignored.How can you have four midfilders in a team-and James Chamanga is a striker more than a midfielder so thats 3 midfielders.Why didnt they include Sashi Chalwe,hes always been a good player,while Rotson Kilambe can still do a great job upfront.

4. This is nonsense.

   How can the coach leave out Isaac Chansa and Ian Bakala when we know very well that our weakest link is the midfield. How do you expect to beat the Congolese with depleted midfield.

   Patrick Phiri must remember that he failed to qualify us for the 2004 edition of the AFCON and he should be very wary of the fact that with this kind of selections, he risks becoming the first coach to have failed to qualify the team to AFCON on two occassions.

5. I do not know the cretaria used in picking players to the National Team, but sometimes I wonder. I think any coach would be happy to be given a chance to watch all players he wants to consider for selection, Phiri does not get this chance. He selects most of the players based on press reports. It is really difficult for him. No friendly games but all we expect is Zambia to win. Where is the friendly game versus Nigeria gone. I read somewhere Zambia was to play Nigeria. Nothing will change, cause we do too much talking and less work. It is really sad.

6. On paper the squad looks good. I am very worried with our midfield. last time Zambia played Congo and Mali, our midfield was exposed, unless the coach unlishes more players in the midfield. I have doubts with our strikers as they can disappoint at times. Mbesuma has never scored since the qualifiers begun, Dube phiri, is no longer prolific in the league, this only leaves katongo, chamanga and Mulenga as the trio strikers. For them to score they need good feeding from midfielders. kalaba is in form and I hope he is going to deliver. I would have loved the coach to include chaswe as noted by Mr. chitalu. Isaac is not fully fit as he had been serving suspension for three months, but he is a plus point for the nesx game against South Africa.

7. Do not lie Chips. Isaac is fully fit and played an outstanding role in Orlando Pirates win against Celtic on Wednesday, 17 May 2007 and before that he played 90 minutes against Golden Arrows on 12 May 2007.

   So what finess are you talking about?

   The reason he was left out is that the coach does not have the chance to watch these players period

8. Guys dont unerrate the coach´s decision by calling these players. Phiri said those who are in south africa they have a chance to prove themselve when Zambia play Nambia in a friendly.

9. By the way I cannot remember when I saw Sinkala play for his team. After all the team is playing for is in divison three which cannot be compared to our supper division. Moses Sichone has been out of action since January to problems with his club. So let support our nation team there is chance to make it.

10. Coach Patrick Phiri please select on players on merit. Most players selected are not in thier best share for this stage. Lets give cahnce to players who really derseve it not because a player had scored more in past years. Zambia has a lot for players I just wanna give you a few names who are in thier best form. 1. Misheck Lungu Lombard, 2. Lloyd Mumba Lombard-Papa TFC, Hungary, 3. Chaswe Nsofwa Melaka TMFC, Malaysia. 4. Kabwe Kamuzati, 5. Phillimon Chipeta, 6. Zacharia Simukonda Perlis FA, Malaysia,

There we are.Phiri has already failed us for a second time.Why has he left out Nsofwa Chaswe such a prolific striker who can score from any given angle and bring in Jacob Mulenga who has failed us in the past.Kalu had been featuring him in many matches but all he could do is miss even in the eighteen area.His only goal I can recall is a bicycle kick.At one time it had to take the great Kalu from the coaching bench on to the pitch to help failing strikers like Jacob Mulenga.Also if Mbesuma could be used as a super subsititute he can deliver goals rather than playing him 90min.

Hi fellow soccer lovers.I am conerned about the midfield,nevertheless this is a must win game to avoid using calculators in the eleventh hour as to who has scored what.Just dont allow Mbesuma to go to luashya and guzzle those shake shake .I belive in Katongo.He got an award on wed. for top scorer though in absential.Tonight he has been tipped to get more awards from cosmos his former club.To all you fokes lets go all out for a massive support in chingola and support the boys.The once befallen chipolopolo shall rise.vin vis vid.FAZ allowance issues should not be addressed at this platform .You should motivate players long before soccer starts.Luboya Mwamba,Techno highveld park,Centurion.Pretoria.

I am highly disapointed with Phiris choice of midfielders.Why should he use a natural midfielder Mark sinyagwe in diffence.This is totaly a miss for our coach iam very he is going to fail us yet again.IF Zambia beats congo by only a narrow magin we are in a mess because we will be tight on goal difference what am i saying our strikers are all off form save for katongo and kalaba but the is good.

17. Here we go again, Ghana 2008 and it’s typical Zamabia. No keeper, no defenders, no strikers and no team.we don’t have a single player who can deliver when our nation is in need.In short its side netting again, no goals.Iam not bothered but i will support to the end.
