Zambia Under-20 face South Africa Under-20 tomorrow in the final of this year’s Cosafa Youth Championship in Johannesburg.
Zambia beat Madagascar 4-0 while South Africa defeated Botswana 3-0 in Sunday’s semifinal matches to qualify to Tuesdays final.
The two sides last met in the Cosafa Youth Championship final in 2006 that South Africa won 2-1 and the latter has also beaten Zambia twice in recent final meetings played with the other coming in 2004.
Furthermore, South Africa have continued to enjoy an edge ever since and also beat Zambia in their previous meeting last year in Kimberley that the host s and current defending champions won 2-0 in a preliminary Group A match.
Meanwhile, both sides come into Tuesday final with 100 hundred percent records with and both conceding just one goal apiece.
Evans Musonda will be looking to add to his three-goal tally so far in the competition as Zambia attempt to end a six-year drought since last winning the title in 2003.
Nabola wine ifyo tulushila!! Tomato balunda mayo, tomato balunda!!!
Good game baiche! Ifibalamba ifikolopo ni problem, ubukula bwachilamo. All they know is how to lose and all their chief can do is punch some journalist in the face. If only GRZ can invest in the youth, hope to reach major tournaments would be a reality. not as things are at the moment. I wish you could play with the senior team and embarrass them.
All the best to our baby makula’s! But frankly, a win i for Zambia is uncertain! ala bola pa zed yasililatu
Moderator, takuli nefya good game apa! its high time these boys looked beyond the Cosafa cup whatever. Echo batumpila mukulusa.
Senior team has a problem of a coach who was a physical trainer turned coach. FAZ president should step down, he is a failure and let down. The Zambian coached junior chipolopolo will surely bring the cup home. Go Boys Go. Away with ka Kalusha….
We hope Kalu is not interfering with the team’s Line up.Go boys, Go baiche & bring that Cup to Zed.After all the series of loses, you will make us proud by ending the year on a good note.
I hope the ladz have been told from the word go what iz in store for them at every stage of the tournament. It iz very sickening to hear of allowance money scandalz whenever our football teamz are in camp. Don’t hide in the no “money for juniors’ tournaments”, when their counterparts are promised big dollarz.
GO FOR IT LADS…
The problem with our junior teams is that they use madalas masquerading as under twentys and seveteens denying a chance to genuine talented youngsters.Even if we win the tounament it won’t add any value to our football if we don’t work on age cheating.Just because somebody grew up in chawama and he is undernourished at 30 years old because of tujilili and shakeshake does not make them under twenty.Lets focus genuinely on developing football in zambia.Chances of bringing this cosafa are slim to none as we have been turned into a punching bag or door mat for everyteam now in the sub region.Abash slapping jounalists and employing physical trainers and VIVA genuine development of football in the country.
