President Rupiah Banda has extended by 10 month the period in which the National Constitutional Conference(NCC)is supposed to complete its work.

NCC Chairman Chifumu Banda says the extension is in accordance with section 22 of the NCC Act.

The NCC which started in December 2007 had a duration of 12 months which expired in April this year.

And Mr. Banda says the General purpose committee of the NCC will make recommendations to government on how best to speed up the work of the NCC.

President Rupiah Banda recently announced that he would meet the NCC to discuss ways of speeding up the constitution making process.

He urged the delegates to be sensitive to calls for prudent management of resources from various quarters of society.

  6. Heath care review in America Obama plan has taken few months since he took over oval office, despite the mounting pleasure from the republicans who are opposing and Obama now is demanding for congress to pass the bill so that he signs the health care bill. Why cant RB do the same by demanding the NCC to finish its work soon considering how much time and money has be spent on ths constitution making process.

  7. mo resource mismanagement…..those funds would have been used to educate and improve a poor child’s future. but where is it going??? to the rich mps, politicians who ar being evacuated abroad for treatment leaving the poor to die helplessly. God help us

  13. Everytime these a new president, the constitution has to change to suit somebody’s extended stay as president. African leaders are rotten eggs! What is the point of this document anyway which they themselves law makers dont even follow by the book but are constantly altering it to suit their selfish needs. Take whatever time you want. I personally dont care. The only thing diasporas will benefit from the bogus thing is the “Dual citizen” thing but even that is just a shield behind the real reason of the changes. Good luck Zambia!

  14. Genesis 9 vs 20. “Then Ham saw his father naked —–When Noah was sober and came to know what had happened, he cursed Cannan(Ham’s descendant) to be a slave fore ever: From this Ham came the Africans. So does it mean we are cursed forever? We keep doing the wrong things all the time.

  15. In a time of global financial crisis such as now, government is supposed to reduce on expenditure. Less and less should be spent on non priority areas such as unneccessary trips within the country and abroad. Another suggestion would be to start reducing allowances for people on such bodies as NCC in such a way that they should get to zero after 7 months (or something like that). NCC delegates have made enough money already.

  16. I accordance with section 22 of the NCC act…. On what section iz the ceazation or dissolution/cancellation? That iz what needed to be applied, if it iz provided for, that iz.

  17. Those monkeys were laughing up the tree. The one who urinated said: “look at these animals and they say they descended from us? The others said “urinate on his head, how can they descend from us when he’s busy waffling and telling people lies, playing the tribal manipulative nonsense and all, they can’t even feed themselves, come on, URINATE”. And the little monkey opened the tap. He screamed “KANITUNDILA”

who wish to tyrannize will do so; for tyrants are active and ardent,
and will devote themselves in the name of any number of gods, religious
and otherwise, to put shackles upon sleeping men.
