The ministry of health in Mansa district targets to immunize 40, 000 children against measles in the campaign that begins on Monday next week.

District Director of Health, Delia Kanguma, said the 40, 000 children would also be
given Vitamin A supplementation, and de-worming tablets during the integrated
measles campaign slated for July 9 to 14.

She said the District Health Management Team, DHMT, has already received vaccines
and other logistics to be used during the campaign.

Ms. Kanguma was speaking during a measles preparatory meeting held with stakeholders
at the Boma Conference room.

She explained that the DHMT had already started distributing the vaccines and other
logistics to all the 26 health centers in the district.

She said the distribution of the vaccines and logistics would be completed by
Saturday this week before the commencement of the Six-day immunization exercise.

  1. Huhu, Iam sceptical why so many donations of medicines, Are the drugs locally made. last week it Laura now this executive World Bank director visiting us. Zambians handouts are not good. In Pakstania ther is medicine war where the locals have been refusing the vaccine against polio. They beleive the vaccine is one convention war to make most Pakstanian men impotent. The west is afriad of Pakstain would rise to a supper power in the near future. In future there will no physical wars but water of war, cyber war and war of dieases. I hope this vaccines have been tested and contaminated free of any chemicals that could risk life.

  2. I wish to applaud the Ministry of Health Mansa district for this iniative.Measles being a contangious viral and acute disease which usually occurs in children and is characterized by the eruption of red spots in the skin, fever and fatal especially in malnourished children. They need to make sure all children receive the vaccination and I only hope these aren`t expired vaccines.Measles being a preventable disease shouldn`t take any precious life in this day and era.I hope that this would be a national campaign.

  3. I doubt there are any vaccines made in Zambia on such a scale. Children have always been vaccinated all over the world, mostly with vaccines made by multinational pharmaceutical organizations. African countries lack the resources to put in place effective vaccination programs. This threatens the re-emergency of diseases like polio, which no longer exist in Europe, Japan and North America. It is therefore in the interest of everyone to make sure that impoverished countries like Zambia are assisted with vaccines to contain deadly diseases. Some misguided Mullahs in Islamic Nigerian states and Pakistan have been preaching against polio vaccination. Its a shame that Nigeria, which should be Africa’s richest country has such backward people in its population. If there is concern about the drugs being contaminated then the ministry of health should carry out tests. Unfounded suspicions that have no fact in Science show up Africans as backward and irrational. This program should be welcomed.

  4. Did you know that most of the politicians in the world answer to a certain HIDEN HIGHER POWER? When one of Zambia’s ministers bought expired drugs who knew about it?………..until someone blew the whistle proberbly one did not get his cut from the deal with the drug comp. Lets be careful Zed pipo.Remember Ebola in congo, the anthrax attacks in the USA. Aha… Vaccines is one of the leathal weapons that the europeans used to wipe out most of the natives of the Americas. The evidence is overwelming. What am trying to say is lets be cautious and I hope one who is in charge of this project in Zed is not one of the hidden-hands agent(NWO). Remember the belgian nurses who are still in custody in Libya for infecting Libyan children with HIV/AIDS. Love ZED, this is only information take it or leave it.

  5. Unza will stand despite the dilapidation levels. By the year 2000, it had good computer fascilites and internet was free to all university students. Monks used to drink chibuku because it was affordable to buy, but when they got paid they all drunk catsle and mosi and really dressed well that all kabulonga girls used to go down. Monks used to go with notes to read while drinking and they talked about issues of national development. It was during such moments that plans to attack societyby infuriating it using STONE AGE tactics were deploid. The monks went from RUINS to NEW RES to involve the inactive week soldiers so that they could become affected. Or affect them so that they could get involved. Warning shots were given to Prof. Chanda the then vice chancellor, and then all UNZA BLUES were ordered to become impotent lest they risked to face student engulfment. And then they closed the unza gate and VIVA continued against police pending on the otherside of great east road. MHSRIP

Easy and Lombe I agree with you both that these so called immunisation campaigns could well be biological warfare tactics on our defenceless people. We should not forget that this has been done before! Many HIV/AIDS researchers are convinced that HIV was a man made disease and did not come from ‘green monkeys’ in Congo as they have had everyone believe. As we all know this depopulation agenda was mass commercialised or mass experimented with black people that is why we have seen the explosion of AIDS mainly in Southern Africa were we also just happen to have had the worst liberation struggles against colonial rule! Alternative views on the HIV/AIDS conspiracy indicate that it is believed the viruses were transmitted during or with the Western (UN) inspired immunisation campaigns of the 70s, 80s and so on.
This whole thing is about world control, greedy profits from multi national pharmaceutical companies and just out right evil by the NWO agents and there hidden agendas!

  7. To bad that we have alot of scholars that preach about theories. What has Luapula province to offer that one would target its population? If you have never experienced a close relative die of measles, please continue with your speculation. It is like being in a village where peole use a mat or a cloth as a door. Others even sleep outside. Then here is a theorist who brings a door made out of steal and hinges it on the door frame for the fear that he might be the only one who could be attacked. Is that normal? Yes of course he could be attacked if he owns more resources than anyone else. Supposing the donation was to construct roads or build hospitals or schools; what will you have said? If where you are, you are so comfoprtable that you do not realise how we need any kind of assistance in health please continue dreaming.

  8. Nkhataboy#7 dont be pro west these are not theories but facts. A black person is seen as a product from toes to his hairs. If you live in the west can you tell why there is no campaign for all to go for HIV test. Are not humans themselves. How many declare their HIV status, in Southern Africa you are told got for tests sick or not sick. Have you heard of Indian 1 virus that even more dangerous than HIV or measles which killed thousands of popi in starting April 2001.These are all biological weapons which can finish or weaken a society. Mr. Nhkataboy can you point at an African who eat a monkey and then he later tested HIV positive. Pilz try to recall how HIV started especially in Zambia who was the first person announce that he is HIV positive then you can start getting sense of out it. The truth is if you want to defeat an enemy hit him where is vulnarable, these are years of study of our society and some know our weakness very well. 1. Our poverty 2. Sexual behaviour of polygamy.

  9. Zambians when I say this Iam not against getting help but sometimes it helps to be curious and inquistive before accepting something as #6 has said. Zimbabwe is one strong nation that has resisted west influences and you will see them surviving and us dying. Today sickness is business we must know that the cake (raw materials) is becoming smaller and smaller it is a question of survivor. So be vigilant and open not only your ears but also your eyes of world events. My questions are drugs or vaccines being tested for safety before being administered to our children.

  10. I wonder what you guys are upto. You certainly do NOT appreciate the benefits of immunisation. If you have facts about “biological” weapons, then it would be good to follow up on that otherwise its sad you are speculating negatively.
There is more HIV in Africa and thats how the message to test should be stronger than the west were the rates are low. Its as simple as that!

  11. There is nothing wrong with the mass immunization campaigns such as the one being conducted by Mansa. By the way it is not Mansa DHMT alone, its a National Program with the Ministry of Health fully involved and supported by WHO and UNICEF. Measles is one of the Diseases that have been earmarked for control in the Third world and elimination in the 1st world. Only 85% Of Children immunized through the Routine immunization programme at the age of 9 months sero convert and get protected from measles. The 15% not protected and those that do not get immunized at all constitute a pool of unprotected children who end up catching measles in an epidemic proportion.
The vaccine is safe. Everyone should support the programme and avail your eligible children

  12. #11 RKB do have proof that these vaccines are safe. I hope in future when have more blind people in Luapula you wont say it is because of fish eating. Our concern is handouts makes things suspious I hope the GRZ really tested these drugs before starting administering them. If a minister order contaminated ARVs then can he stop him accept anything anyway. I know a helping hand is always welcome but it must not have consquences in future. I just hope this being implemented under the usual under5 clinic system that have been in existing. Is not in the Laupula province where recently health workers were clobbered for collecting blood from pipo before informing them. How can do such things you don force people to do such donation it must be free. After medically its wrong because we have different blood groups.

  13. #8 Easy, I think you are just full of irrelevant points. This is no time to play around and put your theories at test when people are dying in magnitude. Irradiation of measles is one of the objectives under the millennium goals. Do not create a situation under the influence of diaspora and think it can work out at home. It is like a person who is where you are and wants to build a house in Zambia through remote control. Because he does not have first hand information on poverty, hunger and other related problems that his relatives are facing, he thinks that his plan will be achieved as perceived but to the contrary. Get there and see what is happening. Perhaps even your priorities might change. We adore any form of assistance that we are receiving in practical terms. At least results have shown that since this exercise started in the late 1970’s the incidence of measles has reduced drastically.

  14. Samfya, July 7, ZANIS ——— Measles has broken out in Chimembe and Katanshya areas of Samfya. Two people have so far been infected and are receiving treatment at Katanshya rural health centre. District Director of health, Albert Kaonga, confirmed to ZANIS yesterday that two suspected cases have been recorded at Katanshya rural health centre. Dr. Kaonga said specimen have been collected from the two patients and have been sent to the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka for laboratory verification. And Six cases of rabies have been recorded in Katanshya area in Samfya. District Director of Health Dr Albert Kaonga told ZANIS today that Six people were beaten by a rabid dog and have shown positive signs of contracting rabies. However, Dr. Kaonga said no treatment has been administered on the patients as the district has no anti-rabies medicine in stock

  15. #13Nkhataboy who gives gats to lender my arguments pointless. Those are my views we want this done orderly, harmless and secure. Baba for you it doesnt matter so long vaccines are conducted even if they are not in line with health requirements. Please abit of nosy and inquistive can bring sanity to hpw some of these health help are conducted. Africa should not be a testing field for medicine. Have ever work in pharmactical firm do you know what they are capable to do in the health. We should not maginarize things abit of asking for safety will save more lives.
