ZANIS REPORT ON FAZ FLASE, MISLEADING AND INJURIOUS TO FOOTBALL
The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) regrets the erroneous, deceptive and dishonorable sports report generated by the Zambia News and Information (ZANIS) on 24 August 2009 on the Association’s statement on the national team’s outing to London.
FAZ has never issued any statements or granted interviews to ZANIS on the account of the Association to the Sports Council or attempted to censure any officer directly or indirectly as incorrectly implied in the ZANIS report.
The report by ZANIS and extensively quoted by two local news websites and a radio station are false, without any element of fact and a gross abuse of the professional and ethical principles of journalism.
Following publication of that false report, FAZ demanded an immediate retraction and apology from ZANIS, a copy of which is attached with this statement for the media and public’s information.
An official report detailing every activity leading up to the match Ghana vs. Zambia has been issued to the National Sports Council of Zambia.
While we remain committed to continuously enhancing our ties with the media, we have a right to demand objective and accurate reporting which stands on truth and professionalism; tenets which were clearly not evident in the fabricated report by the ZANIS reporter.
While we regret the poor reportage and portrayal of Football House in bad light, it is worth noting that the Football Association of Zambia has no control over media houses particularly those whose staff decides to willfully publish falsities.
We wish to affirm that Football House remains open for all types of inquisitions, queries, discussions and information not only for journalists but other stakeholders including ordinary Zambians who may wish to have first hand and accurate information on the national teams, league development, capacity development programmes and any other matter.

is there an organisation or institution is ZAMBIA where there ‘ s truthfulness?
Proof read please!
oh no , not again, lets just get ready for the task at hand and beat Algeria.2-0 to Zed
What is truthfulness? Isn’t something only ever true if we like what it represents? If the prosition is opposite of what we believe then, yea, we will cry foul.
LT has no proof readers.
Too many Kachepe in Zed, some pipo make a living out of this , Kachepa.
I hope Football house cadres will not start beating journalists as well.
The media is a very important tool in democracy and good governance but if let without checks and balances, the results are obvious.
Open reporting has helped a lot of us to know what is going on in the Country but facts should be separated from opinion. The Jpurnalist should inform us and we should be allowed to make our own opinion
Enough about the LONDON TRIP, my advise to FAZ and Ministry of Sport is that we need to move forwad. Time to waste, on who did what ‘wrong’ is gone, lets focus on the must win Game against Algeria, give the boys a good send off to France for camping. I hope as I write this comment, FAZ has contacted the various pros’s teams so that they know what day and time they will arrive in France from their teams. Those in RSA, must, I repeat Must join the home based players as they travel on Sunday. Now Goverment / FAZ could you come up with a winning package for the team?, so that we do not have excuses. ALL THE BEST ZAMBIA. WE CAN DO IT, I have a strong feeling if we win in ALGERIA, World cup we will qualify. YES WE CAN.
#7 Sikelemi, this is nicely said , i wonder how FAZ is failing to manage things, we need pipo like you . Send in your C. V . A.SAP.
# 8 you are right but am not sure about our chances this time around ! Our preparations have not been convincing enough !!
#9Mutoba Kongwe, its never too late, if they work hard, anything is possble. We must not give up on them.
We can appoint Maxwell Nkole to form a task force to investigate the abuse and pluder of resources on FAZ outing to London…
WE cant be stuck in the London shame match Ghana Vs Zambia (4-1). That is history and Hon Chipungu demanded a report submission with 10 days to NSCZ to which FAZ has complied. And Kalusha received part his share from the bloggers. The only cancer which Zambians have suffered from for 4 decades is not being proactive when it comes matters of public interest. We sit with our arms folded and once wrongs have bin done thats when we react too late to solve matters. Teams are firing coaches as though they are dumping rubbish on the street. Its only Simaata Simaata & a few others who have a strong voice on soccer matters. The rest no policy direction only critizing. City of Lusaka soccer fans are very primitive. They act like are from another planet. No nzelu Plz control urselves or more punches
What is Eric saying now? They reported wrongly or he was misquoted? I think Eric has noticed that it is not working running around. Well, work hard Eric to correct the erroneous report. But remember Kalusha must still come right on London saga. In fact advise him to do a bit of organizational management and public acumen. He is far from it. One cannot run soccer, especially at national level, like he is running “AKA NTEMBA” in Mufulira. Knowledge is power. Ignorance has no defense and is very expensive. Please, we do not want that to happen again. never treat soccer lovers like kids who are ignorant and dull-lards. Some soccer lovers are better learned than those running soccer in the mother-land. So jack-up guys, pull up your socks. Especially you, Eric, as communications officer.
