MMD Deputy National Chairman Kabinga Pande says President Rupiah Banda is on the right track in implementing the legacy of the late President Levy Mwanawasa.
Mr. Pande challenged the opposition to exhibit maturity and show leadership in their utterances.
He says the UPND/PF pact leaders are the ones inciting the Zambian people to turn against the government of the day.
Mr. Pande was speaking in an interview with ZANIS in Kasempa yesterday during the memorial of the late President Mwanawasa.
Mr. Pande, who is also Kasempa Member of Parliament (MP) and Foreign Affairs Minister said the pact is headed for doom and that the ruling party is not threatened by the formation of the Pact.
He said while government is concentrating on developing the country through various projects, the PF/UPND pact leaders;
Mr.Michael Sata and Mr. Hakainde Hichilema were busy criticizing government and the leadership of President Rupiah Banda.
Mr. Pande said Mr. Banda has keenly followed the legacy of the late president such as the fight against corruption and the strengthening of the governance system.
He said President Banda had implemented several development projects in North Western Province.
He cited some of the projects as the rehabilitation of roads, opening up of Lumwana mine and attracting more investors to invest in the province.
ZANIS
Get all the fools on your side and you can be elected to anything.
What legacy? what y’all need to do is retire!
Why has he to implement another person’s legacy? Does it mean he does not have his own plans and ideas? Nowonder there is chaos!
An honest politician is one who, when he is bought, will stay bought.
Why are MMD leaders endlessly talking about the pact? It shows that they are really threatened by it.
Kabinga Pande don’t even let me get started. All of you useless crooks will support even a monkey as long he is the one lining your pockets. So that legacy ******** is nothing but crap you’re are fool!shly uttering from the crack in your butt

selfish leaders.even when things are wrong,they cant come out in the open to tell the truth.
Yes with you he is the best president that has ever been in Zambia, how corrupt people can be when they are in power ; wait untill you are out that paradise
Why do our leaders want to be copy rights where is RBs plan to develope Zambia ? Are you all LEVI? PEOPLE WANT TO SEE YOUR PERFORMANCE;
Big noise is trying to implement levy’s legacy but failing. Hakasata will never be president of z fool stop.
This POST’s “Mr Chiluba can rejoice this week that his fortunes have turned: the former president has been acquitted on six charges of theft. As a devout Christian, he gave God the credit for his exoneration and hailed the return of “the Almighty’s” favour” is a good start at not misusing the titles of Doctor, Dr. on characters that have questionable education althought they were honoured with Doctrates which do not allow them to teach in Universities.
As for “He said while government is concentrating on developing the country through various projects, the PF/UPND pact leaders…“, why is Mr Pande talking about the PACT if his government is concentrating on development programmes. Anyway, just continue campaigning for the PACT and I appreciate.

Matt 6:33
What legacy? Legacy my foot! RB should create his own legacy, so far it’s been all cow dung!
WHAT IS LEVY’S LEGACY??? JUST LET THE GUY RIP!
kabinga Pande is useless and he has no intergrity muchimutwe. hey give us a break…
It is the job of the opposition to criticise and it is the job job of Govt to develop the nation. The opposition is doing its job. Can Mpande say the same about Govt? Govt has been on the defensive and is behaving like a deer caught in headlights. If what you are doing is right, the people of Zed will see it. No amount of talking can erase what people can actually see. So, if Govt is concerned about the criticism, then they are not doing right. So, Mpande and Co can you get to work and stop complaining!
And stop this ‘implementing the legacy’ nonsense. RB should be his own man. He was not elected to be a copycat president. What is this ‘legacy’ anyway?
Mr Pande was elected because, at the time, the late president claimed that oil had been discovered in N/Western province. Where is the oil? The problem we have in Zambia is that people are elected on short-term lies. We shall do this and that when elected. Unless we start making politicians accountable on their promises, the Country will continue in its downward slide.
Boot lickers association of Zambia. Those project were already done deals and there is no turning back…
Well this is all rhetoric by RB and his close allies! Why can’t they come up with their own ideas on how to run and develop the country. How can they depend on a dead’s ideas which they have no clue on how he intended to to put them in reality. This is a circus they in and its a pity they are claiming to implement LPM’s programmes. These chaps do not have a plan and hence driving the country into disaster! RB has no legacy at all and I wonder what will be left when he leaves. Maybe the only thing we will remember him is that he helped FTJ to be acquitted!
LEGACY HERE WE GO AGAIN ,
RB is the Great man Zambia has ever Produced. The man is humble, intelligent and understanding. Come 2011, We rally behind you his Excellency Ruphia Bwezani Banda
its like that pande is as foolish as the power he worships. legacy is complete doesnt need fools to continue it levy did hes part. let those fools do there part too, which in their case is ruining the nation. how unfortunate
People I had a dream – Zambia was prosperous again, no one was going to bed on an empty stomach, no one was surviving on one meal a day. Families were happy because most people had jobs, good paying jobs. Children were ever happy, they all went to school with lunch boxes full of good food and drinks. Children enjoyed school because teachers enjoyed their work, no teacher went on strike, and they were paid on time and handsomely. There was no Anti Corruption Commission because there was no corruption anyway. There was no task force, leaders and public servants didn’t steal public funds, they were content with what they earned, and they had no selfish interests. The roads everywhere were well done- tarred. People had never seen pot holes. There were no power outages.
There was no NCC, because the constitution was already developed after the Mungomba commission. MPs never got midterm gratuities; instead they were hard working and were well known in their constituencies even by small children-third graders. No one was dying from preventable diseases, hospitals had all the essential medicines, health workers never went on strikes, no one gave birth on the street or police cells. Journalists were not beaten or harassed for reporting the truth. The ruling party and the opposition coexisted and addressed real developmental issues in their articulation. All ministers issued well thought out statements addressing real issues affecting the people.
‘He said President Banda had implemented several development projects in North Western Province.
He cited some of the projects as the rehabilitation of roads, opening up of Lumwana mine and attracting more investors to invest in the province.’ Crap! This was already in place when Levi kicked it. Lies in the morning, lies in the afternoon and lies when they go to sleep. Lies, lies lies!
Our brothers and sisters in the diaspora enjoyed coming home to see with their own eyes the good things happening in Zambia. They boasted to talk about their country among their colleagues abroad and oversee. Our soccer team was a force to reckon with in Africa again.We all sung the national anthem with pride… This is where my dream ended the other day. I tried hard to sleep again so that I can continue to dream.
What legacy are you talking about. Levy Mwanawansa did more harm to this Country. All the econimic growth experienced was as result of the major decisions which were taken by the earlier adininstration. He was just enjoying the fruits of what others had sown. And he started claiming the credit thanks to Meembe his busisness partner
#28 The previous admin was FTJ’s.
Why then do some people say FTJ did nothing. Others say KK ruined the country. Some say the British colonialists took all the wealth to Britain.
And of course RB has only been on the thrown for less than a year.
May be one day we shall have a list of what each president achieved, and another list of what they failed at. Hopefully, it will be published for the public to see.
The only legacy Levy left is the legacy that has condemned many Zambians to poverty.Levy’s legacy is nepotism,constantly quarreling with oposition,pretending to be fighting corruption whilst his wife and family tree stole billions from GRZ coffers.Selling the entire country to Chinese infesters.Levy’s new deal built nothing,no school,no hospital,no road,no house,the cabbage looked good because there was a copper boom which benefited foreigners and some Zambian crooks who now heap praises on him for making them rich whilst 85% of Zambians live in untold misery.I thank God for getting rid of this devil the same way He will get rid of chi RB.Zambians left behind,get rid of MMD or accept that you are doomed!
come on now, kafupi already sold the nation before levy could get a chance, all in the name of privatization yaba
Its a shame that many Zambians are pretenders and heartless,the country is ranked among the very poorest in the world a list which includes countries like Somalia and Afghanistan countries that have been at war for decades.Zambia needs a revolution and a leader who is non apologetic like Ghana’s Jerry Rawlings to flush out all the bad eggs even though the methods will appear cruel but it will save the nation.Elections mean nothing in Zambia as the Voters have no power to effect change,the vote counters have all the power.A self imposed leader who is well intended is better because he owes no one any favours.whats the use of having elections when leaders are imposed on you through rigging? Lets not give MMD the time that Congolese gave Mobutu,see what has happened to them!!
#32 u 100% right,
The best title shoud have read RD is dis implementing.
RB will be be judged by the programmes he will put into place and how he will suceed in implimenting them; and that is how Zambians will judge his caliber, and not what Levi did we have already seen how Levi build strong fences againist corruption: now we have witnessed how RB has broken them all. to allow corruption to take its toll inthe nation just see what is happening every where total cause;;
