Police in Nchelenge in Luapula are holding a man of Mutampuka village in Chienge district for stabbing his pregnant wife to death.
Police told ZANIS in Nchelenge that on 20th July this year, the named man allegedly have stabbed his 24 year old wife with a knife in unclear circumstances before fleeing from the scene.
The named woman sustained deep cuts on the left chick and nose and died a few
hours later.
The deceased was found lying in a pool of blood by neighbours who heard her cry
for help.
 Post-mortem results showed that the seven month pregnant woman died from
excessive loss of blood.
Police said the accused has since been transferred from Chienge police post to
Nchelenge police station to stand trial as Chienge district has no magistrate
court.

Man is depraved. Life is from God and it is a shame in a whim of a second one can take away life just like that.

These cruelity traits have permeated through the discendants of these tribesmen. That is why the mojority of people on death row for murder in Zambian Prisons today, hail from Luapula.
