Senanga hospital lacking incubators

Share

Senanga district hospital in Western Province has no incubators to keep premature born babies at the hospital.

This came to light when Western Province Permanent Secretary Ikanuke Noyoo visited the hospital at the weekend.

Acting Nursing Officer, Beatrice Mukambo, said the hospital has no incubators resulting in premature babies being kept close to their mothers as a way of keeping them warm.

Ms Mukambo appealed to government to consider purchasing incubator machines for the hospital which also caters for Shangombo district whose hospital is under construction.

And Mr Noyoo said its government’s desire to ensure that quality health services are delivered to the people in the province.

Mr Noyoo said government through the ministry of health will ensure that hospitals are equipped with machines to serve lives.

The Permanent Secretary further commended the hospital management for keeping the wards and surroundings clean adding that the environment was good for patients’ quick recovery.

  1. Mr Noyoo, Senanga hospital needs incubators but Tetemashimba has given you hearses, what do you thing about him?? Is it the dead or the newly born who need help to grow and build Zambia??

  2. Pity about the lack of incubators at Senanga Hospital. We can only pray that GRZ’s decision to procure them will not be at the cost of having lost so many premature babies. Does anybody know that the mobile hospitals may have incubators?

  3. really pathetic, they dont even know the status of hospitals so how can they claim to have a desire to ensure that quality health services?? MMD seems to be more inclined to taking us to the grave “in dignity” while putting our lives at risk at birth..a whole load of crap

  4. Why wait for the perm sec? Please table such issues whenever necessary to better facilities for patients. This hospital used to be one of the best in the 80’s and i wonder what went wrong..

  5. Mr Noyoo, Senanga hospital needs incubators but Tetamashimba has given you hearses to distribute to your councils, what do you really need in your province and what do you think about Tetemashimba?? Is it the dead or the newly born who need help to grwo and build Zambia??

  6. Thats why we bought those h.e.a.r.s.e.s so that if those babies die they can be taken to their resting place with dignity. Clever te?

  7. The price of one heasre can buy more than 10 incubators, these are things which are needed urgently, but you went and spent billions on the manda, mandas.

  8. Barotse Land is a land of poverty. It is one province with a good number of people in positions of influence yet they can not speak for their kin and kith. Where is the man who often prided himself as the Prince of Barotse land. Was his talking meant to market himself for a position in government? Its time those plain dwellers discarded their likute to speak against anyone hindering the province’ development be it Mulena(KING) or whatever Prince.

Why boast of a tradition in poverty? By the way, the poverty in Barotse land can be attributed to the following
    1. The Barotse Royal Establishment with its corrupt indunas who demand too much from any one who wants to invest there.
    2. Its people who accept to be cheated by BRE that the Litunga will take care of their interests when he…

  9. CONT
takes care of his and his family only. You just have to look at thee vast land which all those poverty stricken Lozis are proud to call Mubu wa Ngweshi despite them benefiting nothing from it.
    Wake up makololo. Zamina zamisiya.

  10. Our leaders must put first things first.. we really need those children to grow up what logic is there to buy mandamandas, when our babies die because there are no incubators in hospitals, just imagine the pain in my heart for this missmanagement

  11. The logic or rather lack of it in all this government does is so painful to comprehend. No wonder most Zambians seem to be joyously awaiting the impending demise of one Satamashimba. May his remains be the first ones to be loaded in his Tetamaliloz before any baby from Senanga.
