New Airline launched between Livingstone and Johannesburg

Share

A flight has been introduced to Livingstone by One Time Airlines targeted to tap into the tourism potential to be provided by 2010 FIFA world Cup in South Africa.

Launching the maiden flight to Livingstone yesterday, Director for Africa One Time Airlines Graham Petersen said Livingstone meets the criteria of tourism and was optimistic that the Airline would be successful as it embarks on its Livingstone route.

He said upon arrival at Livingstone International Airport that his Airline was also targeting the 2010 World Cup as people coming to South Africa would also want to travel regionally.

Mr. Petersen said the Airline was expanding its routes into Africa adding that Livingstone was the second destination after launching the Airline.

He was optimistic that One Time Airlines would greatly contribute to the growth of tourism in the region as it has introduced reduced fares between Livingstone and Johannersburg at US$50.

Mr. Petersen said reduced fares had a positive impact on tourism as it led to increased travel.

And speaking at the same launch, National Airports Corporation Director of Airport Services Prince Chitimbwe said NAC was happy that they had another player on the market with cheap rates.

  1. Damn $ 50 thats is wonderful, that is a price for my six pack now boarding a price at such an amount ? I wish the airline the best of success

  2. Always westerners are coming to steal the sweet from the baby’s mouth,ZAMBIANS WTF ARE YOU DOING,YOU ARE ALL SLEEPING WHILE PEOPLE ARE MAKING MONEY IN FRONT OF YOU,i bet you this “airline”has dubious records on aircraft maintenance, some people will lose lives and property..

  3. That’s what happens when a country lacks sound leadership, you attract all types of ‘investors’. I concur with you #2.

  4. #2 – Why the negativity? If the airline brings more people to Livingstone to spend money in Zambia where is the problem? Do you have any evidence to support the allegations you make regarding the maintenance of aircrafts? I am sure that Zambians will also benefit to paying $50 to fly to Johannesburg. This means that Livingstone might actually see an increase in Zambian visitors travelling to the town to travel to SA which should also boost the local economy.

  5. Wow!!! thats great news…. could have a direct connection through to Vic. falls from Joburg… lovely to hear that…

  6. Some good airlines like virgin have offered cheap flights where others charge hundreds of dollars. This is good news for Livingston & for Zambia which is so expensive to fly to. We’re good at criticizing good initiatives and yet we can’t initiate anything.

  7. jelita and mulenga # 4. it just shows how shallow your vision is. cant you see what the gimmick is? how long will that $ 50 dollars flight special last. we should look long term. we should look partnering. 1 time should have partnered with a local company and not telling us crap that they will bring tourists. we need to benefit from our country. why are we so cheap in Zambia.# 8 the airline is south african owned.
