Embattled former Catholic Archbishop, Emmanuel Milingo, says he does not accept the decision by the Vatican to strip him of all his titles.
Mr. Milingo says the letter addressed to him is not valid because it did not have the emblem and seal from the Pope.
He says he will always be an Archbishop because he is a Christian.
Mr. Milingo also says the catholic nuns, the daughters of redeemer will not be affected by the decision of the Vatican as they were founded under the Catholic Church.
The former Catholic Archbishop is the founder of the daughters of redeemer.
Vatican spokesperson, Ciro Benedettini, announced on Thursday that the charismatic African Archbishop had been stripped of his priestly duties.
He said the action has been taken because the archibishop defiantly continues to ordain bishops despite already being excommunicated.
what is wrong with being just a christian. you dont need a title. you have your own church why stick with the old
If you were ordained by man then you will be strippedoff but if it is God who ordained you then you don nt have to worry

Mr.Ciro Benedettini, stop the patronage. He is a christian and believes in God thus ordained by the most High.Iam Catholic but I want to ask if its in the name of God or in the Pope that the Bishops,Priests,or Cardinals are ordained.
Sharp Shooter you are the type of catholic affiliates that I like, a true believer of Jesus. A priest, Bishop or pastor are ordained by God; thus the fickle ones in major circulation today are the wolves in sheep skin. The bible, God’s word clearly states that if a man cannot remain celebate let him marry. There is nothing wrong with milingo getting a wife at all it’s biblically sound. Since the bible is the catholic holy book they should leave the man alone period.
Priesthood was abolished(hebrews chapter7) for the messiah who is the only Mediator sanctioned by scripture , catholic priesthood’s foundation has and will never be biblical it’s actually heathen in origin . These titles are useless , pretentious and unbiblical and Milingo shouldn’t even bother addressing such. We are all brothers and only have one teacher so these titles are just to impress fellow man and make them subservivient to you.
We as Catholics have Canon law and if a priest resigns using the normal catholic way then they are allowed to marry.its not by force that he should be without a wife its a Vocation and its by choice. Ba mudala ba milingo has seen and has undergone thru a lot. He can behave the way he wants I dont care, each one for himself God for us all.
If he’s already been ex-communicated , what does it matter to the vatican what he does after that ? Unless he has been carrying out these ordinations in the name of the catholic church , then the vatican , rightly , do have reason to act , though such sanctions really have no spiritual significance whatsoever.
God ordains, but God works through people. It is a very biblical practise that each person be subject to the church. This is in the book of Acts. Peter was the leader, but he was answerable to the other church leaders, so was Paul, James and many prominent leaders in the New Testament. Slumdog, you are wrong to say priesthood was abolished. There is priesthood of all believers. All believers are priests having the divine right to come before God in Christ (the Righteous one). Titles carry power. How many people are after these titles: look at the church everywhere (not just catholic) nowadays. It is full of titles to symbolize power and influence. People are ready to run and listen to Apostle XP, or Bishop Golianti. Do you think one can be effective without a title? Unfortunately, this…
Yaba, its this story again, hoped it would be stale by now!
Fr. Milingo’s case is really a straight forward case. In any institution, religious or any other, there are rules and regulations. When you decide to join, you decide to abide by the group’s laws and regulation. If you try and change the structure, and they dont want change, why stay around? Move on. Now Mr. Milingo still hangs around… cant understand the man. They never forced him to join, why is he forcing himself on them? You cant not keep the vow of celibacy at the same time keep the marriage vow. There are straight rules, married, you cant be a priest, but you can be very active and minister. You dont have to be a priest to minister in the catholic church, but certain functions are reserved for priests. “Uwaikete fibili afwile kumenshi”, its so sad. Just move on Fr. Milingo
Milingo should continue doing what he is doing but he should not do things under the Catholic name. Just like # 7 said being a priest is a choice (its a calling). Priesthood means letting go of all external influences and making a choice to follow christ and his teachings. Unfortunately theses days most people are joining priesthood or sisterhood due to poverty (especially in 3rd world countries) and in the US some join to escape their unhealthy lifestyles (Paedophiles and Gays).
# 7 Mr Milingo can marry there is no dispute regarding that, what is a contention is the use of the titles eg Archbishop.

I met the man on several occasions recently, the man is incoherent when one speaks to him, am I the only one to think that he might be losing his mind (Ukupena)?
#9 Unless you want to say the Chapter 7 of the book of hebrews in wrong in favour of man made catholic doctrine. Hebrews 7:11-12, 18, The sole occupant of the priesthood is the messiah by order of Melchisedec hebrews 5:9-10, 7:26-28. Theres only one mediator between man and YHWH and thats the messiah. The false priesthood where you get a mediator who is human is unbiblical and false. The fact that we are all priestly tells you exactly why a priesthood is useless because most priests assume a higher position than fellow men
Mr.Millingo man ordained you Not God therefore you need to listen to the Catholic Church leadership and Authority. The other way is to renounce your past and join the Protestants.
Impressive debate, banyama muli bad, mwasopolola Bible, but again bakatolika imwe you are too fanatical,as it was in the beginning so shall it be in the end,no room for change
The view of the Roman Catholic Church is that celibacy is a reflection of life in Heaven, and a source of detachment from the material world, which aids in one’s relationship with God. When catholic priests etc are ordained, they swear to remain celibate and Milingo was no exception to this doctrine. How he can continue in his marriage to Maria of Korea and still hope to cling on to his catholic priestly duties is confounding and an insight into the confused mind of this wayward cleric. Whether his letter of dismisal carries the emblem and seal from the Pope or not, he is a gonna and embarrassment to Zambia.
Bye bye blogging, finally I have retired from blogging. Thanks to all the readers, stay well.
cud someone test this man for dementia please and take away those catholic robes from him. yes he can continue with his minstry or even form his own church and stop clinging to the catholic faith because he disagrees with the catholic teachings.
Number 19, bye my BRO, keep the faith, number 20, I support you. Why cant the old man just resign from the Catholic Church and continue with the life he wants to lead, instead of causing confusion in the Church, which, he should know better, will not allow him to mess with? Ba Mudala ba BISHOP, come to earth man.
We also need to take away the robs, he should not keep any at his house and any other items that should be in the order of the catholics.
Stay Blessed
#19, the fun is just starting good bye Chicago City……….will read yours next time then Happy New year
I would advise all of you people to have a one-on-one talk with Milingo (if that is possible), then you will understand why he is causing all this confusion. Apparently he does not think straight, what keeps him and people around him attracting attention is the money he has.
Mr.Milingo the church is not interested in having uncountable titles, enough is enough. It is not the mater of being called Most Rev.Archbishop Milingo etc…… You knew what you were doing.Firstly no one forced you to become a priest,it was your choice, later the priesthood thing lost meaning to you, left it freely as a free person born in a free country.Yes you are the founder of the daughters of redeemer and i believ they have nothing to do with you coz they were found in the Church and you are not the church u were just part of the church. With U and I or without, the church will continue to cary out its mission of procalming the goodnews for salvation of souls.Well said # 7
Pipo! Titles in è catholic church r nt like millitary ranks tht u continue 2 use even after active duty.è title bishop o archbishop refers 2 one who is in charge of a cathderal.in ths context, wot cathederal is milingo presidin on.thts y he hs 2 stop usin tht title until è church he formed recognizes him as so.
I agree with you slumdog. You have brought out the issues well. I do not agree to the priesthood + confessions + celibacy (to side with Milingo) that go with it. You did not touch on the titles? Today we are seeing a lot of titles: Apostles, Bishops, and I am sure with the increasing lust for power/recognition/influence among those who are serving God today, we will soon see more Popes coming. Pope Mushala Maso, Pope Isangoma etc.
It appears that many people have misunderstood the Catholic doctrines. You are not forced to become a priest and once you decide you must accept what rules and laws goe with this sacrament. That is why you are given a period of reflection so that you may understand fully well what you are about to get into. The Catholic Church does not accept those who want to become priests for reasons other than serving God eg if you are impotent you will not be accepted. We always misuse the Bible by quoting verses piece meal. Mr. Milingo made a decision to marry therefore he should now become an ordinary person. Continuing to argue against the Pope will not help. All Mr. Milingo needs is to form his own Church and there is no shortage of follower in Zambia, what with his healing powers
Ba milingo, you now have a different belief than the church that ordained you why do you still insist that you are catholic if you cant adhere to their belief? Leave them alone and call your church by a different name period. It is either you are wit them or against them. Stop that confusion and be a good leader rather than destroying. The book says whatever is bound on earth is also bound in heaven.
@30 Non Catholic. The problem facing Milingo is that he now cannot have access to the Church platform hence his clinging on to it.
Mr Milingo YOU HAVE LEFT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. RETURN ALL THE CATHOLIC ROBES.
BUY YR NEW CHURCH BISHOP ROBES IN DIFFERENT COLOUR OTHER THAN THAT OF
THE CATHOLIC CHURCH. I feel sorry for you I think at 80 you have lost it in the head. be a Bishop
of your own church – LEAVE CATHOLIC BISHOP TITLE ALONE.- Your head needs to be examined
you are not normal. WHY CLING TO CATHOLIC TITLE? Old man you are married and you have to
accept that and get away from the Church which made you what you are and have betrayed. PLEASE WHAT THE POPE LOOSENS ON THIS EARTH SO WILL IT BE LOOSENED IN HEAVEN.
GO – GO – GO -GO take your healing powers with you. WHO IS YR ADVISOR? go and you will
be respected continue with yr own church Mr Milingo!!!!!!!!!
