 President Mwanawasa today visited the funeral house of the late mother of Local Government Minister Sylvia Masebo’s Ms Magaret Mwachiyeya Tembo in Lusaka’s Woodlands residential area.
Mr Mwanawasa was received at the funeral house by top government and MMD party
officials led by Home Affairs Minister Lieutenant General Ronnie Shikapwasha.
Lusaka Province Minister Charles Shawa and MMD deputy national secretary Major
Richard Kachingwe were also at the funeral house.
The President sat at the funeral house for about an hour after he left for State House.
Mrs. Tembo died on Thursday after an illness. She was 71.
Burial is scheduled to take place at Old Leopards Hill cemetery tomorrow after a
requiem mass at 09: 30 hours at the Cathedral of the Child Jesus in Longacres.
And consoling mourners at the funeral house, Lt. General Shikapwasha who is a
pastor said people should look to God for peace and strength in times of sorrow.
My condolences to the Masebo and Tembo families.May God console you in these difficult times.May mama rest in peace.
