Chief Mwanachingwala threaten to beat up radio station reporters

Share

Chief Mwanachingwala of Mazabuka has accused management at Mazabuka Community Radio Station of inciting his subjects to rise against him.

The Chief says the radio station is being used by his rivals who lost during the succession to the throne of late Chief Mwanachingwala to promote anarchy in the Chiefdom.

”I feel am being victimized by the radio station, I need protection from relevant authorities. I may be forced to react by beating reporters at the station to vent my anger,” said Chief Mwanachingwala.

He also alleged that station manager, Belon Chintombwa, who is the son to the losing candidate is behind the smear campaign.

Chief Mwanachingwala said he is bitter with the unprofessional conduct of some reporters at the station whom he accused of repeatedly forcing him to comment on issues he does not understand.[quote]

Chief Mwanachingwala said it was sad to note that a community radio station which is mandated to promote peace and reconciliation was used to settle old scores.

He complained that his chiefdom has witnessed a lot of developmental programmes aimed at reducing poverty but regretted that the same has not received media coverage.

Chief Mwanachingwala vowed never to provide financial or material support to the station.

But Station Manager, Belon Chintombwa told ZANIS, that it was unfair for the chief to accuse the radio station of de-campaigning him.

He said his father was not an issue because the radio station operates independently.

Mr Chintombwa also said his aging father does not have any more ambitions of ascending to the throne because of old age.

But Chief Mwanachingwala has maintained that apart from campaigning for his aging father, Mr Chintombwa was advocating for Prince Mutelo to take over the throne.

  1. Ba Chief no kayi? The problem you are always in news as an MMD cadre. No one takes you seriously. Yesterday you were in the news advocating to marry your schooling daughter and still keep her in school. Chief you cannot have your cake and eat it. 4. WOWWW, the culture of beating journalists is now embedded even in traditional rulers, where is Zambia headed to under RB?

  5. The reporters are forcing you to comment on matters you dont understand? Then why the heck are you commenting? If you dont understand something, just keep quiet. It is not the reporters’ fault. This nonsense is being encouraged by the behaviour of the MMD thugs. Shameless old man. To think I defended you over your daughter!

  6. why comment when u dont understand??? dealin with politicians will only get u dirty……if it goes on like this u will lose the respect we still give……….

  7. I hold The Litunga and Chiti-Mukulu in high esteem because they don’t get this petty. Looks like we still resolve disputes by fighting, as we have done for hundreds of years. When are we going to be civil for once?

  8. Is this not the same chief who is marrying his daughter off this monthend. Actullay the daughter is in Grade 11 and will be marrying a teacher, thereafter will continue with school until December next year when things will start happening. In short after the wedding and if the teacher happens to die then the girl will remain a widow. Shit chief.

  9. Most of our chiefs are illiterate and numb skulls. They want authority and respect and cannot even count their fingers.

Only the BRE has a deliberate policy of educating potential litungas well. All the other tribes have savages stuck in “cave man” rituals.
