UNITED Party for National Development (UPND) president Hakainde Hichilema has appealed to the people of Zambia to give him a mandate to rule them on 30th October so that he brings economic and social change, fights poverty and brings jobs to the youths.
He said this in Kabwe yesterday when he was addressing scores of people at a rally that was held at the Lukanga grounds.
Mr. Hichilema charged that Zambia needed a strong, healthy young man who understood economics.
“A lot of youths who are graduates are roaming the streets because there are no jobs for them, I want to ask you the people to give me a chance so that I bring about jobs for the youths,” he said.
The UPND president said he would bring about jobs because he was an employer and he new just how to bring economic change to the country of Zambia.
The opposition leader further said electricity would be given to the town through the Lunsemfwa Hydro Power Company .
He added that Zambia China Mulungushi Textiles which has since been closed would be revived because it not only created for employment for the people of Kabwe but also contributed to the economy of Zambia.
On health, he said that the best medical services would be brought to the town of Kabwe and Zambia as a whole as opposed to now were only rich people and politicians had access to best medical services.
And Siavonga Member of Parliament (MP) Douglas Syakalima urged the people of Zambia not to over burden old men by putting them in the office of presidency.
He said the office of the president was a very sensitive office that needed strong and energetic people .
Speaking at the same rally, Moomba MP Fidelis Mooya said that UPND was interested in punitive measures to fight corruption and not preventive measures that the Movement for Multiparty Democracy (MMD) was talking about.
He said that Zambia did not need people who had stolen and added to the suffering of the people but rather needed change.
And Mazabuka MP Garry Nkombo appealed to the Zambian people not to vote for a presidential candidate that was unpredictable by changing their minds on particular issues.
He said that Zambia was a poor country because it has been managed poorly and hence needed change to bring about riches in the country.

Those that are saying that HH for 2011, and Sata for now (2008), why cant it be the other way round? Sata is now saying that elections will only be held in 2013, and not 2011. Is that the correct interpretation of the Law? This is a presidential bye election and not a general election. Even MPs that are elected through a bye election only serve up to a time when scheduled general elections are due, regardless of when they were actually elected.

To tell you the truth, Zambia is ready for Sata and though some just go for empty slogans, let the truth be said and the PF leader is wooing people wherever he goes even in Mongu which is a big surprise. I agree that HH is the freshest candidate but he may be too inexperienced seeing he has never been in government in whatever capacity. There have never been any elections in PF and he said there will be no election in 2011. Soon he’ll introduce third term as he was backing it when Chiluba was bidding for it.

Fellow Zambians vote for SATA if you truly want those who hide in the titles of ” INVESTORS” to be scrutined and dignity be restored to our families. HH talks about understanding the economics, but should be reminded that my people in Zambia do and have even better qualification than him. We are talking about leadership with a better judgement because the President is only advised what policies the minister in charge of the ministry has put in place. HH will not run all the ministries, they will be run by people he has confidence in them. Some will be more knowledgeable than him and will understand the economics better than him. United Church of Zambia (UCZ) Copperbelt Presbytery Bishop Committee Njase described Mr Sata’s stance on 2011 elections as the beginning of the opposition leader’s downfall.
Bishop Njase said it was surprising that Mr Sata could start bending the constitution when he was not even president.

Its very disappointing that Zambian seem to be blind. First, Identify your needs, then analyse the best candidate among HH, RB, MCS and HP. If you are reasonable enough, it easy for you to know who the best candidate is. to all those who are sayn HH has no experience to run govt.please wake up.we need private sector efficiency in govt.in developed countries govts are more efficient than some private sector organisations i think we need change and HH is the right man for the job.
GT and HH in particular did not privatise any parastatal company. I what they did is a due diligency and most of which was rejected by Sata and FTJ. For example it was suggested that ZCCM be sold as a single entity since some business units could not stand on their own. MCS and JTJ opted for the short cut and sold the units to riff ruffs like Binani who bribed them. Ramcoz was placed under receivership by Zanaco not HH. HH only managed the process as per company law. The whole essence was for Zanaco to recover their debt. Did you pipo expected Zanaco to collapse just becoz of Sata and FTJ’S indian minions –
