Levy’s Condition Remains Stable – Mulongoti

Share

Government says President Levy Mwanawasa’s condition remained stable in Percy Military Hospital in Paris, France where he is admitted.

Updating the Nation on the president’s condition on National television this evening, Chief Government’s spokesperson Mike Mulongoti said government was confident with the medical attention the president is receiving in France, all will be well.

Mr. Mulongoti has since urged Zambians to ignore earlier reports on BBC, and other international media organisations that President Mwanawasa had died.

Mr. Mulongoti who is also information and Broadcasting Services Minister, appealed to Zambians to regard as false any information outside what government is saying.

He urged the country to continue praying for the quick recovery of the president.

  1. South Africa’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement saying there was a misunderstanding after President Thabo Mbeki said he had been informed by the executive secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) that Mwanawasa was dead.

Mbeki had called for a minute’s silence while attending a remembrance ceremony in Pretoria for victims of a recent wave of xenophobic attacks in South Africa.

“The doctors attending to (Mwanawasa) are happy with progress he has made so far and his condition remains stable. He has continued to receive treatment for hypertension in the intensive care unit and there are no new developments,” Zambian Vice President Rupiah Banda said in a statement.

  2. why didnt he verify even him?how do you rush to pass such a careless statement? anyway we pray that everything will be well.

  3. Cuz this is Africa – best at picking bananas… Mulongoti should be on znbc on a regular basis giving a status report until Mwanawasa speaks for himself. If ever!!!! Today has been shameful to say the least

  4. The Lord God is faithful. The God of our country he will be Gracious to our country and his selfless man servant at his weakest hour.

  5. Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa has died and is likely to be buried within five days, a Zambian government official has told The Times Online.

The official said vice president Rupia Banda, who was acting president while Levy was in Egypt, would act as president until an election was held.

    What does the headline say?

    ~ Levy’s Condition Remains Stable – Mulongoti ~

Or do you just want to go on repeating the rumour over and over?

  9. #7,#8. Come guys, grow up and use your common sense even though it’s not that common. Ba Admin, can’t you just report #8 to the authorities. Just extract his IP address from your logs and submit it to the authorities. Believe you me, as a matter of national security, they will track him down. This guy should be made an example. Moreover, where are your morals, you just don’t fool around with someone’s life like that, for that matter the president.

  10. Zambian citizens, please don’t let one fool you. This is public knoweledge that LPM is history. MHSRIP … just wait — someone in Lusaka will officially be announcing soon. As I told everybody yesterday I have RELIABLE INSIDE INFORMATION.

  11. BRAIN HAEMORRHAGE

At least one in 100 people go about their daily routine unaware that they have potentially deadly flaws in the blood vessels of their brain. These defects, known as berry aneurysms, are like tiny balloons where the wall of the artery has thinned and weakened. They’re usually congenital – you’re born with them – although they may be the consequence of ageing or high blood pressure.

Berry aneurysms may burst if put under extra stress. The end result is a brain haemorrhage or stroke.

The haemorrhage that occurs when a berry aneurysm bursts is known as a subarachnoid haemorrhage because the layer around the brain in which the bleeding occurs.

  12. What causes it?

Fortunately, not every berry aneurysm ruptures – only about one in 7,000 people have a subarachnoid haemorrhage. And not every brain haemorrhage is due to a berry aneurysm. Although about 70 per cent of subarachnoid haemorrhages are caused this way, no defect can be found in at least ten per cent, and there are other types of brain haemorrhage. Also, not every stroke is due to a haemorrhage – the majority are caused by blockages of the blood supply by a clot or atherosclerosis.
    Who’s affected?

The great tragedy of subarachnoid haemorrhage is that it frequently occurs in young adults

  15. What are the symptoms?

There’s often little or no warning that a subarachnoid haemorrhage is about to occur. Typically, the person collapses with a sudden headache unlike any they’ve experienced before. They may vomit, develop signs of meningitis, such as neck stiffness and dislike of light, and may rapidly become drowsy, confused and unconscious.

In milder cases, the illness may appear like migraine or meningitis due to an infection, but in severe cases it’s quickly apparent that something is seriously wrong.
    How’s it diagnosed?

Once a person reaches hospital, diagnosis is usually quickly confirmed with a CT scan of the brain.

  16. What’s the treatment?

Those who survive the initial episode are at great risk of another bleed unless action is taken. The standard treatment used to be surgery, which involves opening the skull and clipping off the faulty blood vessel. This operation, known as clipping, is usually done within days, but in severe cases and the elderly it may be delayed for a few weeks. However, although the operation puts an end to the risk, it carries a risk of damage (although this risk is far less than that of a second bleed.)

In recent years, a new technique has been developed as an alternative to clipping. In this technique, known as endovascular detachable-coil treatment or coiling, a detachable plan

  19. Recovery from any type of stroke tends to be slow. Intensive rehabilitation therapy, including physiotherapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy, are usually needed.

Depression is a common problem after stroke, and good psychological and drug treatments are essential to help recovery.

After decades of being viewed as a fairly hopeless condition where only a little positive treatment could be done, new approaches are at last starting to make some impact on recovery rates from strokes. For example, researchers have shown for the first time in humans that rehabilitation therapy may help a stroke survivor’s brain rewire itself, leading to regained use of a previously unused limb.

The French Foreign Ministry has also denied reports of Mwanawasa’s death, although they declined to comment on his health.

  26. French Ministry Says Zambia President Being Treated in Hospital

    By Nasreen Seria

July 3 (Bloomberg) — The French Foreign Ministry said Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa was being treated at a hospital outside Paris, countering a report on South Africa’s 702 radio that he had died after suffering a stroke.

The ministry declined to comment on the state of his health, according to an electronic briefing on its Web site today. A spokesman for the Percy military hospital refused to comment, referring all questions to the foreign ministry.

  27. #28, don’t think you can fool us by cutting and pasting medical information and then calling yourself a doc. What people want to hear now are facts about the president’s condition.

  28. It’s up to Zambian authorities to comment on the state of Mwanawasa’s health, the French ministry said.

Zambian Finance Minister Ngandu Magande said he couldn’t confirm the report on 702 radio either. Foreign Affairs Minister Kabinga Pande had told Magande at 10 a.m. local time today that Mwanawasa’s condition was stable, Magande said in a telephone interview from his mobile phone.

  29. BJ10 #33 Doctor is way out of his mind with book biology text book extracts. He thinks we are medical students here ready to learn biology. I’m sure he knows now he is in a wrong forum and thats why he is queit now.

  30. i agree with dante, its very clear that mr mwanawasa is not able to continue as president.he’s made some great contributions to the nation and im thankful he was president but its for his own good and the good of the nation that he steps down.

  31. Iwe #29 Chintomfwa, let people believe what they want. Are you Zimbabwean? Why’re you taking it like it’s your job to pass on the bad news to us? If the govt wants us lied to, so be it. Govts operate like that if there are issues of national security involved. After all it’s just a matter of time before we know the truth, and before you, and every other living thing answers the call to die.

  32. #40 Anonymous — the frustration is for this govt to turn a blind eye to the truth and hoping LPM is coming home. As I said earlier I have INSIDE INFORMATION. By the way I’m Zambian — just to let you know.

  33. Mulongoti and his cronies have always been lying to you, what is so special about today for them to tell you the truth?

  34. Those of us out there that know and fear the Lord, let’s pray for the President and his family – that they may know HIS presence in these difficult times.

  35. #44 Mutino — yes yes … these people lie every day to all of us. The first sentence out of their mouths everyday is a lie. So even today there is really nothing serious they have seen to be honest about. Until somone like uou and me Mutino start telling them what they don’t want to hear they will never change. MHSRIP.

  36. Earlier on Thursday, South African radio reported that Mwanawasa had died, quoting a spokesman from the Zambian high commission.

Thabo Mbeki, the president of South Africa, said he had been informed by the executive-secretary of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) that Mwanawasa had died.

Mwanawasa was rushed to hospital on Sunday in the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh after suffering a stroke just before an African Union summit.

He was later transferred to Paris for treatment.

But Banda said Mwanawasa was being treated for hypertension.

  37. In developed countries People unity on such issues like this. They don`t look at political back ground or what that person has done wrong or not. Come on Zambians, we are human beings who should have feelings. This is our own President, we need to be touched and feel sad for whats going on with him. Think about your own mom or dad going through this, would you love to hear people passing bad comments over this? Lets Unite and keep Praying for the Lord Jesus to extend His healing hand upon him.

  38. #47 bauze — please no copy/paste stuff here. We all have internet and we are all already seen all that crap you just pasted. Its about opinions here please. MHSRIP.

  39. But Banda said Mwanawasa was being treated for hypertension.

“The doctors attending to [Mwanawasa] are happy with progress he has made so far and his condition remains stable. He has continued to receive treatment for hypertension in the intensive care unit and there are no new developments,” he said.

In France, questioned on reports that the president had died, Frederic Desagneaux, a French foreign ministry spokesman, said: “No, I am not in a position to confirm it.”

He added: “I confirm to you … that … Mwanawasa is currently being cared for at the Percy-Clamart military hospital.”

He said it was for the Zambian authorities to give updates on his condition.

  40. A some pipo have spilled ‘chintofwa’ with some negative vibes, What ever the case its not right. Lets not forget we are still nursing (if alive) a critically ill bululu( Ba Kateka) and should not insult one another it only makes the devil happy and he will compound our problems. Do not let Satan derail us from standing as one and praying for the best for Zed.

  41. #48 Doctor — I have better websites for u where u can cut & paste biology stuff. Remember nobody is interested in a lecture here.

  42. We thank God Mwanawasa is alive. Its stupid for mulongoti to make silly remarks that people peddling rumours on Mwanawasa’s health would be punished. Mwanawasa’s puppets have always lied about his health condition. We all know he is not too well and as a result speculations on his health will always be high. Its time for zambian’s to work up. Let us for once be realistic and responsible and develop our country for the sake of our Children and generations to come.

  43. living in denial is not a crime nor a bad thing. People don’t recognize the current sources of information. It’s normal and indeed prudent to treat every reporter who quotes what he or she can only call ‘reliable source’ with caution and suspect. You want people to take what a blogger going by the name of Chintonfwa says as gospel truth? For what? The big man may be dead or alive…so what? The truth shall be known in good time, to avoid anarchy. I’m one person whoz inclined to think the worst has happened, but that doesn’t mean I should be at it calling people as ‘living in denial’ or devoid of qualities for devept.

  44. Iwe chintomfwa ichindike, you are too opiniated for your own good. Yes you may have read it, but not everyone has. You opinion is actually baseless becoz you haven’t come up with any credible definitive source on which you have based it, if anything you are rabble rousing. It is probable that in the end we will be provided with the reality of what has happened. so maintain your opinions but stop harping on about what I do on this site. Thanx!

  45. I hope this will help.this is an update from a Aljazeera news agency:
In France, questioned on reports that the president had died, Frederic Desagneaux, a French foreign ministry spokesman, said: “No, I am not in a position to confirm it.”

He added: “I confirm to you … that … Mwanawasa is currently being cared for at the Percy-Clamart military hospital.”

  46. It looks like all news agencies are quoting the same source of the death radio 702. Not a single one has a different source. be it cnn, aljazeera, bbc, fox, sky, yahoo news etc etc all relied on the report on 702 and disappointingly none tried to verify the story. Lets not rely so much on these stations. Govt needs to tell Chitubo and not maureen to put the issue to rest unless they are too scared to face the truth.

  47. Ladies & Gentlemen,

The President is alive. Please believe me, he is alive and let us continue to pray for his quick recovery. The First lady and Mike are right and it is verifiable. GRZ should pursue countries that that aired false information without following bilateral protocals on such matters.

  48. Tabafwile ba Kateka … that’s the fact. He’s been in a critical condition of course though, admittedly, the alarm was just some misunderstanding.
Mates, please realize that though sometimes we tend to be so careless with what we say or do, life and death lie in the power of the tongue. Be careful because you might just get what you wish for. Do you realize that our sweet country would be sitting on a time bomb if the head of state died? For those doing it out of hate realize that one monster dies, another one comes alive. This isn’t simple politics … it is national stability! I wish our head of state a quick recovery!

  49. Too much iresponsible blogging will turn this site into something not paying attention to and people like me will just forget about it’s existence. To the contrary I like this site because the news briefs are more frequent than the Post and other local papers. For now let’s have responsible reporting as regards the president’s status. As citizens, we must be focused on national development, unity and other issues that will add value to the well being of Zambians. It is a well known fact that our stay on earth is very finite. The bottom line is that we must be prepared for such eventualities.

  50. #56 you welcome.
#64 it also necessary for us to accept that death is inevitable regardless.

A history of illnesses in a head of state is a cause for serious concern and the state is obliged to put in place measures to tackle eventualities should the worst happen. The illness is a crisis on its own and what has happenned 2day is a sign of unpreparedness and lack of knowledge on what to do coz individual thinkers in govt have been sidelined and most politicians with pea brains are in the fore front of running the state.

  51. #69

Great point! I appreciate it … no one can run away from the fact that this has been of serious concern.

However, in times where one has to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea; one would even jump right into the deep blue sea. When or if he survives, then a thorough review and the needful would have to be done.
I would certainly be amongst the first ones advocating for or making him to step down after he comes out of danger if I had a means.
Otherwise, great analysis …and well noted. People like you make Zambia Sweet Zed indeed!

  52. They is some on who has connections with the media pretending to be a Government official. Who confirmed the news on The Times online. Is it the same person as the South African Radio station.

  53. They is some one who has connections with the media pretending to be a Government official. Who confirmed the news on The Times online. Is it the same person as the South African Radio station.

  54. People..people…this morning we were all in limbo about whether LPM was dead or alive..now some are already saying he is not fit to govern Zambia..with the right therapy I have seen many people come back from a massive stroke..besides while he is taking it easy maybe it is time some of the incompetant *****s around tried to do a better job and take some pressure off him!!!..STARTING WITH MULONGOTI!!!

  55. I think politicians are moving assets as we speculate. This has attributed to the depreciation of the kwacha today. The real status on our head of state wil be made on Saturday or Sunday?

  56. Hear, I say, (I who love Levy and value life). The people who cooked the story that he is dead are all over and that’s why some fools say that it’s been broadcast in France, USA, RSA, UK and China: Some are even blogging here, they belong to such groups as these: power Hungary ones( MMD & the opposition), RSA, Zimbabwe, plunderers

  57. The Presidents reign has been so stressful because the MMD is behind in delivery the promises that were promised in 1991 by Mr Chiluba and so when the President thinks of that,it takes a toll on him.
Also the President cant understand Why Zimbabwe should overtake Zambia’s Poverty when it was a great African Basket. That again is taking a toll on him.
I didnt see how anyone taking over from the former president can do a Good job ruling when so many people have been so broken hearted with the ruling partys work.

  58. Cont’d..Levy is good and alive, he hates corruption and stealing no wonder the evil doers would wish him dead but God will keep him alive. I urge all good people to continue praying. Some people say he appoints relatives but who wouldn’t? Every President would need some loyal people around him regardless of …. I don’t care about that, as long as he cleans Zambia of corruption and sealing, and drive us into a Zambia of middle class economy.May God who heals all disease heal him, so indeed, by his stripes he’ll be healed, as nothing is impossible with God! He gives longer life to good people. God is good all the time and Levy is good too.

  59. My theory on this issue is that the rumor was generated by white extremists based in South Africa to discredit Thabo Mbeki and the black South African government. The have used this event to create division and hate and to make black africans look unprofessional so that the 2010 world cup can be moved to another country outside Africa amongst other things. I think there is a scheme to bring south africa to its knees for political reasons. Its like this group is getting back at black south africans by any means neccesary. Even the xenophobic attacks could have been fueled by them together with the killing of lucky dube. BUT all this is just my theory, these are NOT facts, just my opinion.

  60. Let us also not forget how AIDS has killed so many people particularly in Southern Africa and how that came to be, why Southern Africa and not West Africa which has a much higher population? Could it be about the battle for Southern Africa which has carried on directly and indirectly? Again just my opinions.

  61. Our fellow Zambian Patriots,

Wherever you are and whatever you are doing steadfastly during this defining moment in our National calender, continue making fervent prayers with love and commitment for the Head of state and the Country.Heed this, “President Mwanawasa is alive but still in critical condition in the ICU”.The used stable condition by GRZ means he has progressed from the dangerous comatose he arrived in France, but the BP and effects of the hemorrhage he suffered are still of serious concern. With our intensified prayers, God’s hands may deliver an answer. We need our Head of state back home.

  62. Heed this, “President Mwanawasa is alive but still in critical condition in the ICU”.The used stable condition by GRZ means he has progressed from the dangerous comatose he arrived in France, but the BP and effects of the hemorrhage he suffered are still of serious concern. With our intensified prayers, God’s hands may deliver an answer. We need our Head of state back home.

  63. 78 you want to blame everything on the white man. what good are the black africans then when kwing everithing happens when the white men actions. you need to get a life. this thinking will get africa nowhere. an ant must have died in the african bush somewhere today…. do think that is the white mens doin? cummon!!!

  64. Zed people let us just continue praying for his health… The almighty GOD is in control and Levy will be back with a bang to continue with his national duties period!

  65. yyyyyyy.Let’s kip on kiping on praying Levy gona fine.God is Faithfuly and in control.wish Levy a Quick recover

  66. The malicious report of death was a reckless conspiracy by enemies of humanity that bears heavy liability in the international legal and security systems.Every action has liabilities and foot prints.

  67. whoever was in charge of serving the water at AU mixed up Mr Levy’s water with Mugabes. Or Maybe Mugabe’s People were suspicious and did not mean no harm but they swaped the water. Everyone is saying there own thing, so i might as well add that in, because really who knows, its likely to be the case, why hasnt anyone looked into that! never rule out the possiblity of anything!

  68. What is this nonsense I am reading??? You don’t want us leaders to take a nap? If you see us in bed, then ninshi twafwa? You boys stop envying on my Maureen, I can see you start “..muka yama inchitu chintu umwene”. I won’t sleep for next 2 days, mwachilamo umwenso.

  69. The Hôpital d’instruction des armées Percy or HIA Percy (meaning “Percy Training Hospital of the Armies”) is a military hospital in Clamart, near Paris, France. It is managed by the health services of the Armies and provides health services to both military and civilian patients.

It has, in particular, an emergency service, a service for treating severe burns, and a service for treating patients contaminated by radioactivity (including a hematological service).

  70. Yasser Arafat was treated at Percy hospital from October 29, 2004 to his death on November 11, 2004, after being transported there on in an emergency; during his stay at Percy, he fell into an increasingly deeper coma despite intensive care. Bassel Fleihan, a Lebanese legislator and Minister of Economy and Commerce was treated at Percy for major burns. He eventually died having burns on 95% of his body sustained when a massive bomb exploded on the Beirut seafront as he passed by in former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik al-Hariri’s motorcade on February 14, 2005. Despite being seated beside Hariri when the explosion occurred, Fleihan lived through the attack. Fleihan was airlifted to Percy

  71. where he survived for 64 days before finally succumbing to his injuries. If its going to happen then it will happen sooner or later. MMD ougth to start making a plan. Infact they shouold have one right now and implement it. Hope or no hope, remember that Its in the heavens hands, and history does not favour us right now. so we ought to be realistic about the situation.

  72. Fellow Zambian, country men and women. I’m suddened to hear of these malicious media reports about my life. The Doctors. here are doing a remarkable job. They have allowed me to address the nation from my bed using this forum. God is on my side and I still have 2 and half yrs to finish my tenure of office. But If I happen to die, God will take care of Zambia by providing a credible leader who will continue to fight graft in public office and bring to book all law breakers. I love my country and I will continue to serve the country till my last breath even in my ICU bed I’m still President. Those wishing me dead will never ascend to plot 1. I thank you all for your prayers and words of hope.

  73. 95- THAT IS NOT A GOOD THING TO DO. WHY WOULD, INFACT WHY SHOULD THE PRESIDENT ADDRESS THE NATION THROUGH THIS BLOG?!? GET SERIOUS! IF I KNEW WHO YOU WERE I WOULD DO MY BEST TO MAKE SURE YOU DIDNT LIVE ANOTHER DAY!

  74. Imwe bantu, why not just mind your own business and let the doctors in Paris do their work and they will inform the approprite authorities and family of LPM to inform us on the progress wether good or bad news. Let us just be prepared for such events. All of us are subject to death.

  75. Iwe # 95. Lesa ni mayotola, stop silly jokes. That name, especially Patrick, is so important that you can’t use it in you useless KalingalingaTimes. Leave us leader alone.

  76. I find it highly irresponsible for a Head of State to make such an irresponsible statement on another Head of State over a serious matter like death without verifying from the”bereaved” government. Mbeki should have waited for an official statement from the Zambian Government. This only shows how quickly Mbeki wants our President out of the way. SHAME MBEKI. LONG LIVE LPM.

  77. From 93 I gather that most people moved to Percy hospital nmever returned . Better to quickly transfer levy to another hospital if he is improving!!

  78. Being in a critical condition implies near death or can be death in political. The govt of Zed,just like African traditional leaders would not be quick to announce the death of the head of state/king. Levy could be dead, & so the likes of mulongoti are simply preparing the nation for this news. By the time, they confirm the death, everyone will be ready for the news. This is not new among African leaders. This therefore means that we must prepare for this sad event. It will soon be public. “There is no smoke without fire”. MHSRIP

  79. Whatever the case is, brothers, we need to take into account that this is a serious matter. Levy is our national leader, and whether you love him or not you don`t have have to write as if you are enemies till death do part you. Let us respect what is on the ground and see how we can wish him well together with his family. Sickness in a family is not the best, not even the nation like ours. LPM may not be liked but he is at plot number one, and he deserves respect in this trying moment. Nobody will do this for us, but we the Zeds. Let us pray that this unites us, and seek the face of God on his behalf. We have never had any president die in office or sick to this degree ever since.

  80. We have never had anyone die in office or sick to this degree in our history of a man at plot number one. Therefore, the way we address this should be with caution. For a lot of people are not ready to assimilate such level of information, which might lead to confusion, shock and commotion in the nation. So let us be mature in the way we approach the whole thing. BUT THE BEST FOR NOW IS TO PRAY FOR HIM whatever the situation in Paris. God is counting on us as well. Let us not fail now by alarming the situation. Please act responsibly and compassionately. GOD BLESS LEVY AND HIS FAMILY. We love you with the love of God. Wish you well and soon.

  81. I dont wanna ever deal with the death of a reigning President at all. That has so many consequences believe it or not.
There would be more consequences on our nation if Levy died while reigning than if he died after fully serving his term.
I pray that God heals you and add 14 more years to your life.
There alot of people praying effectual fervent prayers for you and you will be healed in the name of Jesus.
If Levy died while in power that will suck years of development out of this wonderful Godloving peaceful country and just the mindset/attitude of the workforce.

  82. Fellow country men , lets just pray for the president and hope for the best. What ever comes out, we will need a leader with an intergrity like levy.

  83. Indeed God is the sustainer of President Mwanawasa. In God we should trust.Lusaka times blggers use this site with respect. You are not talking about a dog but the life of a President,a president for that matter who under his leadership has brought sanity to Zambian politics.Am not sure where pipo like Chintofwa are based i presume he sweeps some toilets in London and his wife is a nurse in a nursing home while degree his are gathering rust.May God deal with you for luck of slightest grain of empathy in your dagga filled brain.

  84. Pips! they are a million other Zambians that have spent the entire night blogging in the hope for some information. Security reasons or not! We are not children, we need to know the truth. Its easy to say lets wait when you are a thousand miles away from home but for those of us who are here, its hard for life to go on as normal. Everythig is in limbo – how can we get up and go for work facing such a pottential disaster?? Information is power – blind prayer won’t get us anywhere. First facts and then we pray. We need mature politicians who can steer this nation forward not opptunists who are merely worried about where thier bread and butter will come from. Shame

  85. North West Analyst, Chintomfwa is entitled to his own opinion, you dont need to disrespet him cause that only puts you at the same level with him. We are all on separate Journeys on this earth and have a responsibility to our own belief systems. LPM was or is a man like everyone else and thus is fallible. Some people will love him and others will despise him – thats LIFE. Your kind of talk does not embrace a prayerful nature or diversity – comrades, lets drop this holier than thou attitude cause it sucks! None of us is God to judge. It says in the bible that “he who is without sin to cast the first stone” am no angel – niether are you – so, respect others.

  86. Hey, you guys who have spent the whole night searching to comfirm the bad news, despite being told first hand from the bed side, why dont you for sometime ‘swallow your saliva’-be patient, and at least hope for the best. Is it because we are so much used to bad news that we are sad when there is no such news! Things have been clarified, what more do you want. lets recieve the updates as they come, then we can comment, and humanly so, let us not treat the sick person as a “thing”, this tells a lot as to why we are even failing to take care of old people including our own parents,b’coz of the notion that they are expired. If it comes to the worst, ‘pafwa bantu-pashala bantu.

  87. mulongoti gaves us the general pespective on the president’s condition, now we need specifics preferably from doctors attending to the president on the chances of him making a full recovery and maintaining all faculties necessary to lead zambia. we as zambians need to be ready for the worst. mulongoti dont keep us in suspence he is our president however zambia needs to move with/without him.

  88. I dont understand how and where President Mbeki got the misleading news and went on to announce it to the country. You remember a few weeks ago LPM was disappointed by Mbeki not giving him feedback when he met Mugabe as mediator.Mbeki’s attitude had deppened his already erroded trust from the people of Africa. Zambia lets pray that the GOD and Abraham,Isaac and Jacob heal our President. i would love the VEEP to call for 7 days of prayer and fasting so we can cry to our LORD. GOD BLESS ZAMBIA

  89. Ok now no more stiput comments let me see anyone writing any foolish comment l will get you. And l know how to do it you will be very sad by the end of the day.

  90. #102. Spot on. I believe as well after the prayers they had, they had to have more info to the truth. That is part of preparing the nation.
As Sad as it may be Mbeki got first hand info. why would he be fed false info.
ICU means is most cases, machine aided breathing!
Death will be upon us one day , no use for being in denail!

  91. Gentlemen, why do we have to debate on the condition of mortal man?If the President is alive then we will see him again and if not then we will put him to rest like anybody else.God said “Adam, from the time you will eat from the tree of knowledge, shall postively die”.

  92. Here are some facts. Levy’s death has been reported in many countries around the world. They all seem to quote the same source as “Comission spokesman, Malone Zaza” Does anyone know this person? Is this [email protected]? Perhaps someone could email him.The French Military hospital has refused to confirm or deny even Levy’s presence there
Someone else on this blog is calling himself Ex-Zambian. There should be a system whereby once a name is taken, no-one else can use it.

  93. Yaba but abena doctor paliba insele ati stanyoko….hahaha. Doctor!
On a serious note ladies n gentlemen its a sheer waste of time debating all this. Many a time your wishes and plans are not God’s plan. Therefore come what may let us just look forward and forge right ahead. Our system as in govt and indeed the people being a democratic nation we are is under test. Lets face it

  94. i think people are us wishin him dead! this is nonsense if i may say so myself! i have reliable resources…he is very much alive…and those who are talkin of apointing relatives, pliz do u kno how many people are in his family? some of u are jus talkin not knowin ure a relation anyway THANK GOD HE IS ALIVE AND MAY GOD BE BY HIS SIDE FOR MORE HEALING

  95. Mugabe ali lowa bamudala ba Mwanawasa he was due to sit next to him if bwanga fyachilamo. But cabbage ni cabbage taifwa bwangu alabwela mudala to continue his work as Zambia,s president get well Levy
    We love you

  96. Having had almost a sleepless nite trying to get info from zed and other sources, i realize how unprepared zedians are towards calamities and also how poor information dissemination is. So pathetic that i pity LPM coz those surrounding him are the ones who are busy killing him by keeping silent over an important issue. The best i bet now is to hear from either minke or rupiah and not france 24 or any other source.
let GOD take his course for he is the originator and sustainer of life.

  97. chintomfwa ulishilu en a devil at the same time.r u from indian ocean?those satanists your brothers who sent u to wish en take LPM’s life,go tell them that he is washed in da blood of da ALMIGHT en its not possible this time maybe in the next century!go hang yourslf if u’ve less to do!LPM IS ALIVE PIPO EN BREATHIN! BELIEVE IT

  98. The main headline in the post is ‘ The President is very much alive – Maureen’. Ba Levy is alive if the wife can say that. But she agrees that he is quite sick and is making hopeful progress. Let us just continue praying for the best.

  99. #125 vmk — do u live in this wold or u have your world of illusions? I feel so sorry for you when you find yourself alone come tomorrow. MHSRIP.

  100. This time we as Zambians should elect Maurene Mwanawasa as republican president. She is the only person in Zambia so far with presidential qualitities as exbited so far.I rate her on 65%, Sata – 30% whilst HH – 5% in terms of presidential qualities.Or let us elect Shikapwasa. He too has some qualities……..cimona caakwe.

  101. GOODMORNIN EVERY ONE
I JUST TOOK TIME TO READ ALL YOUR COMMENTS SOME STUPID AND SOME CONSTRUCTIVE ITS ACTUALLY SAD THAT PEOPLE IN ZAMBIA ARE DIVIDED
AT SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME WHEN HERE IN THE WESTERN WORLD WE ARE WORRIED AND PRAYING THAT THE PRESIDENT OF ZAMBIA MAKES YET ANOTHER DAY BE UNITED BECAUSE
    “UNITED WE STAND” and
    “DIVIDED WE FALL”
    QUICK RECOVERY TO THE PRESIDENT

  102. Some pipo still amaze me!!! They ask for the truth. GRZ who have hotline to France comes on the scene and tell us that the LPM is Alive and Breathing… And also the First Lady.. echos the same.

Yet we still have ‘Biblical Duobting Thomas’..who want to walk into the france military ICU …and touch the Presido, check the temperature, blood-pressure, read the dignosis and medicine the LMP is taking…ONLY then are they going to be convinced.

My message to you is grow and accept that they’re channels of communication in Govmt. In this case only GRZ have credible and reliable information. The rest are rumours.

  103. ps:VMK EN CHINTOMFWA.
Plz go en sign up on MSN instead of u guys insultin eachotha en sayin rubbish aite! Lets js pray 2da almight God 2heal our father.Guyz get a life en grow up..LPM GOD BLESS U!

  104. Bafi.ka.la lekeni fye uku blogger and just go to work. Or if you are unemployed do something constructive.

  105. Now Every one get this stuck in your thick heads. Whether you like it or yes the president is alive. You got that? He is alive thick heads!!

  106. Quick recovery Mr.President.
We are all praying for U.And please have some good rest.Yr duty is too stressful for yr condition

  107. Now as Ihave said #133, this thing shud stop. Stop blogging you’ve heard and therefore concentrate on something else now.

  108. For disturbing rumours by the media,i think we better leave Mr.Mulongoti to keep us upated since he himself as anaerial (mulongoti) has the best to offer to the Zambian public.
Lets avoid unfounded comments.PRAYER PATSOGOLO:TIYENDE PAMODZI NDIMTIMA UMODZI

  109. LUSAKA TIMES, its high time you got serious and stop *****s like CHITOMFWA and RELIABLE to publish Nonsense or Rubish through your WEBSITE. You risk being deregistered if you will not put in measures to allow sanity on your site. Mind you the law is JUST BY YOUR DOOR STEP.
We know that guys like Chitonfwa and Reliable are BEMBA Cowards who are being used. For your own information, you will never be accorded another chance to rule Zambia again. We know who you are,Foolish. FRANCE

    President Levy Mwanawasa

    By Vision Reporter and Agencies

THE mistaken reports of the death of the Zambia President Levy Mwanawasa caused confusion with the Ugandan Parliament prematurely observing a moment of silence for him.

As the Zambian government was denying the death reports in Lusaka, Uganda’s deputy Speaker Rebecca Kadaga asked the MPs to observe a moment of silence over Mwanawasa’s death.

“Before we adjourned for lunch break, I had received information that President Levy Mwanawasa had died. During the break I confirmed the news. Let us stand up and observe a moment of silence in his honour,” said Kadaga as the Parlia

  111. Fellow country men, we have bloged alot and it seems like we are not going anywhere with our comments. But it’s a good idea since any of us knows the trueful and whats’ going on with the president. Our Zambian GVT sucks for not providing any updates with Levy so that we can know whats up. There some many Zambians all over the world far away from home and they are concerned about the state of the president. We have to blame the top dogs in gvt for not informing the nation with proper info and we all want to know the trueful and health condition of the president. Evantually, THE TRUEFUL WILL COME OUT SOON, DEAD OR HE IS ALIVE!!! VIVA ZED WITH OR WITHOUT HIM, WE WILL STAND STRONG,LET’S UNITE LM

  112. Chitonfwe try to sign in on fanbox, msn or something man coz u wastin your time here, this aint just for u!LPM WE LOVE U EN U HAVE OUR SUPPORT!MAY THE GOOD LORD SEE YOU THRU!

  113. Lusaka Times can you remove this topic from your website. its a pity you dont even sensor the comments on this site. Please remove this topic from the website.

  114. Wonder why the South Africans so much want Levy dead. He will pull through. He is a fighter so those baboons can just forget!!!

  115. Iwe mulozi – you think Mulongoti is a reliable source?? Come on – get real! We want a blow by blow account. When Sharon was taken ill – we even saw the inside of the hospital and his cabinet immiediatelty put in a contigency plan that was announced to the WORLD! Whats wrong with us Zambiana? Must we leave everything to chance?? It’s good that Sata says he’s going to France to visit LPM – maybe then he can tell the nation the truth. These packs of hungry hyenas are not looking at National interest, they are just worried about where their next meal is going to come from. Sick!

  116. #143 and other, stop behaving like typical Africans. Sensorship is a refuge of tyrants. Let freedom of speech reign!

  117. It was careless and stupid of thabo mbeki to announce such information. we have seen on the part that zambia is surrounded by enemies mbeki and mugabe and would delight in such information. that is why he quickly announced that. for national security and to prepare the nation learn to live in denial cause with your comments some of you, you dont care of the implications it will have on fellow zambians back home cause you dont leave there anymore.
its not about having exclusive information but if someone is sure of their information about our president apart from what you geting from the media, you are welcome to inform us
concern zambians this is a time to pray for zambia

  118. Chintomfwa for president. Ba Doctor is just reading from a medical text book or internet. These are the people who have been treating LPM. Not all bleeds are due to berry aneurysms. atherosclerotic changes due to various conditions including Diabetis which LPM has can lead to bleeds.

  119. Mwanawasa should think of stepping down wen he comes back to zambia,if he takes that step he would have set a good example to some power hungry leaders in Africa eg Robert Gabriel Mugabe.Yoweri Museveni and Gaddafi.

  120. Tamwakamulowe atmwaka mukwanishe ali fisama muli bayawe. Pipo stop this yo yaping. Lets just pray 4 Lpm 2 be ok moreover we are the ones to suffer if anything was going to happen. We serve a mighty God he wil stretch his healing hand upon the president. Have faith people.

  121. AFROCENTRIC, I did not know that you are such a big fool. What has Sata’s visit got to do with LPM’s condition ? When that old man visits LPM, what difference is it going to make ? Listen, you are the only fool who thinks that Mr Sata is the only person who tells the truth IN Zambia simply because you want to continue practising tribalism. Mr Sata is not the spokesman for Zambia okey! Who doesnt know that old Sata is not visiting LPM in good faith ? You bemba’s whats wrong with you ? You will not rule us again. FRANCE

  122. “These just no smoke without fire” The information about Mwanawasa death must have come from somebody and somewhere. It just doesn’t make sense that information like this “pops” up and gets its way into the media. If Mwanawasa is alive, then that is definitely good news, but we need to be informed who, where and how such bad information come from.

  123. it 2am kuno. naya mukulala. i will check about LPM ngabwacha. hope to find fresh data better than aya ama rubbish. nanaka naya. atase ba lusakatimes, leteni data eya fresh!!!!!!!!!!!

  124. A brain haemorrhage is bleeding in or around the brain. It may be caused by a traumatic brain injury (TBI), or may happen spontaneously. There are four types of haemorrhage, named according to where in the brain the bleeding occurs. These are: subdural haemorrhage, extradural haemorrhage, subarachnoid haemorrhage and intracerebral haemorrhage.

Subdural and extradural haemorrhages are the most common type after TBI, and they are a cause of further brain damage that can lead to more long-term effects. Symptoms can develop rapidly or can take a number of weeks or months to develop, and urgent investigation and treatment is required.

Subarachnoid and intracerebral haemorrhages are more l

  125. its 2am kuno. naya mukulala. i will check about LPM ngabwacha. hope to find fresh data better than aya ama rubbish. nanaka naya. atase ba lusakatimes, leteni data eya fresh!!!!!!!!!!!

  126. #128 you think like tentamashimba.
#153 dont look at tribe look at quality. We need quality people to lead us not just bodies. People who can think.

  127. Zambian President Levy Mwanawasa has died in a Paris hospital after suffering a stroke earlier this week, according to South African radioTalk Radio 702 quoted a Zambian High Commission spokesman with the news although there was no immediate comment from officials in Lusaka.

Mr Mwanawasa, 59, an outspoken critic of Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe, was rushed to hospital on Sunday in the Egyptian resort of Sharm el Sheikh.

He had suffered a stroke just before the two-day African Union summit and was later transferred to Paris for treatment.

High Commission spokesman Malone Zaza told the radio station: “He passed on this morning.”

Mr Mwanawasa chaired the Southern African Developm

  128. Anybody with latest info. out there? No rumours please! I’ve tried to check the Post & Times of Z. but nothing new. Guys, I’m getting worried. I love my country so much and wouldn’t want some evil minds to utilise this situation of suspense to distabilise peace back home. You know what I mean.
LT keep us UPDATED please!!! The country and it’s citizens won’t function properly until we know the facts.

  129. Mu soli mutanshi you man has truely become a cabbage. The family tree has crumbled. It is now the turn of HH to rule. LPM and co were laughing to our mazoka God has visited him

  130. Mu Soli Mutanshi or whatever your name is – dont be myopic!! Who said Sata is the only one who tells the truth?? I was refering to the current with holding of information that WE Zambian citizens are entitled to. If it takes Sata to demystify this nonsense then why not?? There’s a conspiracy here and the truth needs to be told!! We are the voters!! Viva transparency!
PS: No need to get testy here mwana – niwebo direct beneficiary of this silence – be mature!

  131. The post seems to have some data in that they’ve asked the nation to prepare for the worst. Well, could it be that the know something we don’t know, maybe its a question of timing!!!

  132. Att: #139 Mu Soli Mutanshi, u ***** who voted u to be a moral police. Don’t you have nothing to say? Just give these time wasters something to read other than passing silly comments on my postings. I’ll post as I please, its not meant for u to read. The next time u see my posting just skip it. Am not Bemba, by the way. U see how foolish u are in your own self-righteous world.

  133. #153, why are you so emotionaly backwards-still talking about tribalism this time. Am not bemba but such rhetoric is unwarranted. Zambia needs a good and patriotic Zambian to hold the office of the president whether bemba after bemba after bemba. wake up. every one is entitled to his/her opinion and so dont call people fools. They have as much right to express their opinions as you.

  134. #161- I’m reliably informed that the situation is peaceful back home. All systems (i guess you know what i mean) are in place what ever happens. So stay back n relax a bit like me n be productive today unlike the way we were yesterday.

  135. Hey guys, I don’t mean to be egoccentric on this forum but let me share something personal, from a believer’s point of view.
Following the confusion surrounding our president’s condition, my sleep was unpleasant last night despite praying before going to bed. When I woke up this morning, I openned the scriptures and read the chapter for today (I always read a chapter a day). It is Psalm 78 and my heart almost stood still on verse 39b which says: “…they are but flesh. A wind that passeth away and cometh not again.”
Men of God, how would you interpret this?

  136. Ba Thabo Mbeki was yesterday in the fore front calling for a moment of silence to show respect for Mwanawasa during their celebratrions what ever the event was.Bane bushe Kwena how can a responsible person do that without even getting the reality on the ground.Something fishy is going on, its either Mulongoti is playing with our brains or the outside media is trying to make money on this news.Chi #95 who ever you are please this is no time for jokes, styleup before I trace you.

  137. #78 – 79

I like your theory and anybody who rules out anything is limiting their thinking. What most people don’t understand is that there are A LOT of conspiracies out there in this world and most of them have not been solved to this day while others go unnoticed at all. There are many examples that support this view. This has nothing to do with blaming everything on the white man. There are some good white people just like anyother race and there are some extremists too, this is a fact.

  138. Ladies and Gentlemen, Spare the fool mu soli mutanshi. He has just seen his family tree crumble. The soup he/she used to enjoy i State house is no more. Ma kani ya maana

  139. AFROCENTRIC, If iam myopic then i dont know what you are because you clearly said” may be Sata will tell us the truth” after going to France. Listen once more, Sata is not the only person who tells the truth. There are alot of credible men in Zambia who can do that. Tell me what Authority is Sata going to use to address the Nation over this matter. So it is right for you to talk about the family tree. Which family tree do you mean ? I know who owns this WEBSITE and i have all the details on your syndicate okey ? I have the right to express my opinion and who are you to educate me ? Iam on you Bemba’s and you will feel my wait. FRANCE

  140. There are times for everything under heaven. Please let’s stand with one voice and pray for our dear leader. Death is always a painful thing.

To our President God is on the throne! ” I pray that in the Name of Jesus be healed!”

  141. It appears some people are so mad this morning..I’m inclined to think some colleagues missed breakfast..beacuse they say a hungry man is dangerous.

My advise; Have a positive attitude on things..LPM Health, Zed politics, economy, social issue, Chuch .. and you will be successful in life. Why hate Bembas, Tongas Lozis and and so. You even want to fight virtual people on the net. Come-on guys let’s have the Obama ‘YES we can attidute’.

  142. # 169, my friend forget about ignorant #95, he seems to be bored…he should well that the president wouldnt choose to use this forum to address as as a fisrt poin of contact after this incident…infact if he was to address us, probably the first lady or the unreliable and incompitent Mikey would have done so…..Dull #95
I wish the president well…and pray for the zambian people, including i for wisdom and guidance

  143. #150 Haantobolo — Thank you very much. You are one of the very few that know what the hell is going on. Smart man you are. LPM is not even a “cabbage” anymore but the late. Believe it or not. Again as I said earlier I have INSIDE INFORMATION.
    Haantobolo I owe you u a budweiser …..

  144. #150 Haantobolo — Thank you very much. You are one of the very few that know what the hell is going on. Smart man you are. LPM is not even a “cabbage” anymore but the late. Believe it or not. Again as I said earlier I have INSIDE INFORMATION.
Haantobolo I owe you u a budweiser at the funeral next week.

  145. #153 Ulimbwa sana! Why bring tribal when every tribe will affected if Levy dies! Have some life and dont just buck like a bulldog! We are discuss a life of a presdo of zed not your Lenje tribe here. Here in kasama we are on our kneels praying for our presdo not a lenje! MUSULA OBE!

  146. AFROCENTRIC, You can not teach me about one Zambia One nation, because i taught you at school. Iam very disappointed that you can stand and say, Only this one can tell us the truth. Why have you become Shallow minded ? You were not like that at school. If you checked my earlier postings, i was advocating for the positive use of this site and not the nonsense you brought out. Reason straight fellow. How do you celebrate someones illness ? Foolish Afrocentric, and when we talk you want to bring family tree issues ? Let others talk because you are so disgusting.

  147. A history of illnesses in a head of state is a cause for serious concern and the state is obliged to put in place measures to tackle eventualities should the worst happen. This illness is a crisis on its own and what came from the media shows the level of unpreparedness and lack of knowledge on what to do by GRZ coz individual thinkers in govt have been sidelined and most politicians with pea brains are in the fore front of running the state.

  148. #142 vmk — I’m not going to waste my time signing up on childish blogs. Sorry but I have to stick right here at least for now.

  149. I know that Malone Zaza. the guy used to supply second hand laptops i zed. am sure he made some cash off the story he cooked up. dont trust exes, thats wat u get.
We need Levy alive coz he owes us a new constitution.Never knew we loved LPM so much for the whole nation to be concerned.
Hope puppets like mulongoti are sayin the truth.bootlickers lyk tenta n other corrupt guys aint gonna rule in zed.
The editorial in the Gost or is it Post was straight to the point, bravo.
    get well soon levy.

  150. I’m distrurbed in this part of the world where I’m living. I’m the only Zambian and I love the President. Now advise me. Messages of condolences over the death of His Excellency Levy Patrick Mwanawasa SC, have been pouring on my head as if I’m an ambassodor. I find it difficult to say “thank you” as that implies accepting that he really died. At the same time, when one is sympathasing with you and you say, “No it is not true” shows that you are not with them. What should I do in this case?
I tried to keep quiet but some fellows want acknowledgement. Please advise. If I deny and then it is confirmed, I will look like a fool.

  151. #187, please be informed that the president is STILL ALIVE. Everyone in Zambia knows that, we are being updated by govt (though not frequently enough!!), and as of this morning he was still alive. SO you can stop receiving those condolences

  152. There is no piont in blaming others about what has befallen us. People have blamed Mugabe, Mbeki, the Western world. What have all these pipo got to do with LPM’s illness?? I am quite disappointed coz I thot as Zambians we were quite mature in our christianity but what is exhibited here is contrary. The problem here is the Zambian Government who are slow to move and put things straight. All other pipo are hearing this from some source and hope the GRZ to clear the air by giving accurate infor. Why can’t we have Chituwo give a statement cos he is on the spot. Let us be objective about this, coz what beats me is why France 24 would get a report from South Africa about a patient in their …..

  153. Please let Mr sata go and see for himself, cause we need a new GRZ.We used to to tell him to go for any sport, but the man just wanted to eat and fight corruption.Call Mr chungu to come back.

  154. No. 183 – You are floating in a myriad of confusion. Shame dude! Chintomfwa, please try and pump some sense into this chap – even better, get him a budweiser too. Mwana, we cannot continue with this useless flow of conversation, I will let you wallow in your ignorance. Your lofty psycho social perceptions are nothing but mere utopia. Please desist from spreading this plague you are infected with called ingnorance. Its worse than the black death!! Mune, denial will get you every where but home… Relax!!

  155. Unleash
#173 Pliz stop this bemba – bemba thing.this just show how primitive your generatic background is.Go to hell with you tribalistic opinions.

  156. …country and air it without verifying it. Logic here points to the worst. Pipo who are saying LPM is dead do not necessarily wish him dead at all, it just that as mortals that is our end and it is possible that it could be the case wit our leader right now. It also does not mean with the passing of Levy then we should be distabilised as a nation, we just close this chapter and move on. Lets stop the finger pointing and be realistic.

  157. #173 Pliz stop this bemba – bemba thing.this just show how primitive your generatic background is.Go to hell with you tribalistic opinions.

  158. Tribalism..in this day and age…eyimwe mwendoshi…u dont vote for someone just coz of their tribe….As long as some one is Zambian,s/he has good policies and has proved in his doings that he can lead a country then we can vote for him…U not gonna put a fool in power just because he comes from your village…..U pathetic ignorant chap….Bemba,Lunda,Lozi,Tonga…….infact BA LPM is not even Bemba…

  159. This issue of tribe is just useless. Some of us can’t even speak our mother tongue, so we should just embrance the ‘one Zambia, One Nation’ motto. I think we should reach a stage were Martin Lurther’s dream of not judging someone by his colour/creed/tribe should quickly come to mother Zambia. I’m Ila but don’t know how to speak the language but I’m quite fluent in Bemba and Nyanja. Lets try to leave above the tribal issues. By someone being bemba or tonga doesn’t make them more Zambian either. Let us debate as Zambians not as bemba’s or whatever!!!!!!!

  160. “We have a government based on our law, which is the constitution of Zambia. We have a vice president and a cabinet and in the absence of the president of course before he left the country he delegated to his vice president what he wanted done. And all his ministers are in place they will know their portfolios and at the end of the day the civil service is in operation. So, all is going well except that we miss the presence of our president,” Mulongoti noted.

Be blessed all you Zambians wherever you are and prosper in whatever you are doing.

  161. i dont know why the issue was not fully comfirmed before published, i hope imformation to all people in zambia can be improved form now onwards. thats why we have the media to inform people about what is going on and not to depend on hear say. why do we have radios and tvs? lets improve bane!!

  162. #197 source is h t t p : / / voanews . com / english / Africa / 2008-07-04-voa2 . cfm

  163. Some remarks from our people here bring shame to our country. Why keep on stupidly saying the President is dead when he’s not,you may be in France and claim you have inside information but that is absolute rubbish, the President is still alive but seriously ill,to hell with your inside information coz you don’t have it.Get it right now,HE Levy Patrick Mwanawasa is still alive but seriously ill, let’s put aside tribal talk and political crap away and just hope for the best for our country, there are laid down rules in case the President dies or is incapacitated and unable to carry on working so there is no need to get into a frenzy and preach tribalism and hate!

  164. Afrocentric, Unleash, Ako, and The One. If you guys dont have positive contributions to make, then stay away from this Website because you are wasting other peoples precious time. All your postings if clearly checked are inclined to one group of characters who took Zambia 30 years backwards because of being thieves, corrupt and plunderers. I think Musoli mutanshi had a point. For sure, we know all of you and we shall not allow you to come back because you spoiled your chance and our resources. Anonymous, You have the guts to call your fellow human being a DOG, Then what are you. Only dogs know their fellow dogs. Indeed you are shallow minded. MPULUNGU

  165. 173- Mu Soli Munthanshi. You are not even ashamed of exposing your stupidity and barbaric thinking in your goddam brain.

First go to Chongwe, ask your fellow tribesman who were working for what could have been the biggest investment in Chongwe called Chilibwe Copper Mines. They are now jobless. Why? The Royal Highess closed the mine and warned all villagers not give or sale any land to this investor.

This created employment in Chongwwe and paid taxes to ZRA.

Its because of your stance that your own brothers will continue to be spectators in the sramble for Lusaka. Dont forget Lusaka itself belongs to you but merely you pronouncing that you are Soli wont take anywhere.

  166. m supprised at Ze Capital’s comments…are sure u understand my point or you just want to confirm your ignorance….m saying we dont need tribal politics and u say thats wasting time…so u wud rather see your tribes man in power even if he is dul and incapable of running a nation…i see where u got it wrong..the listed tribes in my earlier staement dont mean to insult those tribes..my friend what i was saying is that u can be from any tribe and as long as your policies and doings are right we will put u in power…get me

  167. staying in france does not guarantee that you know what is happening. LPM is in a millitary facility so access is seriously limited i dont think you can even reach the gate.i will agree with you though the president may not be capable of ruling the country just by the look of things.

  168. And for once lets stop speculating..lets wait for the people in charge of informing us to do so…that is Mikey and the other government officials or LPM’s family spokesman..Forcus on important things…most of you are wishing him death in your hearts….wish the man good health even if u dont like him…Wud u rather have some one like Mugabe…be thankful that u even have LPM for president…

  169. all of you who are busy insulating and talking nonsence, can you plz leave this site in one peace. We do not need sensless ideas!!!!!!!
let us use this time wisely by praying for lpm and incase he will not be bale to work, let us share ideas on who we think should be the best candidate.
share your ideas in a more diplomatic way let us also respect other peoples ideas.
    LPM is alive!!!!!!!!

  170. Mwanawasa is alive and people should grow up or better still act mature. Its not nice making jokes on our presidents becoz this aint a laughing matter.Losing a president is not sumthing people should joke about becoz it would cost us our lives. Do u want to xperience what the zimbabweans have ben going through?? Kiling and burning eacother in the name of a fair government? Cum on guys, lets just pray and ask God to heal Levy and bring him home to ZED.Remember, one zambia, one nation!

    Kitkat

  171. I am a journalist, if Levy dies, the media in France will pick it up. For what reasons would the government hide the death of Levy? In journalism it all about being fast and being first to break the news. That is why Reuters carried a story quoting the station, which turned up not to be true, in terms of journalism, this is a big blunder on their part. But that is journalism, how many times have you heard reports of Castro or Osama dying? Many times, what you do after a blunder is that you retract the story. Reuters is one of the biggest news agencies in the world, what do u expect if they run a story?

  172. Ba chintofwa bushe mwalishiba blogging? What is this nonsense you are talking about removing some bloggers and sensoring. Fyakale ifyo. This is not times or daily mail were you sensor people. This freedom of expresion, THATS IF YOU BELIEVE IN IT. We no longer need democracy on paper or sermons this what it is.
Some old fashioned democrates are even saying trace IP addresses, for waht?. Face the reality of freedom of expression, unless in zambia freedon of expression has got limits.

  173. No. 201 aka Ze Capital – you embarrass me! Mwana, am not even bemba! How pathetic is that?? How do you assume that am bemba? am a concerned citizen and that should be enough!! This site is for free thinkers – not dullards! Go get sum lunch or supper – whatever!!

  174. Survey: Lets do something constructive. How many say if Levy makes it, he should continue? (1)
    2. How many say, he should step down and who would you suggest should take over from him?
    3. Which opposition party leader would you want to be the next president? Lets have a constructive debates, not insults. Guys in Z you know better, please respond.

  175. I know Mercy from the University of Namibia, is she not the one who lived in Botswana also?

  176. No. 201 you are a useless tribalist. Just because somebody uses bemba does not mean he or she is one. It just shows the hate you have for it.

  177. 219, I agree, I use Nyanja because I grew up in Lusaka, Bemba because my relatives lived on the Copperbet and I had to learn. Remember those days, pipo from CB only spoke Bemba, with broken English.

  178. It can now be confirmed that discussants on this blog are losing focus, I mean the insults and tribal comments that have erupted since the clarification that Levy is alive, though still very ill.

I agree with #217 that it would be more constructive to asume the worst and begin to debate potential successors. This has also been echoed in todays “The Post” editorial.

  179. We do not even need to know anything Nancy because we know he is dead.
how can people wstupid things about a leader aint they scared?
well it is only true he is dead nothing else.
well we cant say anything else we know the truth en we do not want to be blindfolded anymore.

  180. Our president he is very live mwebantu lets pray for him plz nangu lekeni bamoyo bana mwanawasa batume phone balande kuchalo abantu bofwe ukufima kulibene limbi kuti mwalekako ukubosa pantu ebaliko abomwingo fwako itishika we love you our presidentQuick recovery

  181. Our president he is very live mwebantu lets pray for him plz nangu lekeni bamoyo bana mwanawasa batume phone balande kuchalo abantu bofwe ukufuma kulibene limbi kuti mwalekako ukubosa pantu ebaliko abomwingo fwako itishika we love you our president Quick recovery

  182. #218 , yes she is the one. we used to be together in bots. iwe shidada who told CB chaps spoke broken English. my brother we CB boys had the best education in zed. Zccm was the best company on earth.

  183. People the President is alive but seriously sick. On tribalism, personally when a fellow Zambian asks me what tribe I am, I just say am Zambian full stop. I hate tribalism and tribalists regardless of who they are.

  184. I wish my president quick recovery. I will now check my weight because I know that I am a candidate for high blood pressure. I will make sure that I work hard at training to work on my weight for the sake of my health and my soccer career. Long live LPM.

  185. #226 ZCCM was indeed the best company on earth and a lot of CB natives benefited from that education wise and the standard of living that was created because of it compared to ther parts of the country.

  186. I don’t think it is wise to discuss possible succession as at now #217. Let us wait and see.
We will hear from the medical personal’s recommendations as to whether President LPM SC (Doc) is able to recover nicely to continue with the Presidential stressful job.
For now, let us keep faith that all will be well with our dear leader LPM. Let us strengthen his (LPM’s) family so that they do not approach his bed with sorrowful faces and hearts. LPM is a lawyer who understands the Zambian Constitution even in his bed-position state. Any terrible appearances on the faces of the first family members can cause harm to him (LPM) and us all.
    Medical research indicates ….

  187. 173- Mu Soli Muntanshi. If really you are Tribalist as you claim, pease help you clan members residing in Chongwe and Chalimbana the ex-workers of closed Chilibwe Copper Mines in Chongwe to have the mine reopened.

Go and plead to the Royal Highness Nkomeshya.Maybe she will listen to you being what you claim to be.We need action from you not insults on this blog which dont benefit your clan members.

Otherwise Chongwe despite being the biggest district in Zambia has a relatively least investments in terms of value save Lusaka International Airport ?

  188. Medical research indicates ….that some people die out of fear and not the actual effects of what befalls them like an accident of something.

This is time to show our President LP Mwanawasa that we wish him well and that we are ready to receive him as a person who will continue running our Zambia even if we know that his current and future health state may not allow for this.

    “One Zambia, One Nation.”
“Divided we stad, divided we fall.”

Have a great day you all.

  189. #228 Your english has improved.Your weight must improve otherwise your football career and life is in limbo.

  190. I wonder if some of you writing crap here realise that Mwanawasa is human and just like yourselves has a family and relatives and some of them use computers and can read what you’re writing,do you ever care how hurt everyone is at the moment.Let’s wait to see what happens to the President before we even start saying who will rule,we know for sure Mwanawasa won’t rule as President again after this but patience pays, only God knows ones destiny and there is no need to panick everything is there in white and black in the constitution what happens when a President cannot continue due to death or illness but hold on,the President is still alive alright!

  191. #234, I put the blame on Lusaka Times. I dont know why they cant remove this rubbish from their website. I have no doubt that LT is a kantemba kind of website.

  192. Phew! Thank God that our president is recouperating in the ICU of the Percy clamart hospital though we are not exactly sure what is meant by ‘his condition’? Can someone tell us a bit more info? We need to know for instance if he is in a comma, fed through tubes intravenously or the like? Is he alive i.e talking, able to recognize people extra? In the event that he is commatoze, the Veep must take over the reins of Government ASAP! Governement made a mess of things over the President’s sickness by shying away from the media and updating the world. The world is small so we need to stage manage things a whole lot better and smarter! May the good lord revive and strengthen our LPM.

  193. #222. Why should you annouce that u are in london? Uli wa fake. What we all want is our President to come back alive regardless of where u are. Quick Recovery our President.

  194. #222 So what if you live in London Nancy. To live in London does not mean you know everything ,the truth is that up there with your miserable grey skies you work so hard such that you fail even read a newspaper just make ends meet.

  195. #222 You rely on BBC which has had wrong on Levy so far ,you must read ZNBC TV website for the truth about our beloved ,hardworking President Dr Levy Patrick Mwanawasa.May God grant him full recovery in the name Jesus Christ.Amen

  196. I don`t want to throw myself in debating whether LPM is alive or not because time will be the best answer. What is becoming clear by the day is that chances are slim that LPM will continue being our president.Medical professionals know exacting what`s going on.It`s advisable that the leadership and the nation becomes proactive and not reacting after the fact. Our focus must be navigating the next steps our country should take.Failure to plan is planning to fail.
Rupiah Banda and co seems to be overwhelmed by this trepidation and I would suggest that they co-opt natural and stable men of integrity like General Miyanda in calming the nation down.

  197. I can only wish levy a quick recovery. The only advise i can give him once he recovers is to stepdown. He really needs to rest or else we might lose him.The nature of his job will not permitt him to copntinue as its straneous and requires serious committment.

  198. I’ve kept my counsel too long.

Whether Levy is dead or alive, you’ll be hard-pressed to find an African leader with more spine.

  199. Goomya goomya! Mugabe!! you killed my teacher! you must pay!!! goomya goomya! but not in Zimbabwean Dollars!! goomya goomya!!

  200. # 239, give Nancy a break. i am sure she mentioned her residence so that you could relate to her query.ZNBC TV website is not updated as events unfold that is why it is not so reliable. By the way, isnt your name supposed to be North west Analyst. Because that Analylist seems to be wrong to me.So before you dissect our sister from London may be you should know how to spell your name. JUST A SUGGESTION

  201. imwe if someone stays in LOndon it should not be an issue. why are you jealousy. Ba monk naba North west analyst, get a life.

  202. #245. Don’t attack #239. Its me who brought the issue of residences. I am not in Zambia also just like others on the blog but it is imaterial to mension where u are. Nancy just wanted to show off that she is staying in london. As #239 rightly put it, maybe Nancy just cleans plates in these resturants and she is even on top of the world saying that I am in London. Kwena mwe banakashi mwalikwata problem. You like showing off.

  203. ZNBC website has just updated their site saying LPM is to undergo medical examinations. Help me out people is he being treated for hypertension as ZNBC insists or Effects of a stroke or is it bothe?

  204. #139 U are very immature and foolish. This are the people we are avoiding in this era. Who is interested in tribal talks. Every Zambian is deeply affected by the presidents illness. Get some life fool!

  205. #250 u are very correct. Some fools (e.g. #139) are still leaving in colonial era. This is one zambia one nation. If u are tribal u don’t belong to the zambian community. Anyone can rule zambia as long as he is zambian. We don’t need tribalism in our country. Dr. Kaunda put us together and some stupid guys like #139 wants to divide the country again.

  206. #235 Dont blame your hunger to go on blogging on LT, how many topics are on this blog right now just leave this and go to next one PERIOD.

As long as pipo keep on blogging the top wont end.

  207. Is it any special that someone is in London so that they can show off? I think it is you people attacking Nancy who have a complex. It does not matter where one is right now, what we are simply trying to do is get the facts from people on the ground i.e Zed coz outside here we maynot have a clear picture.

  208. Shidada u call someone a useless tribalist and at the same time do the same thing to CB pipo! Shut %$^& up! You don’t know anything

  209. I am on Earth. Doesn’t make if I am using wireless internet while relaxing in a tree besides my home or office or learning institution.

I could be at some airport or anywhere else, but I am on Earth.

  210. #254, whats the purpose of the UK after your psuedo name? Probably to show everyone where you aheemm…..

  211. #240 There is no way people like Miyanda can be used to calm the nation because there is no crisis.Mike Mulongoti though being an incompetent government spokesperson gave a good answer today regarding what happens now,he said when the President is about to live the country,he gives instructions to his Vice President on what he needs done and that’s exactly what he did so it’s business as usual though everyone is missing our beloved President. The constitution is there, everyone senior leader from government, military, judiciary and civil service know what to do if the President is not returning to office, only time thru God will tell us the destiny for Zambia!

  212. #258, I agree with you, Zed is not a chicken run, we have administrative structures and leaders who are able. Above all God is on our side, and nothing will go against us.

  213. Magnificent points altogether, you just won a emblem new reader. What may you recommend in regards to your publish that you simply made a few days in the past? Any sure?
