Esther takes to the ring against American Terri Blair at Mulungushi International Conference Centre.

“This is a quality fight and the toughest fight in Esther’s career,” Wissow said on Wednesday evening upon arrive with Blair and her trainer William Jarvis at Lusaka International Airport.
“It is a fight worthy of a World title fight.”

22-year-old Esther will step into the ring against an opponent 12 years her senior who comes to Zambia with a career record of 27 fights of which 11 are wins, with 14 loses and two draws.

Meanwhile, Esther will be looking to extend her pro record to 11 successive victories as she tries to shrug off a dark cloud surrounding her previous mis-matches in the ring.

  1. Fight wish you the best Esther you are a clean fighter like Floyd Mayweather am sure even this one you are winning wish you all the best. Go girl!

  2. Take it easy Ryan Wissow don’t intimidate Esther. Remember Esther cannot be intimidated. Moreover Ryan you a the President of Women’s International Boxing association (WIBA) and you are not suppose to be a supporter of anyone but you are suppose to be neutral. You will see what Esther will say in her Nyanja as she said the last American you brought. She said Not Nyo-nyo-nyo apa you will see in the ring that’s what Esther said.

  3. Esther continues to make our county proud every time she’s in the ring. Wishing you all the very best! Kick some American butt!

  4. esther just take it easy, let him say whatever he wants about you but don’t be itimidated. he is just a simple like anyone else. we tough opponents have and they all have fallen cause you know what the ring means to you and the country at large. in you we concure and trust.
go go girll show them how nshima works choma mealie. i wish you all the best best girl and have fun.

  5. All the best Esther .. I hope the fight will be televised .

Hey all RSA residents you can now watch MUVI TV on DSTV decorders.

  6. The war of wordz iz very normal in any competition, although often thoze who speak loudest are not the best. Keep your compozure Esther, protect your face, let the Yankee tire out and all will be plain sailing.

  7. Whatever the case I am pretty certain Esther Phiri will carry the day over Terry Blair. What the WIBA President Rayn is talking about is just pre fight talk. It will be of course a tough fight for Esther but the other American whom she fought at Woodlands Stadium was a quality fighter. Let us turn in numbers and render support to Esther and the sport. I hope Anthony Mwamba has schemed more than he did to Chisamba leading to his battering. What logic does it make to have Chingangu fight using the ring after the Esther Vs Blair bout. Do the promoters reason. These are hard days even for the few staunch boxing fans who will manage to make it to Mulungushi will have to drastically adjust their budgets. It would have made sense to stage the fights at same venue and share the costs etc.

  8. Esther atleast you always give us something to boast about unlike these money wasters the so called Zambia National Team but i love them even though they waste my money and breaks my heart.Go Esther Go from you we assured of a victory than the Cecafa guys.

  9. I AM ALREADY CELEBRATING YOUR VICTORY ESTHER, YOU HAVE DONE US PROUD GIRL, YOU ROCK, NOT THIS NATIONAL TEAM, I ALMOST DIED OF A HEART ATTACK WHEN THEY LOST IN CHILILABOBWE. ALL EYES ON YOU
    WE ADORE YOU.

  10. We will see blood in the ring this time round. The referee should not rush to stop the fight. I want to see someone struggle to rise from the canvass.
