39 year old Mufulira woman raped

A 39 year old woman of Mufulira’s Kankoyo township has been raped by unknown men.

The named woman was raped in Butondo area where she had gone to collect firewood for
in a nearby bush.

The incident happened on Wednesday this week near  the Mufulira Mine West shaft.

Acting Mufulira district police officer commanding Chinyama Kalobwani confirmed the
incident to ZANIS  in Mufulira today.

Mr Kalobwani said Meleki was alone in the bush when the incident happened and was
only rescued by passersby.

The suspect is on the run while  police  have launched a manhunt.
