VICE-President George Kunda says the MMD is confident of winning the 2011 presidential and parliamentary elections with President Rupiah Banda as its candidate.

Mr. Kunda has since appealed to the people of Southern Province not to experiment with leadership.

The Vice-President was speaking in Livingstone today when he featured on Zambezi FM Radio Station.

He appealed to the people not to be cheated by people who had nothing to offer and only made fake promises.

Mr. Kunda said the MMD government was geared to empower the people and to create new jobs for the people.

And responding to a question on when the MMD would hold its convention, Mr. Kunda said a decision on the convention would be made soon.

Meanwhile Mr Kunda has expressed concern that those days when the Church acted as peacemakers had evaporated.

He said he was worried that some of the Churches were now going into the ring to fight with the government adding that this was contrary to the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ who preached reconciliation.

”We want the Church to bring us together as Politicians,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Kunda has said there is need for government and media to dialogue and has since congratulated the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) for exploring means of self regulation.

Mr. Kunda observed that there must be a difference between those Journalists who were trained and those who were not.

He said a draft bill was ready in his office and that it would be presented to Parliament if no progress was made to draft a bill by Journalists themselves.

  1. Excuse me if I am wrong ba Kunda. Aren’t you the same person who said the same thing before the Solwezi elections that MMD will scoop the seat? But anyway, I would not be suprised because twalishiba ama trick muma nabena VJ.

  2. As we get closer to the 2011 general elections, we are going to be continually warned by MMD cadres and supporters that “we should not experiment with leadership” – somewhat suggesting that the deadwood among our current crop of government leaders hold the key to Zambia’s future!

We are also likely to be bombarded by rehearsed calls from the same folks that the President “should be given more time to complete his projects and programs beyond 2011.” Such calls are, of course, meaningless because any new Republican president would be obliged to adopt and implement existing projects and programs that are designed to benefit communities nationwide – projects and programs initiated by previous administrations. No change in campaign language at all!

  3. I’m totally in snyc with all you guys #1, #2, and #3. You are absolutely right…..it’s not that we hate MMD or any other party but all we want what these bafi colour cannot understand or they do but continue to ignore our very positive contributions, is that we want a party that can move us forward to implement all those good developmental projects for the sake of mother Zambia. We need more and more hospitals, good roads, more universities not just UNZA and CBU, more technical colleges and finally we want uncorrupt and honest leadership who should work for Zambia and not Zambia for them and their nasty wives…! This time please vote these criminals out and then prosecute them with no chance of parole. Do not allow them to rig elections…balitumpa sana fye aba abantu. Shame on them…

  4. In creating democratic space and allowing it to continue growing, MMD condones every dreamer to flaunt in hope that they are a factor in 2011 against MMD. But if the opponents its Hichilema and his concubine Sata, unless they bring late Mazoka as their candidate, MMD will never waste its time. MMD will never lose to any of the two not even when pitched under a PACT.

  5. RB is the worst experiment Zambia has ever conducted. We cannot wait to see him out! Bantu has spoken, wait and see. Obsever, you will cry.

  6. Go ahead George, keep dreaming. Your reasoning is very dissappointing as if you are not a lawyer, can’t you see what the people are seeing?

  7. Looking at Kunda’s state of health, one does not need to be a Sangoma to figure out that this man is going to be absent from the 2011 polls so its unbecoming of him to be talking about matters pertaining to the future he is not going to share with Zambians. Iwe ka Kunda, ziba zako ka!

  8. Where will Rupiah Banda get the votes to win 2011? Copperbelt 10%? Lusaka 15%? Southern 7%? Central 15%? North-Western 20?Luapula 25%? Northern 15%? Western 20%? He will get 65% from Eastern.

  9. Political talk has been a waste of time but w are still on. The salvation that Zambians have been waiting for will never come soon, there will never be such an utopia. It will still be the same old story. The only way out is change of attitude, behaviour and way of doing things. How do you expect us to develop quick? When people are unprofessional, selfish, poor at keeping time, very sloth and lethargic. Worse enough some people in politics are highly educated but lack fundamental education and are still mega morons.

  10. For RB its over, iam sure Zambian have woken up today to see how disorientetd RB is,Where in Zambia wud a president instruct the government to compensate $6mill US to Chonger over stupid claims when all the poverty going on….

  11. How can the church bring reconcilliation when you ka kunda you habouring big-nosed shikapwasha who is a former shameless general, fake pastor(reverand) and a so-called politician and ba prophet ftj kafupi chiluba & prophetes regina mwanza(who ran away from her husband to chiluba for money) .Check your ka cabinet properly.

  12. This dreamer is back and has got worse. No one in their right senses ever takes notice of what Kunda vomits. He is simply pathetic.

  13. where was this useless man called GK? l get irritated to hear anything from him. He likes dreaming. Instead of giving us what he went abroad for he is back and giving us crap again .

  14. Kunda alibe nzelu. what does he mean? I have never seen such a dull lawyer like Kunda is. I should think he smokes mango leaves. This is what seems to be confusing him.

  15. The futility of George Kunda’s trip to Trinidad and Tobago is loud and clear. He has lamentably failed to articulate deliberations of the summit. In lieu, he has opted to regurgitate the same and monotonous political rhetoric which failed to win him and his party the Solwezi, Pemba and Zambezi bye elections. What a waste!

  16. Mr Kunda amazasing me each time he vists Southern province he talks rubbish. He thinks southern province we be strong hold for MMD, by saying that HH has sold UNPND to Sata. This is cheap propganda which will not take any where is just wasting time. He should talk about real issues which are affecting MMD. He knows his days are numbered.
