Don’t worry of MMD loss – Mutati

Share

MMD Lunte Member of Parliament, Felix Mutati, has urged party officials not to despair following the party’s recent defeat in the Kasama and Solwezi Central parliamentary by-elections.

Mr Mutati said the defeat should not be interpreted as the beginning of the downfall of the ruling party as it was still a great party.

Addressing ward officials at Kapatu in Mporokoso district yesterday, Mr Mutati said the defeat should serve as an inspiration to all MMD officials on the need to reorganise the party to make it meet the aspirations of the people.

The MP, who is on a tour of developmental projects in his constituency, said there is need to enhance unity in the party and avoid finger-pointing which could work to the detriment of the party.

He observed that the defeat in the Kasama and Solwezi parliamentary by-elections could be an indication that the opposition was getting better organised, hence the need for the MMD to step up its activities at all levels.

Mr Mutati said there is need to strike a balance between political pronouncements and the physical delivery of development projects.

He has since urged ward officials in his constituency to come up with budgets for party mobilisation so that they could strengthen their structures at branch level.

The MMD recently lost the Kasama and Solwezi Central Parliament to the opposition.

  2. Mutati you are very intelligent mwaice. You always talk about economic development { keep it up} except the news deal preso ICHIBUMBA LPM SC passed way. And I see no MMD members in your Lunte constituency. I say so coz 2008 election PF got 75% of votes. 2011 it will be 100%. Its too late

  3. Mutati it is not about re- organising the party, it about your lies catching up with you, you can only deceive people for so long, remember your first campaign in lunte how you were arrogantly addressing the people at ZACHARIA CHANDA, and I qoute ” uyu musebo tuli nokubikamo tar ichakukuti ngamuleyenda mulekusa na ma’nga kumakasa” meaning the mporokoso kasama road, have you fullfilled that promise? without that road being done there is no meaningful development you can take to lunte contituency. buying sewing machines for chiefs is not development, do’nt take pipo for granted! they need another MP, NOT YOU.

While Mmembe is a ghetto tabloid Journalist without ethics and training and Sata uneducated thug, His Excellency President Rupiah Banda is a seasoned top Diplomat who thrives in dignifying dialogue. This is why he served with distinction at the United Nations and as President of Namibia. The power of Diplomacy is in perfected dispute resolutions and conflict management skills.RB and his diplomatic etiquettes doesn’t build his leadership on thuggery and sensationalism as Sata and HH.

Is it a surprise that the man is always smiling, calm and steadfast? He is a top educated diplomat and economist who understands political theatrics in the case of shifting variables, and mastering Game theory be it in scenarios of prisoner dilemma.Watch the space.

CATHOLIC CLERGY CALL FOR RESOLUTION OF ‘STRAINED’ RELATIONS

The Association of Zambian Catholic Clergy has said there is need to resolve the perceived strained relationship between the church and government through dialogue and reconciliation.

Association national president, FR Cletus Mwila, told Southern Province Minister, Daniel Munkombwe in Choma Saturday night during a discussion forum dubbed ‘A call to unity and reconciliation’ organized by Caritas Monze Catholic diocese, that perceived differences between government and the church could be resolved through reconciliation.

  6. Fr Mwila said issues that needed to be resolved included the perceived disrespect towards government by some members of the clergy. He said the differences could be sorted out, but emphasized the need for dialogue and reconciliation.

He said some of the statements attacking government had been made in the individual capacities of the priests as they did not represent the collective view of the church. He said because the constituency of the church was the same as that of government, time had come to resolve issues that were affecting the relationships of the two parties.

Fr Mwila said the church was ready to work with government, but stated that it would not compromise its stance on the Gospel.Fr Mwila said the church was concerned with issues bordering on governance such as the…

  7. Fr Mwila said the church was concerned with issues bordering on governance such as the recent violence that rocked the just ended Solwezi parliamentary by-election.

He said the church is also worried at levels of funding to the health and education sectors as well as the distribution of farming inputs and the crop marketing arrangements.

And Fr Mwila has said regionalism has become a serious threat to Zambia’s unity and reconciliation. He said regionalism is when the unity of purpose in the nation is broken into protectionism as opposed to the common good.

  8. Fr Mwila said the nation had fallen into politics of self-interest that served personalities and not the nation. And Southern Province Minister, Daniel Munkombwe, urged the Catholic Church to intensify the preaching of peace and reconciliation in the nation.Mr Munkombwe said the tribal politics that had rocked the country were a source of worry.

  9. VETERAN, JUST STOP EMPTY YAPPING MUDALA. BAPHI-TALLEY ABO BA RB NABAYA. WE R VERY SORRY NGA NI BAYAMA BOBE. BA RB BALE NYER MO FYE AMAPHY MU PLOT 1 MWANA.

  10. Veteran, I am sorry to say but you were posted to the Embassy in Washington to do the job that anyone in your capacity should be doing, that is REPRESENTING our country and SERVING Zedians residing in the US. Not campaigning for the ruling party. That’s why each time Zed takes one step forward, people like you make the nation take two steps backwards. Mind you, you are not there to represent the GRZ run ZNBC.

  11. Mutati, you are an intellegent young man but don’t forget your party has become useless to we the people of Zambia and voters in particular. Switch on to the pact we will consider u since you are not a personality centered kind of politician. In you I see economic agenda for your constituency but you are in a wrong class (mmd)…..!!

  12. Felix Mutati is not a politician but a damn businessman. He should have been the right man to have been in the Solwezi Central By election. The man if not spent most of his childhood life in NorthWestern coz his father used to work for Ministry Health up to HeathnProvincial Officer. The MMD loss in Solwezi is not something that serious minded MMD members should take lightly. That seat can influence the turn of events for the entire Province. MMD is dead in Mwinilunga, Kabompo and Zambezi and that was before by elections. I hope he has made enough for himself and family even if he became a back bancher after 2011 he does not care. There are lot of pros and cons for ther PACT forming GRZ after 2011 General Elections. Alot of things will turn upside down. Believe me or not.

  13. #16 Who are you misusing my mother tongue. Come up in numbers or yishimu and identify yourself. Your name sound original. Use yishimu to communicate to me dont be afraid.

  14. Mutati ur a great men continue with tht type of Leadership u hav rendered to th nation econmically and politically i see one day u be a prominet leader in ths country.

  15. The defeat of the MMD is a clear indication that the arrogant party is on its way out.
Congrats to the people of Kasama and Solwezi Central!
