that one wasnt even off side
number 13 which game are you watching?zambia is still playing
We are just not good enough running around like headless chickens
Ok guys game over we can’t score two goals Ageria 1 Zambia 0 and a draw wont cut it. Forget even making an appearance at Nations cup. That is what happens when you put a Great Galu to administer football in Zed. Am off to be all the best..to those who have the stomach for more pain

kateta nakaleta amashamo and am sure abaiche are aware that kamudala nakabusha.
What chililo are you talking about #22? Zambian national team is just composed of a bunch of no-gooders. They can go to HELL or Hang if they wish.
Algeria 1 Zambia 0 Full time
#24, don’t blame it on TETA. Seems you are just in the same boat as the players who didn’t seem to know why they were playing today.
No shame in this loss. Team has improved greatly. The difference between the two sides was Algeria’s movement off the ball and Zambia’s lack os striking power. The Zambian work ethic was excellent, even after a legitimate goal was disallowed. Very proud of the team – if only they could display the same discipline at al times, instead of the shambles that that preceded the friendly against Ghana in London, they would scale the heights at an even faster pace. Well done to the coaching staff. Unlike No.21 above and other part time supporters, let us keep supporting the boys. they are competing in a tough world out there!
Problema, zambiano lacks clinical finish, the so called “ubukula!!” We have to learn how not to panick in front of goal, look up & direct a purposeful shot @ goal, not bu chipantepante!!!
how do you expect kaponyas to bring you glory? The real good players are in university and colleges studying or drinking. We dont even have a proper stadium and you expect to win….
Kalusha must go. Let the proper soccer administrators take over. It seems he has been honeymooning too much while soccer is slowly going to the dogs. Look at the difference here, Ghana has qualified to the world cup, they trained well while Zambia was featuring school kids in London in the name of training to qualify to the world cup. Government must stop supporting a failed game. We need to open a petition to relieve Kalu from his duties. Being a former good player does not make one a good coach, which he failed and now some1 at the helm of a failed game that is using loads of money, Kalu must go.
Perhaps they should continue drinking and studying – we need football players, not academics, and drunkards
just wat i expected 1 – 0. zambia national team is finished.
Zambia National Team is a PERPETUAL LOSER, everyone knows it. Zambia has never won glory at Continental stage let alone World Cup qualifiers. SO, why should anyone support a LOSER? One has to be a LOSER to support another LOSER as a way of seeking comfort or solace.
Baba Bobojani, what championships was the team winning before it got ‘finished?’. I thought it has been a work in progress for some time – hindered by lack of consistent funding, a non existent infrastructure, and nil funding for grass roots academies?
Even in 2014 we will not qualify if we do not make a major change at FAZ. We should seek for new reps.
#28 you sound like someone who is very ok with mediocrity. Thats the biggest problem about our country. We call our selves educated country and run everything including soccer like kaponyas and think like *****s. We are a sick nation that requires divine healing. Failure has become so normal to us. Everytime we cant achieve something, we come up with reasons to justify our failure.
Zambia was finished from the word GO. Let’s not lie to ourselves that Zambia can win big games. That’s OUT!
No.34, Japan was an economic loser after the 2nd World War – perhaps there is a lesson for you in there somewhere?
#36, you are SO SO right. I don’t see them qualifying or winning a major game during our lifetime.
What a terrible loss. The boys did a lot of running and less thinking.Anyway it was an away game and that made it an uphill battle.
Overall,I can’t blame the coach or the players. Our local league is not well structured and supported. So football in Zambia is just a hit or miss affair. One day we play very well, the other day we just survive and then sometimes our football is just plain poor.
It’s sad that we talk about this when all is lost and not way before that. It’s the same story campaign after campaign.
let kalu give way for people to try and fix things.otherwise he has failed us.
Zambia chipuba chesu, bushe wiso ngalishilu kutiwamukana?? Win or losse, One love Zambia all the way…
#38, remember that the Japanese have a different fighting spirit that you should not eve dare compare to the Zambian one. Zambians have been losing from time immemorial, have they learnt anything in soccer or economics? NO. Some comparisons as trivial.
Great Galu what does he tell us about this? Failure is our second name. Look at our leadership RB and his cabinet. its strange that we can expect much from this country. Everything is just …….
43. I think you will find that your comments lacked the very fighting spirit that you refer to. That was my point!
kalu is not the one playing the game, he imparts his knowledge but the players fail to utilize his ideas. So, the blame is on the players who seemed to have had no clue what to do on the pitch.
What fighting spirit are you talking about #45? You can cheer the Zambian team all you can to encourage them to fight on but do they get spirieted by that? NO. Don’t blame me for their lack of figthing spirit.
#46 Yes Kalu did not play the game. But he is C.E.O of the company called the Zambia National team.If the C.E.O fails to deliver results,he has to go.
What about the players themselves who couldn’t deliver?
Kalu has to bear some responsibility……
47. Please, you seem to have issues with chronology even in this short space. It is you who lacks fighting spirit, not the team, as I stated in No.28 above, and as you clearly displayed in No. 34 above.
They say “Garbage in Garbage out”………………………….
The Zambia national team is one team that I can scarcely expend my energy on. It amounts to a total waste of time.
as regards Kalu, if a leader cannot impart his knowledge or direction to his team, then he should move on a assemble a team that will.
The irony of it all is that most of us would have had different comments if Zambia won.Too much hit or miss in Zambian football,
Well said No. 52
Let us be realistic, has Zambia ever won a major game leading to the world cup? The team can be more aptly referred to as in #52. The problem with us Zambians we like pretending that things are OK with the way Zambia plays. There is no credit to give them. Sorry!
Change the God damn coach herve renard, we havent won any game convincingly since he came, i say fire him. We need fresher minds ,
Its high time now our team stop playing football its taking us nowhere. I think playing dirty will do like in wrestling where those who cheat win while clean players lose. Like the goal we scored, when the player started coming out celebrating that when the linesman caught him offside. ZAMBIA HAS THE BIGGEST CURSE WHICH NEED TO BROKEN. No wonder things are not well in this COUNTRY. Look what happened in athletics in German, just ended golf tournament. This curse is called ‘POLITICS’
#58 Seriously there is no problem with the coach. He has to use whatever resources are available to him.Good or bad
Even if Morinho”the special one” came to coach Zambia,he would have the same problem. He would then want to bring in players like Drogba and lampard to beef up the Zambia National Team
the difference between Zambia and the USA national soccer team is funding. If you look at all the successful teams around the globe, you will find the same. If you look at the English Premiership, you will find the same. Clear strategic directions, patience and skills are one thing, without funding they are nothing. Let’s not sit around and throw stones at those who have dared to try and failed when we have done nothing.
#59, I agree with you, it’s about time Zambia stopped playing competitive soccer which costs the Nation money that could be directed at improving Zambia’s dilapidated infrastructure and social serivces. Why should you go one cooking the same beans for 2000 years which doesn’t get cooked?
#62 I agree with you but for how long we going to be talking about this. This has been the problem for ages now
Is there any benefit in funding soccer? If the Zambia national Team were like ZAMBIA AIRWAYS, it would have been liquidated soon as Kafupi came to power.
#63 jafypacu, Walasa!
If Kafupi had not brought in his hard core capitalistic ideas of severe cost cutting, maybe the gabon disaster would not have happened. The dear lads would have still been around winning titles
By now the coach should have improved the players striking abilities but after over 10 games in charge, zambia is stil playing wack, i say FIRE THE COACH,
64. I think we need to concentrate not on today’s national team, but on the team we wish to have in ten years time. rather than expending greater funds and lobbying for changes at the national level, we need to lobby for funds and greater commitment at primary and secondary school level, and the lower divisions of Zambian football. We need to develop our game from the ground up over the next two decades – that is the only way we can improve. The coach is not at fault, he has done well within the confines of the resources available to him. There was a time when this loss would have posted a highly embarrassing score line. they did not do too badly today.
#68 I wish you could go and watch a local game, say Buffalos vs Red Arrows.Only then would you understand that the coach has a big problem with player selection
You are right number 58.Renard has no basic knowledge about management. How does a coach give an interview where he says for his team to even get a draw it will be a miracle? Instead of motivating his team he was demotivating it….go to hell Renard….poor fox
Cool, tulibabi ka….. That initiative has started, there is more of inter school football but on the secondary school level; we should also include primary school.
#69 Actually the guys did a lot work and the Algerians did not have it easy.To add to your observation,we need to bring in people who have a heart for local football to try and bring it up.The big problem in Zambia is that football is only about the national team.Local and youth football takes the back seat. They forget that the players have to come from somewhare….
Atleast under patrick phiri we could beat SA by 3-1 but renard doesnt seem to knw what his doin anymore, FIRE THE FRENCH LOSER COACH and we hire a german coach
#74 I will say it again.Even if sir Alex Ferguson came to coach Zambia,he would have the same problems as Renard
No. 74 Nationality does not guarantee excellence – I seem to recall people shouting for Dunga to be fired. Now that Brazil has qualified, all has gone silent! Let us not not bring nationalities into the debate – The English tried to pretend that only an English coach would do, look what happened. Poor chap was fired for holding an umbrella while his team lost a rain soaked game!
#74 Our players also struggle to play in the European leagues cause their footbal background in Zambia does not help them much.I mean the local league,Schools footbal e.t.c
The situation is very bad. I’m glad that when I lay down to rest a little, I overslept and missed the game.
#76 My point is that the coach can not be entirely blamed for the loss to Algeria. It’s not about Nationalities.Any coach would have problems with coaching the national team be he local or foreign. The problem lies in the administration of football from the lower levels to the senior team
Independent – I agree with all you’ve said. I was a bit alarmed by Vladmir’s tone, which was unnecessary….
They played well.
#80 Point taken.
One thing that makes my heart bleed is the institutions that produced greats like Kaumba,Alex Chola,Charles Musonda, Kalusha e.t.c are no longer existant.I don’t think we will ever use the terms”School Boy International” or “Local professional” in a long while
How can the boys win when the tetamashimbas are dying, imintondo!!! its high time we stopped wasting taxpayers money on football and hospitals in south africa.
Nice try boys!
We gonna get them next time.
Why all the disappointment? What indication does anyone have that we have a good football team. Our top players do not play in the top leagues of the world like many other African nations. Our coach is a trainer who has never coached before. We play on pitches and train in conditions that are deplorable. Wake up from the dream — we are not good and will not be good in the years to come.
Yaba………….!!!
Look at the stats.Zambia have scored 2 goals in the 4 games. You expect to go to the world cup with such stats??? give me a break!!!!
*****s, we have been denied the chance to watch our own national team in my back yard
I think we need to be positive the boys did not do too badly Algeria massacared Eygpt and Rwanda
What is the biggest problem? do our players lack skill (co-ordination between Legs and mind) or is the coach not competent enough or it is lack of adequate funding by the govt and private sector? Let us suspend our participation in Big tournaments, groom a better team and make a historic come-back!
I SAID IT, NATI ALA BA ZAMBIA MAKULA!!! CHI LUSAKA HOPE YOU BELIEVE ME NOW!!!!
I am so mad that the guys didnt win, is it too much to ask, i think the Frnech Coach must go, Since he has been appointed, there has not been any improvement, Coach must go. ASAP.
Coach must go, Coach must go
ITS FOR RAEL, THE ROAD DOWN SOUTH HAS BEEN BLOCKED FOR ZAMBIA WHILE THAT TO ANGOLA IS POTHOLED AND HEAVELY MINED WITH LAND MINES. NO NEED FOR A MIRACLE.kuyamba timayamba bwino but poor “““““ Idiye ilenga. SORY GUYS.SEE U in 2012 or 2014.
Listers cool down. Firstly the coach was being realistic by ‘cutting our cloth according to our size’. he was right when he said we must focus on AFCON-ANOGOLA 2010. Players are seen during training. So if HH met his demands he was right to field him ahead on Mr. Reliable. On Kalu…we can’t blame him because he has given the coach all the authority regarding selection. it’s up to Geroge Lwandamina to make play a role. The coach and admin unfortunately it was not the same with players. Had we won people would have been singing praises about Renard.
You chaps were ambitious! You were expecting to win? I cannot believe it! You were expecting to reap where you did not sow? Absolutely unbelievable! Your friends have sports complexes developed to at least a certain standard- what structures do we have? Kabwelela kunuma kalaya!
This was the right result, painful as it is. We could have been a laughing stock at the World Cup. The problem with our Country is that we have got too many politicians. They have clogged up everything in the Country. State funerals, medical evacuations, presidential honours, News headlines, strategic decision making, getting new passports without any problems, to mention a few, are all dominated by politicians. Politicians do not develop a nation. A nation develops only if its politicians create an enabling environment for other professions to thrive. I bet no one is going to listen to me, that is why I am in the diaspora!!!!
Playing well in a game of football iz unfortunately not good enough if you dont take your scoring chances. Money spent on the National Team should not be an issue, unless we suggest that Zambia withdrawz membership from all associationz World-wide. Win or loze money will still be “wasted”.
BaJacob mulenga na ba katongo nabapwa,tu bena sunzu tapali efyo twaciteya.Kalu poesniko amano or else muzacucha
What am i supposed to do with the Tickects and Hotel Room that i have already booked, i dont want to go their to watch other countries? i feel so bad.
You cant expect to qualify to the world cup when there is nonsense in zambia’s political arena!!! Good soocer goes with good political and economic climates in a soccer teams country.
Kalusha must go!
#102 Denkete
Don’t give lame excuses. There are many countries in the world with terrible political systems that still do very well in world soccer. This govt cannot be accused of failing because it has given a lot of support to the team. What I would like to say is that as long as we do not have at least 3 players playing in top club leagues in the world we will be failures. Zambia must go to the grassroots and start developing football there. Our club leagues must become professional. Part timers NEVER win. Soccer is now a science. There is a whole panoply of staff involved- Psychologists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, sports doctors etc. I am sorry but we over rate ourselves.
A President of the assoc managing affairs from outside the Country. Govt pumped in over $2Billion yet teachers who are directly building the nation cannot even afford basic accomodation. Abash RB! KALUSHA MUST GO!!!!!! ZAMBIANS WAKE UP! KALU MUST GO!!!!
We shall continue debating about what’s wrong with the team until doomsday. It’s simple, the FAZ and the coach have underachieved for a long time and we keep saying give them more time and all that nonsense. Is Kalusha and his FAZ executive indispensible? Here in Europe if the association or coach fail to deliver they get sacked, simple, no murking about. Too much money is being wasted with no returns. Even the team of a country at war like Iraq would easily whitewash the Zambian team in its present form. Action is required now otherwise forget about participating in top tournaments.
We are a hopeless nation. We run things in our own country like its for other people. Leadership has no ambition and all we do is justify our failures. mediocrity is our second name. Excellence bapongoshi. we laways think that someone out there is so much interested in our country that he will come and develop it for us. Its very sickening to have mediocre minds at the helm of leadership everyone. Just to give an example of how follish we are as a nation, we organised a friendly with Ghana and so much taxpayers money spent but what do we do? we dont show up as team we want to assess but field hopeless boys. I have never heard anyone asking the people responsible to account for the wasted money.
Its time to change leadership everywhere sport, economics, social konsefye. Sometimes i feel we deserve the leadership we have because how do these thugs called leaders get into positions if we dont want them? I am tired of living out of my country because things are just too bad. I know some of you (bancekelako, bapompwe mushibilansala) are saying things are ok. Umwana shenda atasha nyina ukunaya. We are a century behind in terms of anything that could be called meaningfull development. Our roads are worse than countries ukwali nkondo.
We have been here before and this development seems to be the norm. Unless a strategic approach is initiated in the management and delivery of our sports provision, disappointments such as these and the predominant medal-less achievements from major Games such as the Olympics/World Championships will continue serving us with migranes!! The truth of matter is that Zambia lacks qualified personel to manage our sport in general. Or maybe the right people happen to be on this blog…going by the comments seen here. Great Kalu was a good player but this does not make a administrator. Sport epitomises capitalist values that seeks for profit after huge an investment. I guess the question is, how much have invested in sport…grassroot level? When do we begin preps for major games …?!!
We lost with honour we were well represented if only it wasn’t for Dirramba once again . We need to carry our history with us mix it up with the up coming leaders if we would like to have a team with an attitude, unlike what we have at the moment . They luck mental fittiness .It takes three years to implement a program by new coach unlees you have qaulity world class player’s then you can do it over night with two weeks trainning for a world title. So leave the organizatoin you loosers ” just enjoy your mosi .Respect Kalu he is the best we have all he needs is support he know’s what his doing Get the likes of ba Makwaza and Friedie Mwila na ba mudala ba Liwewe they have a lot talent we can tap from .
i fell coah made some tactical bladers on player substitution, whn jonas come out he should hav introduced two2 players and not chamager ,but given and mayuka, where was fwanyo tembo,he should be using this player more, unfortunately our captain has reached his peak
It is hard to accept a loss like that, but in all fairness it was expected. The London saga continues!!!! Let us refocus our energies on CAN 2010, and start preparing for World Cup 2014 today 7th September 2009….that way we may qualify and not the way we have behaved in the near past. Let us organize a calendar of events leading up to CAN 2010 in Angola and World Cup 2014 wherever….NOW! We can blame each other all year and achieve nothing at all. LET”S JUST GET BACK TO EVEN MORE HARDER WORK. MORE WORK FOR THE COACH (P.E Teacher or Any Other), MORE WORK FROM F.A.Z (Not honeymoons every week), MORE SUPPORT FROM G.R.Z. (We need proper funding and world class infrastructure) and MORE SUPPORT FROM THE FANS…DID YOU HEAR THE DEAFENING NOISE THAT WAS IN THAT STADIUM BAFI**LA!!!!
this great galu led executive is full of sh*t. the man cant perform. he is a joker and player
Renard is slowly become obsolete!Maybe its high time he went back to country of origin
Je crois que nous ne sommes pas prêts pour le stade mondial
well done boyz…you really gave us a hard time…and put up a good fight…you should take it easy on your team, they are young and they work hard. I see you beating Egypt easily, good luck…. and congrats for the great performance.

I see you beating Egypt easily, good luck…. and congrats for the great performance.
good job algeria good job desert gladiators to the world cup
