Government will construct a Trades Training Institute in Kalabo district of Western Province.
Science, Technology and Vocational Training Minister Gabriel Namulambe says the project is estimated to cost about K1.2 billion.
Mr. Namulambe says government through his Ministry has embarked on a project to construct and rehabilitate training institutions in the country.
He says this is ensure that graduates live up to the TEVET policy of 1996 integrated entrepreneurship expectations.
The Minister was speaking at the 4th graduation ceremony for Mongu Trades Training Institute in Mongu today.
He said government recognizes Technical Education Vocational and Entrepreneurship Training (TEVET) as a critical component in realizing the vision 2030 of making the country a middle income nation.
Mr. Numulambe commended the board, management and staff at the institution for striving hard to have the institution rated Grade 1 by TEVETA.
And Mongu Trades Institute board vice chairman, Pastor Pumulo Muyunda said the Institute is mindful of government’s support saying that the structure was a true testimony of government’s commitment to improving the education standards in the country.
