ZAMBIA WIN IN NAMIBIA.

Share

Zesco United striker Enoch Sakala made a resounding debut for Zambia today with a brace in a 2-1 away win in Windhoek for Patrick Phiri’s side against Ben Bamfuchile’s Namibia in an international friendly.

Sakala scored 25th and 78th minutes before Namibia’s Lete Shatimuene scored Namibia’s consolation towards the end of the match.

The Zesco striker has been in fine form for Zesco this season since joining from division 1 north club Ndola United and had scored 6 goals in 13 competitive games for his now club.

Today’s game meanwhile was Zambia’s first international game of the year and was part of the build-up ahead of next Saturdays Africa Cup Group 11 qualifier against Congo-Brazzaville to be played at Konkola stadium in Chililabombwe.

The team returns home tomorrow.

And on the rugby front also in Windhoek, Zambia were crashed 83-10 by Namibia today in the two sides CAR Africa Cup Group B opening fixture.

Namibia top the group ahead of their final match away to Uganda on June 23 while Zambia hosts the latter on July 7 to wrap-up their pool commitments.

  1. Good result boys especially that the lads were away. Our Boys they struggle to play away from home. Good luck next sat with the red devils of Congo.Make sure to work on all the 3 parts of the team. Ben is for sure in hot soup for not producing results for the brave warroirs.

  2. Good boys keep it up and hard lucky for Ruby team definately it was a good experience. But the reporter for Zambias third contigent they are also in Namibia warning up for the All Africa Games. Where are the results is this a state secret? We want to know how the boys and girls are performing.

  3. Mr Patrick, thank you very much but there’s one thing i don’t understand. How are you able to ignore Kampamba Chintu one of the most reliable defenders at golden arrows?

  4. Luca$ I have been wondering why this boy is never given a chance. Only Phiri knows

  5. MUCH AS THE ATTENTION IS FOCUSSED ON THE SENIOR TEAM, WE MUST NOT FORGET THE PROGRESS THE UNDER 20 IS MAKING IN EUROPE, WHERE MOST CLUBS ARE BEIN EMBARASSED, 6-0, 5-0 AND i WISH THE UNDER 20 ALL THE BEST OF LUCK AS THEY PREPARE AND GO TO CANADA.
MAY I ALSO WISH THE UNDER 23 A GOOD GAME AGAINST IVORY COAST, WHICH i KNOW WOULD NOT BE AN EASY MATCH. THE SENIOR TEAM SHOULD ROLL OVER THE CONGO.WE EXPECT ALL THE TEAMS TO WIN REGARDLESS OF FAZ ADMINISTRATIVE MALAISE AND LACK OF PROPER WARM UP FRIENDLIES.

    GOOD LUCK ZAMBIA

  6. Iam very happy with the results the boys got from Namimbia. Sakala did very well and Iam hoping to see him in the team next saturday.

lastly wish the chipolopolo boys all the best even if i know there not going to qualify.

  8. Hi, this is Chris Muta from UK, Its good that Zambia is coming up. We need the all squad to be participating in friendlies. Good luck Chipolopolo boys. We need you to represent Zambia.

  9. bernard phiri,

Bernard makufi is Sweden but no longer plays competitive football because of a serious knee that he suffred during zambia’s friendly match against kenya in 2001 when zambia was preparing for 2002 AFOCN.

Others were included Ronald Mbambara who chose beer over soccer and can be found in cheap pubs around lusaka. Emmannuel Zulu struggles to regain the form that almost landed at Bayern Munich, Gift Kampamba is in South Africa playing in division one or Mvela league, Nsofwa Chaswe is in Malaysia.

Overally most players faded into oblivion because of lack of discipline and guidance. They are now street adults on the copperbelt and lusaka

    This is all I KNOW.

  10. Any way ,those are good results despite playing an under dog team. According to Namibia’s current situation am not satisfied with the results not until i see the team qualify to Ghana 2008. Our correspondent,Mk in Windhoek, tell us how the lads performed
