Kasama’s police pedophile still on the run after defiling young girl

Share

Lukashya Member of Parliament, Alfridah Mwamba, has called for the
urgent arrest of a police officer who allegedly defiled a 14 year-old girl of Chief Nkolemfumu’s area in Kasama district.

Speaking in an interview, Ms. Mwamba said the police should not protect the named officer from prosecution but should arrest him and let him answer the charges of defilement.

She was reacting to reports that the police officer disappeared after he allegedly defiled a teenage girl in Nkolemfumu village recently.

Ms. Mwamba advised the police command to be proactive and ensure that the suspect was brought to book. She charged that members of the public would want to see justice prevail in the matter, adding that anything to the contrary would not be accepted. She said it was unfortunate that some police officers, who were supposed to protect the public from criminality, were in the forefront of sexually abusing young girls.

Ms. Mwamba, who is a Lawyer by profession, has since pledged to follow up the case at Kasama police station and ensure that the law takes it course against the named police officer. She further expressed displeasure that it has been one week now after the matter was reported to police but no headways have been made towards apprehending the suspect, who is still on the run.

Recently, a named police officer allegedly defiled a 14 year-old girl in chief Nkolemfumu’s area.Northern Province police commanding officer Charles Lungu confirmed the incident and said a manhunt for the suspect has since been launched.

He further appealed to members of the public with information regarding the whereabouts of the police officer to report to the nearest police station so that the suspect could be apprehended and charged for defilement.

  1. Please educate the police force, that their job is not to terrorise people but to serve and protect!! Sad that it’s not only women being raped in police stations, now they are out hunting for little children…. christian nation my butt

  2. ya ya, now they are out hunting for little children, since the women who have been victims of rape in cells are now talking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz educate your police, to serve and protect the people!!!! becoming a cop is not a greencard to do whatever they like……………..

  4. Bakapokola manje bayamba ukulya abaiche…lets hope the same law will catch up with the cop who should be in the fore front protecting it.

  5. #8-if they were an item -kapokola was in a better position to know that he shouldnt sleep with a 14 yr old and thats y he’s on the run

  6. Ba buju yashani iyo?Nomba mwayamba no kulanyenga utwaiche! iyo bakapokola mwashupa, ukutemwa intobyobyo!!!

  7. Nangu batila ati akana ka ng’wena kakulila kwitete awe te ifyo, kasiyeni kakule ako kamufana ba mudala.Ala bane mwilatemwisha intobyobyo!!!

  8. Obviously this guy is not named, if the readers don’t know his name. Whats his name kayile…We need to know

  9. Let us not just condem the cop, the girl at 14 yrs might have concerted to the act. Some girls into the habit as young 12yrs. better interview both parties. Inthe meantime there hbeen an outcry over 27yrs woman giving birth in police cells but the reason for her being locked up is being over looked. She was detained for being cruel to a child or extreme child abuse and may be the female arresting officer wanted to ment out reasonable punishment. No one is above the law and the officer just did the right thing by detaining her. Its not the first time that expectant women have been sent to jail. Why make this one an issue. Bwana Charles Lungu dont get emotional over the matter. The police command should retrain officers so that they conduct themselves more humanely.

  10. Lekani potential ikule bakapokola, at 14 yrs you have already started tasting tasting. He must have been forcing himself on the girl, nentwenu yakwe yalifimba. Nothing has been mentioned about condom or he wanted to have 100% feel of it.

  11. the hunter becomes the hunted. Kanshi what’s wrong with these people? Sick and tired of such kind of stories. Just the other day UTH recorded 23 cases of defilement within a week or two. Please introduce the sharia law and you will see the results….

  12. Pedophilez, if they shud get to that stage, are sick and need counselling before you lock them in a vault and throw the combination keyz in the Victoria Falls. #16 Your 16 year old friend iz “qualified” to get married; so no “harm” in having a 17 year old or indeed 80 year old male partner. #17 The Zambian law doez not recognize the consent to sex by a girl under the age of 16. I stand to be corrected, tho.

  13. What is the typical punishment for such offence in Zambia – Jail term? How many years.

If the punishment is not deterrent enough, people will continue abusing children. May be MPs should amend the law so that the severity of the punishment will put off people thinking of committing these crimes.

The problem could be that the law is weak. That policeman already knows this law, how else would he be trusted to enforce it?

  14. #24 Zambia has a police service on paper only,in reality its a force as all evidence is obtained using brutal force. They serve no one but the apamwambas and their own dicks!

  15. Women from komboniz have been raped for so long by these thugs you call the Zambia police dis-service.Until the raped the Ma Yard girls no one cared.Police in Zambia make fun of women who report rape, they say, “I think naiwe wenzo funa or wenzo nvela mushe.” I hate the Zambia Police and everytime I hear one is gun poped by fellow thugs the armed robbers I give a thumbs up,thats one more less thug since there is no difference between a thug in the police force and one not in the force.Their behavior is the same.

  16. #23 ala chale pa zed ni maimwene, takwaba ati niwe victim esp.. when you are poor or a woman! Just hope for the best that people will open their eyea and do something ASAP
