President Rupiah Banda has assured Zambians living abroad that his government would work tirelessly to develop the country.
President Banda said the MMD government was in a hurry to expedite development in the country in order to meet the aspirations of people living home and abroad.
Mr Banda was speaking in Pretoria when he addressed Zambians living in South Africa today at the Zambian High Commission.
He said allegations that his administration has failed to deliver were unfounded as development takes a long time to achieve.
The President called on Zambians living abroad to contribute to the country’s development by investing their money back home.
“It is not late for you to start investing in your home country now because you may end up regretting if you delay,” said Mr Banda.
He reminded the Zambians that the task of developing the country needed concerted efforts of all Zambians.
He said Zambia has not been spared by the global economic crisis which is likely to impart negatively on the country’s economic efforts.
He said as part of measures to enhance the country’s economic development, government was seriously diversifying the economy which has been dependent on copper since independence.
Mr Banda added that although he is working on implementing development plans left by his predecessor, the late President Levy Mwanawasas, he needed support from those working with him in order to succeed.[quote]
“I expect the leaders I inherited from my Predecessor and those I have appointed to be loyal to me for the system to work effectively,” he said.
Meanwhile President Banda today commissioned the chancery at the Zambian High Commission in Pretoria.
The Chancery was bought by the government at the cost of 4. 5 million Rands in 1998. The Chancery was formerly a college.
The President commended the previous administration for its foresight to purchase the property.
He said this has served government a lot of money in rentals which now can be used for other purposes.
And speaking at the same function, Foreign Affairs Minister, Kabinga Pande, urged Zambians in diaspora to desist from engaging themselves in unlawful acts which can tarnish the image of government.
Mr Pande said 90 per cent of Zambians imprisoned outside the country were women who were used by drug barons as couriers.
He said Zambians must abide by the laws of the host country to avoid unnecessary problems for themselves.
And in his welcoming remarks, High Commissioner, Leslie Mbula, urged the government to help quicken the process of issuing passports to Zambian nationals living in diaspora.
Mr Mbula said the mission has been receiving a lot of complaints from Zambians in South Africa by the slow pace at which passport applications were being processed in Lusaka.
He said because of the delays, people have been blaming the mission for the problem.
ZANIS/
Is this the same speech he delivers to all Zambians when he travels abroad?
Yebo evening fellow bloggers
There is nothing in the speech that we haven’t already heard. LT I am more interested in the questions that the Zambians in SA posed to RB, if any?
Spot on your Excellency! Blogging insults year after year has no dividends in short or long term. How can a normal person go in the Diaspora only to major in insolency and fantasy.Fundamentally and economically, Immigration is supposed to be a skills enhancement golden opportunity that fosters national competitive edge. But alas, we have kids dedicating their lives to blogs outdoing each other on insults. Then the question is what kind of change agent do you see yourself to be from wherever you are spewing your insults from?
In the first place, Toadface can’t justify his lack of vision by saying development is a long process that takes time to achieve. If he had done anything for the people, by now we would have seen the foundation of his developmental program.
Secondly, Rooftop Barman can say that again and he’ll still get the same answer from me: There’s NO WAY I’m going to invest my earnings in a rotten, unstable system which he has perpetuated by encouraging old-fashioned nepotism and corruption in the highest of offices. His system still doesn’t pay pensioners on time and tax-payers don’t see their money being ploughed back into the system. So Toadface can just forget.
No way,
How do you invest when you are an economic immigrat infester struggling and daily leaving on social welfare? The PPP is measured by your mother still living in a shanty compound and answering the call of nature in the communal pitlatrine. It takes extra wealth to invest not a carnival still chasing the wind.
why should he be in a hurry to develop this nation.when Rome was not built in a day.walema iwe.
# 5 No way,
How do you invest when you are an economic immigrant infester still struggling and surviving on social welfare? The PPP is measured by your mother still living in a shanty compound and answering the call of nature in the communal pitlatrine. It takes extra wealth to invest not a carnival still chasing the winds in vanity.Good luck to you i hope things work out for you some day. Statistical evidence shows that in reality, it’s only 10% of kids from heavily impoverished families you belong to break their poverty trap and enter the measurable investors’ continum.Yours is a probability of 1/100.
As for you Chapi at #6 and Senior Citizen at #4, don’t rush to protect this president. Chapi #6 your retarded brain is the product of incest, you can’t think clearly.
Senior Citizen at #4, Your Excellency has a Pensions Board that won’t be able to pay you your pension in time. You can proudly call yourself a senior citizen where you are, go back to your homeland and they’ll probably treat you like scum.
Chapi at #6 you are a social reject and you think Rat Bandit Toadface will always be there to offer jobs to your starving relatives from the village. You are a satanist and you are delusional. You need to be cleansed of the demons you inherited from your devil-worshipping family.
I betcha, half of the immigrants who attended this RB meeting in Hamilton Street , Pretoria have ‘fake’ R/Permits….
its mfwetu style…
Your excellence, I am not happy with your speech and whatever desist means, I think I will not desist from saying that, you are excusing your non action to bring results into the economy of zambia. We have seen you burn jet fuel the last two weeks, going to Zim (muku mona apo bashikile umutoto), and now SA (cement links Mushinuwa). I think job pa office na i paila. I want to counsel you in the name of God: what people are looking for are certain actionable steps that can earn you credit that something in the economy gona come up. You cannot use the long term as an accuse for lack of vision or key actions. To me, there is backwardation going on in the economy. Your management style looks like the resurfacing of the UNIP approach to economic management.
this issue of delays in issuing of new pasasprts is everywhere….i wonder why it takes so long even for those simply renewing…..these guys in london tell u 3 to 6 months but they advise you to apply for the express application route which takes quicker at afee of about ZMK600,000.
my question is …..does this delay in procedure not just encourage corruption ..i mean if i want it quicker i will pay the extra to an officer to expedite my application.
If I may ask, what is the exact economic plan of RB? MMD party cardres and Bootlickers please just answer nicely coz I just want to know. What I see is that the govt is ever begging for and favouring foreign investors. If as a Zambia I try to invest, there is no tax incetive but if a foreigner wants to invest, they have all the incetives. So whats the plot????
rubbish policies….
this Ala Beee has taken the concept of ncheleleko to a hihger level….presidential level…i pity my country..
A person will sometimes devote all his life to the development of one part of his body – the wishbone, the same goes for our present goverment, the only tangible development so far is an increament in the number of cadres both home and in diaspora, along side a massive loss of employment.Invest in yourself, in your education. There’s nothing better.
What we need this time is to ensure that the ambitions of our younger generation are nurtured and their skills honed, so that as a nation we can produce a skilled workforce and develop business leaders that we can be proud of.If we want to invest in the prosperity of our nation, we must invest in the education of our children so that their talents may be fully employed.Investing in education and providing 21st century skills for
Investing in education and providing 21st century skills for students are fundamental components to the nation’s continued growth and prosperity.
Why would anyone contribute to the country, when the leadership is not taking government seriously?
Here are a few suggestions:
1) Decentralize the government. Reduce the number of ministries from 29 to 10 or 12. Eliminate political positions. Spend half the government’s revenues on local government and double/triple their budgets, so they can provide services where people live.
2) Separation of the powers of state, and checks and balances. Professionalize the civil service. Create and enforce proper legal frameworks that protect parastatals from political interference.
3) Clear industrial and agricultural policies. No more dependence on failed neoliberal policies (foreign investment at all costs, privatisation, deregulation), but the steady development of domestic markets.
No way ,
Come out of social welfare, build your struggling parents who have known no descency a descent retirement, and plug in productive life lines all your sisters drawing fatherless pregnancies then talk of investment.Right now, you are certified infester without a future but insults and mouth diarhea.
To create markets and demand – raise wages. Create works projects. Pay people $5 a day to build roads and irrigation works in their localities. Proper taxation of the mines – no more giving away billions of dollars in the name of privatisation and free markets, but tax them 20% of their turnover (scrap all mining taxes except the royalties tax on turnover, and raise that from 3% to 20% – just confiscate every 5th load that leaves the mines – so they can’t hide their incomes and play games with how much profit they really made, claim tax deferments, etc.).
Mr. President. Talking to people who have no entrepreneurial vision to invest in their country is like asking an baby to do calculus. It cannot happen. Many Zambians are still in the UNIP era where govt is supposed to give you everything.
They have not grasped the fact that we are now in a free market economy and it needs citizens commitment to work. Without that, you’ll find foreign investors taking on projects that local investors can take on but due to their lack of commitment, they do not do so and end up blaming govt.
Lets see how many Zambians are going to invest in MFEZ and lets see how many will complain due to the fact that foreign investors have already started planning for MFEZ whilst the UNIPist Zambians wait for govt to start business for them on MFEZ.
No way
Zambia is not just you. We do not need your money. Lets leave serious Zambians to invest. You can stay there and continue blaming govt for your lack of entrepreneurial vision. You have no business mind and that is why you cannot invest back home.
Keep your money, we do not need it.
WORDS TO STRENGTHEN HIS POSITION. BUT WHERE DOES RB STAND? PLEASE MR PRESIDENT DO NOT JUST TALK THE TALK, ALSO WALK THE WALK!!!!!
mdala Banda alikosa, ukunwa VODKA no dilution, check the picture. I dont care whatever he said, its all plausible. ukukolwa!
The missions are damn useless and talking of passports office in lusaka, the whole crew needs to be prunned and fresh brains and quick hands brought in! they are so very slow, one wonders whether everything is manual there!
As for the President, he just better start perfoming instead of giving excuses everywhere he goes.
Free Market Theory has come and gone. This has nothing to do with the failings of the Zambian population, but with the failings of IMF inspired neoliberal government policies.
There has to be massive state investment in capacity building, so an educated middle class can emerge. Works projects can raise incomes and build infrastructure at the same time. What is really needed, is that incomes are raised so markets and demand are created.
Its really nice to see how passionate we all are about our country despite the difference in our beliefs as well as our locations. A good number of you have made very valid points. However, ladies and gentlemen, let me ask you all a question. All our governments have been asking us for more time so they ‘can develop the economy’ because development is apparetly a long term process. How long should we give them before we see the fruits. Correct me if i am wrong but i read somewhere that at the time of independence our economy was at par with Hong Kong, so why are we so far behind today?
# 20 Free-Market-Economist …. mwana what is MFEZ? tune me in…..I want some sensible investment line in Zambezi-land. While its true that govt is not helping the Citizens to invest, we will fight on and invest in our Zed for that all we have! When its our turn to rule, we will build on whatever would have been achieved by our not so inspiring current leaders.
#26 Pompi….let me try to answer your question. 1. When Zambia got independence, it had a form 2 president who thought that if the whole of Africa was independent, all African countries would become as developed as USA! So he spent all most of your reserves inveting in the liberation of other countries. 2. Critical Govt poitions and parastal posts were given to cadres and not real proffesionals. Loyalty was more important than performance. 3. Then came another form 2 who used the best brains available to show him how to plunder instead of developing the country. In the process, the citizenary lost all the sence of value and usually cant separate chuff from quality in their lives and politics…
Free-Market-Economist at #21, you’re a like a mental patient telling his friends they have a problem upstairs. First you should go to Zambia and make an evaluation of Rusty Blister’s government instead of posting pathetic comments from your school library in the diaspora. Chapi at #18 you don’t have the slightest idea about investment. You and your uneducated clan can come for lessons in enterprenuership when you learn to think clearly. You are a demon and a threat to society you psychopathic pedophile. You are still nursing the wounds from your childhood and you should stop coming on the blog to start quarrels with intellectuals.
MrK
The Free-Market model has worked. Zambians are more empowered today than they where during KK’s time. The guy who started CR Carriers had an idea. Zambians need to travel and they want to travel in luxury, let me offer the service and today he is reaping millions.
Gone are the days when we need to have “daddy” governments. It is time when the innovative shine and the poor managers go under (e.g Zambian Airways).
Answer me this, if there is need for hotel and lodging accommodation in Livingstone, why should I wait for govt to start this venture when I have seen there is a need and I can provide this service.
Zambians in the Diaspora support families back home, many by sending money thru Western Union and sadly Western Union in Zambia has failed to deliver and one wonders what happens to all that forex being sent in. Investing back home when you are not there can be tricky. I will keep my investments where I am.
Engine Bbuloko
MFEZ is Multi-Facility Economic Zones. They are open to anyone (both local and foreign investors) and are tax free zones. Their aim is to build a manufacturing base that will manufacture home appliances to name a few.
What is RB drinking looks like ..Brandy ,nishi alachaya akabwalwa.Elo a oneka monga ali Dizzy. elo ni Perkinson ..LT put a corresponding picture to the story..Adressing Zambians , you show some one busy Drinking, or maybe he was discussing nkani ya Kachasu.

There is nothing intelligent you have said. RB’s administration has made strives to make this economy more liberal with the free market model and only those with the innovative drive can thrive. You are lacking in this sector. You just come here to pass the most insulting comments and try to justify them as intelligent. Tell me one intelligent thing you have said in your post on #29.
What you are portraying are Ad Hominems. I am sorry but I like to engage in dialogue with intelligent people and not C average intellectuals like you. When you are ready to engage in an intelligent discussion, come back to me otherwise save the insults for someone else. It is just exposing more evidence that you are not on my intellectual level.
I wasn’t there at least i could have asked RB a question. I don’t even know what kind of people he addressed, am sure its some of those benefiting from RB’s plunder of our resources.
RB was talking to dead people. He sponsored the alcohol and so no questions when the boss is talking.
Most of the people he was addressing just could not respond out of respect. Even if you know some one is not intelligent we Zambians are fond of showing respect just because the person is older and not because they make sense.
Free-Market-Economist at #34, real economists won’t even come advertising their profession in a name the way yo do. You are a fake under-educate and the only phrase you seem to know is “free market model” as most of your posts have come to show. You lack the brain capacity to expand your ideology and you are most likely under 20. Don’t feed us with rubbish you don’t understand. There are slow-minded individuals such as yourself on this blog who claim to know a lot when infact the opposite is true. You are not an enterpreneur and not an investor. You are still a child and my advice to you is to leave the know-how to the experts.
No Way
Free-Market-Economist at #34, real economists won’t even come advertising their profession in a name the way yo do.
And how do i advertise my profession. I have never heard of a job position as “free market economist”. If there is one, please tell them to contact me as I would love this job. I do not advertise my profession. I used to call myself Free-Market-Capitalist but someone pointed out to me that it is a contradiction and suggested the name “free-market-economist” which I then adopted. I call myself that because I support the free-market model of running an economy.
You are a fake under-educate and the only phrase you seem to know is “free market model” as most of your posts have come to show
Under-educate…by who’s standards?? yours?? I am sorry but I cannot accept being called an under-educate by your standards. The only phrase I seem to know is “free market model”. Well I am a supporter of the free market model so you’ll expect me to use this phrase often so what is your point??
You lack the brain capacity to expand your ideology and you are most likely under 20.
Expand my ideology to what and to what subject?? Be specific.
Don’t feed us with rubbish you don’t understand. There are slow-minded individuals such as yourself on this blog who claim to know a lot when infact the opposite is true.
Please give some examples of things I do not understand. There have been some topics I have not commented on because I am not educated on the subject at hand but if it is stuff I can understand, I will comment on the issue.
When have I claimed to know a lot. This is a straw-man. I have never claimed to know a lot. If you read my post on #34, I said I like to engage in discussions with intelligent people. This is not claiming to know a lot. I also said that your posts are exposing evidence that you are not on my intellectual level. This is not claiming to know a lot. Provide a quote where I claimed…
You are not an enterpreneur and not an investor. You are still a child and my advice to you is to leave the know-how to the experts.</em
The straw-man strikes again. When have I claimed to be an entrepreneur or an investor? I do leave the know how to the experts. I read from them. I frequently check the times, dailymail and post business sections. I also frequent the Bank of Zambia, IMF and World Bank website to see what new data or publications they have. I also check the CSO, Nyasatimes, The Zimbabwe Times, Zambian watchdog and Zambia National Assembly to see what experts have in store for me to read and learn from. I also go to the Zambia online website to see what some experts are discussing so I can learn from them. So yes, I do leave the “know how” to the experts.
Now that I have addressed the things you have brought up about me and the insults you have lashed my way. I hope you are ready for a civil discussion.
What is your take on what RB has said in the above topic, what alternatives do you offer and why would they work/not work and where have they worked?
Anyway I have to go.
Have a good day/night everyone.
Great speech President RB Banda especially “The President called on Zambians living abroad to contribute to the country’s development by investing their money back home. “It is not late for you to start investing in your home country now because you may end up regretting if you delay,” said Mr Banda.”. This is what we as a country need and little of foreign investors.
Also, Mr Mpande’s “…, Foreign Affairs Minister, Kabinga Pande, urged Zambians in diaspora to desist from engaging themselves in unlawful acts which can tarnish the image of government“, this is timely and great advice. Unlawful acts include defaming the President of Zambia in reckless blogging too and I urge bloggers to take this message seriously.
Otherwise, all the best to you all and keep…
I disagree theres never a deadline on investing back home so mr president your claim that it will be too late to invest is unfounded. Investment is not a matter you just jump into unplanned after an announcement or after cohersion. Investment right now in zambia is very tricky if you are outside the country because theres no solid procedural plans in force in place to invest. Investment in Zambia is trusting someone and sending them money to do things for you . To me this sounds like the government just wants another cash cow mainly from the diaspora to fund their lifestyles or their failed development endevours.
Do we as humans have control on the date we may die if Jesus Christ doesn’t find us alive when He shall come? Let us not waste time but take President RB’s very seriously!
Why is it that every time a Zambian president travels abroad, our media reports that the president “addressed Zambians living (or resident) …” in South Africa, the United States, China, and United Kingdom etc? As far as I know, these speeches more often than not take place at the Zambian chancery in those countries. 99 per cent of the attendees are basically Zambian diplomats and their families. The remaining one per cent of attendees who take the trouble to travel any distance to come and “listen” to their president addressing “Zambians abroad” often are children or relatives of the president or members of his entourage who come not out their desire to come and listen to the president, but to ask for money from their visiting relatives.
CONT’D… For instance, I know for a fact that when the president comes to New York, whether it is Chiluba, late Mwanawasa or very soon Banda, hardly any Zambian outside of the New York area takes the trouble to come and listen to basically the same speech: Come back home and help develop Zambia or else send money through Western Union to your relatives!! So to our media, identify these gatherings correctly by pointing out that the president was “addressing Zambian diplomats and their families resident in Pretoria, London, New York, Beijing, or whatever town or city, instead of falsely claiming that he addressed Zambians resident in the entire country that he happens to be visiting, unless he did so via a nationally-televised speech!
#50 You are right. I remember one gathering in London there were only MMD arse kissers and few normal people. Every time after the presidents speech there was a big fella telling us to clap even at the most ridiculous stuff. It was basically a photo op to make it seem as though the president was very popular. Most of the people there was sycophant flunkies hoping to get some favour in form of a diplomatic jobs
Slumdog Shalapungu @ #47. You’re spot on! It’s hard to understand the thought processes of some of our leaders sometimes!
# 38 MrK,
You are old enough to be abrasive on the young man “Free-Market-Economist” mere articulating his views. What bothers you if he identifies himself with that ID? Folks respect your socialist views you have been shuffling on all Zambian threads. You are not espousing wisdom. We have followed your decade old orchestra for the Devolution of Government, Federalism, protectionist policies, Morale’s model and indeed Government restructuring to a 10 ministry Cabinet. But being passionate on these benchmarks is not synonymous with wisdom or monopoly of economic knowledge. I find your too weak in economics and public policy analysis yet I refrain abrasions. Respect the young man and accord him a level playing field to excel in his domain.
Slumdog Shalapungu @ #51. Ditto! Even the so -called questions are planted!! After that, I stopped attending these photo ops and have never been back since!
MrK, If you don’t share the ideological and policy views of the young man, just intellectually challenge them than resorting to demeaning language. If he is passionate about Economics, what any rational and mature person would do, is to encourage the young man with sincere criticisms so that he may become a polished expert. Even at professional level economics in discourse hold divergent views. You don’t expect Supply siders being in consent with Demand siders. Recognize the complexity and heterogeneity of the real economic world if you have to be relevant.
Mushota once said Zambians run the risk of one day electing a mad man for president. With Banda, Mushota’s claim seem to be coming true. We came close to electing a clear case of mental embacile in Sata and Chakomboka and with Banda, his docility also borders on a case of “chiwewe”.
I think as Zambians we need to blame ourselves for not holding our leaders accountable, how can we agree to those statements that development takes a long time to achieve. We need to be told by this admin what those long term goals are and we as Zambians need to be monitoring the progress and benchmarks of those long term goals, even Obama was being held accountable over his first 100 days and he knows that he is being held accountable for his next 100 days in line with his campaign promises.Zambians lets wake up and rise to the occasion, leaders should know that there are accountable to us. Whatever the problems, issues, lack of development etc our country has been facing, we as Zambians are to blame we are too passive and don’t exercise our civic rights. God bless Zambia
We need a Govt that will work SMARTER (Specific, Measurable,Attainable, Realistic and Timebound) and not tirelessly. God bless Zambia.
Sometimes it’s interesting to read other people’s blogs, because it kind of gives me an insight as to what is going on in there heads.
Interesting….
wonder who attended this.difintly didnt know about it…would have loved to ask him a few questions
HAA , NIKUINA KONSE UKU BA RB.MUTIMA UKANGIWA NAKU PUMPING BWINO CHIFUKWA CA MAFUTA. THIS IS WORRYING
While I understand the diverse nature of views, I just would like to say we need to use such occassions to lobby the Zed Govt to create policies that encourage Zambians in the diaspora to invest back home. Merely talking, complaining or playing the blaming game is not helping us. A few African countries like Mozambique and Ghana are doing it and it has had a positive spin on their economies. Ghanians leaving in the diaspora have as of year end 2007 contributed over US$4billion to Ghana’s economy . What better way to be investors than in our own country? Instead of blaming everything on our leaders, lets all look within our inner self to see what we have done for ourselves in the country we are leaving now or back in Zed. That for me is where we need to make any difference.
Ba RB, investment is not like a tender process where bids close at a particular time. What do you mean, ‘it will be too late’? Ekupene nomba uko. Simply shows how just how little our President knows about economic issues. I think such issues should be left to technocrats to articulate, pantu ba RB…awe tesana!
I attended the meeting. Unfortunately we were not given time to ask him questions because he was running out of time. The only positive outcome of the meeting was thay He is gonna endorse the implemetation of dual citizenship.
If you’re an adult person & keep on blaming others for your misfortunes then you shouldn’t be alive & that’s what most Zambians like doing. When will people learn to take responsibilitiy of their own thinking, attitudes, actions and most importantly destiny etc. The truth is you are what God made you. If you can’t initiate in life you will find your survival instincts being diminished. Life is about survival & it’s time we started looking at it like that as opposed to expecting it to manifest itself in neat packed compartments.
He was at my place and he finished all my food. Glad hes gone back
Aba kaamba balenwa na menshi after babepa
I was there too. The positives were that he is encouraging Dual Cititenship and second he has a sense of humour. He also said his governement cannot bring change in a short time, coz even a baby takes 9 months to be born so how can we expect change within 6 months. Am still trying to wrap my head around this type of logic.
Hey guys! Chill out! Do not get personal about differing opinions. When I was at UNZA we had ‘The Scribe’ and other internal newspapers and they were hilarious! Most of the editorials were to abash UNIP and anti-establisment. I look back now and see that most of those students turned out to be as bourgeoisie as could be. Reading all these postings reminded me of this:
“You are young, my son, and, as the years go by, time will change and even reverse many of your present opinions. Refrain therefore awhile from setting yourself up as a judge of the highest matters.”

Quit being a swabbing dever, all ya bloggers that try to judge others.
Among the colleagues I once worked with, there was a Nigerian, Sri Lankan, Indian, Zimbabwean, South African and Jordanian. We argued about a million issues affecting the world today and never came to any agreement except about George Dubbya! As different as our faces are so are our opinions. Most opinions that make it into public policy are not right, it is just that either the proponets shouted the most or so intimidated others that they were cowed to submission. I wonder if we could say the same things we say here if we gave out our true identities! The fear of man is the root of all evil.
Well those whop attended the event here, am sure you have seen how hard we work at this embassy despite the flak we get from you bloggers. The Issue of passports has been the most vexing one and we made sure the boss brought this to the attention of the president. There was a story here on this blog where people attacked this embassy and we made sure the High commissioner brought it to the attention of the high authorities. Most of the delays in passports are in Lusaka. There is where the bottleneck is and we hope this gets resolved quickly as it is get high priority
Just maintain ya swaggers,we all gat different oppinions,no more disrespect.
#65(ABWENZI)
Good contribution and Iam humbled that we have Zambians who can think like you. The current crop of Zambians heap their misfortunes on govt as if Govt is responsible for their everyday lives. Some Zambians will even blame govt for failing to propose a girl. The lne of thinking that has to be inculcate in us is “What will I do for Zambia AND NOT what will Zambia do for me”.
Leave Mphuno Nkulu alone
LT, I was one of the pipo who attended the RB address to Zambian in RSA. I must it was part Poltical (campaign) and part business as usual. As usual he spoke thing the audience want to hear … like dual citizenship which would benefit Zambians in diaspora… let me say…he sounded reasonable for his age.
But kwena Banda is aesthetically nauseous, just how can so much urgliness congregate in one being? Damn!
And talking of Zed women in foreign jails, what happend to that 21 year old Daka lady in Singapore prison. I hope she hasn’t been hanged.
Thats the problem when you have cadres in Foreign missions!!
No Way
I have come to apologize for some of the terrible things I said about you. I was emotional and out of line and I shouldn’t have said that.
I hope you accept my apology.
Kadoyo, you are so petty, have you nothing intellectual or positive to contribute, its a shame, You probably are a kadoyo for sure. Your name says it all.
No. 10, Thenji Stevens, so what’s your point?? Or you just want to say something for the sake of it? Limolimo kwikala fye. You werent even there and you say this rubbish???
#82 please forgive me for trying to make a little joke. People are becoming way to uptight on LT its scary
Kadoyp I understand, im sorry for the outburst, its just that we really need solutions for our country now, its critical that we find the solutions. lovely day
#10 what do you mean? # 82 spot on.
#85 its cool #86 ukazi tekanya please. Mwantemwafya!
Free-Market-Economist at #81, it was just a heated debate and many true patriots like yourself are inclined to defend our beloved Zambia no matter what, it’s a good quality. Needless to say, you explained yourself well and there’s no offence taken, absolutely none. Blog freely and educate us further.
Some of the maize he is giving to Zim was actually grown in Mukushi by the very FARMERS one Bo Mugabe expelled from Zim.
Ba President as much as we appreciate your abroad speeches, and urging Zambians living abroad to invest ; the same Zambian government refuses to recognise dual citizenship. My appeal to the Zambian government is to start a debate on dual citizenship – and weigh the opportunities the Zambian government is missing out on this issue. If you deny Zambians the ability to have dual citizenships when the opportunity arises, how do you expect to encourage them to come and invest home? Other countries are benefiting from this so do your homework gentlemen and see how this can go about. To fellow Zambians living abroad – consider enganging the government in this dialogue. Times have changed!! This should nbot be an issue
what a weak speech
ZAMBIANS ARE MOTHER EFFING LOSERS!!THATS WHY WE HAVE A ZIMBO AS PREZ..
