Girl 14 defiled in Sinazongwe

By Tovin Ngombe:-

A 40 year old man has defiled and infected a 14 year old girl with a Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) in Sinazeze in Sinazongwe district.

The brother to the girl Steward Moono told ZANIS that Sinazeze police has failed to arrest the alleged defiler since the matter was reported to them.

He said the girl contracted STD after she was defiled and she is admitted to Maamba hospital’s children ward.

Moono who only identified the alleged defiler as Siamumbeze of Sinazeze said he eluded the police when they tried to arrest him.

He explained that the incident happened two months ago but Sinazeze police has failed to arrest the alleged defiler even when he resurfaced after he ran away.

“Right now he is moving freely in Sinazeze when my only sister is pain and started getting sick when she was defiled,” Moono bemoaned.

He said when Sinazeze police were delaying in arresting the alleged defiler he decided to report the matter to Sinazongwe police who assured him that they would handle the matter.
“Despite Sinazongwe police officer in-charge, giving a three days ultimatum to Sinazeze police to arrest the offender they not nabed him,” Moono said.

A check at Sinazongwe police revealed that they received the report and the officer-in-charge said they would ensure that the alleged defiler was arrested.

Defilement cases were at an increase in Sinazongwe district and most cases ends up being sorted outside the court and in most cases they are reported late to police.

In May a 14 year old girl in Sinazongwe was eloped and defiled.

Sinazongwe police arrested the defiler after the father to the girl Peter Simukande reported the incident.

But later the parents withdraw the case and sorted it outside the court.

  1. The current scenario of increased cases of defilement is shocking and makes very sad news. Despite heavy sentences being meted to culprits it appears the message is not getting home enough. I urge all concerned citizens to address this curse that is foreign to Zambia that now has suddenly overtaken us. I would love to see the Church forcefully address this in their messages and community outreaches. Civic societies must begin to tackle this problem now. The media should also sensitise and broadcast all harsh punitive measures that the courts are meting out to these irresponsible and sick individuals that are destroying our society. MPs should also ensure that new laws that offer stiffer penalties are enacted to address the scourge.

  2. I propose that one of the punitive measures is to have the offenders, in additional to other severe punishment, parade in their districts at busy sections of the communities such as bus stations or at shops like Shoprite, holding banners for themselves that read, “Ndicipumbu, nalicita defile umwana.” (“I am stupid, I defiled a child”). This will make those “ifipumbu” that we have to reconsider their ways. Relatives of these victims should ensure that these beasts deserve their full punishment.

  3. Why cant a law be passed that all convicted of defilement should be castrated to ensure that they dont do it again and to deter other would be defilers. i feel a prison sentence is not enough. Imagin the pain and agony that families of victims go through.

  4. #1. I always laugh when people make claims that certain practices are foreign to Zambia. A lot of things happen in Zambia just like in other countries. It’s the same with difilement. Not so long ago it was common for girls as young as 15 years to be married off. But now the socio-cultural altitudes are changing and the law against difilement(which by the way we’ve always had since independence) is now been vigorously enforced. It is now accepted as criminal to have sex with a girl or boy under the age of consent (16).

  5. Defilers, please tell the nation what you benefit from this evil act! Bushe balamikana abakalamba? Doctors, would you please measure their manhood, may be they have too small to fit in a child as young as six years. This devils are everywhere, we have one here in Mpika! This person defiled a pupil and he managed to settle the matter outside court and a year late he was found by his wife doing the very act to his niece and again he got away with it. “EKO CALEINGILA, ALA KWALI CIPOKOPOKO” HOW DO YOU LET SUCH CASES TO BE OUT SIDE COURT? Police officers,Let me tell the nation that it is you who encourage people to settle the cases out side court pakuti mulyemo mucipondo. Ala mukalya namuchilema ukucisunka pa wheel chair! Our defiler here is a teacher, I wonder the type of knowledge he is pumping in our young ones. Siyani talent icite mature…..

  6. Below is an interesting news item on Yahoo News that I suppose matches my earlier proposal on # 2 CK:
Soliciting sex draws fowl sentence for 3
Thu Jul 26, 6:57 PM ET
PAINESVILLE, Ohio – A judge known for giving unusual sentences has ordered three men who pleaded guilty to soliciting sex to take turns dressing in a bright yellow chicken
Painesville Municipal Judge Michael Cicconetti agreed to suspend a 30-day jail sentence if they wear the costume between 4 and 7 p.m. Friday outside the court while carrying a sign that reads “No Chicken Ranch in Painesville.”
The sign and costume refer to the “World Famous Chicken Ranch,” a prostitution house in Nevada where sex-for-money is legal.
Daniel Chapdelaine, 40, of Perry Township; Martin Soto, 44, of Ashtabula; and Fabian Rodriguez-Ramirez, 29, of Painesville, solicited sex from an undercover Painesville police officer earlier this summer.
Cicconetti has used barnyard animals to dispense justice in the past.
He ordered a man who called a policeman a pig to stand next to a live pig in a pen and hold a sign that read “This Is Not a Police Officer.” A couple who stole a baby Jesus statue from a manger were sentenced to dress as Mary and Joseph and walk with a donkey.

  7. i could suggest that the court of in zambia should take an uper hand and put all such cases under them since courts are always independent body and the gouvernment should act accodingly to ensure that strict laws are put forward to act upon immoral acts
