In the midst of Kalusha’s slaps of fury, the senior and junior national teams are in action tomorrow and hoping to be on the best of behavior and an incident-free Monday away from home while flying the flag for peaceful loving Zambia.

Zambia tomorrow battle for a semifinal place when they face Zanzibar in the last eight of this year’s Cecafa Cup in Nairobi hoping to maintain their 100% record in the competition so far with three out of three wins and no goals conceded.

Zambia, who finished top of Group A, face Zanzibar who booked their quarterfinal place after finishing as the second of the two best third placed sides from the preliminary group stage of the Cecafa Cup.

Winner in that match will face either defending champions Uganda or Kenya who clash in the other Monday quarterfinal match-up in Nairobi for a spot in Wednesday semifinals.

It will be a big test for Zambia will try not to suffer a banana skin against Zanzibar especially after the departure of key striker James Chamanga who headed back to his base in China last Friday for pre-season training.

Meanwhile, the Under-20 team are in South Africa to take part in the Cosafa Youth Championships that kicked off today in Johannesburg.

The under-20 are in Group D will Angola whom they will play twice for a place in the semifinals.

This is after the third country Mauritius withdrew from the tournament forcing the organizers to fix a two-leg play-off for the semifinals.

The second match will be played on Friday.

  1. zambian players are so selfish eg chamanga. he is a good player who paved a way for the youngs to have a chance to earn some money and some gold but after that he lets them nurse themselves at a gunpoint. this is a crusiou point for zambian national team. they have lots players out of the play, yet chamanga just leaves them without consindering how his friends really need the prizes. this is what bob mabege said “poor finishing” just because you have made a name for yourself then you don’t consinder others. i wish you bad luck and better come back in a casket.

What the hell are you talking about?

Chamanga was withdrawn by his club in China, and since CECAFA is not a FIFA recognized tournament, he had no option but to comply with the wishes of his club who are paying his professional salary. It wasn’t Chamanga’s decision to just leave in the middle of the tournament. Wow! if you are late to news, it sometimes wise to just shut up!!

How often do you read/follow sports news from home, bro? Because this story has been in the news several times now since last week, and the details are pretty clear—-wishing someone death over something you are not even sure about is very silly on your part. What an a.s.s!!!

  3. yes what the hell is this man? How surly can he wish Chamanga dead just because of his ignorance on how world soccer is run? Is it his problem or FAZ’s problem who failed to convince the chinese club on chamanga’s release? Luck of wisdom in its highest order
